Very tasty but didn’t receive the 1/4 tandoori chicken as stated in the mixed grill. Last time when we ordered this we were given a mint sauce and a mango chutney but wasn’t included this time. Was still very nice tasting but not as good second time around!

Village special fried rice was spicyyyy, the chicken bhuna actually tasted like it’s supposed to taste. The veggie Samos were delicious too and spicy! The driver just got a tad lost but all was well and went to the correct address

First time ordering from Village Masaleh & from the reviews we had high hopes. Unfortunately, our expectations weren't met. The curries were not great, arrived in small containers, with barely any chicken & swimming in sauce. The taste wasn't that great & there was little difference between the madras & the vindaloo. The korma, was worse - tasteless and again swimming in sauce. The nan's were ok, and the pilau rice was nice. Felt super expensive for the portion sizes and the overall quality.

Food is really delicious and staff very attentive. However, decor is not very cosy, nor inspired. Everything is quite "square". Feels like a bad dentist waiting room. And in middle of winter, I had the air conditioning blowing in my neck, or the draft of the door. Not sure which. So pick your table and seating carefully, and you'll have a tasty time 😉

The best Indian food south of the Thames no question! Very rich and complex flavours and always care for consistent. I always go for the Lamb Rogan Josh or vindaloo dishes but I've had quite a few of the prawn and chicken dishes and they are all sublime.

The best Jalfrezi I've ever had

This a bang for your buck spot. Is it going to be the best Indian food you’ve ever had? Probably not but at this price, it is good. Also more Vegan friendly due to their choice to use oil instead of Ghee.

A really decent Indian restaurant. I've been going to pick up my order and the staff are always friendly and warm whilst I wait. Food is really good with some very good Veggie options.

As a Punjabi lad I feel I can reliably vouch for Mahesh's authentic home cooking style, (albeit classically trained!). They manage to cook sauces in a healthier manner than many other curry houses, yet without compromising taste. The use of spices is craftsman like! If you're more interested in the food (than say the room), I would highly recommend trying this out...

Driver could not find my address and instead of calling me he decided to go back to the restaurant and once I called they told me they are not going to deliver it after 2 hours waiting and contact just eat for a refund

Really disappointed. The menu has changed and prices have hugely increased whilst the quality of the food has decreased. My Sag paneer was basically just tinned spinach with very little paneer indeed. Same size as the previous side dish but now only available as a "main" for nearly £9. Such a shame as this is our local and we've always enjoyed it but will now have to go elsewhere

26th Jun 2023 My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Yesterday we had a group of 17 for my mother's 95th Birthday and we sat in the garden area. The food and the service was excellent, everyone had a great time. The owners and all the staff at this restaurant are so friendly and helpful and as I said already, the food is great too. Highly recommended.

I booked a party of 29 people for a dinner prior to starting a study conference. The staff at the restaurant were incredibly helpful and when I visited them the day before to check everything was in order they were able to adapt the plan to both the weather and the needs of the group. The food was excellent and the service faultless. I would definitely come back here again

Good local curry. I had the King Prawn masala and the prawns were huge. The fish starter was lovely but a bit too full on for a starter. Really great onion bhajis. The paratha could have been flakier. Atmosphere is ok.

As always the food was delicious. The chefs are amazing and the food was full of flavour. You can taste that the ingredients are good quality and fresh. If you haven’t tried Village Masaleh yet give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

I really like a little spice as well as mostly healthy ingredients. This place serves good quality food and is a popular among locals. Their kebabs and naans need a special mention here. Staff is very courteous and attentive.

This place is great! What a find! We were out enjoying a drink nearby and popped into here before getting a train…the staff were really friendly, the food was excellent and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

Biriani was like pan-heated rice with chicken stirred in. Didn't look nice. Didn't taste nice - absolutely nothing like birianis that every other Indian restaurant has ever supplied. Definitely didn't seem like it had been oven-cooked. Mint sauce was awful - like pale green sludge. My husband's naan bread was completely flat, like it had been pressed. His madras was passable but not delicious.

Price, good. Ambience, quiet. Food, poisoning. I would have been tempted to come here again but, having spent the first half of this week being violently sick after eating the Jalfrezi, I won't be back in a hurry.

I will say the pilau rice was what it was suppose to taste like and the curries had the right amount of heat. I wanted to try them as part of the Cheeky Tuesday and I have to say I was not disappointed. Food arrived well packed and hot.

First time ordering. Never delivered, preordered an hour before the restaurant opened, it's now 11 minute past delivery time promised, and the food's not here. No updates from the restaurant either… Disappointed. Will be contacting Just Eat for a refund.

Ordered collection for 2 dishes. Saag panneer (£6) & prawn korma (£10.50) As you can see from pictures, main dish of korma was given in a small side dish container which shocked me as I've never seen a main dish be given in a side dish container. Especially for the price paid. Saag panneer was not creamy or sweet and as expected as whenever I have had the same dish at any other place, but very bland. Prawn korma is more of a king prawn korma but I wanted usual prawn korma so again, never had this before and not really that creamy too but watery. Sadly both dishes were very very bland and poor all round. Geezer who served me was ok but I did struggle on the phone when making order as I called twice and the first guy I had to repeat myself 3 times as he couldn't understand me. Thumbs down from me in afraid

Originally this was our one stop for an Indian take-away. It had gone quite expensive and so we went to another to trail. Village Masala has fabulous Tandoori grilled king prawns and one food item i would recommend.

The best Indian I’ve found in south London. Proper home cooked Indian food delivered to your door. Really good depth of flavour and fresh fragrant spices. My new favourite

Me and my girlfriend visited this Indian restaurant close to our home. At a first sight , the place did not look appealing, not too many people, abandoned etc However , when the dished came, it was a very nice surprise! Everything was fresh and tasty and customer service really good! Also very affordable!

Butter chicken was watery and no flavour Naan bread was hard and undercooked the veg samosas where ok, overall 2/10 would not order again

Chicken tikka masala was just precooked chicken pieces with sauce identical to cream of tomato soup. Jalfrezi was underspiced and hardly any lamb. Sauce tasted bland. Saag paneer only had 6 small cubes of paneer and over cooked sludgy spinach. Naan was like pre-packed one from the supermarket. Not really impressed sadly.

The biryani wasn't a biryani, rather stir fried fried with lamb curry mixed in. The poppadoms were very over cooked. Shame

Normally it’s really hard to find an excellent Indian in London as I went to uni in Leicester and there were no shortages of really good Indian takeaways. I must say though, this food was up there with the very best. The portion sizes were ok, but I didn’t mind as I only needed two meals anyway from my order. The delivery guy was really friendly too.

Village Massaleh not only serve the best natural cooked indian food, but more importantly, they treat the customer in a specially friendly and respectfull manner. We come constantly to try new plates and they never dissapoint!!! Paratha is my favourite choice of bread to accompany the dishes!

I can only say, how wonderful it is to be able to have proper Indian food on my door step! Being Indian myself, it's the best food! Such a lovely atmosphere, with friendly people. Worth a visit. There is also a lovely garden area.

Village Masaleh is consistently good. The food tasted amazing, the ingredients were fresh and it was a real treat to eat. My thanks to the very talented chefs.

Great host and welcoming atmosphere but the food tasted reheated. It felt that the meat and the sauce were cooked separately and lacked the depth of flavour I would have expected. I could not recommend avoiding as there are other much better restaurants in the local vicinity.

Lamb biryani was good 8/10. Portions were very small. Chicken madras 6/10 and lamb dansak was 2/10 terrible I have tried almost every single Indian restaurants in south London. So I needed to try this. Unfortunately I will not be ordering again. Thank You. I left good rating good luck

Village Masaleh cook the best Indian food that I’ve tasted in a long time. I’ve eaten in the restaurant and you can see the kitchen and it’s spotless. You can taste that the ingredients are fresh and all the dishes have their own unique flavour. Truly delicious and good value. I’ll be ordering from them again.

Not bad for a first order, but not not great either. Wrap mostly salad, and chicken very dry like it was frozen chicken overcooked in microwave

I don't really like ordering Indian food from places in UK as they are quite bland and unauthentic. But I really need to give kudos to this place for getting everything right. I normally order for delivery which is excellent but for a change I decided to pop down around 6 o'clock. Everything was made from scratch, hearing the sound of chopping somehow added to the fact that those may have been the best onion bhajis I've tasted. The Chicken Tikka Karahi was similarly excellent and refreshing to have it with a cold beer. I may never order delivery again.

The food was absolutely delicious and you could tell that a lot of love had gone into making it. If anything, the Phal could be even hotter(!) but apart from that perfect. Many thanks 😊

We have awoken a sleeping giant. For decades we have endured below average curries ever since our old curry house lost its chef and its standards. Our world was in darkness. 04/03/22, mothers birthday - by recommendation of a friend we tried Village Masaleh. We were stunned by the quality and flavour! My father who is notoriously hard to please and likes nothing said this is the best curry he's had in years. Every dish tasted different. Some curry houses taste like they use the same sauce for everything but this was exceptional. The meat was really tender and the king prawns tasted extremely fresh. After decades our world has been reawakened. Village masaleh is the best, if you don't agree then you have no tatse and probably enjoy decaf tea with almond milk.

Superb, authentic Indian food. Always fresh and the service is excellent, we particularly like the veggie sides.

Me and my girlfriend came here and were pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere and decor were fine the starters were good but the meal really took off when we got to the mains. Garlic chilli and coriander naan was so tasty and portions are great plus excellent value :) Staff are also really friendly and accommodating I don’t judge on uniform and decor as it’s food and service that are the most important 5/5

Terrible, dry meat, no flavour to the curries, 2 of them tasted exactely the same. The roti wasn’t tandoori as ordered. So disappointing since I thought we’d found a good new restaurant near my home. Extremely disappointed.

When I called them they kept telling me it was on its way. It took way too long. When I asked for a refund they hung up on me!

My first time ordering food from this local restaurant. Fish pakora was generous and very tasty with garlic dip. Achari chicken with coconut rice was delicious, tender and full of flavour. Very good👍🏻

We loved our order. Everything was delicious (keema rice and lamb dupiaza the best we ever had!!!!). However the butter chicken is not how it normally looks. It looks like there was no cream in it- it was very harsh tomato sauce. We called restaurant as we thought that they mixed up the orders and we were ensured that it is butter chicken just not the way other restaurants serve it. Normally we would have knock a star or two off, but the gentleman who picked up the phone was just amazing, polite and super friendly. Wish every restaurant has such a great service!!!! We would definitely recommend this place, but probably not when you are in the mood for traditional creamy butter chicken :).

I got a takeaway from here. Amazing food, well priced and the guys there were really friendly. I picked up some shopping when I was waiting, but you can sit in the garden, have a beer, watch the football. 100% recommended.

Large mixed grill for £16 pounds was very very disappointing with just chicken and 2 lamb chops. Had so much better from other restaurants. Would not consider ordering from here again.
