Veeru's Bar & Grill in Birmingham

We hired Veerus as our wedding caterers. We went for a tasting and it was so good, the flavours were all there. Fast forward to the wedding day the canapés and the evening food was spot on HOWEVER the main food for the sit down meal was a huge let down. It was not what we tried at the food tasting, the rice was watery, the roti was burnt! The curry had no flavour and the sauce of it was so watery! the dhal was not buttery like when we had tried it and to top it off they used the most ridiculous serving plates ( you literally couldn’t fit anything in them) we had to ask for more food to be put in the bowls as there wasn’t enough to go around the table. Overall we were very disappointed especially as the sit down meal was not what we expected. We tried to raise with to Shevy ( the owner) but he wasn’t having none of it, and we have chased and chased and yet had no response! I wouldn’t recommend Veerus as wedding caterers ,so disappointing and they even turned up late on the wedding day!

It's just OK...Pretty average for a place like this. I suspect the place next door has taken away most of their business as that format (Curry Pub) seems to be more popular these days (especially with the younger crowd).

I was taken here for my birthday by my sons. We hadn’t booked but on entry we we’re warmly welcomed, given a choice of table and immediately offered drinks, even a sample of one of the beers we had not previously tried. The staff are helpful, polite and attentive but not intrusive. We spoke with the Owner/Chef who came to our table and on enquiring about the opportunity for a Madras which was not in the menu, we were told “no problem they can produce one if required”! Eventually we ordered popadums which were fresh, 2 seafood mixed grills, a meat boneless mix grill, Madras sauce (excellent) and one portion rice. In fact all the food was excellent and certainly plenty for all of us and my sons have large appetites ! Overall a very pleasant first visit and hopefully the start of many. Would highly recommend.

Good food, very reasonable price. Awful service however. Double booked and then asked to sit outside by server (it’s 3 degrees outside).

Had a great night with the football team & dads. Food & service was great. Veerus kindly sponsored our team this season. Thanks Shevy & the team.

Came here last week, great quality food, heat staff, what more do you want. I got the tawa chicken would definitely recommend 👍

All servers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food the chefs were preparing and were appreciative of dietary adjustments, which were communicated clearly and respectfully to the chefs. The food was absolutely delicious and the menu has a lot of variety to cater to many palates. The background noise is at a nice level where you can have a conversation with your table without being overheard so there is privacy. And we got to watch a little bit of sports with our meal too, which added a level of comfort to our date. In short, this is a really nice place to eat and we really enjoyed our visit. Would recommend to anyone looking to have a small get together, and would be perfect for after work drinks/food.

Popped in on recommendation will certainly return! Food was amazing and a great selection of drinks. I'm a local lad and this is the best in Sutton at the moment. Service was great Katie was a great host 10/10

We have always enjoyed the food hear as you will see from my earlier review. Recently however the food itself we have had as a takeaway has been unconsistent. Portion sizes fluctuate from normal to very small and items have been missing from the order the last few times we have ordered..our biggest bug bare is you order to collect at a certain time , 6pm in this instance and then at 6.30pm its only just ready. This happens repeatedly. What is the point in pre ordering. I like Veerus and really want to get themselves back in the game and re find their standards

Food is the best ever fresh ingredients fresh food and fresh ingredients the kitchen staff and wait and waiters were on point

The food was insanely good I can’t even. Had takeaways from them before and today was our first in house visit. So friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Will be back for sure! Katie and Veron you’re legends!

Staff were welcoming seated us and sorted food and drink for us all. There suggestions were excellent. Would recommend a visit.

We went to Veeru's on a Saturday Evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.I had Fish Pakora to start which was lovely,and Garlic Chilli Chicken curry for main.I can honestly say it was the most succulent Chicken I have ever had in a curry.Which was washed down by a few pints of Cobra which were top notch.

We had a nice birthday meal in a calm, homely environment. The football was one but not too loud, just right, enjoyable for sure. The food was great, good sized portions at a good price. Good selection of drinks too. Overall 10/10
