Awesome place. Great service, lovely wine and food to die for. So now my 3 favourite restaurants are in Louth. Amazing stats for such a small town.

We did not find the restaurant welcoming, our waitress couldn’t even find a smile. The food was average, and only house wine available by the glass. It is not somewhere we would return.

I have used this restaurant many times over the years. The quality of the food has been consistently great. The service however, has deteriorated to the point that I will not return. I had hoped it may improve with the relaunch but sadly it has got worse. The owner is just so unacceptably rude.

We've been to Via Italia Restaurant 4 weeks running. First and second visits were light bites. Chose different courses each visit. Next to visits were pasta dishes. Every dish has been top quality and delicious. We've had four weeks of fabulous food from Via Italia. Looking forward to many more.

One of our favourite places to eat in Louth. My friend is gluten free- she had the pasta. My husband and friend had pizzas with extra anchovies. The service by 3 young lads was super quick, very professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

Myself and my fiancé celebrated a special occasion at this Italian restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The polpette and lasagna were perfectly cooked and seasoned, while the olives and seafood tagliatelle were hot, fresh and beautifully presented. The waiter was attentive, ensuring our experience was seamless. The pricing of the menu was excellent, making it superb value. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a combination of delectable cuisine and excellent service. Will definitely visit again!

Terrible,worst customer service I've ever experienced in all my years of dining out,waited 1 hr 40 for main course to arrive,when we questioned whether it was the correct meal the woman who served us become very arrogant and rude,when we told her she was being rude to us she threatened to take our meals away and kick us out of the restaurant,I'm here to serve people not be nice to people we were informed and then insisted she wasn't being rude and again threatened to kick us out,I wish we had let her in the end because the chicken pasta dish I had was very disappointing and was mainly just pasta and sauce with the very minimalist amount of chicken,certainly the least amount I've ever had,would never go back again and would advise others not to bother.

Please, please, please don't eat in this restaurant. Extremely disappointed with the service and the food was awful. We waited over 35 minutes for somebody to take our order and then another 20 minutes for the starters to arrive, the presentation was okay, but the starters were cold. Me and the wife, both ordered pasta, I had King prawns and the wife had salmon, in my pasta I counted 4 King prawns, and after my wife started eating her salmon paster, she found a great big chunk of skin that apparently had been mixed up with the pasta, look at the photo. I spoke to a young waiter and he said he would have a word with the kitchen staff but he never came back to me. I asked him again and he just said it was a mistake from the kitchen, at this stage, we called it a night and asked for the bill, we waited for another 20 minutes for the bill, in the end, and fed up with waiting we got up to pay at the counter. At the counter, I mentioned the chunk of skin my Wife had found in her Salmon pasta and how slow the service had been. The lady I spoke with had no manners whatsoever, she was extremely rude and her behavior was appalling. She shouted at me and accused me of being a serial complainer, and told me to never come back to a restaurant. Not going back to the restaurant is probably the best advice that she has given me, not a single Sorry, just don't come back. I would advise anybody not to even eat in the restaurant as the service and food are both appalling.

Very poor service is an understatement. Just told to sit there. Then we waited over half an hour and nobody even asked if we would like a drink!!! I cannot comment on the food as we never saw a menu!!! What a waste of time.

Just popped in for a quick meal before a concert at St. James. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, they managed to fit me in. Just had a main course (Pollo alla Creama), which arrived very promptly. All the staff appeared competent, friendly and helpful. Sensibly priced. Despite some negative views on this site, I found it to be perfectly acceptable. High standard of food, presentation, and service. Thank you

We were on a weeks holiday in Louth and Via Italia was a short walk from our cottage. The lady "front of house" was excellent, and managed to do some training of two young guys (who were obviously new), whilst supervising our order. We both had calamari to start, then a baked aubergine (Melenzana) and a spaghetti gamberoni for mains. Plus a couple of bottles of house wine. We've had several holidays in Italy, and can vouch for the authenticity of these dishes. We have some redecorating to do at home and admired the colour scheme. When paying our bill, the staff member showed us the tin of paint, in case we wanted to buy the same. Excellent friendly service.

I’ve visited this restaurant regularly for over 6 years now and always found the staff to be very warm and welcoming. The food has always been delicious and I’ve never had a bad meal - nor has anyone else at my table. I’ve had many wonderful social nights there and would definitely recommend it. Went tonight for our anniversary. Food was outstanding. Everything was fresh and hot. We had three courses and all where really tasty. The two young lads who served us gave us amazing service, could not do enough for us. Excellent all round will definitely return.

Had an evening in via italia. we usually use Montebello as it’s amazing, that was full so we decided to give this a go as we hadn’t been in ages. When we arrived it took at least 20 minutes to get drinks. We were in a group and it was busy so we didn’t make a fuss. The waitress that attended our table was a foreign woman, heavy build, tall, very arrogant. She’s been there years, manager. She’s rude, didn’t want to look after us, she was far more interested in socialising with a table of friends and checking herself out. The way she spoke with the young kids that work there was terrible. No kid of mine would work there I’d end up sorting her out. The staff worked so hard but were constantly shouted at and belittled by this rude manager. It is such a high pressure restaurant it takes away from the what should be a nice atmosphere. One girl was clearly crying. It’s clear to staff and customers the problem in there is the manager, the table next to us was saying she is always the same and has a reputation for being a bad boss and spiteful. Food was ok. Felt sorry for the chef he looked like he was ready to drop as well. Probably on minimum wage with no free pizza at the end of it all. Wouldn’t recommend Hiho hiho it’s back to montebello I go

Ate here twice during our visit to Louth. The food was really very nice. The pizza was delicious as was the salmon and prawn pasta.The staff and owner were extremely friendly and welcoming. It is very reasonably priced and the food was freshly cooked in front of you as you can see the open kitchen. I would recommend highly.

Back to this restaurant after two years and ready for an ‘experience ‘ and a long wait! But not too bad a wait....restaurant was fairly busy for two waitresses and we only waited 35 minutes for our starter and the main followed fairly quickly thereafter. Cheerful waitresses and but food a bit average for a proper Italian restaurant. The starter of mozzarella and ham was pretty good but the piping hot lasagne was not top notch! But we left full and refreshed ......and it was lovely to meet Jo from Cornwall again,now promoted to chef rather than waitress.

Weve been visiting Via Italia for many years and have loved the restaurant but it has changed hands. Always clean - food good but this time although when we ordered there was only 2 others who had ordered first we waited over three quarters of an hour for a main course . When we asked why it was taking so long we were just told that it 'took that long'. When the food arrived the manageress/owners wife was very sharp stating again the food takes three quarters of an hour as its freshly cooked. We ate and decided to leave - when paying not even a thank you - thank you or a simple so sorry for your wait would have been all that was needed - there are other italian restaurants in Louth we will try another next time.

Visited on a busy Wednesday, towards the end of eat out to help out.Table booked for 20.00, restaurant was very busy when we arrived. Perhaps unsurprisingly with the deal. We had to wait with others quite close by for 20/30 minutes. From the off they did not look organised for the levels of business they were doing, and since this was towards the end of the the chancellors deal this was disappointing they should have known and planned accordingly. So eventually to our table, with no discernible social distancing to the adjacent table. Another wait for the food, starters at 21.00. Calamari in tempora just okay, olives and bread a disgrace. Poor olives in rubbish olive oil, and three thin slices of bread.Two had pizza for main, passable though not great, I had bolognese sauce, small portion with an okay flavour. Risotto completed mains, average. Surly waitress to complete the picture. You would have thought the deal would have encouraged them to put on a show to get customers to return. We won’t, don’t go.

The food was good, risotto could have done with maybe 30seconds to 1 minute longer cooking.Considering there's a worldwide pandemic, the fact the waiter put one of the desserts down on another table for people to see - and breath over, are they unaware of the Corona Virus???

Booked over the phone last minute and the helpful staff squeezed all 7 of us in. The restaurant was very busy due to the government's eat for half price scheme, but this didn't detract from the excellent service from the friendly staff. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a good atmosphere.....would definitely recommend.

Had a table for 8 for a Saturday evening meal. Exquisite food loved by all, and the portion sizes were epic. Great dessert as well. Friendly and attentive staff, just a little wait for the food, but as so much is freshly cooked, it’s worth the wait. Reasonable prices too.

Visit the restaurant fairly often and order the prawn salad everytime, which is usually delicious. This time however, our visit was very disappointing. We were the only ones there but we're left waiting for our drinks for 15 mins after ordering them. In the end my partner had to go and remind the girl behind the bar. The food came but the prawns weren't warm as they usually are and there were no anchovies or padano cheese in the salad as stated. When the chef was informed of this he said they were 'mixed in'. They most certainly were not! I've eaten this dish many times and also being a foodie I'm very much not mistaken when I say key ingredients were missing. They also forgot my side order of fries. We won't be visiting again unfortunately.

We wanted to go somewhere we didn't need to book and so popped into Via Italia. We have been before and so knew what to expect. The staff were different on this occasion, however, and asked us every minute if we re ready to order (slightly overzealous for our liking, but better than being ignored!). Chose our pizzas and were not disappointed - tasty and the remainder put in a doggy box for us (which we ate for lunch the next day). Our friends, however, had their favour chicken in a creamy sauce dish with chips - hit the right note for them. Slightly functional seating and table settings, but good enough for what we want.

Have been a couple of times but the last one has put us off going back. My wife had a chicken pasta dish that smelt and tasted off. The owner eventually replaced the dish with something else but wasn’t the least bit apologetic. He was adamant the dish was ok but refused to taste it (he said he would taste it at the end of the night)

My husband ate Pasta with Prawns and I had white creamy sauce chicken chips and salad. Very pleasant light and airy restaurant. Pleasant staff.

Now then........we ( the southern softy marshals doing Cadwell Park) used to eat here regularly once upon a time! But the service then became so poor and the delay in eating so prolonged,that we crossed it off our list and went else where. Well......you have to vote with your feet sometimes!!But as we now stay Sunday night in Louth,we thought we would be bold.........And ,folks,it’s much better!! Clean. Excellent service from the lovely refugee waitress from Penzance who did a ‘proper job’ for us! Good tasty food and the tiramisu was declared excellent by our very own food guru who knows a good one when he tastes!!A surprisingly excellent evening and end of a great weekend of racing,company and food. Do you know..............I think we will go again now!So ,especially if you are from deepest ,darkest Cornwall......try this restaurant my luvvers and you will not be disappointed!

THE VIA ITALIA WAS ATMOSPHERICALLY UNFRIENDLY IN LOUTHWe decided to eat out one evening in Louth and the Italian restaurant Via Italia caught our eyes.It was very big inside and virtually empty. We wondered why. The waitress was extremely helpful and anxious to please. She even loaned me her glasses to read the menu because I left mine back in the hotel. At one end there was a cocktail bar, smart and full of mirrors.Looking around I saw arches and cream walls with a mysterious spiral stair case to access the upper floor. The hard pure black chairs help to give everything a clinical-some would say smart-look. I had more the feeling that this was a place for the Mafia to meet. I enjoy the charm and warmth of a friendly family Italian restaurant.We had a very small portion of prawns as a starter. They tasted well. I then had the chicken breast in pasta. Tiny bits of chopped chicken among the pasta. My wife returned her spaghetti Bolognese because it was not hot enough. We thought that the restaurant was overpriced for what we had received and the food was not well presented. We both decided not to stop for a desert or coffee.

Table of 17 and was quite busy with other birthday meals and to be honest I was pleased with my calzone and everyone else's meals came out hot and quite quickly so no one waiting for anyone which was good service I think .so I would recommend for the friendliness and service and also the food and I am quite picky .I even boxed up my leftovers as you get a very large amount.

Me and my friends went a couple of months ago and the pizza was great besides finding hair in two of the pizzas also the bottom was very greasy and did not look appealing decided not complain because the pizza does taste great but definitely not going back again

We had never visited the restaurant before even though we had lived in Louth for 11 years. We went on a Wednesday evening in April to celebrate our anniversary together and it was not busy. The waitress was very attentive. The food was excellent. The chef manager after having attended to all his cullinary preparations was happy to talk with us and share his passion. It made our evening so much more than just a meal out. Thank you.

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday, we ate pasta, vegetarian pasta and calzone. All cooked to perfection. Also had dessert which were also wonderful. Staff friendly and accomodating. Would have not qualms about going again for a special meal. Not my usual price range, but it was a special meal.

Been coming here for years always do a lovely steak ( via italia) and they make fresh for all dishes so easy to have them adapt the starter hot prawns without the cream. Nice wine as well.

Went to the via Italia was a bit skeptical having read some of the reviews didn’t know what to expect,but overall it was actually quite good so don’t always believe what you read.

Every Christmas Eve we go here and usually is lovely this year was ruined as they completely messed up, we ordered our food at 8pm and at about 8.30pm one of my uncles asked if he could order 2 extra pizzas to take home for his wife and kids. His extra pizzas arrived and he went home the remaining 8 still waiting for our food finally food starts to arrive however mine and my other uncles never arrived we sat there with no food after waiting all day saving myself for my pizza when we asked where they were they said they had been taken as takeaway which they had not and had been ordered separately they then told us they had run out of pizza dough although they were sending millions out as takeaways while telling us this. Therefore I had to get a takeaway from some where else on the way home this was at 10pm now 2 hours after ordering my pizza which never arrived. We will not be going there again and won’t recommend to anyone else

Had a lovely meal with my wife on a Sunday evening. Both the service and food were excellent. Despite initially being in her own (it should have been a quiet Sunday evening for the restaurant) the waitress did a fantastic job as onbooked diners arrived in a steady flow. Our meal was first class served without any delay. We will definitely return if we are in Louth again. Highly recommended.

Me and my partner came here on the 2nd for her birthday. Food was very tastey and very well presented. We had 3 courses, and all were absolutely tastey. The desert was probably the highlight of the evening. Only thing that was not good would be, that the price was a little much. But on the whole... a very, very good evening.

we arranged a staff night out and was looking forward to a lovely evening when we walked in there was a child around 10ish sat on the sofa near the door thinking it was a guests child we went to the bar to order drinks the owners wife was at the bar so i asked so i asked a young guy for the drinks we required to be told the owners wife had to serve us and she was talking to a guy she obviously knew personally as they was only talking general chit chat i had to interrupt her to get served as obviously her chit chat was more important than serving customers she did this a second time when i went back for a second drink. we finally got our drinks and sat to order our food we arrived at 8 and it took till 9 to get asked for our order we had a 7 yr old with us by this time she was getting past eating so we put our order in around 9pm waited till 10plm still no food we was told they had ran out of pizza bases tho none of our food had pizza base only my calzone so we spoke to the owners wife to see were our food is she replied i thought you had eaten and finished our reply was no and we would like our food we waited 1and a 1/2 hrs for our food the 7 yr old was too tired to eat my calzone was raw and the rest was very poor my partners meal was so small with a child's portion of chips every one said it was the worst meal ever and the owners wife was not interested. the poor waitress had to deal with it we got some discount but nothing like it should have been there was no apology. and the point with the little girl it seems it was the owners wife's daughter still running around the place behind the bar i don't think a bar restaurant is the place for a 10ish yr old to be certainly not at 11pm i think a bed at home is were she should have been either with her mom or a babysitter not in a bar restaurant disgusting will never ever go again and i have already told people to avoid it very very bad experience . and if i could i would not even give it a 1 star.

My friend and I booked a table for a Saturday night, however when we got there we were ignored for 15 minutes. When we finally got our table, the waitress took our drinks order which then took another 15 minutes to arrive. 30 minutes after we were seated the waiter took our order, including a starter of olives which took no less than 25 minutes to arrive with us! After being seated at 9.05, our main meals arrived at 10.10. My friends pasta was cold in the middle. The young waitress was very apologetic but of course it wasn’t her fault. The couple next to us, who were seated at the same time, had eaten starters and main by the time ours was delivered. They were repeatedly asked if everything was okay for them and whether they had received their main meals whereas we were ignored, despite me making frequent eye contact with members of staff to try and ask about our food. One woman in particular, who I think was the bar manager, sat down with a couple adjacent to us and had a ten minute conversation so the staff were obviously not so busy to justify such a wait time! We will not be coming back.

Had a large family meal here and everyone loved it. The food really was perfect and the staff warm and friendly. If you haven’t tried this restaurant I’d recommend you do so, I don’t think you’d be disappointed.

After reading reviews from other people, which seemed to polarise opinion, I did wonder what to expect, and I have to say our party reflected this, in their opinions.

Came here with no prior knowledge of the place, what a great surprise.

We had a beautiful meal here tonight, a group of workmates having a leaving do. The food was superb - all male members of staff we came into contact with were superb. At the end of the meal there was a small issue meaning that our total paid was slightly short - this was dealt with appallingly by a female member of staff who appeared curt, abrupt, even rude. The issue was sorted out, and the missing monies paid (about £4 on a £217 bill!!!!) But after earlier saying I would definitely revisit and recommend to others, after the way this lady spoke to us in would definitely not revisit or recommend!!!!

I went to eat with my family on Saturday night to celebrate Father’s Day. We were served our starters pretty sharp and our order taken promptly, including drinks which was delightful. But then we waited an hour and a half for our mains, a few waiters/waitresses passing by to ask if we want any drinks, by that time we still was wondering where our food was, it was almost like no one had realised? Then suddenly they realised that we didn’t have food, I’m guessing it was the manager who noticed - food came and carbonara was quite oily and also vegetarian pizza was a watery mess.

Went with family for my wife's birthday. Excellent service and food. We had a number of different starters and mains and all were excellent. Wife's meal free as it was her birthday so a great bonus. Recommended.

We love this restaurant anyway but we're normally there mid week and enjoying the amazing £23 (approx) deal that has 2 meals and bottle of wine.

3rd time for takeaway, pizza is always nice with decent quality toppings. created a dish for us that was not on the menu, ok it was a basic request but more than happy to accommodate👍🏻👍🏻.. will return again for sure.

I dined here with my family one Saturday evening. It has a great atmosphere with really lovely surroundings. I've been several times over the years and meals have always been very good. This birthday meal was no exception. The 5 of us enjoyed a variety of dishes across 3 courses. All the food was delicious, service was good and waiters friendly. My meal plus drink (cocktail) was deducted from the bill, as I actually dined on my birthday (ID shown) - that was a bonus! Highly recommended.

A few friends and I phoned up to order 3 take away pizzas. We were told that they would be ready to collect in an hour - a bit longer than what we would've hoped but we appreciated it was on the run up to Christmas and were happy to wait. We turned up at the given time to collect our pizzas and the lady behind the bar asked us to take a seat. After waiting for a further 15 minutes we then asked to see where our pizzas had got to. The lady came back and said they are going to be another 15 minutes "do you still want them?" Having worked in a restaurant myself I knew better than to have a go at the lady behind the bar, as I knew this probably wasn't her fault. She said a table of 40 had been seated for a Christmas do and our pizzas would be next. After pre ordering our pizzas to take away and waiting 15 minutes longer than they had given us already, I don't understand why our 3 pizzas would be after the table of 40. We left hungry having waited all this time. It was clearly very busy but our order should never have been taken in the first place. I hope this restaurant isn't like this the rest of the year.

Fui con la intención de pillar algo de comida para llevar y por lo tanto sólo en pantalones cortos y camiseta. Pasé a través de Italia y he pensado sólo en apariencia. Se veía relajado, así que pregunté si estaba bien para tomar una mesa....

Hemos venido aquí a menudo y siempre tienen buena comida. El pan de ajo es muy sabrosa y el spaghetti con mariscos es delicioso. El personal es siempre amable y servicial y la comida se sirve siempre bastante rápido. De nuevo, ya que algunas personas han mencionado puede ser bastante ruidoso cuando está ocupado, pero no ha sido un gran problema para nosotros. Volveremos.

I have reviewed previously some time ago but this restaurant deserves another review because, if anything, it's better than ever, but has always been good anyway.This visit was part of our anniversary celebrations and one always hopes that the meal experience will match ones hopes and it did.The reason this restaurant is good is fairly simple. If one observes the manager at work he does everything proactively and is totally in charge, monitoring his chefs, the staff whilst serving and welcoming clients warmly with a pleasant not put on smile. He is the ultimate professional and his restaurant totally deserves to be successful and I think it is.It's remarkable that I understand that he is Turkish but running a true to taste Italian restaurant. Very commendable. We had the outside advertised special deal @ I think £20.99 which included two main courses and a bottle of good house wine. This is excellent value and no corners are cut with this deal in that I emphasise their offered red or white house wine had been Italian and very good and the choice of main course is from any on the a la carte main menu but is only pizza or pasta.My only minor criticism is that the offer is not shown inside the restaurant within the menu but only on the outside so you'll not get it if you walk in without looking outside first!Our meal was superb. No criticism whatsoever. The service too was good and the cost excellent. My only concern is that anyone reading this review will rightly flock to the lovely town of Louth and Via Italia and thus getting in will be more and more difficult so pity that this positive review remains anonymous otherwise the owner could exercise some kindness in getting us in over the competitive clients that will now come!Well done. booked a table for 7 people for my mums birthday ,great welcome lovely atmosphere,meal was average ......had better italians although the garlic bread was amazing and the family enjoyed it ,what was dissapointing for me was the way they delt with the payment ,with it been a group booking some people just wanted to pay there part so we asked for the bill to be split they couldnt do that we could'nt pay part cash part card was a terriable and embarresing experiance all they had to do was use a calculator didvide by 7 ...........yes we could do it but its part of good customer service and we dont wanna be getting our own calculator out ,really need to up date and modernise threre till system and have some staff training did spoil the meal to be honest wasnt impressed with how they treated us the bill was just shy of £200 they really should of been more helpful ..........dont think i will return

We booked a table at Via Italia, prior to La Boheme, from Sicily. The Salmon on Asparagus was cooked to perfection. Also, Chocolate Fondant Ice Cream was superb. The waiters were friendly and charming. Lovely restaurant and so pleased we booked a table as the Tapas Bar staff were going on holiday.

Have been visiting this restaurant for many years and never a bad meal. Sometimes noisy as people like to celebrate here but the food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Our last visit a week ago was for no particular reason except to enjoy a meal with friends and the lamb chops were delicious (on the specials menu). Always start with a half and half - yummy.

Ate early so was very noisey. Food was served quite quickly. Garlic bread was delicious but mains lacked flavour and the sauce on the chicken tasted a bit synthetic and left a not too pleasant after taste .... disappointed with that. Lady on front of house was very pleasant.Just a tip ..... ask for no ice in soft drinks .... more than half of glass was ice with little actual drink !

I came here with 5 friends and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The staff were very pleasant and extremely patient. There was a varied menu and we all enjoyed our chosen meals.

Popular Italian in Louth. Can get busy and noisy. Good for kids. Food is ok but not special. Friendly service.

Went to Via Italia to have a pizza as as I was in town on my way to an appointment.When I entered the restaurant, as I saw it very busy, told the female staff who greeted me that I wanted to eat but that I had a time problem and I was going to eat if they could serve me quickly I told them that I wanted only a pizza. The female staff explained me that they were busy as the chef was not there and the owner of the business was improvising chef tonight and that was the reason they were so late in delivering food but not to worry she will make sure that I will be served quickly so that I could leave in time.Told her that if it was a problem I was prepared to go somewhere else as I did not want to upset their service, she still told me that she would make sure that everything was ok for me.After 40 minutes waiting I only managed to have 1/2 bottle of sparkling water so I decided that I have not enough time left to enjoy my pizza and still make it to the meeting so I approached one staff and told him that I was leaving.He was very rude and arrogant, as well as the same female staff that joined him immediately after I left the table, not a single word of apology for their dishonesty as they clearly misled me into staying knowing that they could not meet my expectations only to grab some more money.To add damage to the insult the charged me almost £2 for 1/2 bottle of sparkling water!I did not want to make a fuss in the middle of a crowded restaurant so I paid but I never return there and i have given star only because I could not give any less.Service and value are terrible, did not test their food but you can guess from the service...

A night out with the girls and we chose here as we felt Italian would be a pleaser for us all.The food was very nice although the salad looked a little tired. Nonetheless the staff were polite and helpful. I have struggled with my score as I wouldn't say the food was average however it didn't wow me and was quite pricey for what I got. Maybe I need a second visit.

I stayed the night in Louth at the nearby Kings Head hotel which doesn't serve food in the evenings. Via Italia was a short walk and had a welcoming exterior.Inside is modern and warm and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Sunday was a quite night but the full menu was available and I could see the Chef preparing the fresh food which is always reassuring.I had a great pizza freshly prepared that was as good as any I have had. The dessert was also very good as was the glass of house red wine.A lovely meal at a reasonable price with good service in a nice environment. That ticks all the boxes for me.
