Brilliant experience, well worth a visit. Downstairs is a really nice wine bar and upstairs is the restaurant. The guy at the front of house was faultless, so attentive and a great host. Menu choice was really good and the quality of food was exceptional.

People of Darlington (and North East) you need to get yourself to Vesuvio. Best know as lively wine bar, they have recently opened a restaurant upstairs. We visited with friends, five in total, on a Friday evening. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced for fine dining. Wine list was extensive, as you might expect for a restaurant above a wine bar. Service was friendly and efficient. Amazingly and sadly, we were the only party in, on a Friday night! Why? People of Darlington - use it or lose it! We will certainly be back.

We had the taster menu although tbf the al carte had some delightful offerings. Taster was hit and miss. Hits venison tartare, steak and desert. Misses starter caviar gold on teaspoon. Wine pairing was worth the £30 each and complimented the courses. Service was average with lack of cutlery more than once. Toilets need a good clean. Versuvio has something and we'd certainly return

Had Sunday lunch today at Vesuvio for the first time. Our meals were absolutely first class - very generous portions with a huge bowl of accompanying vegetables cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and friendly. The prices were very, very reasonable for the quality of the food. Without doubt the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time.

FABULOUS new dining experience in Darlington. If you love quality food, cooked with love, and first class service , then this is the place for you. Three of us all had different dishes that could not be faulted. Don't know how they do it for the price! A new 'go to' in Darlington. Special thanks to Katie, little gem.

Had lunch today, we had 3 courses and each course was fantastic, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff knowledgable and friendly, already booked again for lunch, best place in town.

Visited the restaurant for a birthday meal and couldn’t fault it. The staff were very attentive and lovely. Service was prompt. The food is outstanding. Everyone enjoyed what they had…there were 5 of us and we all had different things and everyone said how delicious their food was. I had the pigeon to start, the venison as a main and the apple crumble panna cotta as dessert. I would recommend all of the dishes. Definitely returning soon!

The restaurant town has been missing since Truffle closed it's doors. The food is outstanding. We had 3 courses each, and couldn't fault any part of it - the Venison was a standout, beautifully cooked and a chocolate sauce to die for. The staff are brilliant - knowledgeable, yet friendly, attentive without being intrusive. As expected, wine was superb - great that you can get so many wines by the glass rather than committing to a bottle. A large glass for £6 is unheard of in the town centre as well. For three courses each, with the standard of food provided, 6 large glasses of wine and 2 large glasses of Prosecco on arrival, to pay less than £130 was remarkable. A place we will visit time and time again. Well done to all involved.

To put this is simple terms. The food is out of the this world, I was so impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. The staff were professional and did everything thing they could to make your experience the best it could be. Probably the best place to eat in Darlington at the moment. Bravo !!!

Sunday Lunch at Vesuvio, what an experience, combined with an excellent wine selection by Andrew Yeates. One of the finest meals I have had in many years. We will return.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars. Been twice recently and both times were excellent . One was an evening meal and this review is for a lunchtime. We had starters, main courses and desserts. Starters we had salmon and ham hock, main courses pork fillet and chicken supreme and desserts pornstar martini cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding.

Saturday lunch date with friends and we couldn't have had a nicer time. The service in this newly refurbished restaurant was fantastic. We felt so welcome and relaxed ...and that was before the excellent house wine. The restaurant is upstairs and has a lovely decor and atmosphere. We ate from the lunch menu, I had the salmon (it was lush) and the others had bellypork flatbread. We had sticky toffee pudding (the girls said it was the lightest they'd ever had) or porn star martini cheesecake with prosecco ice cream...what's not to like there....it was heaven. Can't wait to come back .

Very very good Sunday lunch. Really attentive service, food was excellent, struggled to fit dessert in! Menu is focused, and allows quality of ingredients and skill of Matei and his team to shine through. Will return.
