Great scampi cooked to order. The battered haddock was great too, crispy & well cooked. Even though we ordered medium the portions were huge. The chips were a bit tired looking but were perfectly edible. Prompt, friendly service at a good price. Highly recommended.

Everything cooked fresh while I waited. Lovely people and engaged in conversation whilst food prepared. Amazing results, absolutely delicious fish and chips, batter crisp to perfection and chips also perfect. Would never go anywhere else!

Fish very greasy, chips were like warmed up sharp spikes and tasted of oil.

Not a fan, sorry. Fish very thin and very oily. I know the fish are deep fried but you don’t expect to bite in to it and feel the oil running out of the fish.

first time we've used village fisheries chip butties were very good. cake butty was better than I thought it would be fish butty was delicious and the fish and chips were okay. fish a little bit on the dry side. overall we will definitely be back

After reading reviews I thought we would be on to a winner but Small portions poor quality chips and scollops spam good fish ok child's meal poor quality and small portion for the price not value for money

Good value and quantity for a medium portion but fish quality poor and quite tough to eat.

Asked for fish, lightly battered , done to perfection, great meal .

I rate this as the best chippy in idle but today gish was burnt chips also overdone

Village fisheries- what's going on...my fish was saturated in nasty tasting grease tonight..the batter was vile!

I know fish prices are high, but there was hardly any fish in the two fish in the order, we won't be re ordering again.

the large fish was overdone on one side so the fish was overcooked this was n the usual delicious well cooked fish i normally receive

REALLY tasty chips, Good portions and the staff/owners are really friendly. chips are fried in 100% veg oil but they ask you to tell them if you want anything else in veg oil. (Like potato scollops) Good covid precautions as well. 5 stars, great chippy.

Whilst the fish was brilliant,the chips were a tad dry.The owners were extremely accomodating and welcoming.The shop premises were scrupulously clean and follow all the covid guidelines,a mask was worn by both,owners.well worth a visit.

The food was very tasty, although substituted the curry sauce for mushy peas. Not a big fan of mushy peas, maybe a phone call to be given the choice, would have been good. Nonetheless the Fish and Chips were the best I've tasted for some time.

The traditional English fish and chips,, I’ve had some good fish and chips in my time with living by the sea for a long time, but I can honestly say these have been the best I’ve tasted!!! Thank you and well done

Tray swimming in grease underneath, greasy chips, fish lovely. Portions too big ! but lovely for people who eat large amounts. Delivery driver polite but got lost on route food hot when received .Had it not been for grease underneath tray I'd order again

First time user of this fish shop and won’t be the last. Very nice fish arriving on time and piping hot. Delicious to taste and lovely batter. Driver followed full instructions as I’m recovering from cancer treatments therefore isolating in my own way. 10/10 for everything and highly recommend

Ordered as a surprise for my elderly dad’s birthday during lockdown & very well received by him . The food was piping hot & delivered in good time - he was even wished a Happy Birthday from the delivery driver !! One of the fish was so heavily covered in oil that it was actually dripping from the carrier having saturated the paper wrapping. Just a simple case of needing to be fully drained before wrapping. Other than that the fish and chips were good
