Village Curry House in Dundee City

Food was delicious. Had a meal for 2 chicken tikka masala and Shahi Tikka Bhuna, garlic bread and veg pakora. 3 of us tucked in and it was plenty. Not ordered for a while so just reminded me tonight how good the Village curries are. Will be ordering again.

My favourite place for takeaway, the traditional pizza is my favourite. I always order it, unfortunately once again it was overcooked, dry and burnt. It was also far too spicy for me to eat and I love spicy food. We order from here once or twice a month but the inconsistency with the pizza after it being too hot to eat (this is the third time) means it's the last time I will be ordering. It would seem to have gone downhill over the last four/five months or so. The curries seem to be good still.

Food was cold. Jalapeño poppers & Pizza tasted like they'd been sitting out for about 30 minutes before they were sent out. Not to Village Curry House usual standard.

I order from here quite regularly and never have any issues however tonight very disappointed- not fussed that delivery was late as these things happen it was the fact it was delivered to a completely different address and the neighbour had to try and decipher where it should have been by calling the local takeaways and then they had to deliver it themselves to me - what is the point of the “order” code you are meant to give if the driver just hands it over! Food was cold!

I recently visited the Village Curry House and had mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the food portions were very generous, which is always appreciated. However, the quality of the food left much to be desired. The dishes I ordered were extremely greasy and lacked flavor, making the meal quite disappointing. Additionally, the food was ready in just five minutes, which raised concerns about how freshly it was prepared. Overall, while the portions were substantial, the taste and quality of the food did not meet my expectations. ---

Food was great, everyone enjoyed it. While it was delivered in the set timescale, it would be nice to know BEFORE ordering it's going to take over an hour. Wasn't even a weekend haha.

ordered meal 2 hours before requested delivery time. got an update at that point to say delayed 15 mins. it still arrived almost 30 minutes after that 2nd time. food was fine but communication was rubbish.

1.5 hours on a Wednesday night isn’t really good enough

The chicken tikka korma in the set meal is excellent. The food was hot and very tasty.

Horrible customer service usually go here all the time food usually good but got a donner and asked for sauce to be on normal thing you would do at a shop and driver came and asked for £1.60 for some sauce when I said I’m not paying shop owner was very rude down the phone I didn’t ask for extra just sauce as I paid for an extra tub joke to do to a loyal customer won’t be back

Quite possibly the worst donner ever experienced, far too thick and gristly. Chicken thankfully was much better.

Absolutely Appalling disgusting Customer service from this Village Indian Food establishment. We have been regular customers for many years now and advertised this to family, friends etc but the arrogant, rude, horrible staff have put a Stop to this Never Again will we step foot in that shop ..My order was wrong/ mix up then we were charged more money for less food? the tone,cheek arrogance from the staff was out of Order I then was advised the manager was in the kitchen to busy to speak to a Loyal paying customer. Stay Clear! Go Elsewhere.!

We’ve used the village curry house for several years but it has declined steadily over the past couple of years. Started with scrimping on the chilli sauce on the doner pizza and charging extra for additional tub of sauce (which in fairness isn’t outrageous) but they then changed their pizza base recipe to a thin and crispy style. The latest thing is their doner meat has changed significantly - I genuinely thought it was some sort of tofu or quorn substitute. I’ve literally never had doner meat like it - and I’ve eaten A LOT of doner meat all over the country! Absolutely rank and unfortunately the final nail in the coffin for me - won’t be going back now which is a shame because it really was very good originally.

Took nearly 2 hours to deliver. I phoned at phone point and was told 10 minutes; food arrived 40 minutes later; an hour later than what was advertised on Just Eat. If I’d known that I would not have ordered from there. Food was ok, doubt I’ll be back.

Absolutely disgusting treatment…staff ignorant! Food poor and definitely much better Indian food in surrounding area! Definitely will not be back! This was an order to collect. Order picked up which was wrong and staff very rude on my complaint. Would avoid this place 100%

Awful! Not edible! The kebab was like rubber and the sauce isn't sauce its a watery mess! The chicken had black bits in it and not from the char! Also had a sore stomach within 5 minutes of starting to eat the small parts you could actually eat! Stay well clear!

Absolutely awful, please don't ever try it. The food is not anything like authentic Indian food The chicken tikka has a very strange taste and is not freshly cooked. I've never seen anything like the Bombay potato before, still don't know what it was. I was very disappointed with the whole meal, my colleague was too.. Expensive for poor quality food, I would never use this place again.

Basically as it says, tried here and a few other similar places in the area on a few occasions, this is probably the most underwhelming. Its not that the food is bad, its just sub-par with the other choices

Worst customer service I’ve ever come across. We have spent hundreds of pounds here despite the miserable face you’re greeted with upon arrival however when I was accused of not paying yesterday online(when I had) and the ridiculous customer service I got following this, I’ll never return. He was laughing in my face, refusing to believe me and accusing me of being a liar. Completely disappointing

Rude!!!!! Oh my gosh these people are so rude when taking orders!!!! Food was not great either. Tikka Masala wasn’t like a normal masala.

Attitude is awful when on the phone and when you ask for a replacement because you've order the wrong one they say no because it will cause you a extra £5 for delivery

Tikka Masala tasted unlike anything I’ve had before. Hardly any chicken in the portion. Chips were soggy & clearly re-heats. Nan bread was dry. This used to be a reliable takeaway restaurant, but I would save your money & go elsewhere now.

Went in to order food was called a cu@t and don’t come back again because they overcharged me and I asked for a breakdown then got told the likes of people Like me which show on the other foot would have been classed as racism I’d say avoid unless you want short changed and insulted.

3 out of 6 meals were inedible. Overcooked chips dry and tasteless, congealed curry sauce. Cauliflower bajis dripping in oil. Worst takeaway we have had in a while. Called to complain but wdnt issue a refund for inedible meals

Went in to order while working and staying in the hotel opposite, chap on counter has the biggest chip on his shoulder and is vile! If I wasn’t with colleagues I’d have offered him outside! Vile individual and rude!! Avoid this place like the plague! If the front of house is like this imagine the kitchen! Avoid avoid avoid

Ordered a meal to be delivered. Not only was the food absolutely disgusting they forgot some of the order and when called back to see if they would deliver it they were extremely rude and refused.

Stayed at premier inn opposite used this place three times no complaints . Good guy serving.

Horrible.. FILTHY and disgusting place. The owner/manager is as vile, shouting and swearing like a maniac! AVOID!! No exaggeration, go and collect your order and you will see for yourself, the place is filthy!

This place is filthy! Don't order online! If I hadn't went to collect it I wouldn't have saw the chef through the hatch poking at his ear and scratching his head multiple times while cooking my order. The place is filthy too when you really look around. When I politely asked for my money back I was shouted and sworn at and called a white wh**re. I didn't argue for my money back, was too scared.. AVOID!!

ordered meal for one,was very disappointed the popadoms were soft definately not freshly made and the chicken pakoras were brick hard and dry and looked and tasted like they were made days ago,i have had stuff from here in the past and couldnt fault it but tonights was very poor its amazing the amount of takeaways that open and start off good then go down hill churning out pre prepared re heated food,a bit of advice make everything fresh people will wait for freshly cooked tasty food,defo lost a customer here

Place is okay fast service but food a bit cool

The worst donner I've ever had. Donner isn't exactly prime cuts of meat at the best of times, but this was poor. Very low quality meat. I've had a curry from here too and although that was acceptable, it wasn't great.

Ordered at 16.26 for a preorder at 17.25 food arrived at 18.00 reheated in a microwave. I ordered a Curry and Nann, wife ordered a Burger and chips, food was reheated in a microwave, the nann was crispy and broke up and the burger was rubber, i contacted the shop and asked to speak to a manager, was told no one available, they offered to resend part order, who would accept food after a complaint? Will never be back. I hope none else has to have this experience.

Absolutely bog standard nothing exceptional here asked the people behind counter what was there best seller but could not give me an answer which i thought was weird tried to have a joke with staff but went down like a lead balloon seemed not interested in what i asked or had to say not to worry wont be back not authentic all mass produced and my chicken tikka was microwaved 👎

Really enjoyed our ‘lockdown’meal. Egyptian Kebab for me an chicken tikka for Hubby. Loads of chicken and really tasty. Will definitely order again

I have been faithful to Goa for many years now but decided to try here after a friend suggested it. I still prefer Goa pakoras but the curry was full of flavour and 3verything tasted lovely and fresh.

Reasonably priced food we usually phone our order in as can be busy especially at the weekend we have the meal for two which is good value for money

Recommended to me by the Bman, I just had to try out the kebab at this establishment. Have to say the service was a little slow and the staff seemed a bit miserable, however, the kebab in the nan bread was high quality and up to the standard of Bmania. The nan was fresh and the sauce was nice and spicy! Would go back!

Very tasty kebabs. Deserves a Michelin star for taste. Service however is slow and can be rude. Can take a long time to be acknowledged and served. Sort this out, learn some manners and we could achieve 5 star

Nice little curry house, at Panmurefield Village. The curry house offers a good range of food selection, at a reasonable price. The staff at the curry house is helpful. Its a good place to visit and ask for a take away, or just give the curry house a telephone call, for home delivery service.

I ordered a take away from the Village at 7pm and was assured that the order would be delivered within the hour, after one hour and a half hours, I called them. They said they had trouble with the order and that it would arrive within fifteen minutes. I now agree that they had a problem with the order, when it arrived over two hours late, half the order was not there, with the other half cold. I called them to be faced with what only can be described as a negotiating position and no understanding of the customer, indeed I was over talked on the phone by the member of staff saying that they are very busy and could I call back later. They kept saying that they would give me 50% of my next order, all I wanted was what I paid for, disgraceful service, I will never order from there again and I advise others to do similar. Please note, I was a regular customer with the Village for years before this!

One of the best in dundee/ monifeith. If not the best. Chef cooks authentic Indian cuisine. Food is always a flavour bomb and cooked to perfection. You will not be disappointed. Karahi and balti garam masala cone highly recommended by both myself and the chef. Top Indian cuisine 100 percent.

A couple of good curries last night and 12 year old had donner on a roll. Good value, tasty and hot. Delivery very prompt.
