The food in here is excellent, and it's easy to see why it's rated so highly, locally. There's a small, cheap car park approx 100m away, where you can park up while you come and treat yourself to some of the best fish and chips Streatham has to offer.

Fresh fish, tasty, and great service. Might not be the cheapest, but it’s a fresh fish so you know what you are paying for.

Medium Cod & Chips + can of Coke £15.10 eaten in the shop. That's a pricey F&C so let's quickly go through what we got: The fish itself was very good; a sizeable piece of cod, freshly fried (I waited 10 minutes for it) and the batter was light and crispy. Biting in gave a nice crunch and there was a hot, succulent and flaky fillet inside - dare I use the word 'thicc' haha. Anyway full marks for the fish from a taste perspective but at £10.50 it's at the 'v.exp' end of town considering the chippy near my mum's does a large cod for 7 quid. The letdown for me were the chips. The chips given are more like steakhouse style, i.e. long rectangular and flat instead of your traditional chippy square-cross section chip and to be honest I didn't really care for them. I don't know if they cut these in-house but I would not be surprised if these are frozen; certainly they have the taste of a mass-produced potato fry and although they're crispy outside, the insides were mealy and lacking in flavour. Sorry, low marks for chips and they cost £3. Overall, this was an adequate fish and chips, let down by the style of chips offered (some might prefer those, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that 9/10 F&C aficionados will not be impressed by them) and the overall price. I know there's a cost of living crisis, yes I do, but I can still get a good cod and chips elsewhere for around half this price and then add a quid for a can of Tango and will probably be happier. Having said this. it's not the price that would deter me from going again, but the chips. 'Service' was good. What can I say - it's a chippy not a restaurant. At least they didn't ask me to pay tips.

Food was great, massive portions and fast service

Hi me and my mum we had fish and chips from there the chips were excellent and very tasty and hot the cornish pasties were horrible very bland nasty and no flavour

I went to get Fish and chips for Mum and myself. Fish was cooked fresh so I had a while for that to be prepared but it was well worth the wait, as we both enjoyed it very much.

I used to come here years ago before it changed owner and it used to be my friday regularly fish and chips. The service is now very cold. Chips tasted like cardboard and fish was very underwhelming. Very disappointing. Better fish and chips shops in London.

Chips were cold and tasted like old socks the! The fish wasn't cooked properly and full of oil, and the service is so poor the woman who served me had a face like a spanked bottom! Save your money its not worth it. Just a pity there aren't other fish n chips shop nearby

Having eaten in Kennedys on goswell road. The Kennedys here for the price is not worth it. The food does not taste fresh/good, would not recommend. Not going back, there's better fish and chips in the area.

Grill Salmon & Chips, I got to say I enjoyed my meal. I do order from Kennedy's on a regular and I must say chips is always fresh and a decent portion, first time I've ordered the Salmon and I will be ordering again!! Delicious!! Presentation is also 👌 well done to all the Staffs who aim to please their customers

The staff approach was terrible, specially the bald guy . He asked my daughter if we had money to pay for extra fries . Not in a friendly manner . Also said if u don’t like the way I talk go elsewhere. I was insulted in front of my kids .

Below average. The garlic pasta is bland and not worth more than a couple of quid. Fish cold and calamari extremely greasy. Mediocre and overpriced.

Very good fish. Everything is fresh and large portions of thick-cut fries. I couldn't eat whole meal. I will be back for sure soon.

Had chips and steak and kidney pie. The chips were oily and not nice, steak and kidney pie was dry and tasteless.

After seeing customers queuing outside many years ago, I had to find out what this place was all about. I wish I hadn't because the chips were raw and the prices are EXCESSIVE. It seems to be empty nowadays and I am not surprised. I do not expect them to last another 10 years but then again with the extortionate prices, who knows! Go to Billingsgate Market and make your own! According to the reviews, it seems they've gone downhill.

Kennedy's is my favourite fish and chip shop in London. I have been to a few over the years. The good, bad and the ugly but this place is always immaculately clean, the best ingredients and the best cooks. It's definitely on par with Seashell of Lisson Grove which says a lot about the quality of the place.

The delivery was quick, but I had no idea chips could be so bland. The fish was equally unimpressive... completely lacking in flavor. The portions were huge, but with such an emphasis on quantity over quality that didn't do much to improve the overall negative eating experience. I'm honestly puzzled by the rave reviews.

Longstanding Streatham institution with good elevated a level from most fast food outlets. Excellent sausages and pies and also fish.

Sometimes there good but not consistently. Could go on a bad day and it be very mediocre. Got my order wrong and charged me for things I didn't even order. The sad reality is if you want amazing fish and chips in London you have to go to borough market or somewhere central. Everywhere else unfortunately just serves very mediocre fish and chips.

Uber eats orders, found hair in my food on about three occasions, tried to give benefit of the doubt each time because these guys used to be my go-to a few years ago but its really not the same anymore. Been times where the cod has tasted weird and had a very high pitch smell coming of it. Im not coming back anymore unfortunately.

The fish looked incredible , the size is good , the price is expensive but so is everything these days . Sadly by the time I arrived home (7minute drive) the fish that we bought was soggy and all the batter had stuck to the bag. It’s promoted as crispy batter on their advertising board but it’s soggy and wet. I would go there again and ask them not to pack the fish into the bag but maybe into a chip box . Gutted

Overcharged me by nearly 50% and their refund never came through. Good fish tho lol

Great service and didn't have to wait long considering how busy it was. Sadly the eating experience wasn't the same. Cod was slightly crunchy on one side, soggy as anything on the other, and pure mush on the inside. Lacked all flavour indicating that the fish was badly frozen. Chips were undercooked, soft and bland. Left most the food leaving me hungry. Not going back. Mushy bland mess.

Prior to this the new management I’ve been going to this chip shop without any complaints since the new management has taken over this chip shop it has totally gone down hill the Customer service is terrible and the fish is overpriced wet soggy fish and the people running the front counter are so rude i’ve been living in this area more than 15 years and after today as I said to the lady behind the counter I will never ever use this fish shop again and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

I’ve been here twice and honestly the best Fish and Chips I’ve had! The Cod is super fresh and the batter is of perfect consistency. It looked very clean in the shop and the customer service was on point they genuinley looked happy to serve. Super impressed:)

Disappointed beyond words. After years of using this great chippy, we won’t be returning. Food delivered was barely warm and arrived after an hour and twenty minute wait. No large chips for which we paid over £5. My medium cod alone was £12.55! Soggy batter too. Sadly, not worth even half the £52 we spent on the food. Never again.

Yuk. Ordered throu Uber. Delivery Brill, but the food was not nice. The chips really greasy and the fish had a strange taste to it. Expensive too... Particularly as most went in the bin. Never again

I am updating my review because it seems some new people have moved to the area who don't know what good fish and chips taste like and have given it one star. Idiots. Don't take any notice of these spoiled brats. I have been going here for 7 years and the standards are just as high. Yes sometimes the staff are a bit abrupt, its a busy and well run business and still the best fish and chip shop in South London.

Very dissapointing - abrupt customer service and expensive for a very oily meal. Paid £16.30 for a large cod & chips, mushy peas & can of Dr pepper. At this price was hoping for the food to be decent but was overly oily and not tasty. I couldn't finish my meal, would NOT recommend! 1 star for clean premises

All of us locals know it's THE place to go. Check it out on a friday evening there's a line snaking put of the shop so that's all you need to know! My personal fav is the calamari, big crispy and tasty rings! One thing I should add is cleanliness and hygiene is 10*s here. Actually been in the shop nearer to close time and seen how they strip everything everytime to clean. Also through out the day too! So not only do they serve the best fish and chips around they make sure it comes out of an ultra clean shop!

Have been dreaming about getting here for a while. Landed in UK today and grapped take away. Awesome plaice and salad and wonderful rock and chips. Did not dissapoint. They have pies and a choice of charbroiled, a great neighborhood chippy like from my childhood without the ink rubbing off the newspaper as you ate your chips back in the day.

What happened! This place used the be the best but now the fish is the same standard as you'd get from a dodgy kebab shop. I'm really sad, their chips are still pretty good though.

Staying in area and needed dinner so chanced on this chippy, fish expensive so went for pies, was not disappointed! Really nice pastry, good fillings, large portion of chips could've fed four not two, ordered mushy peas and two pickles, less than £15 for the lot. Would eat from again if I was in the area.

I just went in to Kennedy’s fish and chips and ordered fish and chips with onion vinegar for my elderly agoraphobic aunt. The young guy accidentally put vinegar on the chips so he offered to change it which I was happy with. I saw his colleague tell him off in her language and then gave me the food. I didn’t realise until I gave my aunt the chips (she started choking due to the allergic reaction to the vinegar which I asked to put on the chips!) I realise the lady gave me back the same chips which had vinegar on it!😡😡😡 thank god my aunt is feeling a little better (no thanks to this shop!)

Probably the worst fish and chips I’ve had for some time. Soggy batter and soft, nearly inedible cod. The chips were good and this is the only reason for 2 stars. I hope this was a one off as it’s normally good, if very expensive for SW London.

As far as Fish & Chip shops in Streatham go this is about the best you will get .

I think the quality of steak burger has gone down compared to few years ago. Meat tatests like normal mince instead of steak mince. Needless to say,their fish and chips, calamaries are always the best

Fantastic fish and chip, pies and mushy peas. It's no wonder there are always queues but worth the wait and travelling from afar.

Food is always good here - especially the cheeky Cumberland sausage for the walk home! - but service can be slow because it's so popular. They also take phone orders which can seem to take property over people in the shop, which isn't right. But great overall!

Flavor only exist in batter, and fish is 100% blunt and tasteless. So if you happen to finish the batter, then it's almost impossible to eat fish alone. I am not moaning about spices, as there is no need of spices in this great dish; however, at least the fish meat should have some salt absorbed. Chips are Okay. I have to agree that it's overpriced.

Best fish and chips in London, if not the country

Not cheap but great produce and worth it IMHO. Sadly waiting times at weekends have been increased due to the amount of delivery riders. (I'm sure people don't realise that these companies charge you a 30% premium plus delivery for the privilege)

Was in the mood for Olleys but decided to try something different. However, despite the reviews I thought it was very average food. My sister's and I all agreed that the batter for the sausage in batter was unpleasantly thick and the fish was greasy. Wouldn't recommend it and I won't be back.

I had to write a review! This IS the best chip shop in London! When you fancy chips, what you actually want is chips from THIS chip shop. We had large chips and cod, it was fresh, not greasy a nice batter, the taste was amazing, both chips and cod tasted exactly what you fancy. Do not waste your time going anywhere else, make the trip, get theses chips !
