Village Hotel Leeds South in Leeds

I am a member of the gym at Village Hotel Leeds & I have been Since 2023. I have loved going since the very beginning as the staff are extremely helpful as well as polite.The gym and spa facilities are clean every time! Overall, it’s a lovely place to be whether you’re in the spa or the gym . I would recommend to everyone to enjoy these facilities!! 10/10

Great rooms and spa facility for what you pay

Booked dbb rate. Room spacious, huge tv but just a mattress on the floor for my son. View from the window was a wall. Pool, sauna, etc all excellent. Evening meal disappointing. Given £50 allowance to feed 3 people. Not everything on the menu was available. Left hungry. Will stick to Holiday Inns in future. Far better quality of food.

The staff are excellent, great service and good food suggestions. Hannah was great and made sure we were looked after throughout our meeting. We will be back !!

If you include charging stations, it is good to specify “only for Tesla”. For charging in hidden time it's a failure. The rest is very good, welcome, size of the rooms, breakfasts. Be careful of rooms with windows facing the highway, they are poorly soundproofed.

Great facilities - nice pool area which was clean and well equipped. Good grill restaurant and handy Starbucks on site. Hotel decor is very fun and funky, with neon signs and a very modern and trendy style. Awoken by loud drilling at 8.10am. Did speak to reception about it during check out but they advised it was works ongoing in the Gym area, and they were permitted to start at 9am. I explained it was earlier than this (have recording, it was so loud), and I suggested it would be more appropriate if guests are warned about this, or put in rooms away from this. Room was very clean, bathroom was not - bath plughole cap didn't open to let shower water drain, so I had to remove the cap, but the water still very slow to drain as it was clogged with soap scum. Black mould around the top of the shower gel dispenser. Mould also on the hand held shower head. The plastic seal on the bottom of the shower screen was broken, so when I got out the shower I realised water from the shower had leaked out onto the bathroom floor, making not only the floor wet, but also my clothes. Also meant when my son went to use the sink he had to put shoes on to avoid getting wet feet. Reception staff pleasant but not overly helpful - I asked 3 times how the parking worked (I'd entered my reg during check in but they'd not explained payment). On departure asked again and only then they took payment - I didn't want to get a fine (up to 4 hours is free, then £5 per day). Check out staff also noticed I'd been charged for pool usage the day before, even though it was included in family room rate, so they cancelled that charge. Staff in the pool area were lovely and really attentive. Pool is clean, and there's a whirlpool in the main pool, and a warm jacuzzi area, together with cold plunge pool, sauna and steam room. Changing rooms were clean and well maintained. Grill restaurant/ bar area was decorated well, clean and tidy. We didn't eat here as disappointing lack of vegan & vegetarian options (it's 2025 - keep up!) Having a Starbucks within the reception lobby is a good idea, but also means the young professionals who've clogged up the pool and gym in the evening, are clogging up the cafe tables in the morning. This hotel is great if you want a bit of fun and are pleased by the trendy vibe, but aren't too bothered about cleanliness and service.

Stayed there for 1 night. It was peaceful. Rooms were tidy and the staff was super friendly. Looking at a big breakfast menu after a swimming session in the hotel was a perfect start of the day.

Katy and Kelly are great on gym reception. Super helpful and always smiling.

I’ve had an outstanding experience at the Village Gym South Leeds, and a huge part of that is thanks to the incredible leadership of Gym Manager Josh. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, energising, and genuinely supportive — a reflection of the high standards Josh clearly sets and upholds across the team. Josh leads by example. His professionalism, approachability, and passion for health and fitness are evident in everything he does. He takes the time to get to know members, listen to feedback, and make sure everyone feels valued — whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer or just starting your fitness journey. His presence on the gym floor is reassuring, and you can see the positive impact he has on both staff morale and member satisfaction. The gym itself is always clean, well-organised, and fully equipped, and there’s a clear sense of pride in maintaining a high-quality space. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and motivated — again, a credit to Josh’s leadership. I’d highly recommend Village Gym South Leeds to anyone looking for a top-tier fitness experience, and I can’t thank Josh enough for making it such a positive and inspiring place to be. From the greeting when walking in to smiles from staff, it’s a warm welcome from the team. Once through the barriers and up the stairs there’s a cleanly, well equipped gym and use of rooms. Can also connect your own music to the big speakers in one of them ! Manager Josh was very helpful with any questions I had about the building and equipment. Anything I needed, he was happy to help. Was nice to find all of the pool facilities and would like to point out how well maintained everything is. Big thanks to Josh and the Gym team for looking after me in my visit

Great stay and facilities as always

I've stayed at Village South Leeds several times, for work and play! The service is always great, met with a smile, food is lush and when I've asked for a quiet room, it has actually been quiet. Gym is fab too, plenty of kit! Classes are equally as good! I'll continue to use it!!

My first stay in a Village Hotel. Pleasant surprise. Enjoyed the gym and pool. There was allegedly an issue with the gas so the menu was limited but overall - great - and I'll be back again

There for a formal dinner. The food was good but portions were what I would describe as average in size. Would highly recommend paying the extra for the new world Sauvignon Blanc which was very drinkable.

Just been for a spuddie at village hotel. My advice keep your money £8 for a dry cold potato. It is far from overloaded. My son got chicken curry with his there was 1 piece of diced chicken in it the rest was sauce. Extreme rip off.

The room was nice however we found broken glass on the floor when my partner accidently trod on it and cut his foot. We ordered 2 meals via the QR code on the village menu provided in the room, after waiting for over an hour we went downstairs to query the waiting time and were told they didn't have our order on the system. Money taken out for the lack of food but refund hasn't been recieved. Contact made with a manager but no follow thru after missing a couple of calls back and forth. No further contact from the manager as reply suggests and no refund for the food we didn't recieve.

I always enjoy staying at this hotel. Although it is quite far from the town centre, it's a short drive and the hotel is great value with free parking.

The manager a blonde lady early 50s very rude and disrespectful to the workers there, everyone warned me about her avoid the place if you can.

Very nice hotel. Nice bar and breakfast. Also has a gym and pool etc. highly recommend

I’ve haven’t stayed in the hotel this is just regarding the gym and pool facilities. Firstly the gym, has enough equipment but is very small. Changing rooms, decent size, kept relatively clean, but you get people who just leave towels on the floor. However have removed half of the hair dryers in there. Pool and spa and showers, the pool is 25m not much to say about that, steam rooms is disgusting with grime covering the walls, sauna has had a dodgy door from when I joined, but is okay. Showers are terrible with mould all over the ceilings, they smell awful. Tried to cancel my membership as it’s expensive for what it is and they put their prices up in January, but got told I was locked in for a 12 month contract and can’t leave till the 12 months is up.

Katie and Helen in Starbucks are fantastic, always have a smile on their faces and very helpful when I'm using it as a work hub. Makes my day a lot better

As a regular at the pub and grill maisie serves me frequently and is a massive help with my food orders always in a good mood and lifts the spirit off her colleagues will be coming back.

Lovely room, with good service. Right next to the motorway which won’t suit anyone. Badly let down by a daft ‘policy’ that allows children to be poolside making an absolute racket during adult only times. When I challenged this I was told it was ok because the kids weren’t in the pool!!!!! Not ok in my view. Makes a mockery of adult time.

Would like to leave a review for the Starbucks staff. Helen and Katie are always friendly as he and helpful. They remember your order and make great coffee!!

8/1/24 I am midwife who was on shift when the vehicle I was traveling had a popped tired on the motorway and I was stood in the freezing cold. I had managed to get to the hotel and Lee was great showing amazing hospitality and compassion towards my situation. She had made me a cup of tea and provided me with a heater and good conversation. I definitely would rate this hotel for its service.

This is truly one of the best value-added hotels in Leeds. Kerry the general manager, deserves special recognition for his focus on both the internal team and external guests, which undoubtedly makes the hotel such a success. From Anthony at Starbucks, Leah, Claudia, and Lena at reception, Haika from the restaurant, to Simon and Kate from the SPAR team—every staff member was incredibly friendly, attentive, and ensured our stay was fantastic. The spa is one of the best in Leeds, with excellent facilities including a pool, gym, and everything you need for a relaxing leisure break. The team’s professionalism and warmth were outstanding, making it impossible to fault this hotel. Thanks to kerry’s exceptional leadership, I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!”

Visited leeds south for a last minute night away. Room, and gym/pool were fantastic as always with village hotels. However the crown must go to Lily, in the bar/restaurant. Her hospitality is second to none, she's so attentive, kind, professional and genuinely a down to earth person. We experienced a slight issue, and she was ontop of it in a flash. Made me not even think about the problem any longer and focused on just how good the service was, once again. She's a credit to village hotels and I'd hire her in a heartbeat.

Stayed at the hotel December 24, many issues, just to name a few, been given a different room to what I paid for, no heating in the room. Issues reported, but nothing was done during my stay. I made a complaint back in December 24 & I have had no reply. All I get told is it's been passed on & someone will be in touch, as of yet almost 4 weeks later no one has been in touch, when I ask for an update I get told someone will be in touch. Would not stay here again & would not recommend this hotel any longer. Update - so if you want a reply to your complaint, you have to leave a review. Were you get a lacklustre, half-hearted response. Very disappointed, only addresses 1 issue, & had to be asked why not addressed all issues. Honestly not worth the money or the time, would not recommend to stay here at all ever.

Rooms where ok, stayed here for 2 nights with evening meal, lunch and breakfast. Reasonable size rooms but could do with a bit of attention to detail on cleaning. Seamed a bit short staffed in the bar/restaurant but they where friendly and did their best.

I use the gym and am always impressed with how clean Dale keeps the changing rooms. Always spotless!

Very good spot and very good service especially from Tahir

I came in a few days ago, loved the place, lifeguard called Tahir showed us around and was helpful.

It was a great experience all because of a kind and generous staff member L.A Tahir Shukrullah. This young boy made our visit fantastic and was very helpfull.

I use the pool here quite regularly and Dale does a fantastic job of keeping the area lovely and clean as well as being polite and professional.

Hired a meeting room, freezing all day. Lunch in the bar area good though. They got my colleagues order wrong however!

Truly a great place to go Katie the leisure receptionist was marvellous and extremely helpful and very welcoming and Karen was also helpful when giving me some tips on how to use the gym equipment.

Recently came into club with Bradford Bulls Women’s team to do a class. Vic was amazing, the class she set up was great and she was so helpful!

Stayed a few times great value for money. First time using the leisure facilities, Katie on reception made it very straight forward, she was friendly and informative. 10/10

I have used the gym at village several times and it is a good place to be. There is one guy who is super friendly when he is working, Dale. The changing rooms are always spotlessly clean when he is working and always says hello. 5 stars for Dale, some of the other staff need to up their game to be more like Dale

I'm a regular visitor to the village gym. They have a wide range of equipment and an excellent pool area. The staff are always helpful, there is one particular member of staff called Dale and the changing rooms and pool area are kept spotless when he is working.

I came in with my husband to try the Sauna and steam room. The lifeguard, Tahir, was very helpful. He explained the answer to all our questions and was overall very helpful. Will definitely be returning.

Went to this hotel last week and had a wonderful time,good customer service,clean rooms and I also went to try out the gym and swimming facilities thanks to the life guard Tahir for being friendly and understanding he told me the benefits of the ice pool and sauna and showed me how it all worked

I visited this place a few weeks ago, and Tahir, the staff member I interacted with, was incredibly helpful. He was very engaged in his work, frequently checking in to ensure I was navigating the large building without any issues. The service provided by the team was outstanding, and I highly recommend it.

I've been at village for the past three years, and the staff have always been a highlight of the gym. Dale always keeps changing rooms spotless and all the staff are a good chat.

Came in on a guest pass, really enjoyed the place, ice pool was amazing and the lifeguard Tahir was very helpful.

Such a nice clean place to stay and exercise the staff are very polite and friendly .. the place is immaculately clean in the gym area there’s a chap especially that’s works there very attentive I think his name was Dale when I asked him ..always happy to help asking if your ok with a smile on his face and stuck in to cleaning round ..all the staff say hello on the way in and good by have a nice day on the way out … very nice place I highly recommend

It was a wonderful experience. Since it was my first time going, I was worried because I didn't know the place very well. But the lifeguard, Tahir, was a very helpful gentleman. Not only did he guide me but also gave me a tour of the place and I was very grateful for that. I definitely do recommend this place. The staff are very welcoming and go over and beyond to really offer you a well tailored service. Thank you so much!

It's probably decent if you want an overnight stay with a gym/pool, but as it's January, it seemed extremely busy. That's probably the reason why it was so cold in the restaurant because of people coming in and out.

Good location and great quality rooms. Reception staff Lina and Sarah go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Lovely food and drinks and the service from Matas was outstanding.
