Vevas Indo Bistro in Tameside

The service was excellent - very friendly and efficient. The food was amongst the tastiest I’ve ever had. The whole customer experience from start to finish was outstanding. We had a superb night at this restaurant. Highly recommended. 👍

We ordered on the website at 3.30pm on the 31st dec for an order to arrive for 18.30pm, 19.00pm arrived I rang the restaurant they said it had left to ring back in half an hour if we had not recieved it, we rang back in half an hour they said they were busy yes I understand that but we ordered food for 18.30pm they were not bothered about our food, 20.00pm we rang back they said they were busy we get them our address then they read a totally different address back, we asked if our food will be hot they said yes it would be 15 mins later our food arrived freezing cold, my partner rang back absolutly discusting service they told us to ring back tomorrow, very very disappointed with the service they should not be delivering if they know they are busy, we paid a lot of money aswell unfortunately we won’t be ordering from them again

Take away ordered over 2 and half hours ago. Nearly 10pm now and we’ve had to cancel our order. No dinner on Christmas Eve- not ideal!

Food and service was very good. The wait for the food coming was a little longer than expected but when it arrived it was hot and delicious. Prices are in the mid-range. When it gets busy, wait times and service attention can be affected. Will definitely go back and try again.

4 of us (2 x Couples) went to Vevas for a curry on a Friday evening. Nice and busy, great atmosphere and friendly staff. I had read some recent reviews before going on Facebook about staff attitude and waiting times, but thought i would give it a go due to it always seeming busy when passing . I found all the staff very friendly, food served very promptly, hot and nice and tasty. Couldn't fault the place. Would I go again - Yes Would I recommend it to friends - Yes.

Ordered a takeaway as a tester before visiting for a special occasion. Waited over two hours without any return turn call (so why did we provide a mobile contact number)? After chasing up twice, still no confirmation of delivery. They are happy to refund your money within 48 hours before putting the phone down on you. Sad, because it does look a good menu but the image appears to be not the reality of its claims.

We saw that this restaurant had recently won a curry chef award ( 2024) We decided to visit for that reason. Parked (£1.50 for 3 hours) in car-park next to restaurant. It was a Wednesday night, so not very busy. We were impressed by the warm welcome by the staff, and seated in a booth, which was very comfortable. There was four of us ( brothers) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food,which had generous portions, came nice and hot. I wanted to get a jug of lasse, but unfortunately they didn’t do them, which I felt was a shame, as they accompany a curry very well, and help digestion! We will return definitely.

Great meal in a lovely environment. Staff were really good. We all agreed we'd go again. I had a paneer dish which was very nice. And they do a buffet.

On Saturday 17th February I celebrated my 40th with 4 friends we all had a lovely meal at this restaurant. Curry was amazingly tasty & delicious, the cocktails were flowing lovey evening had by us all. The restaurant was busy with other birthday celebrations but the staff was always on hand checking each table. I even got a sparkler in a cake brought to the table with the staff singing happy birthday to me. Place overall is clean, tidy & a great atmosphere to be in Thank you to all the staff for such an amazing night myself and the girls had a lovely night at your establishment.

Absolutely the best indian meal I have had. The chicken tikka masala was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant, great setting and the staff were all fantastic

Not to usual standard, got a different menu and less specials for vegetarians, onion bajis dripping in grease and curry not as tasty as usual, maybe a different chef? Always found this venue to be a higher standard and offer some different dishes than the usual run of the mill Indian but the food quality and choice seems to have gone down hill. Such a shame.

Visited Vevas last weekend on an adhoc basis. Food was great with plenty of selection with some guidance sought from our waiter as to what the would recommend - which did not disappoint. The building and decor of this restaurant so nice - even the toilets! All the staff were very attentive, polite and always smiling. An added bonus was the pause (requested by myself) in the serving of our food between our starters and our mains which again the staff were more than happy to accommodate this. We would definitely return and highly recommend Vevas.

Excellent service and excellent quality food as always. Great atmosphere. Staff very attentive and eager to help, lots of different choices ordered and all really excellent and large portions.

Took 90 + minutes when it stated 25.50 minutes! Was cold and overcooked! Really disappointing as I love the restaurant! Wouldn’t use again!!

First time at this place and first impressions were good, friendly staff, nice traditional surroundings and a massive space to entertain. The food was good and decent portions and the drinks were at reasonable prices. The thing that wasn’t the best was the service, we didn’t have a dedicated waiter and getting a drink top up was near impossible they just check the tables to see if anyone wanted anything. Bearing in mind this was a Saturday evening with loads of staff and not many customers so they should have been all over it.

Booked on the back of a Facebook promotion offering “any starter, any main, plus poppodums rice or naan” for £15.99. Sounds good value until you get the menu which is nothing like the on line a la carte version. Heavily redacted and rules out seafood, prawns, lamb chops, biriyani and copious other things, so all in all not particularly good value at all. Food also very average. However, evening spoilt by large group occupying several tables who we were seated next to. Very noisy, lots of children allowed to run round the restaurant spoiling the ambience for the rest of the diners. Understand you might have booked a party, but maybe show a little consideration for the other people out for evening dinner? Not an enjoyable dinner at all, not great food or particularly good value. Will not be going again.

Tasteless food and very rude staff, will not be returning!!! There are plenty of other restaurants in Tameside that put this place to shame

Missing food from order from delivery. Phoned and told that I had to come down to collect, waste of time. Ordered a delivery for a reason.

Absolute fabulous place to eat , the staff were excellent very friendly and polite and the food was spot on , a definite must go to restaurant.

We came here with friends a couple of nights ago. We were expecting really good service and decent food as our friends had checked out the reviews. We all were sorely disappointed. Luckily before we chose and ordered our meals we asked if the chicken dishes which we wanted were chicken breast. The straight answer was NO. NO, for all the chicken dishes, it was either leg or thigh meat! We asked about the Chicken Sil Sila which was described as 'Chicken fillet'. The answer again was NO, it's a piece of chicken thigh which was sliced up for the dish. For £12.90 I would have expected chunks of breast meat instead of thigh. To be honest and our party have been to many many Indian restaurants, there has ALWAYS been chicken breast on the menu for dishes. Not everyone likes thigh and leg meat. When asked 'why there wasn't any breast meat' the answer was "we just don't" we only order other cheaper cuts of chicken. So, in a nutshell they are cheaper cuts of chicken but expected to pay for dishes that cost the same price as breast meat. Needles to say we then had to order something else that we really didn't want. If we hadn't been with our friends we would have left the restaurant. The service wasn't great either, the restaurant wasn't that busy, that said our waiter called RED 1 was really polite very helpful and did apologise for the long wait that we encountered, which wasn't his fault. The dishes we ordered were O.K King Prawn Sylheti and a paneer dish. To be fair the naan breads were really tasty and fresh. Without going on about other issues that we encountered we definitely won't be eating there again, which is a shame because I think that if the management team got their act together it could be a really good dining experience. I think that there are far too many other Indian restaurants that are competing for business around the Tameside area and management need take stock of the situation if they want to retain a long and outstanding successful business.

7 of us came here after seeing a nice dela on Facebook of 3 courses for £10.95. The place was very nice decor and I hadn't been before. The deal was deceiving as it was a poppadoms, side and main for 10.95, saving you around 30p off the menu. 15.95 if u wanted a starter too.l, saving around 60p There is a large menu, its a nice location for other bars nearby but my curry should have been a bhuna but wasn't very spicy. Nice place to visit but not the best of first impressions

Well a hidden gem of Stalybridge Decor gorgeous and relaxing Food choice plenty for every taste Food tasty and done perfectly Seating not to overcrowded Service next level other establishments should visit and learn from here Cleanliness spotless and very quick to clean up including bacterial sprays I can safely say this will be my new Indian restaurant of choice. Absolutely fantastic place to eat
