Not the original clark pie the original pie is from clarks pie shop bromsgrove st Grangetown been there ever since I can remember.victoria pie shop sells their own version of pies and are not allowed to use the clarks brand

Best pies in the World, full stop! Been eating them for years. Always full of meat with gorgeous pastry. I sometimes wash them down with the other Cardiff gem - a pint of BRAINS beer!

I have been trying for years to find the pies I loved as a teenager.Having bought many pies that looked the same and even ones that claim to be the original ones I was delighted to finally find the real thing.I can't wait to buy more and even stock up in my freezer( just incase).I didn't even have to travel to Victoria park as a local shop sells them on their behalf. Win win!!

The only place where you can buy the original clarks pie a proper old original pie shop great pies and freshly made cream scones and lovely people who own the place i go there a few times a week

I bought a pie for a snack it was truly awful,it was dry as a bone. No gravy at all . It was supposed to be mincemeat and onion but it was just big lumps of meat, it could have been anything. I used to use the shop quite often when it was the Clarks pie shop. I will never buy anything from there again.

I lived in Canton for most of my childhood. A clarkes pie & chips was many a friday night treat, being sent round to the chippy on cowbridge road and then walking back home with the parcel tucked under my arm, I now live in the east of england and only come back to Wales once a year but every visit HAS to include a visit to the now Victoria Park pies shop. The pies have not changed, they are the same beautiful flavour as always and reasonably priced also. I have 4 in my freezer and I cannot reccomend the shop and its produce enough

I have been visiting this shop for many many years and whilst I am now living abroad I recently visited the U.K. and `made for` Victoria Park Pies in Cardiff one lunchtime. The pies and pastIes were still BRILLIANT and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS although a little more pricey than I remember them years ago ! :-) :-)

Had a sudden desire for a ' Clarkies ' pie. It's a long story, but there was a break up and part of the family split and formed Victoria Park Pie Company. In my opinion VPC are the same but better. They are stuffed to the brim with filling, be it mince beef and onion, steak etc., and are very tasty and good value for money. The only thing that I find odd is that they called themselves Victoria Park Pies after the adjacent Victoria Park when they could have called them ' Parkies Pies ' ! . . Superb ! !

Tasty pies to eat on there own as a snack or use as part of a full meal acompanied with chips or mash and veg tasty well priced well cooked must to try any day of the week

Call in to purchase a pie for lunch, noticed the do chips so ordered some chips after being told they are done fresh. So expected the chips to be fresh but they were full of grease and tasted vile Can’t fault the pies they are delicious

40 mile round trip to pick these up, the journey is well worth it, quality filling encased by wonderful pastry, best pies in Wales.

The 'Clarksie' has been a Cardiff institution for just over a Century, a minced beef & potato pie with a very distinctive flavour. They are sold from 2 bakery shops in Victoria Park and Grangetown by 2 cousins, both descendants of Mary Clark. They can also be bought in a thousand and one chip shops. There has been a family falling out / litigation and for some bizarre reason the Victoria Park Pie shop has been forced to stop using the Clark's name. Their main product is now called the Victoria Park minced beef and potato pie - but it's still a Clarksie in all but name. What can I say about the Clarksie? It's just wonderful, whether it's from a chippy late at night or heated up at home with a generous knob of butter melted into it, it is perfect. A nice brittle shortcrust pastry case with the very distinctive tasting meat potato & gravy filling which is still made to the family's secret recipe. Once in a while I travel into Cardiff to buy a dozen for the freezer. These pies are filled to the brim, no half portions here. You can buy this, or other pies direct from their bakery shop, hot or cold, eat in or out, with chips or mash, etc. The Victoria Park minced beef & potato pies area bit more expensive than the Grangetown Clark's pies but are nicer. The one thing they could perhaps take from the Grangetown Clark's Pie shop is to put bulk buy offers on, e.g. buy 11, get 12th free. My decision to eat here was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 3/5, (Generally Satisfactory).

With elderly homesick relatives in Lincolnshire needing their spirits lifted, I rang Victoria Park Pie Company, and Ceri arranged the delivery of six of their traditional beef and onion pies by UPS. They arrived, as promised, on time in perfect condition. UPS even emailed me to confirm their safe delivery. Our relatives were thrilled, and have asked me to provide them details to enable them to arrange similar deliveries around the family. They rang back later...the pies were delicious and reminded them of happy days living in Cardiff. It would be an unusual, but delightful surprise at the festive time, to arrange delivery anywhere in the country of their meat and mince pies to fellow Cardiffian’s. I’m sure Ceri (who was most helpful) could be persuaded to include a Christmas card.

Great pies great value and amazing taste they never scrimp on filling or flavour and staff always friendly , been shopping here for years and always left a very happy customer (lamb and mint are my fav) i need one now!!!

What can I say but THE best pies. I've eaten the 'original' pie since I was a small child and always loved them. Would never have thought they could be improved but these still retain all that was great about the original but with lighter pastry and full right to the top with super tasty fillings. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to one of these excelent pies, you wont be disappointed.

20 years ago when I worked in Cardiff I discovered this gem ... at that time known as 'Clark's Pies'
