Village Hotel Coventry in Coventry

The lady at reception was lovely, she let me change my room due to an issue with smell in the first. I encountered a problem with trying to use the kettle as the cable is too short to plug in and stand it up properly, I used it on a tilt. The rooms are medium sized, a lot of colour for a bedroom but that might be my personal opinion, quiet and clean otherwise with parking. Breakfast is not the best quality and limited variety but otherwise not bad and buffet style so you can eat whatever you wish. I had an issue with my sink, there was no way to take the plug out and a few other little bits like that. Overall, a solid option for a standard hotel with minor issues.

Room was a bit tired, especially the bathroom and could do with a decent renovation, but the bed was comfortable, everything worked and the price was good value so no real complaints. Staff were great and with the hotel being just a couple of miles to the Warwick Arts Centre, was good for an overnight post-gig stay.

Hotel with a strange layout. To get to the room required going up a floor, down a long corridor, down two floors and then along to the room, which is one of the longer journeys I’ve done. The room itself was OK, warm, but there is no view out the window (straight onto the back of an industrial building) and as others have mentioned, was very dark even with all the lights on. Food was very good in the bar area, the place was very busy on Saturday night. Gym was huge, plenty of space in the free car park. We were awoken at night by the local Fast and Furious drivers but they seemed to get moved on quickly. Breakfast food good. Reasonable hotel, but some downsides.

very disappointed with the Coventry Hotel. Paid £150 for a weekend for my sons JDC darts event for them to not have a dart board (did last time) and only practice board you have to pay £10ph. Will stay somewhere else the next 6 events.

Service at the bar. At least look like you are enjoying your work.

Village Hotel in Coventry is such a fantastic hotel, and the amenities are absolutely brilliant, and the food is absolutely brilliant. Village Hotel's are so much better than any Premier Inn or Travelodge put together highly recommended.

What a lovely hotel! Staff are really friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much effort. Really clean and well managed facilities. Food was superb. Really looking forward to staying again! Would definitely recommend.

We attended the Retro 80s Tribute night & it was amazing! We had the best time, the DJ, staff and the food were great. We stayed the night and the rooms were clean and breakfast was lovely. Was perfect for our girls night out We will definitely book more of these Tribute Nights!!!!

The room I stayed in wasn't the cleanest, dust was everywhere, the mattress was stained quite heavily, there were droplet stains on the coffee tray, the vegan options available were slim which was disappointing.

Didn't rate rooms as I didn't stay there but when there for a conference. Location was good as was the service.

We stayed in room 404 a club room last weekend. The room a clean well presented and had everything we needed. However it was a VERY dark room. With every light and large TV screen on it was DARK. Not enough lights and those that there had very dull bulbs in them. There were 2 lights in the entrance which were bright but that’s where it ended. The room was a good size which made the lighting issue even worse. This had to be the least well lit hotel room I have had ever - and I have stayed in hundreds over the years globally. Had access with the club package to the pool, steam room and sauna. Staff were quite helpful there - we handed over a room key in exchange for locker padlocks however when we exchanged them back the room key didn’t work. I think we were given the wrong key back. Could be better !!!!

Has to be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. On my recent stay I was put in a room which clearly had a toilet issue as it was making a constant noise, also had multiple stains all over the chair, floor, bed etc. I went down to the reception to ask for someone to look at it and 5 hours later I had see or heard no one. When someone finally came up, used a plunger and dripped it all the way through the room and hallway! I got moved to another room and this wasn’t any better, the main door lock was hanging out and again, just stains everywhere. Dirty, would not recommend.

Bed was to hard, and it was a long walk to the room, breakfast was OK, but will try another hotel next time

Perfect place if you want your tools to be robbed. THEIVES PARADJSE as they dont have barriers or any kind of protection against it and they just say oh it happens all the time. I know of myself and 4 other colleagues who have had there vans broken into here. PLEASE GO AT YOUR OWN RISK IF YOURE A TRAFKE

Hotel was lovely, great bar area with large screen and seating for sport events, darts boards, table football. All these my son and husband loved. Swimming pool which we used too. Room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable, shower hot, hair dryer and iron as standard. The only thing I would've liked was more lighting, the only light in the bedroom was bedside lamps and the window so wasnt the best for getting ready (hair and makeup) a mirror over the desk areas would've been handy too. Staff were lovely and helpful although our evening meal I wouldn't recommend. We ordered 2 salads, 1 pizza and 2 starters to come out together. Was told there was no other orders in so we wouldn't be waiting. After ordering, was told 1 of the starters had sold out so we swapped that. 1 hour later, still no food. We asked and were told everything was ready apart from the salmon salad which was probably the quickest thing to cook. I asked to just leave it and remove from bill which the manager did. The starters and pizza were lovely, the protein salad was disgusting, so salty like it had a full bottle of soy sauce on it. Buffet breakfast in the morning was lovely though. Overall, we would recommend and return. Thank you

The receptions Kaya is so nice and kind. Truly an amazing worker. She was very helpful with every issue we’ve faced and always saw her with a huge smile on her face. Would recommend 😁

Christmas bar party was too crowded and although we had paid we could not get near the bar to get our drinks , it was extremely noisy and the food was disappointing .

Great couple of nights away in Coventry. We’ve stayed in a few village hotels round the country now and feel they are always great value. Biggest draw is the spa area. Absolutely love it

Where to start, been here a year ago January 2023 and decided to come for a long weekend city break with my fiancé this summer 2024. We booked club room which it’s as far as you can imagine from the reception, so it’s a long walk. As we booked a club room i noticed there was no sofa which is advertised in the club room pictures, staff in reception fixed it and add a sofa to the room. For our surprise found a thong underwear (from someone else obviously) in between the mattress which clearly means cleaning is not so good. We stayed 3 days and not even one day the cleaning staff came to clean our room, so we stayed with damp towels in the room. I let the staff in the reception know about it and they just could give me a sorry for that. On our last morning we went to have breakfast at 9:30 which i believe is a reasonable time to wake up and go have breakfast when you’re on holidays. The girl in the pub gave us the attitude for us (customers of the hotel) coming at 9:30 for breakfast. Apparently was close by this time (9:30!!!!!!) We realised breakfast wasn’t included on our last morning so we paid for it £12 or so each so not cheap. She told us nothing else was coming out even though we already paid for it. No sausages were in the breakfast which is the primordial thing my partner wanted to eat. I felt like we were begging for food even though we paid for it, another lady from the pub came and sort it for us. Closing the breakfast at 9:30 is ridiculous, let alone treating us like we didn’t pay for it. I will never come back, remember this hotel being way better in the past year.

Good value for money, busy with a good atmosphere. Food was ok, plenty of parking. Gym was very busy.

Good points are the bar / breakfast room which is a good size and has a giant screen area with cinema type seats to watch what is on the tv . The downside is the building is really dark with lots of corridors going in various directions and personal choice awfully decorated with bad wallpaper , panels and colours . And small windows in the bedrooms which make the rooms darker even on sunny days that we had when there .They use fans instead of air conditioning . A decent shower and bathroom fittings .

Absolutely fantastic when having a little issue with automated check Thank god a real person came to our rescue! Please don't get rid of the human element it's so nice to be able to speak with a person his customer service was outstanding! Didn't get his name unfortunately but he was working 27th July we booked in around 8.30 so please relay our thanks again for his help! 😊

Was relaxed, comfortable and friendly

Stayed at the village last weekend and had some troubles with our rooms and getting fans as it was unbearably hot in our room. Paul was so helpful, he moved our room, and brought us and extra fan. 10/10 customer service from Paul and made our stay enjoyable

I had a fire incident and had to stay in various hotels for 3mths. The last but not the least hotel I had to stay at was The Village Hotel! Staff service was amazing! Their reception for events was so cosy for a 60th birthday party we attended July 2024!

Booked a club room which was an absolute mile away from reception. Asked for assistance with logged as I had my baby with me. This was refused by staff. Club room was nothing special and much different from the standard room at this particular village. I did ask if I could change rooms for ease due to the little one. Once again this was denied.

"When I went to the hotel's pool yesterday, my finger got caught in the door of the family changing room. The brake system on the middle door was broken, and because the door was heavy, it closed quickly and my finger got stuck. My finger could have been broken. Families with children use this room, and such negligence could cause even more serious injuries to children. This needs urgent attention and repair."

From the Early check in , problems ,onto the food app that diddnt work and then having to refuse said food as overcooked ,to the late check out ruined by a knock at 11am ,to the Fleas in my room ,all this was said to checkout staff who promised to resovle things ,,This NEVER happened ,The worst village hotel ive stayed in bitterly dissapointed ,Things can go wrong we all understand that ,but the mark of good service is how an establishment responds to it .Writing this review was my last resort after my complaints being ignored

Came for lunch with my family and friends on a bank holiday Monday. We ordered food and as the kids were hungry we asked as soon as the kids food is ready can you bring it out please. It took close to 45 minutes for the food to come out only to find that one of the dishes were wrong and it would have taken too long to get the correct dish out so we just made do. The dish wasn't eaten so we asked for a refund (which we got) but then came the issue with the kids desserts. When we asked for them we got told it might take a while as there's a large table (probably about 10 people) but from memory there was probably only about 20 people eating in the whole restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. So my wife and and friends wife spoke to the manager to see what if anything he could do. After the conversation with him the ladies returned to the table to say that he was rude and unhelpful. His response was there's only 2 chefs in the kitchen and "are we in a rush?" whether we were in a rush or not that is no way to speak to your customers. We had hungry kids some due a nap so we didn't want to waste time. We still waited as the kids wanted dessert but it just took so long that we had to leave. Considering the food was cheap we were bitterly disappointed with the level of professionalism from the manager. The staff in general were pretty helpful and did try their best going to the kitchen and asking how long and giving us a quick response. My experience is purely based on the restaurant.

Went to watch the championship play off final today 26/05/24. Having bought a drink I sat at the bar to the side and having finished my drink presented my empty glass and debit card to advise them that I wanted further service and was told that I would have to go to the front of the bar if I wanted service…… spoke to the DM about the customer service didn’t see that phased by it …..

Clean rooms, friendly staff, with good gym and swimming pool.

Excellent as you would expect. Very welcoming on our arrival and a very fast check in. Parking is even free in weekends so a bonus.

Visited the bar and grill recently and the chicken wraps were very disappointing. No flavour, cold, no added sauce and bread was not soft. Service not great with young staff lacking customer service skills and no one came over to ask how the food was. One to avoid. Did email the manager and all he could offer was a free return visit but obviously declined that due to the poor food/service.

Fabulous hotel Village Coventry, I walk in to a fabulous welcome from Michael or Catherine daily. Clean areas to sit in, meet friends, have a coffee to get through the day. Thank you Village Coventry for fabulous service you offer.

Great location for a short family stay with a Gym, sauna and swimming pool which accommodates for children. Overall a great experience. Only negative was the distance of travel to family rooms. But that should not discourage you.

Great experience overall at Village Hotel Coventry. Samantha on breakfast was so polite and nothing was too much trouble even so early in the morning. The bar staff were happy and provided great service. Had a warm welcome on checkin by Michael on reception as well which was a great start to the village experience. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel

Currently staying in this hotel for the next week! First impressions already not good ! Rude front of house staff ! Funny looks and rude demeanour. The room itself is below par with really really creaky floors! Like terrible ! You don’t want to get up in the middle of the night because you aware it could wake up others. Found hairs in the bed which was supposedly “clean” Signage in the hotel is terrible! It’s about a 10 minute walk to the entrance from the room. The signage does not match up and is easy to get lost. Surprised to have the whole corridor where I’m staying stinking of weed ! Yes I’m here on a work stay but surprised that a family oriented place would be so laid back about this. Had a group of young lads all hooded laughing and running up and down the corridor. I think I’ll stay elsewhere going forward which is a shame

The toilets on the lobby floor are in very bad condition. The disabled toilet was in very poor condition all day today. Other toilets were not cleaned throughout the day.

Nice location for my need of a business trip. And the service included in the hotel is very nice, incl. Fitness Sauna and others. Additially the internal restaurants are the rwason to enjoy the hotel for a free day or evening. Not need to go far. I would recommend, and come again.

A great place to hang out. Very busy for a large hotel. Large open plan spaces with a lot going on and something for everyone. Good meeting place. Gym & spa complex that many people use. Good dining and bar areas, with Starbucks coffee, drinks, food, workspace's.
