Vandal & Co Dundee in Dundee City

Waiting staff were lovely. Food came after an hour of waiting and was burnt. As someone that knows about deep friers, the oil does not look like it has been changed in a long time. Will attach a photo of the chicken burger. Did not finish food will not be back.

Good menu, helpful staff (made a mocktail on request). Slight delay in getting our food. Food was well cooked and very tasty.

Honestly, I would go here again for the Mozza Fingers alone. Life changingly good mozzarella sticks. All the food seems fresh and well cooked. Only bugbear is that the burgers come separate from the fries.

We just had a fantastic meal at Vandal & Co to celebrate a family birthday. The staff were excellent, food was delicious and price was very reasonable (50% discount on food!) Thoroughly recommend a visit!

We were recommended this place and it did not disappoint - the food was unreal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The kids ate free with us adults having a meal. Lovely atmosphere within. Definitely recommend and we’ll be back.

We were in today as part of a hen party of 15 of us. Food was good. Service was perfect. Can't remember the waitresses' name, but she was brilliant. Would definitely go back.

Visited for the first time today and I have to say If you like a burger you will not find better than Vandal & Co in Dundee, proper juicy, tasty burgers cooked to perfection, with a good choice of fresh and tasty toppings. I love a burger and I was impressed. Definitely worth a visit.

This was a lucky find on our 3-day trip to Dundee. The moza sticks are super chunky. The burgers have something magical going on! Really friendly guy running the place, super cool artwork all over the place and a neat playlist on the speakers sets off a super chilled vibe. Would definitely come back if visiting Dundee again.

Partner ordered nachos which included guacamole. They took forever to arrive and without the guacamole. When this was enquired about the server stated they were out of guacamole. It's fine if something is sold out, but don't try to just omit a key part of a meal and hope the customers don't notice.

Fine service, atmosphere what you might expect - absolutely shocking food, might be okay for regular folk but I'd recommend vegans avoid. Burgers weren't too bad (though not what one might hope for at the price point) but vegan 'nachos' were just cold tortillas with mustard, some vegan beef substitute and vegan sour cream. 'Black forest gateau' was a dry sponge with chocolate icing (yes ICING) and some glace cherries.

Great food and atmosphere well worth a visit

Food was really disappointing. Cocktails were lovely. We questioned the bill as we were overcharged and the girl was really rude to us about it. They put a £6 service charge on the bill and when we said we didn't want to pay the service charge she just said she couldn't remove it. Really bad customer service. Also they have a questionable WiFi password. Not the Friendliest

AWFUL OWNER. DONT LINE HIS POCKETS! Food and staff here are great, but don’t ever eat here. The owner of this restaurant is awful. I’ve spoken to members of staff about this and they told me that he often withholds pay, and cuts staff off without reason. He brings in an entire new set of staff every six months and lies to them about what happened to the last bunch. He’s extremely rude and misogynistic to members of his female front of house staff, on shift and in front of customers.

The manager has awful customer service and even worse treatment of staff, particularly females in-front of guests. Despite the staff being amazing at their jobs. Don’t eat here.

Burger I had was so full of sauce that it was unmanageable. Could not taste the burger. Sauce got everywhere. Have lots of sauce does not = good burger. Tried some of my friends rice. Bland and mushy. Chips underdone. Onion rigs had no taste. Dessert was awfully dry. Not worth the money. McDonalds is better, cheaper and their restaurants are warmer 🥶 Will not be going again. No idea why it has 4+ stars 🤔

Really gutted used too be a great wee place had a meal with my partner this evening and the food was just soggy , bland and overpriced definitely gone down hill

Firstly the food was AMAZING, the burgers were first class, I also had salt n pepper fries which were spot on 👌, The faults unfortunately were... , we arrived and I took my coat off but within 5 minutes it was back on because the temperature of the room was 14 degrees(we were sat by the thermostat)..quite a few tables kept their coats on, secondly there was no soap in the male toilets , but as stated at the start..the food was AMAZING..

We have visited Vandel on a number of time and always enjoyed are meal, but have to say we were both disappointed in our burgers today dry and tuff this time didn't enjoy our meal as much. Fries not very good. Service was brilliant always. Maybe just a bad day.

Waited over an hour for three simple meals. The bowls were definitely not bowls, one mearly being rice with sauce for 15£. It all started with two of the bottled drinks not available and horrible coke. The bites were interpreted as starters without asking delaying the food even more. Haloumi fritters were food, cauliflower supposed hot with siracha but weren’t. Burger rather dry, fries undercooked, noodles in ‘bowl’ overcooked. We were asked several times if we were OK even when we had asked for the delayed food already which felt really rude. Cannot recommend, not a good experience.

Great food and great service! We came in for dinner with the Chickpea Fritters & G-Bread to start followed by the Wife Guy and Fear and Loathing burgers as mains - we loved it all and really couldn't find fault with it. The cocktails were amazing - especially Purple Rain. There was a good range of Plant Based options which suited us as Vegetarians and Vegans. There were some issues with the printer which meant the food was a bit slower in coming out but the staff more than made up for it with their attitude, apologies and complimentary dessert. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Dundee!

Waited over 60 min to get our food. The server came over repeatedly and asked if we wanted more drinks. Nice but after an hour of waiting you don't want more drinks but food. Servers were nice but did not listen to what we asked/ said. The table was sticky. Proportions are small for the money you pay. The noodles were overcooked, same with the burger, burnt and dry. Waiting 70 min and eating in 10. Overall not a great experience.

Another Hidden Gem on the list of Dundee Restaurants. Vandal & co inspired me by their menu on the door. After we got in ... well... all, I m gonna say the Linited Edition was way better from what I was expecting! The way of the crisp chicken in it and the flavours of it .... well you get the idea! I will defo come back again! Btw the frites reminded me a restaurant that its a top noch! Very good guys keep it going! Recommended. PS: here you will understand how good was it!

I had heard good things about here, so decided why not give it a try. There was a good few veggie options which suited a couple of the group. Pictures of the food that I had saw looked really nice. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meals and the staff were nice. I enjoyed my meal as it was really tasty with some good flavours however just a small think I would change would the oil as the chips and onion rings looked like it had been cooking in oil that needed changed, also was a bit shocked at the cost of drinks especially £3.75 for a tin of juice.

Although the service was excellent with polite staff, I gotta say the food wasn't deserving of the price point. Ordered a Notorious P.I.G, fried and chicken tenders starters. Chicken was waaay overcooked and rubbery. Fries appear to be store-bought frozen fries. The burger was actually pretty good, but the bacon topper was like a big soft rasher with a huge chewy rind left on. Atmosphere seemed friendly enough, but closely packed tables etc.

Highly highly highly recommend for brunch. Also they make their own hot sauce shown in the picture. I'd go just for that sauce - so good! Espresso drinks were really nice as well.

Came here whilst visiting my daughter with her boyfriend & my wife ,unfortunately it wasn't a great experience . We waited over an hour for our food & tbh the place wasn't busy . The food eventually came out & the majority of the meals were great except one of the burgers which was burnt & not great . The waiting staff were great & apologise but having waited an hour didnt want to wait any longer . The staff did discount our bill . The cocktail offers are great & tasty unfortunately the overall experience was let down as mentioned with the long wait hence the three stars .

Friendly staff, have had better burgers elsewhere to be honest hence only 3 stars. Chicken starter was really nice (think was called salt n pepper). Approx £20 / person sharing a starter & soft drink. The tables don't give much privacy - if you are looking for a romantic date go elsewhere, if you are looking for a meal with a non-romantic friend is OK.

Excellent service , friendly staff. Food was amazing . Tried the starter, chicken with chocolate sauce ,Sounds funky but it works well it was unbelieveable. We also had salt n pepper chicken and a Katsu as starters . Everything was delicious . All our burgers were so tasty. Both meat and chicken purshased. All 4 were amazing. 10/10

We ordered the own my planet vegan platter which was £19. The tofu was very dry and bland, everything tasted the same with little to no flavour and all just very deeply fried and very dry. The chips were quite soggy too and didn’t appear to have any salt on them. Also really flavourless. Overall just super disappointed, the platter didn’t look appetising at all, and this meal is completely not worth £19 and I’m surprised you are able to charge this much for it, considering it is mainly veg. I have to say though, the staff were really lovely and attentive. Couldn’t fault them at all but extremely disappointed with the food, definitely a waste of money and had to go home to cook dinner. Not planning to return!

Had a totally new experience , a quirky restaurant, Service and food was excellent.

Food was great, lots of different options. Ramen, burgers, steaks, with a variety of different starters/sides. All agreed the food was awesome. Only downside, a pint of beer needs to be a full pint, not two inches of heady foam.

Tremendous wee place! Loved everything about it, the decor, the music, the service and the food. Go for the Tuesday burger and shake deal. The chocolate milkshake was easily the best I've ever had!

Ridiculously long wait on food, awful service and terrible food! Never again

This place is terrible, the wait on food is unreasonably long. Our garlic bread was stale with little to no garlic on it. My ‘spicy noodles’ arrived cold and had no flavour. The tofu in it wasn’t even cooked at all. The worst part was talking to the owner. When we complained about the quality of our food he was extremely rude, did not apologise for our experience and instead was very defensive and blamed us. He kept cutting us off when we tried to speak and even threatened to make the waitress pay for our food?! I assume to make us feel bad, although with the state of their food this is probably a daily occurrence for him.

This place is bad, they try to look rustic although it’s just a cheapy overpriced restaurant, the food tastes microwaved and it comes so late and the bread is brittle, the food has no flavor, my chicken tasted of plain bread, me and my friend had 2 bites and left the plate full, the food was also cold, the manager was moody and unwelcoming, never come here When the Bill came he didn’t charge us for the food because it was god awful and he THREATENED TO CHARGE the very nice WAITRESS that has been working so hard all night, which is illegal and so rude, when we asked why he was threatening to charge the waitress he didn’t say anything and just groaned

Fantastic meal out, did bring a 9 month old who was extremely messy but was treated fantastically by the staff Apologies for her noise and spillage but honestly your food was delicious and really appreciated the hospitality Also that milkshake was dynamite!

Great burgers. My only gripe would be no non alcoholic alternatives on the drinks menu, a nice wee IPA zero percent would be nice but I understand it's a small market. Second visit and week be back again soon.

Food and atmosphere were good. I really didn't like that they were desperate to sell us shots and charged us £5 each last time. In general I would think twice before I accepted their offers..

Had lunch here with a couple of friends, all of us veggie/vegan & we all loved it! Really good range of vegan options & everything was very tasty. Good portion sizes. Friendly service. Will definitely go back 🙂

Had to scrape the onion ring off my "meat and greet" as it was dripping cooking oil 🤮. I can't remember the name of the mayo/sauce it was topped with but it was a tasteless congealed blob on top of burger that was about half the size of the bun. My partner had the "grim reaper". Apparently there was a jalapeno in there, but that was it, no sign of the slaw. More grim than reaper. Coffee served in a single walled glass, no handle. The coffee was good, but was cold by the time my food arrived. No alcohol free beers on offer. The chips were good, and service was too, staff are very happy and cheery but doubt we would go back.

Saw a review saying there was limited gluten-free options and just had to leave a review to say that there is actually tonnes of gluten-free options available! The burger rolls are amazing, the buttermilk chicken burger is actually in batter (usually you have to get plain grilled chicken as a gf option) and I even got gluten-free churro waffles one time as a dessert!! They are so accommodating and I've never had any issues. The cocktails & milkshakes are amazing too. We now go here at least once every few months as it's the best for gluten-free in Dundee in my opinion. The deals and staff are great too!

Really nice meal, chips were excellent , chicken starter fresh and tasty but needed a spicy dip to give it a kick, overall nice place , great cosy atmosphere and good tunes all at a great price, will defo be back.

I always have a good experience every time I visit Vandal. It's such a wee hidden gem in the city centre. Fabulous options for both meat eaters and vegans alike. The incentives they offer such as tax free Thursdays and £5 cocktails during the week are brilliant and I think more places should consider tactics like these to bring more customers in. "Ocean Eyes" is a delicious cocktail!

Drinks are great. They make the cocktails so fast and who doesn't like £5 tails? :) weekdays only.

Me and my friend only came for drinks which were under £10. When we wanted to pay, we were going to pay by card, that is when the owner told us that we cannot pay by card anything under £10. They do not have any sign displayed that says that, I think they were only frustrated because we did not order any food.

So good! Super friendly service, quick too. Food is great, possibly the best steak I've ever had. Not the cheapest, but definitely worth every penny.

Place is a bit loud due to no soft furnishings Food wasn't too bad although the wait was longer than acceptable sadly. Limited gluten free options. I went for a burger and surprisingly the bun wasn't bad for being gluten free.

Great little place. Food is delicious and portion sizes are well worth the money. Cocktails are amazing. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is laid back and kid friendly. Samuel the waiter is a credit to the establishment. Definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic evening. Very impressed with the quality of service, food and style of the place. The choice of food and beers on tap were great. Second time here and although very happy with both, I tried the triple threat and it was incredible. Super tasty, well priced and proper portion. We will be visiting again soon! I had read the reviews before going here but I'm beginning to wonder who wrote them as I ordered chicken noodles, well what can I say....stodge...with a few bits of chicken... Won't be back nor recommend.

First time in here, they have a daily deal on, so we won't for that . The food was very good and plentiful, we couldn't finish all the food . The staff were excellent and very helpful ,the toilets were clean and tidy. We will definitely return here

Chips were amazing, burguer was a bit overcooked but tasted great.

Food was okay but the speed of the service was shocking, ordered 2 cokes and took 20 minutes to arrive, another 40 minutes for our food. Luckily we weren't in a rush

Worst restaurant I have eaten at in 49 years. I never complain and never leave feedback as I simply speak with my feet. Having gone there last Friday and had the worst service/food I have probably ever had I felt compelled to complain and leave a review. We were given a 75 minute slot to eat and leave and the food only appeared after 50 minutes. Starter was boring and the main was returned as it was so tasteless. I witnessed a table of 8 people complain and leave and then found out the table next to me had actually been given our food. They also said it was tasteless. After 70 minutes we were asked if we wanted desert to which we said 'no' but instead asked for another cocktail. The server came back 2 minutes later and said we had to leave as there was another reservation on the table. Horrible service, horrible food, completely short staffed and whoever is in the kitchen needs to learn their trade. Do not waste your hard earned here......😒

Words can't describe how good this place is. My friend and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night. It was busy so I'd definitely recommend booking a table in advance. The food was beyond delicious. I had the satay stir fry with chicken and my friend had the drunken noods also with chicken. Both delicious. However, our desserts stole the show big time. We shared the churro waffle and Vandal brownie. Amazing. Words can't describe it. Just go and try them. The staff were fantastic. Very friendly, attentive and polite. No doubt we'll definitely be back.

I ordered burger for me and for my daughter via Uber. The burger for my daughter was burned. It came with no sauce or vegetables inside but full of fries. My burger was also not so great. They basically try to fill us with horrible fries but not with burger. I do not think I will ever order any food from them.

Delicious food! I arrived late to a group meal and they had order my food ahead. Within minutes of sitting down the staff brought my food over. It was the vegan drunken noodles, and it was amazing. One of the best noodle dishes in Scotland. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The staff/bar member Sam was extremely friendly, funny and made our whole meal a real treat. The food and drinks are well priced for the value. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Dundee.

The vegan option was okay but I feel as if the burger was lacking crunch. Some lettuce or onion would have added a lot to it

After being recommended here by one of their own. I decided to visit after a long warm day at the golf range. Upon arriving I was kindly greeted by staff and show to my seat. The menu shows a good and suitable range of foods to try, covering all matters of dietary options. I decided to go for the ramen since it has beena while, my god it was beautiful! However my only problem was that there are no chopsticks.... ironically lol. Nevertheless, I'll be back again for more.

The food is so so good and the selection of cocktails is great. Something for everyone. The homemade soda's are fab also!

After I made a mistake with the booking, the staff were able to arrange an alternative instead of sending us away. They later sent a message directly to my phone to let us know the table was ready. Fantastic communication. When we arrived, we were very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of the staff; helping us with cocktail choices or questions we had about the menu. We had a vegan, a vegetarian, and a gluten-free; all of which praised Vandal for their choices and quality to cater to their needs. To top it all off, the food was absolutely incredible - with a great Monday deal too. I want to thank Eve and (apologies, I didn't get everyone's name) the staff for making our evening.

I ate here for dinner with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed our evening. The food was lovely and the cocktails were delicious. We were served by a lovely girl called Rachel. She had a great personality and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We didn't feel rushed while eating and everything seemed to be running smoothly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends and I will be back again.
