Really great food and nice environment all around. Will definitely be back.

Eat here yesterday and enjoyed all three courses enormously. Aubergine Parmegiano for starter, swordfish with lemon for main and Fruit Pavlova for sweet. Family run and excellent friendly service. A gem in Meanwood.

The people are very friendly, the menu is great and l chose one of the specials and, honestly, it was the nicest meal l've had l can remember in years! Perfect portion size, and was recommended it by 2 different people who gave very good reports also. Will definitely go back again.

I visited this quaint Italian restaurant, the staff are friendly and if you want authentic Italian food you can't go wrong with Via Verde. I had the pate which was delicious and for mains Ravioli which was superb and would I visit this establishment again most definately

Excellent dishes in a family run Italian restaurant. Great service. Mostly pizza, pasta and specials that include a wide range of fish dishes and meats such as duck, lamb and chicken. They do a solid sticky toffee pudding!

Decent food ...very nice staff ... Was very busy and seems to be a very small kitchen for the amount of customers so there was a bit of waiting but wasn't wasn't problem ...pavlova was only thing that wasn't too great ..

Great little place and fantastic food .

Five stars is insufficient to describe our appreciation of this lovely little gem. We came from Somerset, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire, and met up for a great evening. Service was spot on - attentive and not overly so. Food was superb, unpretentious but excellent flavour and everything was really well cooked. Drinks were spot on. In fact the menu was not really limited despite this being a small resto - if in doubt have the huevo pesano as a starter. It got top marks from those who had it. Several of us had fish and it was brilliant. No trouble parking at 7pm. For sure - book for a Saturday night. Very popular, clearly lots of regulars. Honestly - the best night out to celebrate a 40th ever. Highly recommended and We'll be back!

The food is so delicious and at such good prices. The owner is super friendly and gives great recommendations if you're not sure what you want to try. I'd highly recommend eating here but make sure you book in advance!

We have been planning to go here for some time. We got there just after opening and therefore were the first to order. The food came promptly and was delicious. We had 3 courses and left feeling satisfyingly full. They have a great specials board with lots of meat and fish dishes if you don't want pasta or pizza. Service great too. By the time we left, the place was almost full. Highly recommended.

Amazing service, absolutely stunning food & lovely atmosphere

Second time I've been here, and I can honestly say it's the best pizza I've had ever..in the UK. Having lived in different parts of Italy when I was a teenager, I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of pizza, and Via Verde's is amazing! In fact all the food I've had here has been gorgeous..right down to the bread in the basket! The couple who own it are very warm, chatty and personable, and go towards making this a fab place to eat. It's a smallish restaurant, but that makes it intimate. It's definitely my fave place to eat out. I'd recommend everyone to try this lovely little restaurant..it's well worth the visit! :)

Nice atmosphere, the waitor talked us through all the specials on the board and described them. I think this is couple run, the lady was welcoming to everyone and the gentleman I think cooks all the food and looked happy we were enjoying his food in our family reunion. Reasonable price dishes and it has a number of regulars. I'd be happy to eat here again.

We always enjoy the food here. Everything is beautifully cooked. Pasta, pizza and specials available including Lamb, duck, steak, fish. Great choice of starters and desserts. You will probably need to book in advance.

Tonight me and my fiancé ate here, we’ve eaten here a few times before and the food and atmosphere has always been top notch! Tonight we both had the duck mains and they were sublime! The texture was like pate The skin, crispy, succulent and gelatinous, perfect! I throughly recommend. Superb value for money.

Great service and great food, both in quality and range of options on the specials board. Not somewhere I would have chosen just from passing by, but we'll well worth going to.

After travelling from Cambridge to visit family as soon as this pandemic allowed. We visited our favorite restaurant Via Verde. As always greeted with a warm welcome, we had Geoff's famous spare ribs. Also the only place I know that serves Stromboli, delicious. Then we had the chicken which was very tasty. Always a pleasure & a must visit when we travel up to Yorkshire.

What an excellent experience this turned out to be. The owner and customers were great company and the food almost seemed like an after thought, that's until it came to the table. The taste and quality should not be written in words, all I can say is get yourselves down there A.S.A.P.

Catching up on reviews - had a takeaway a couple weeks ago. Delicious and very tasty Pizza Via Verde and, as for Geoff's BBQ Ribs, gorgeous smoky sauce and ribs cooked to perfection. This is a great little family restaurant run by Geoff in the kitchen and Bridget front of house. They are a great team. We've eaten in and had takeaway on numerous occasions. Always friendly service delivering great food at very reasonable prices.

Great food, great service, great price. A bit too quiet when we visited but probably due to it being a very wet Wednesday evening under Tier 2 covid restrictions.

Been here many times before food always good small but very friendly place food always excellent. Book early b because it gets booked up very quickly especially weekends, reasonably priced Back again Saturday when government allowed for bars/restaurants etc to open but please give them a bell because they now have limited seating arrangement again they don't fail to deliver on quality. Thank you Bridgette and Geoff.

A little different set up due to social distancing but the service and food never faults. Think you both Geoff & Bridgette for another fantastic meal.

Called for a pizza at 7pm friday night. Whilst all other takeaways stated 1hour for collection, these guys had the order ready in 10mins. Great pizza, friendly family eatery

One of the few good things to come from Coronavirus is that via verde now offer a takeaway service. Food truly amazing as it has been every time we have eaten in.

Lamentablemente, era la mesa junto al baño y un poco pequeña al lado de una mesa más grande (por lo tanto, 4 estrellas no 5), pero todo lo demás fue genial. Buena comida, buen personal y excelente relación calidad-precio. Tuve la pasta de salmón, que era abundante y muy sabrosa, todavía logró tarta de limón para el postre, que era una maravilla. Mi esposo y mi hija tenían pizzas que se veían geniales y realmente las disfrutaron. La 10 botella de vino de la casa también fue una excelente relación calidad-precio. Visitamos a nuestra hija en Meanwood cada dos meses y hemos tratado de reservar aquí antes, pero generalmente está lleno, así que tuvimos suerte esta vez. Sin duda intentaremos reservar de nuevo la próxima vez que visitemos Meanwood.

Via Verde always delivers! I'm guilty of always ordering the exact same thing (Nduja Piccante/Ferrari Pizza) - and we're always welcomed with great food and a family atmosphere. Been time and time again, and will continue to do so.

Nothing changes at this restaurant. Food excellent. Service excellent. Prices excellent. Fellow diners excellent. What's not to like!?

There is nowhere better to spend a Friday night than at this restaurant. We have been several times and have never been disappointed. Everything about it is superb. We love it and have recommended it to many friends and family.

Cannot fault this place. After months of walking past we gave it a try and it's now our favourite place to enjoy a meal as a couple, or to bring family when they visit. Great family run business and the food is always excellent.. and very reasonably priced. I would recommend to anyone, just make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment as they do get busy!

I've visited this place a few times and enjoyed it every time. The service is great and they make you feel so welcome. The food is always spot on and from what I remember they have a good selection on the specials board too. I would recommend booking as it's a small place and gets full quickly.

This restaurant is by all intents and purposes off the beaten track sat at the end of a parade of shops opposite Waitrose in Meanwood. Despite its location all the tables were taken on the Friday evening we visited, the reason being both the quality of the food and the service were excellent. The bill at the end of the evening likewise was acceptable making this a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Absolutely delightful little restaurant. The staff are charming, real characters who make the whole visit into an experience! The food and wine we had were all excellent. If I lived nearby, I think I'd be a regular! Think about booking in advance if you can, as the interior is quite small and very popular.

Fuimos a un bar local para tomar una copa antes de la cena (6 pm) en Via Verde, uno de nuestros establecimientos locales. Me puse en contacto con Via Verde para hacer una reserva y me preguntaron si haríamos un pedido anticipado de nuestras opciones antes de nuestra noche y podríamos dejar la mesa antes de las 7. 45 pm ya que tenían otra reserva que necesitaba la mesa (más sobre esto más adelante). Geoff (propietario y chef) me envió un mensaje de texto con el menú. Noté que uno de los primeros especiales del curso que había disfrutado anteriormente no estaba en el menú, pero cuando pregunté si podía elegirlo, me dijeron que no había problema. Le envío un mensaje de texto a Geoff. A la llegada nos recibió Bridget (propietario conjunto) que es encantador. Pedimos bebidas (vino de la casa muy agradable ya un precio muy razonable que es genial). Toda nuestra comida era muy sabrosa, los platos principales se servían con una variedad de verduras frescas, una pequeña sugerencia de que una opción de ensalada disponible para acompañar las pizzas sería agradable. Cuando terminamos nuestras comidas y contemplando los postres noté que eran las 7. 45 así que estaba preocupado de que tuviéramos que desalojar nuestra mesa y renunciar al postre, sin embargo Bridget nos dijo que estaban reorganizando las mesas y que no teníamos que desalojar, lo cual era encantador. Disfruté de un entrante de sopa de cangrejo de río, muy delicioso seguido de trucha de mar y tiramisú casero que estaba delicioso. ¡Estaremos de vuelta!

We returned to Via Vverde for a family birthday celebration dinner tonight. The food was excellent there were many areas of suboptimal service which was rather disappointing. A party of 10 in total with one 6 year who was rather hungry, we had to get up and ask for the olives we ordered to be brought to the table, no child friendly activities such as colouring or puzzles offered which prove a great distraction and what we found pretty standard in the other establishments, empty plates after our starter not cleared for ages and failure to check back for drink refills. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals but sadly the service let the team down tonight!

Visited for a surprise birthday meal. The food was lovely and cooked perfectly. Good choice of starters, mains and desserts.

Lovely little place. Food was great and atmosphere cosy. A shared starter, two meat mains from the specials, and a bottle of wine for £40. The spiced Monkfish was heavenly and the side of green veg was fresh and varied.

Fui allí anoche con un amigo. . . . . La primera vez para mí, pero ella es una habitual y fue saludada por el propietario con abrazos. Es un restaurante sorprendente el estar en un desfile en Meanwood frente a Waitrose pero el interior es, mientras que bastante pequeño y acogedor tenía un montón de espacio para todos. Estaba ocupado con mesas llenas y buena rotación y comida deliciosa. Gran ambiente. No es exactamente un 5 estrellas porque se confundió con la reserva, así que demorar nuestro pedido se retrasó y el servicio fue un poco lento, pero con solo un chef, valió la pena esperar, ya que todo estaba recién preparado y muy caliente. También hicieron una pizza con mis preferencias ya que no estaba en el menú. Todo a un precio razonable y una agradable velada relajante con mi amigo. Muy recomendable.

Este restaurante está a todos los efectos y fuera de lo común, al final de un desfile de tiendas frente a Waitrose en Meanwood. A pesar de su ubicación, todas las mesas se tomaron el viernes por la noche que visitamos, la razón es que tanto la calidad de la comida como el servicio fueron excelentes. El proyecto de ley al final de la noche también fue aceptable, haciendo de esta una experiencia totalmente agradable. Para el registro, viajamos de Wetherby a este restaurante y podríamos haber elegido fácilmente un lugar mucho más cerca de casa. La distancia de viaje bien vale la pena la experiencia, volveremos. . . . . . muy recomendable.

Not as comprehensive menu as you may get at larger establishments , but everything is cooked beautifully and the service is impecable. Very good value for money also. I have sadly, paid substantially more for a whole lot less. Always check out the specials board.

This is a small restaurant and not pretentious. You are welcome from the moment you enter and the staff are attentive without being overbearing. The starter chosen was spare ribs in a sauce and I can honestly say the best and most tender I have tasted. The same comments form my friends who were dining with us.

Been here a couple of times now with my boys and both times the food and service has been excellent. Ordered from both the main menu and the specials board it’s been spot on. Kids have also started to experiment with the food here and not just ordering pizza!

We took a couple of friends to experience this lovely restaurant this week to celebrate a birthday. We visited early on a Tuesday which meant the place was very quiet, but that is just how I like it. A new item on the starter menu, a warm terrine of wild boar was for me the star of the show, it was succulent, very flavoursome and really made a fantastic entree to a great meal. My friends wife, who's birthday we were celebrating, was very adventurous and had the barbecue spare ribs, which were plentiful and delicious, her husband followed my lead and had the terrine whilst my wife had garlic mushrooms, all this was accompanied by a generous sharing plate of croustini. For the mains I had my usual calzone, my wife had the duck, the birthday girl had the lamb rump with her husband choosing the chicken in a creamy sauce, all accompanied by a warm side salad, a special of the Via Verdi. Finally, a lemon tart for my friends wife and caramel cheesecake for me, (I couldn't let her eat alone), finished off a great meal. With drinks the bill was less than £100, bargain.

House Wine fue un excelente Merlot italiano por solo 10. 00 una botella, el único inconveniente es que es un pequeño restaurante con unas ocho mesas y estábamos justo al lado del inodoro.

Geoff is a wizard in a tiny kitchen making meals that are spectacular. Do not base your opinion on this place before you walk in. It's not in the prettiest of settings. IGNORE THAT! Once you're in, you're with a family who make this place special and unique. Bridget, the host will bend over backwards for you. A gem of a place and HIGHLY recommended. Oh and the lamp rump.....my god! 🤤

Éramos una gran fiesta. Pedimos muchas cosas diferentes del menú. Mi plato de champiñones estaba bien, aunque podría ordenar los chorizos la próxima vez. El plato principal de cordero era casi perfecto. Como cocinera aficionada, me hubiera sentido orgulloso de cocinar estas chuletas de cordero. Tal como está, al salir, le agradecí personalmente al chef / propietario y le estreché la mano. Fue tan bueno. Todos los demás estaban igualmente complacidos.

We heard about this lovely little restaurant when looking for somewhere to have a quiet meal to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. After looking at tripadvisor we thought we would give it a go and we were not disappointed. We had to eat early (6pm) which meant that we could have the best table in the house. Anyway on to the food, my wife had the garlic prawns (a very ample portion) with a side of croustini, whilst I had the sea bass and dill fish cake which was very tasty and whetted my appetite for my calzone pizza, I think the best I've ever had, packed with flavour and it hung over the plate, which is always the sign of a good calzone. My wife's main course was the lamb rump which is her favourite meat and was cooked to perfection. The main came with a warm salad which we shared and once again was delicious. To conclude our feast, I had caramel cheese cake with my wife opting for the profiteroles, naughty but very nice. The whole meal was washed down with a very nice bottle of Italian (what else) wine, which at £9.95 was the best value I have ever had in any restaurant, ever!!! We will definitely be eating here again, but if you want to eat here on a Saturday night you would be advised to book and be flexible as space is limited. If you want great food served by great staff and prepared by a great chef, Via Verdi is the place to visit, Buon Appetito

Comer aquí anoche El menú es corto con algunas ofertas especiales, pero eso es lo que esperaría de un pequeño establecimiento familiar. House fue una buena relación calidad-precio y fácil de beber. Si buscas flashear este no es el lugar sino un bocado para comer con algunos amigos, es ideal.

Really good value for money, tasty food and friendly staff

My wife and I went here on a Saturday night with two friends who live fairly locally and had this place recommended to them. First impression from outside is that it looks a bit like a cafe and as we went inside it looked quite small but with clever use of mirrors it actually looks bigger than it is. Having made a reservation we were shown to our table straight away (nice table for 4 in the window on a small raised floor - best table in the house - ask for it if you book) and made our drinks orders - all drinks very reasonable in price.

Been meaning to go and try this place. The reviews were good but I have to say both the starter, garlic prawns, and the mains, spiced monkfish and penne arrabbiata lacked any depth of flavour. On the whole very disappointing.

We booked on the strength of TripAdvisor reviews. We don’t know Leeds at all so it was a bit of a gamble, especially when we got in the cab in the city centre and the driver hadn’t heard of the place and didn’t know where Green Road was!
