Incredible food, best kebab, best chips all round top place wouldn’t order from anywhere else for a chippy! Currently sat here with tears rolling down my face with my pickled peppers. - Thankyou!!!!!! They are the best thing I’ve ever tasted! You are too kind

Lovely chippy and friendly service.

Staff were lovely and talkative had to go twice on my stay in Coventry since the fish n chips was one of the best I've had.

So after my last review the price went from £3.50 to £4.75 within a few days then decided to have my usual pie and chips with gravy in a tray to be told it was £7.15 absolute joke make there own prices up. It is a shame as the food is good I won't be back there again

Had fish and chips..and pie and chips..only once the chips were like little fence posts and hard as rocks.never again the fish was still alive..not good very very nasty....

Popped in for some lunch. Sausage and chips, chips had been sat for a while and were cold, after eating 2 or 3 left the rest and ended up in the bin. Not somewhere I would go again

Chips are rubbish today cold chips shrivelled chips been sat there ages far from fresh the dinner meat is dry as it can be . Peter never Servs even when the shops full the poor girls work non stop can’t fault the service from the girls . I saw 4 people walk out last week as it was to long to wait an 1 person serving . Last time il be going today after this rubbish food . Gone down hill since it changed hands

Massive portion of chips which had obviously been sat there a while. Had kebab which was a large portion and average quality.

Mixed meat in pitta bread 1st time ordering just moved round the corner amazing was thinking of having chips as well glad I didn't great portion and tasty also makes a change to have a good dollop of mayonnaise and hot chili sauce 👍👍

We come here when visiting relatives i have to say that this is the most impressive takeaways I've eaten from. Great selection, great flavours,super efficient and very clean 👌 Im just adding that I've been a chef for 30 years so i like my food done right lol Highly recommended

Forget Binley Mega Chippy. This place is the best. Super fresh. Great value and the staff are fantastic especially Karen and Kerry.

Fish was nice but I think it may have been sat there since lunch time, the batter was hard and chewy, chips were OK.

The best fish & Chip in the area. Even has a salad bar.

First visit at lunch time today .And was not pleased with meal combo and taste .Chips seemed dry and crunchy black marks all over. Burger was ok .salad lacked life .If this the standard at 12 to 1pm when one would assume be freshest cooked food .God knows quality later on in day

Absolutely excellent food since the new owner has taken over. The fish and chips are now consistently excellent, the kebabs are very good and the Turkish charcoal grills are out of this world being served with Turkish chopped salad, spicy rice and flatbreads. Two of these grills easily are enough for the three of us. Great staff and really high quality food.

This place continues to impress, the naans are always perfect, the mixed kebab meat is so tender and well seasoned with a good spread. Consistently the best kebab shop, and that doesn't even start on the fish and chips. 5* all around

November 2020. Since my last review this shop has changed many times and standards have gone up and down like a yo yo. The new owner is called Tony and I feel compelled to write a new review. Since Tony arrived we have had fish and chips, kebabs, burgers and all have been really good indeed. However the highlight is undoubtedly his charcoal grills. We have just had two mixed grills (shared between three as portions are very generous). Marinated Lamb and Chicken, shish kebab, served on spiced rice with superb salads and flat breads. Wow. Absolutely delicious. Thanks for excellent food and service! Brilliant chippy. The quality of the food has improved immensely since the new owners have taken over.

Since Tony has taken over the food has really improved and the menu is much broader. In recent weeks we've tried Fish and Chips, Burgers, Kebabs and tonight the mixed grill. All have been really lovely- but tonight's charcoal mixed grill was the best ever. Beautiful marinated chicken and lamb, shish served with tasty rice, a huge range of salad and flat breads. Excellent value and very generous portions - in fact knowing the generosity of the chippy we only ordered two mixed grills for the three of us. Very high quality indeed. Thanks!

I never do this but, the food was so nice that I felt I needed to let people know, hubby went in for convenience, just chips for me as the food isn't always to good there but I was in for a nice surprise, food was amazing, fresh, hot and not one bad chip, will definitely be using you more now, new owners were nice aswell (bonus) 😀

Just bought mini fish and chips, admittedly chippy had just opened so freshly prepared, but, wow! What an improvement, lovely light batter, crisp chips and delicious curry sauce. I live in Bedworth but would drive over to get them.

Terrible. Six of us had chicken kebabs and they were completely inedible. The chicken was undercooked and full of skin, fat and gristle and swimming in grease. The chips weren't much better, undercooked and soggy. We ended up throwing it all away, £50 worth in the bin. Since changing hands this chippy has gone up in price and down in quality. I can honestly say this is the worst chip shop takeaway I have ever had and I definitely won't be coming here again

used to be good and our go-to place when we had a chippy, but we had one yesterday (monday@7pm) - appalling. chips weren't right, fish was dry with soggy batter, and the doner kebab (pita & meat only - no sauce/salad) had me hugging the toilet all night. 2 stars because it's normally ok, but based on this time i wouldn't go back. I think it's changed owners.

Disgusting chip shop this is my local & wouldn't let my dog eat from there right had cold kebab werent even cut properly. & fish is wet and soggy batter don't disappoint yourself.

Always travel from other side of coventry to this place for fish & chips. Everything is fresh, especially the fish as it's cooked to order. Never had anything but superb quality food from here. I know alot of people that travel from all over cov to get their meals from here. Prices are great when you see the portion sizes (They are huge)

We've had a reasonable meal from here on a number of occasions previously. Straightforward and hot. This time, it could be best described as cold and chewy. Inconsistent. Won't be returning.

This has a very chequered history. The owners seem to change once a year, so you are just getting used to one lot and woosh they are gone. Currently it is in a bit of a questionably area. The fish batter is too thick, a light crisp batter is best but this isn't happening. The pizzas are great, the various new items are great but what is needed is a consistency that isn't there. The only thing that is consistent is the lovely lady who has worked there for years, and she is WONDERFUL!!!!

Haddock and chips is a favourite in our house. The village fish bar's staff is always friendly and happy too cook something up for you that is not already out. The food is always very tasty when we been down. The fish today was top nosh. Best ever😁 I would definitely recommend our local chippy😉

Just went to the village fish bar half an hour ago i had no choice but to use it as have no car and nowhere else to get take away food from on the village (i was visiting family) .I should of used my head and used the just eat app or something like that as I have internet access!! (never mind I will know for next time) I asked for the mixed kebab meat in a naan. And battered sauage and chips with red sauce in a tray for my son. I changed my order when I seen the guy get my naan out of a packet and microwave it. I asked did they make it fresh (the naan)from dough or whatever you use to make a naan bread and the man said no where makes their own naans. I live in Holbrooks and normally go to Arena fish bar on Holbrook lane and they make their own naans from scratch.I told the man and then he said he did not no how to make them. I decided I didn't want it so he took it out of the microwave and put it back in the packet for someone else to buy! And the charge £5.99 for it. Anyway I changed my order to mixed kebab meat and chips in a tray. So we got home and opened our food. My son's tray was swimming in red sauce and he can't eat it (he loves red sauce too). 1 dinner for the bin. Mine was another story. The chips were not fresh they were really greasy and a funny color they were rock hard also. The chicken especially not the tikka colored one was like sawdust. It was bitty and reminded me of stuffing? It was disgusting. It cost me £8.50 and I didn't bother giving it to the dogs it went straight in the bin. Everyone has their own opinion but this was the worst I've ever tasted ever. What a waste of money.

Horrible! I've been to a lot of chippys in the city and this has to be the worst! The smell is lovely from the outside but the food is 1/10. I literally couldn't even eat the chips they were hard and tasteless! Avoid !

I've been using this chippy for the last four years and it has been very inconsistent. However before Chritsmas 2015 two new people have taken it over. The new managers really care for what they are doing and the quality has improved markedly. In the last few months the quality of the fish and chips has been absolutely excellent. Food is always freshly cooked and great care is taken. Kebabs are good too! Love this chippy!

Worst chips ever, stay away from it!!! Been there again today after a long time because a friend said it got better (first time was really bad too). Sadly she was wrong, the staff is incredibly unfriendly and grumpy, the chips were cold and not enjoyable at all, scallop thin and horrible, battered sausage horrible. Everything tasted like it has been sitting there for hours!!! Normally I'm not picky but I couldn't even eat half of any of it, it was that bad!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Always had good food from the village fish bar. The chips are always fresh and the fish is always very good. Would recommend it all the time. Good value for money. Only thing I would say they need work on is the special offers.

Min have been going to this chippy for years... It used to be great. The last two times it has pretty much been inedible. The chips had clearly been refried and were brown and hard. The kebab meat must have been sat for hours as it resembled plastic. I think the telephone orders have meant that they cannot cope and their standards have slipped. I will not be buying good from there again.
