Where to start, been here a year ago January 2023 and decided to come for a long weekend city break with my fiancé this summer 2024. We booked club room which it’s as far as you can imagine from the reception, so it’s a long walk. As we booked a club room i noticed there was no sofa which is advertised in the club room pictures, staff in reception fixed it and add a sofa to the room. For our surprise found a thong underwear (from someone else obviously) in between the mattress which clearly means cleaning is not so good. We stayed 3 days and not even one day the cleaning staff came to clean our room, so we stayed with damp towels in the room. I let the staff in the reception know about it and they just could give me a sorry for that. On our last morning we went to have breakfast at 9:30 which i believe is a reasonable time to wake up and go have breakfast when you’re on holidays. The girl in the pub gave us the attitude for us (customers of the hotel) coming at 9:30 for breakfast. Apparently was close by this time (9:30!!!!!!) We realised breakfast wasn’t included on our last morning so we paid for it £12 or so each so not cheap. She told us nothing else was coming out even though we already paid for it. No sausages were in the breakfast which is the primordial thing my partner wanted to eat. I felt like we were begging for food even though we paid for it, another lady from the pub came and sort it for us. Closing the breakfast at 9:30 is ridiculous, let alone treating us like we didn’t pay for it. I will never come back, remember this hotel being way better in the past year.

Good points are the bar / breakfast room which is a good size and has a giant screen area with cinema type seats to watch what is on the tv . The downside is the building is really dark with lots of corridors going in various directions and personal choice awfully decorated with bad wallpaper , panels and colours . And small windows in the bedrooms which make the rooms darker even on sunny days that we had when there .They use fans instead of air conditioning . A decent shower and bathroom fittings .

Absolutely fantastic when having a little issue with automated check Thank god a real person came to our rescue! Please don't get rid of the human element it's so nice to be able to speak with a person his customer service was outstanding! Didn't get his name unfortunately but he was working 27th July we booked in around 8.30 so please relay our thanks again for his help! 😊

Stayed at the village last weekend and had some troubles with our rooms and getting fans as it was unbearably hot in our room. Paul was so helpful, he moved our room, and brought us and extra fan. 10/10 customer service from Paul and made our stay enjoyable

I had a fire incident and had to stay in various hotels for 3mths. The last but not the least hotel I had to stay at was The Village Hotel! Staff service was amazing! Their reception for events was so cosy for a 60th birthday party we attended July 2024!

Booked a club room which was an absolute mile away from reception. Asked for assistance with logged as I had my baby with me. This was refused by staff. Club room was nothing special and much different from the standard room at this particular village. I did ask if I could change rooms for ease due to the little one. Once again this was denied.

"When I went to the hotel's pool yesterday, my finger got caught in the door of the family changing room. The brake system on the middle door was broken, and because the door was heavy, it closed quickly and my finger got stuck. My finger could have been broken. Families with children use this room, and such negligence could cause even more serious injuries to children. This needs urgent attention and repair."

From the Early check in , problems ,onto the food app that diddnt work and then having to refuse said food as overcooked ,to the late check out ruined by a knock at 11am ,to the Fleas in my room ,all this was said to checkout staff who promised to resovle things ,,This NEVER happened ,The worst village hotel ive stayed in bitterly dissapointed ,Things can go wrong we all understand that ,but the mark of good service is how an establishment responds to it .Writing this review was my last resort after my complaints being ignored

Came for lunch with my family and friends on a bank holiday Monday. We ordered food and as the kids were hungry we asked as soon as the kids food is ready can you bring it out please. It took close to 45 minutes for the food to come out only to find that one of the dishes were wrong and it would have taken too long to get the correct dish out so we just made do. The dish wasn't eaten so we asked for a refund (which we got) but then came the issue with the kids desserts. When we asked for them we got told it might take a while as there's a large table (probably about 10 people) but from memory there was probably only about 20 people eating in the whole restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. So my wife and and friends wife spoke to the manager to see what if anything he could do. After the conversation with him the ladies returned to the table to say that he was rude and unhelpful. His response was there's only 2 chefs in the kitchen and "are we in a rush?" whether we were in a rush or not that is no way to speak to your customers. We had hungry kids some due a nap so we didn't want to waste time. We still waited as the kids wanted dessert but it just took so long that we had to leave. Considering the food was cheap we were bitterly disappointed with the level of professionalism from the manager. The staff in general were pretty helpful and did try their best going to the kitchen and asking how long and giving us a quick response. My experience is purely based on the restaurant.

Went to watch the championship play off final today 26/05/24. Having bought a drink I sat at the bar to the side and having finished my drink presented my empty glass and debit card to advise them that I wanted further service and was told that I would have to go to the front of the bar if I wanted service…… spoke to the DM about the customer service didn’t see that phased by it …..

Visited the bar and grill recently and the chicken wraps were very disappointing. No flavour, cold, no added sauce and bread was not soft. Service not great with young staff lacking customer service skills and no one came over to ask how the food was. One to avoid. Did email the manager and all he could offer was a free return visit but obviously declined that due to the poor food/service.

Great location for a short family stay with a Gym, sauna and swimming pool which accommodates for children. Overall a great experience. Only negative was the distance of travel to family rooms. But that should not discourage you.

Great experience overall at Village Hotel Coventry. Samantha on breakfast was so polite and nothing was too much trouble even so early in the morning. The bar staff were happy and provided great service. Had a warm welcome on checkin by Michael on reception as well which was a great start to the village experience. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel

Currently staying in this hotel for the next week! First impressions already not good ! Rude front of house staff ! Funny looks and rude demeanour. The room itself is below par with really really creaky floors! Like terrible ! You don’t want to get up in the middle of the night because you aware it could wake up others. Found hairs in the bed which was supposedly “clean” Signage in the hotel is terrible! It’s about a 10 minute walk to the entrance from the room. The signage does not match up and is easy to get lost. Surprised to have the whole corridor where I’m staying stinking of weed ! Yes I’m here on a work stay but surprised that a family oriented place would be so laid back about this. Had a group of young lads all hooded laughing and running up and down the corridor. I think I’ll stay elsewhere going forward which is a shame

The toilets on the lobby floor are in very bad condition. The disabled toilet was in very poor condition all day today. Other toilets were not cleaned throughout the day.

Nice location for my need of a business trip. And the service included in the hotel is very nice, incl. Fitness Sauna and others. Additially the internal restaurants are the rwason to enjoy the hotel for a free day or evening. Not need to go far. I would recommend, and come again.

A great place to hang out. Very busy for a large hotel. Large open plan spaces with a lot going on and something for everyone. Good meeting place. Gym & spa complex that many people use. Good dining and bar areas, with Starbucks coffee, drinks, food, workspace's.

I ordered a chicken tikka masala but I got a bright red sauce which is very different to the chicken tikka masala I know. I lost my appetite looking at it and the taste is just not the same. I did call the restaurant to find out if I got a wrong order but the staff told me that the restaurant has been making their own like that for over 5 years now. Maybe other customers may love this new recipe but unfortunately I didn't.

Ordered at 6:30 pm . Driver arrived at 10:15pm as we were just going to bed so told him I wasn’t paying for it , to which I think he already guessed I was going to say that .Absolutely appalled with the service and not even a phone call to advise me that there was a delay . I realise that the current situation may make delivery times longer but nearly 4 HOURS from time of order to time of arrival?! Tried multiple times to contact the restaurant but to no avail . This was our favourite Indian at one time but has gone down hill rapidly in the last few months . Had to order from another restaurant in the end (which came in 20 mins from the other side of the city ) and will not be ordering from here again.
