Bar far the best Indian food I’ve had in a long long time. The lamb is exceptional here as were the rest of our dishes. What really made our evening though was the outstanding service from Zyber and the team. Zyber went above and beyond to accommodate us and we cannot wait to return as there were many delicious specialities that we want to try. An all round fabulous experience. Thank you Zyber and team for your fantastic service and a top notch meal. Well Done!

Visited for the first time just before Christmas in a group of ten friends with wives. The food was excellent, the service was great and we had a throughly enjoyable experience. We have decided we will repeat the experience once our tummy’s are ready following the Christmas excesses! Congratulations and thank you.

These guys know their way to please you; both food and service are quality! There is no where to hide here as its BYOB, never disappoints!

Our experience at Village Indian Restaurant yesterday was disappointing, to say the least. We had booked a table for three over the phone for a quiet Monday evening. On arrival, the restaurant was nearly empty, with just six other diners present. We were promptly asked if we’d like poppadoms, followed by a mixed grill. The mixed grill, priced at £16.90, was underwhelming—one small kebab, four tiny chicken pieces, and a minuscule lamb chop with barely any meat on it. It left us wondering how this even qualified as a "mixed grill." Though the taste was okay, it was far from impressive. Feeling unsatisfied, we decided to order some curry. Abdul, who was attending to us, suggested "Kamasutra Chicken" and lamb curry, which totaled around £27. He remarked that other curries were more suited for non-Asian tastes, a comment we found surprising and somewhat off-putting. Ten minutes after our curries arrived, Abdul returned and told us that the chef was unhappy with the way we were ordering in stages, claiming it disrupted the workflow. He insisted that we place all our orders at once or consider dining elsewhere, despite the restaurant being half-empty. His tone was rude, and his demeanor aggressive, completely ruining the dining experience. Reluctantly, we ordered our mains, but by then, the atmosphere was ruined. We left most of the food untouched, as it became impossible to enjoy the evening. The quality of the food itself was mediocre, with nothing standing out as exceptional. This was the first time we’ve ever encountered such unprofessional behavior, with a chef dictating how diners should order and a staff member making us feel unwelcome. I hope the restaurant management addresses Abdul's attitude and ensures better customer service in the future. Sadly, this ruined what should have been a pleasant night out. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I have been coming to the village for years now and it never disappoints. The food is the best around and the service is fantastic. The staff are so friendly and look after every need especially Zuber who is wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and I guarantee you will keep coming back.

We had my daughter’s birthday meal here last night and as soon as we walked in , we was met by the very welcoming and friendly staff. The food was as fantastic and the service was the same. Very accommodating allowing you to bring your own alcohol. Will be back for sure !

The food is exceptional quality. We have been customers for about 15 years. The food is so fresh, flavours are perfection. We have tried others but this is hands down our favourite. You won’t find better Indian food in Essex

Absolutely lovely food and staff were so friendly. I ordered the award winning kama sutra dish and I was definitely not disappointed! Even the poppadoms and sundries were amazing! Restaurant is extremely clean and well looked after and the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. It was the perfect venue for a girly night out. Thank you to all the team xx

First takeaway from here had a chicken madras had no heat to it at all was bland had been told this by a friend who ate in but thought I would try it anyway need a good Indian takeaway in upminster

Food is 60 mins late when calling restaurant they added additional 20 mins on top Food was cold was promised it wouldn’t be cold. Was in fact colder than England in the winter. Won’t ever order from here again.lady on the phone couldn’t have cared if she had tried. Will be calling up to this further. If the food was good quality wouldn’t have mattered as much. Prawns was tone cold Chicken from chicken tikka was tougher than anything I’ve ever had. Was dripping with water. Highly recommend nobody ordering from here much better restaurants in Hornchurch/upminster for a Indian cuisine

I appreciate good food, but when it comes to ordering a take away at 7:25pm for it to say 40mins to an hour for delivery I can accept that, but however when it comes to the phone call of you asking where the food is it’s a whole different story. The telephone manner isn't it’s actually pretty poor ‘ saying I can’t hear you’ repeatedly for them to only saying it will be a further 15-20mins however then phoning back after the time was told for a further 7-10mins.. only to get told when I phone back it’s just left. Food was cold when we was promised twice it won’t Be.

I've been using this restaurant since it opened and have had nothing but superb food and great service. Every time we attend, the staff are so welcoming and attentive, they set a standard for others to follow. The food is cooked fresh to order and tastes divine! They've also now started on offers on Sundays and Birthdays which make it even better value for money. The menu is varied and has some amazing specials that are mouthwateringly too good to miss! Well done Zuber, keep up the good work with team at the best restaurant in the area. 👏👏👏

Visited the Village on a Sunday evening for a 60th birthday party with family and friends. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service from Zuber and the team was excellent, accommodating everyone in a warm and friendly manner. A wonderful time was had by all and I would highly recommend this venue for a party or celebration. Please note you can bring along your own beer or spirits, soft drinks can be provided by the restaurant. There is also a shop next door for alcohol if you do not wish to carry to the restaurant. Well done Zuber and all the team.

Fantastic restaurant with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food is amazing and very tasty. Everytime I have dined in this restaurant I have never had a bad meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Really love this place - food is honestly the best Indian cuisine I have tasted, and Zuber is incredibly welcoming. BYOB and they kindly store in the fridge for you. 10/10 would recommend

The gherkas revenge is a an amazing dish packed full of meat and is a unique recipe to Village. Zuber was an amazing waiter.

Hands down the best Madras I have ever had. All side dishes were equally fantastic. You can tell ingredients are fresh and it’s prepared with love and care. Highly recommend.

We moved to Upminster 4 years ago but only went to village Indian restaurant for the first time on Tuesday 28th May 2024. We have visited the other restaurants ie Ginger Spice, Kushoom Bugh and Masala Grill which are also quite good but for us the Village Indian tops the bill in taste the price and the portion size and service by the waiters. I’m sure if it was moved up nearer to Station Road it would attract much more customers as that was the reason we hadn’t been there before. We will be returning.

Went last night - food tasted good and enjoyed the evening but because it’s BYO you are paying a lot for your meal and the mushroom rice at almost £4 is the smallest portion I’ve ever seen - not even enough for a small child. Embarrassingly greedy by the restaurant. So I won’t be going back

The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Our waiter Zuber was just fantastic. Very friendly and nothing too much trouble. He brought out me out a special dessert (with a candle!) and even sang Happy Birthday! Will return soon.

Excellent Service - they're very fast at clearing plates and drinks arrived very quickly. A brilliant place to have a party with family/friends. Will definitely be back again!

Lovely Indian restaurant, Kama Sutra is a spicy and delicious dish, we recommend it. Zuber is a friendly and attentive waiter. It's also bring your own booze (BYOB) too, which is awesome and a welcome addition to Upminster. Big thumbs up all round!

Beautiful delicious food. Some of the softest lamb from a curry house we’ve ever eaten. My salmon was lush and the chicken was lovely too. Amazing service and reasonably priced, especially as drinks are bring your own. Servers are amazing, Zuber was our waiter and he was fantastic. Don’t go anywhere else in Upminster for a curry

The food was nice, but insanely late. Took 1 hour 20 minutes to deliver to a house less than a 100 yards away! It would take less time to make some of these dishes from scratch. Don’t accept orders once you get over a 40-50 window.
