Vintage Rose Tea Room in Denbighshire

What a find! This fabulous find is just off the High Street. The food was delicious and all sourced locally. Two of us had the mozzarella and roasted veg jacket potato and the other had the goats cheese and roasted veg panini. The roasted veg was exquisite especially the mushrooms.Ran by a mother and daughter duo, whose sense of humour was refreshing and nothing was too much trouble. Even when one of our party asked for a glass of white wine, the owner popped to the shop to buy a very nice bottle of white. We were made to feel very welcome and would love to return to sample the afternoon tea.Thank you for a lovely experience and afternoon!

My wife and I enjoy afternoon teas of all prices in a variety of settings, This tearoom sets the standard for good sandwiches of your choice with homemade cakes and scones. Quality and good portions put many fancy hotel settings to shame.

Booked on for afternoon tea, we checked that our dog was allowed and she was The sandwiches were freshly made to order and delicious, it’s not fast food as it’s all made to order but the lovely interesting decor is great while you wait with a nice pot of tea. Sandwiches were well worth waiting for and the cakes were all amazing and baked by the owner - outstanding sponge cake ! I can’t comment on the very ample chocolate fudge cake and lemon sponge as I was too full so brought them home for a treat later Excellent value , lovely surroundings and friendly service - what more can you ask for ?! Yum

Where to start.....well, a couple of people had recommended this tea room to us, and boy am I glad I listened. Upon walking into the tea room we were greeted by friendly smiles from the staff even though they looked rushed off their feet. We were sat pretty quick in a quaint corner of the tea room and handed menus. Plenty of choice from cakes to sandwiches to lunches. Delicious fresh food made on the day. Wonderful service and our dog was welcomed too. Will 100% be returning and recommending to others. Well worth the 40 minute journey. By far the friendliest, welcoming and tastiest place for miles. We booked an afternoon tea weeks in advance for 4 people for a 70th birthday surprise. We arrived to be told by the owner that her daughter had taken a day off and she was on her own so there would be a wait. We were then told to pick a sandwich and a cake. We waited 45 minutes until this was brought to us. The afternoon tea consisted of a sandwich, a cake and a scone! I've had plenty of afternoon teas and this was not one of the best. The food was of good quality, but a variety of sandwiches/cakes/desserts are usually served. Won't be returning or recommending unfortunately.

Had a lovely festive afternoon tea for my birthday. Really enjoyed it. Gorgeous homemade cakes we even took a few extras home. Pretty little cafe. The ladies were very helpful. Would defiantly recommend.

We visited on Tuesday for a late lunch. It seems that there was a bit of an unexpected rush whilst we were there, however, the girl coped brilliantly, despite being on her own. She was friendly and attentive and managed really well everyone's needs, serving customers and preparing the food. It did unfortunately mean a bit of a wait for food, but that wasn't too much of an issue for us. My husband and I had 2 hot drinks, a toastie and a jacket sweet potato, all of which we really enjoyed. Some of the cakes looked delicious too but sadly we didn't have time before our train- maybe next time! I felt comfortable enough to breastfeed whilst there was impressed with the baby change facilities.

Wow, this tea room has everything. 5* food hygiene, ample seating and parking out the front. We called in unannounced and were greeted in such a warm and friendly way. The food was delicious and extremely well presented. Dogs are very welcome and also well catered for. There is a fantastic nook at the back with sofas and toys for children and the most amazing court yard to the rear. The atmosphere was so calm with tasteful music playing. The toilet were so clean. I would definitely recommend this venue for afternoon teas, lunch or just a brew. Thank you so much for for the way you treated my children.

Owned by an old school friend and her daughter. Not seen her for many years. But what a warm welcome. Had booked afternoon tea. The table was reserved for us. So book ahead if you don't want to be turned away. A quirky little tea room.The afternoon tea is made to order. The BLT I had was very yummy. Fresh bread, good quality bacon and fresh tomatoes. The lemon drizzle cake was to die for ( made by my friends daughter). Very good value and served with smiles and friendly chat. Well with a visit if you are in the area.

I had a lovely time visiting this tea room. I had an excellent homemade coffee cake, which was complemented by a very nice latte.Atmosphere was cosy and I loved the decor and old style music.Will 100% be visiting again for lunch and more cake!

I have been here three times now. They do amazing food and are great with dogs! I will visit here over anywhere in Llangollen after having a bad experience at another tea room nearby this tea room is far the best. My dog couldn’t get into many places and they welcomed us with open arms and gave him a treat. The food is amazing and great value for money. The two young girls (I’m not sure of their names) are a credit to the business. If you have dogs this is the best place to go. Thank you for providing excellent food and service.

We found this little business in a short street slightly off the main business area. It looked attractive from outside because of the plants arranged attractively outside the door. Indoors was very welcoming with everything clean and pretty. This is not the place for anyone who wants slick, streamlined anything - this is for a relaxed meal or just a cream scone and a cup of tea. The service was quick and friendly, the cream scone was delicious and the price was very modest. I would certainly recommend this tearoom.

I was looking for a decent lunchtime snack before quite a long walk and found this place tucked out of the way on Oak Street. Molly the Collie was welcome and I had Eggs Benedict with tea. The cafe is a delight to be sat in and the room is very tastefully decorated in a "vintage" style. The music is of a certain time. Everything was just fine and the food was great; tea in china cups.

My wife and I stumbled across this little gem when passing through Llangollen, we happened to find a parking space almost outside the cafe so we called in. We ordered the toasted panini’s and tea. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing service. The owners opened 1 hour early for us on a Sunday so that we could host a surprise breakfast for our friend & then get to a spa by 1pm.

After a long walk my husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a drink and a slice of cake. We came across this very welcoming tea room on getting back into Llangollen town. Friendly service and nice to find somewhere that makes traditional lemon drizzle cake. Will definitely be back when next in Llangollen.

We were impressed with the service at this little tearoom. All the ladies there were really friendly and tried to make us feel very welcome, especially to our children. The homemade cakes were delicious and the tea was traditionally served in a pot with china cups.

Couldn't find it because of the mountain mist. All the reviews are good so we tried to find it. The mist came down it was impossible to find the cafe. We carried on to Llangollen via the mountain single track road. This has lovely views in good weather. In January the road is very risky due to the single track and vertical drop offs. Passing became a very big problem due to the fact that oncoming cars vans wagons didn't or found it hard to reverse to a passing place as the mist was so dense they couldn't see. Do go on a clear day it is spectacular.

Wow on a cold little weds afternoon we stumbled upon this little gem, a lovely quaint tea room that is very shabby chic. The cakes are to die for and everything is hand made and local and it has free wi fi it is also plastic free. The owner has only been I situ since last Friday and she is a joy to behold and talk to - come and find it and enjoy it before it gets too busy.

Popped into the tea rooms on a super cold day after walking along canal from the aqueduct. The coffee was lovely and super hot which I like. We ordered panini sand they were very tasty with a lovely garnish and crisps. All in all a lovely visit and must mention the toilet was very clean with good nappy change area for parents. We will call again when in the area.

Under new ownership since our last visit but still a very nice place to go, we all had the classic afternoon tea which was plentiful and the hot water and milk were replenished twice for the 6 of us. Choice and quality of the sandwiches were excellent, scones were good, nice to have a slice of Basra Brith as well, the only disappointment were the cakes, only 3 choices and all very ordinary. However we would still return to this pretty little tearoom

While stopping in llangollen for the week we where recommended here for afternoon tea there where 5 of us for tea and one extra. Called ahead to book and the dog was allowed to join us too! Lovely food and cakes all fresh and home made sandwiches made on arrival. Friendly staff made to feel very welcome. Cute little garden out the back

To help celebrate a very special birthday, my daughter took me to these tearooms for their luxury afternoon tea. Everything was freshly made from the selection of delicious sandwiches, scones to the variety of homemade cakes. Well worth a visit.

Pop for hot chocolate with the group of friends for hen do. Enjoyed my orange hot chocolate marshmallow and cream along free locus biscuit! Didn’t have chance to eat scone as prefer the plan even then cakes look yummy

A friend and myself visited and were extremely disappointed. Black burnt cheese on toast with not much cheese or garnish. We wete told it was the grill. Wont be gping again as no refund was offered

La comida estaba bien presentada mi esposa tenía un sandwich de queso y jamón, pan tostado, tuve un huevo escalfado y tocino muffin. Con una gran jarra de té para dos personas. Buena relación calidad-precio me puede recomendar Vintage Rose a cualquiera que aprecie la calidad.

Tomamos el té de la tarde aquí en nuestra Narrowboat vacaciones a lo largo del canal de Llangollen. Casa recién horneadas. Pero yo prefiero un poco de variación en vez de el mismo tipo de pan para elegir.

This small cafe/tea room offers the best value food in Llangollen, it's not on the Main Street, but on a street opposite the road with the main car park. We had jacket potatoes with cheese and bacon, they were superb and the red cabbage coleslaw was much better than the usual bland stuff. The tea for two comes in a large teapot which is heavy and it is easy to burn fingers. The only criticism was the background music which would have been more appropriate from the 50's. There is a good choice of homemade cakes.

Taking a break on journey to llandudno and found this absolutely delightful cafe.excellent coffee and homemade cakes.the owner who is the home baker deserves every bit of credit.this will always be our llangollen coffee break.she deserves a visit you will not be disappointed

This was my first visit under the new ownership and we weren't disappointed. All the food looked delicious but we had gone purposely for afternoon tea so that is what we had. This is great value! We had a choice of sandwich, large scone with jam and cream, some bara brith and your choice of cake from the display counter. Herein lies the problem - how do you decide from such a delicious choice of home made bakes? On this occasion the malteser, carrot and banana cakes won but with 8-10 choices it was a difficult one! Service is great and the decor lovely. If you like delicious freshly made food at great prices you won't be disappointed here.

Went here for morning coffee during my stay....nice little cafe , good coffee, good service, cakes and scones I had were excellent, On the down side, noise from fridge compressor very loud,and some decoration required(particularly ceiling)would add to the ambience.Overall very good, staff really nice and friendly made you feel welcome.

We visited the tea room for Mother's Day. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made my Wife, Kids and I feel very welcome. The afternoon was delightful and the cakes and scones were amazing.

Down a side street, glad we explored and found this tearoom. Enjoyable lunch, homemade cakes looked good too but we could manage no more.

We have been regular visitors to the vintage tea rooms for a few years now, i also had my hen party there but on our visits last year we were met by a sign saying that due to a family illness the tea rooms was sadly temporarily closed. We visited again on the off chance last thursday and to our surprise it was open. When we went in and met by a lovely lady that we did not recognise we had a feeling it had been takenover in which we were a little sceptical and as the original owner caroline (if i remember rightly) is very hard to live up to I can honestly say the afternoon tea was just as good. I wish the new owners all the luck in the world, everything was superb and I wish Caroline the prevoius owner all the love in the world too as I believe she is having a tough time atm. The new owners are definately doing superbly and we will definately be back soon x

My husband and I have visited the Vintage Rose Tearoom twice in the past week. The first time was with the family-all 10 of us! The staff catered extremely well with all the demands of 4 children and 6 adults. We all thoroughly enjoyed our light lunch. Our second visit was to enjoy an afternoon tea on our own. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were all homemade, fresh and delicious. The food and friendly staff mean we will be back soon.

Popped in for a hot chocolate and a scone on a rainy afternoon and we weren't disappointed. A really nice atmosphere.

A 30 minute pitstop here finished off a great day at a great Welsh town.Situated right alongside the railway, this restaurant uses an old railway carriage, catering for 20 or so diners.Expect home-made cakes and sandwiches and quality teas (with free too-ups too!).Our afternoon tea treat consisted of mixed sandwiches, clotted cream scones, yummy barabrith and welsh cake too.The waitress was cheerful and attentive and offered us free tea top-ups quite early on. I thought that they'd struggle to meet my wife's request for decaffeinated tea but it wasn't a problem.I should mention that wheelchair users should book ahead because only a few tables are suitable for use by them.We did notice a couple of car parking spaces right outside that are designated for disabled users.We'll definitely be back, thanks for a lovely tea.

Off the main drag, the tea room provides excellent tea, cakes and other food. Small but comfortable it is a good place for afternoon tea.

Wonderful food from new owners we had the soup of the day which was wholesome and full of flavour and a side of bread and butter came with it . This lovely refurbished tea room was a joy to enter and to be served by great staff and new owner highly recommended when in town

One of the main reasons for choosing to visit Llangollen was the prospect of afternoon tea in what sounded like a lovely tea room, but after driving for around an hour to get there, we found the place was closed for a private party. We'd checked on Facebook beforehand to make sure it was open, and there was nothing suggesting it would be shut. Real disappointment- at least make people aware if you're going to close next time!

Stopped for lunch and a spot of cake, lovely charming tea room with teapots everywhere, even the lamp on the table! Great service and excellent food at a good price. Tucked just off the main high street so make sure you don't miss it!

Visited several times during stay. Lovely friendly service, really reasonable prices, delicious food, pretty decor, vintage China, everything was excellent. If you like vintage & retro this is not to be missed.

We had eaten here 3-4 times now, each time recommended by friends. Unfortunately we have only ever had average meals, finding the food to be cold or differing to the menu is some way.I think there are plenty of other places to eat in the town and this place is very average. On the plus side the staff and owners are always friendly, I just feel that the food does not back it up, great for tea and cake but not a meal

I notice that this place has lots of good reviews, but won't get one from me I'm afraid. Why? Because it was closed. At 3 o'clock on a busy Wednesday afternoon, without explanation and without apology - despite this website saying they were open and their own notice saying that they were open until 4pm. So I went elsewhere, and others did too. Lost custom that can never be recovered.

We have just come back from this tea room and I have to say the experience as a whole was very satisfying. I had a cream tea where you chose your sandwich, cake & you also get a cream scone with jam. The sandwich was disappointing as the horseradish was non existent and was replaced with chunks of onion. I am not adverse to onion by any means but I take aversion to large chunks when it was not described on the menu. The scone was a little "bready" and a touch on the dry side. But the jam &cream made it yummy. We had a couple of kids with us and they enjoyed Their milkshakes and cake. One last criticism is that it took a long time to come once ordered. The drinks came swiftly but I had finished my pot of tea before the cakes arrived, granted it was busy but an additional pot of water would have been nice to top the pot up.There were lots of home made cakes on offer, lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge, coffee and walnut, chocolate and black cherry and the best cake that has ever passed my lips an almond and raspberry cake that was to die for. Moist creamy almondy fruity goodness.I would recommend this place just for this cake alone. If this cake was the last thing to pass your lips before you die you would die happy.

My husband drove me 70 miles on my birthday as I'd expressed a wish for a really nice cream tea and he'd researched that this tea room was very good.He was right! The feel was authentic vintage, the food was lovely and the ladies serving were really friendly and obliging. It deserves it's excellent reputation.

I went here with my mum & my nan for afternoon tea as a birthday treat, could not fault it! Sandwiches were lovely, cakes were to die for! And the scones were out of this world.. All reasonable price too - £8.95 per person! Will definitely be going back

Just off the main street is this lovely little tea rooms. All coffees and teas are served in China cups. A good selection of home made cakes. The owner was very pleasant. Would return.

This little tearoom enticed us back for two more visits in our five days in Llangollen. It's quaint old fashioned china, the lovely home made cakes, scones, Welsh cake and soups were reminiscent of the "good old days" when life was simpler. Lovely!

A glance down a side street is all it took for me to suggest we visit this tearoom. We'd been at the marina a day and the weather was glorious and we were on the hunt for afternoon tea.What a GEMWe came in just as the day was ending and sat in the main area near the window. A chap at the next table told us he loved it here and came all the time. My friend who was a bit giddy decided to have a look around and spotted that there was a smaller room at the back that was laid out like a 1940's living room complete with little crockery cabinets and a matching suite, tall lamps, old radio and other wartime memorabilia .....we immediately trotted into this room and made ourselves comfortable.A lady soon appeared and took our order of afternoon tea x4 which when arrived was in matching teapot, teacups, saucers, jugs, sugar bowl. OMG ....it was like an instagram JACKPOT. Scones with lashings and I mean LASHINGS of real clotted cream not that nasty foam stuff...real fruity strawberry jam and a wee strawberry on the side. It's like an Enid Blyton book come to life!We went to pay and the lady at the counter told us that the day before a lady had ordered an afternoon tea ...finished it and nodded off on the sofa so they left her to have a nap. Brilliant This tearoom is fantastic. The food, the service, the happy locals make it

Really lovely afternoon tea. Food was delicious! The lady working there was lovely and we were served quickly. Would definitely recommend and will be back! They weren't open on Sunday's last year, unsure if this has now changed so best to call and check if you're planning to visit on a Sunday

I attended here for a photo shoot in February 2016. The place itself is stunning, filled with an array of vintage decor and trinkets. Wonderful food, friendly staff. Will be back soon!

We had previously visited the tea room for a cup of coffee and cake and liked it so much we subsequently booked the Vintage Rose Tea Room for a private function for my Mother-in-Law's 90th birthday. We booked the tea room from 4pm and we were not rushed to leave. The cakes and sandwiches were delicious and the birthday cake unbeatable. It is clean, friendly, and the food is excellent; nicely presented. Highly recommended. There were 7 of us on this occasion but we understand that larger parties can be catered for.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Vintage Rose Tea Room yesterday for a friend's Hen Party. The décor was gorgeous as was the food and the service was excellent. This was the best afternoon tea I've had and I would highly recommend it! I will definitely come back :-)

Just love the vintage decor , so much more character than we usually come across these days. A lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly service. China cups and saucers and scones that melt in your mouth. I just wish I lived locally so I could meet my friends here for a chat over a cuppa in the quaint little back parlour.
