Sortie - Charcuterie & Bar in Darlington

Fabulous cheeseboard and Will was the hostess with the mostess when he came over and explained what each cheese and accompaniment was. Lovely wine at atmosphere and a must try. Oh, and the Baileys coffee was to die for. Well done Sortie!

This place in an alley in the city center of Darlington is a jewel! We ordered a bottle of wine and then ordered the 3 meat/3 cheese tray with extra walnuts. To find out the chutney is made by the owner's mother and the owner herself pickles all the vegetables was huge plus! The choices of local meats and cheese rounded out a delightful evening. We WILL be back!

We were lucky to get a table for 2, we couldn’t fault our experience from start to finish. Service was excellent and the food was really tasty ! We will definitely be back.

An absolute GEM in the heart of Darlo! This place is amazing. Cosy and intimate with lots of lovely candles. The staff are fantastic - friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their products. The sharing boards are gorgeous - a great selection of meats and cheeses but also lots of chutneys, pickles and other ‘bits’ to go with them. After also eating at other similar venues in Leeds (Friends of Ham) - they do not come anywhere close to Sortie! I cannot recommend this place enough! If you like cheese and charcuterie you HAVE to visit. You won’t be disappointed.

An amazing place tucked away in Darlington centre. Lovely meat and vegetarian platters in a lovely atmosphere. Will is very helpful and welcoming. I could stay all day.

We had a lovely evening celebrating a family birthday. We enjoyed the delights of a couple of Full Board sharing platters. Everything was tasty and of high quality. The advice from the knowledgeable staff was extremely helpful , they were all welcoming, friendly and professional. The wines we selected were very good and good value, cocktails ordered were excellent too. The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere. We’re looking forward to our next visit. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hidden gem of Darlington. Doesn’t feel like you’re in the North East of England when you’re inside: the perfect escape. Food, service, cocktails, ambience, all outstanding. The attention to detail on the charcuterie boards and the way they are explained when brought to the table make for a real treat. Well worth booking a table as it’s only diddy but perfectly formed.

Four of us went despite having seen previous reviews regarding the stinginess of cheese, it would appear that those comments have not been taken on board (excuse the pun). We ordered two mixed boards and again one bit of brie, two small bits of goats cheese and one sliver of gouda, plus three others cheeses hardly in the quantities to share between 4. On the plus side the meats were plentiful and the bread was very good and the pecorino wine was beautiful. Not value for money in this day and age.

Unusual eating place, compact and bijou. Nice food but could have done with more choice with what we wanted on the platters. Only choice was blue cheese or not. In my opinion, a bit stingy with the cheese but lots of charcuterie! It was nice, and would go again.

Absolute hidden gem of a place. Superb food and incredible service. The IPA was excellent too as was the wine. I'd recommend booking a table if you can as it gets busy on a weekend. Great to see something like this in the town.

Ah Sortie. Such a great spot. Staff are such nice humans. Cocktails are of good quality. Wine list is decent without being exhaustive but covers many of the bases. Charcuterie is tremendous and always presented and explained with a passion for the food that's just wonderful to see. Atmosphere is always pleasant.

Lovely food, and good selection of wines and cocktails. Good friendly staff that tell you the origins of all the cheeses and meats that they bring to you. Not really a restaurant as such but if its hearty snacking and a drink or two you want in a nice cosy environment, then I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

I don't think there's anything like this place elsewhere in Darlington. The food is a taste sensation and cocktails/wine were of the highest standard. Don't hesitate to get booked in!

This place is gorgeous, we felt we had been transported to a very special French or Spanish cave serving delicious charcuterie with great staff and and a great atmosphere! This is a real find and we will definitely be going back, it's fabulous to have somewhere different to eat out in Darlington!

Amazing food and chilled ambience, best dining experience I've had in a long time. We moved to Darlington a few weeks ago and have been three times already. The staff team are all great, very friendly but also very talented and knowledgeable about both their food and drink. UK based produce presented and combined with panachè. First visit last night, all I can say is WOW. Cute little place, lovely ambience. Had the sharing platters, the food was out of this world, loved that it was all introduced including it's origin, lots local. Perfectly chilled Pinot Grigio to go with. The young man that served us was lovely and friendly and very attentive too. My new favourite place, can't wait to come back. Perfect little place, well done 💖

2nd visit to Sorties and it did not disappoint, had the £28 sharing platter.All the meats , cheeses , pickles , bread and fruit were a delight to the pallette.I love the fact you can sit and nibble for 2 hours at least.Very friendly staff who make you so welcome.

I have never been before so I didn't know what to expect but when the food was brought to us I really enjoyed it I would definitely go again and the staff where brilliant really friendly and very helpful

Nice atmosphere, the food was average, somewhat over priced for the amount. Pic taken is of a £20 board with no food removed from it. Also they put a load of chili on it without any prior notice which was a shame as I dislike spicy food.

Oh my word! Ambience is just lovely. Team who work there are super friendly and knowledgeable. The food.....what can be said? We had the selection of 4 meats with the accompany of cured beetroot and balsamic onions. It was TOP DRAWER! I can't wait to go back.

My favourite bar staff are amazing. Sharing boards are brilliant and perfect to share over a few drinks.
