I recently visited Vaghaar and overall had a positive experience, but there were a couple of things that kept it from being perfect. The food was excellent! Each dish we tried was packed with authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and left us feeling satisfied. The menu offers a great range of options, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It's clear that they put a lot of care into their ingredients and preparation, making it a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy quality Indian cuisine. However, the service could have been better. While the staff was friendly, the service was quite slow. We waited longer than expected for both our drinks and food, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the restaurant was quite noisy. It’s understandable that it was busy, but the noise level made it hard to have a proper conversation. Overall, if you’re looking for amazing food and don’t mind a bit of a wait or a lively atmosphere, Vaghaar is definitely worth a visit!

Nice food good service and taste

The portions are very small for the price We ordered vegan kofta curry and received only two koftas and the rest was just sauce.

The food was really good, we were a large party on a Sunday evening. The staff were attentive thanks to Suchi and Pratap were fantastic catering for the various tastes! Starters were very filling and flavourful.

We came as group of 4 but our table seemed small, asked for bigger table after sitting down and this was well arranged by the waiters. The food is a change to the usual Indian. Try Puran Puri it’s delicious with Ringa Bata shak.

Teaste is awesome as well as staff service is well.

We went to celebrate my mum birthday and it was our first time here. We ordered a variety of dishes and they all had a unique flavor. This place is a little gem on the high street and would recommend it to anyone. Service was exceptional and we will be heading back there soon. Smashing service by Pratap!

Very disappointed! Ordered basic food, Batata nu Shaak, and it had no taste at all. Even had to ask them for more salt as it hardly had any. Most of the Batata was mash in little pieces..

Went here for dinner on Sunday evening It was unbearably noisy with too many large parties. I would not recommend the Dal Makhani. It was nothing like the creamy dal makhani you normally get. Paneer bhurji was good but all the food qas swimming in oil. Lasanya batata was nothing like it's name! It was just regular potato curry. And masala chips had way too much pepper. We also asked about Malai Kofta and were told it only contained 2 koftas! How ridiculous is that when they are charging £10 for the dish! Really expensive for what it was. Service charge added on with no discretion. Service was slow and staff could not cope.

We had recently visited for dinner and order some stuff but the curries were okay but butter Naan were not properly baked and we asked one staff to baked properly but same quality was delivered again. Apart from this we had order Mango lassi and it was hot instead of cold. @Hr Manager was behaving like an Owner, lady who wear black Blazer and short highted. Don't recommend anyone for wasting their time and Money.

Worst experience ever I had I ordered takeaway food and call restaurant for order and waiter say take 20 minutes for collect I went to restaurant after 20 minutes and they says wait another 20/30 minute your order is not ready yet. Because of the overcrowded atmosphere they also not make food tasty this was first and last time we been there. Never going back.

A perfect evening birthday dinner. A must visit place for all desis. Nice balanced ambience, excellent service ( Usually the good desi restaurants miss this part, Vaghaar was definitely exception in this. The staff was extremely polite, well-behaved, responsive and supportive.), great food and reasonably priced as well. Rare to find the balance of all the aspecs of good restaurant , and I am glad to say that Vaghhar is one of them. Will visit for my all special occasions and more..

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant.The food was absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our food server Pratap was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal.

The service was very slow. My wife ordered a takeaway - Vegetable Paratha. However, there was a vast difference in the menu price for the Paratha's. The staff were pushing the combo deal, which was a vegetable Paratha and curd priced at around £9.00. However, my wife mentioned that she did not want the curd, only the Vegetable Paratha. The staff member insisted that it is only available as a combo deal, and it would still be £9.00 whether she had the curd or not. My wife challenged the staff member and stated that on the menu, the plain and stuffed paratha's were cheaper at around £3.99 than the combo deal and how they could justify charging £9.00 for the combo? Does this mean that they were charging £5.00 for the curd only ?Even if she ordered separately, the plain or stuffed paratha with curd that it would be cheaper than the combo. She also mentioned that the preparation for the vegetable paratha was already done, so why is it not possible just to order a vegetable paratha? The staff member was inflexible and did not want to provide any form of customer service and maintained that it is only available on the combo. It was an embarrassing situation with other diners listening to the conversation. I am very surprised that the staff did not try to help with the customers' requirements. Does this mean if a customer came with special dietary requirements, they would not be accommodated?

Excellent service from the entire team at Vaghar for making my family dine experience a fantastic one. Rishi Raj and the his team were awesome in their service. Xcellent choice of foods , fast attentive service and all the foods we ordered were extremely tasty and delicious home made style cooked freshly and served with a smile. Would highly recommend this Resturant for vegetarians 🥗. Most amazing Xperience. The Resturant was packed out which shows how popular it is with customers. We came back as the veggie foods was just out of this planet and had a home cooked taste. Most amazing. My family had an awesome time here. Still highly recommend this place to all. You will not be disappointed!

Pratap was fantastic. A true asset to your dining team. He ensure everyone looked after us and the jain food was kept separate from all the normal food. Definitly a must visit

Average taste. Ordered daal baati and shev tomato with bhakri / rotlo. I was disappointed with the size and taste of rotlo, it was literally cookie size and oven baked ☹️ where as Indian rotlo is prepared with Jowar/bajra flour and baked directly on flames. When checked with the staff they explained that this is how it’s made in Rajasthan which I don’t think it is. (I am from India and I know how Rajasthani food is) . Also tried Dahi bhalla , which was okay. It’s too expensive for the taste. After checking reviews and the menu I went there with very high expectations but was not happy with what I received. Although loved their presentation but could have focused on the quality and taste of food rather than on arrangements and the show. They served ghee , jaggery, onion, garlic chutney which was unnecessary . And the baati quantity was small size and less for the daal which doubled for one person . It was not enough. Service was slow and staff didn’t seem proactive. That’s why I gave 2~3 stars. Taste is Not worth for the money. I am hoping they would improve in the future as the location is convenient.

Tried so many times, all the time daal baati shout out 🔥. Rockstar is come back to the vaghaar after so long time, that we are looking for him. Because he is not just taking the order, as like before we remembered all the time He is giving suggestions for food 🥗. From long time we observed no one is asking about customers taste, only these guy ask to everyone before taking the order. So, he will take correct food order from the customer and get fame and happiness from us 😊. Very fast, sharp and having good & positive attitude. Good atmosphere, but feels little bit noisy. Quick service with nice presentation of food. Tried Masala khichiya papad, It was also recommended by him and we loved 🥰 it. We were so full, but with his skills (up selling) he suggested later to have Sp. vaghareli khichdi with rajathani kadhi. We thought we were not finishing the food but due to the mouth watering taste we finished it. Thanks Rockstar and see you very soon 😍.

Charging £25.99 for a single dinner! And they don’t even serve à la carte for 3 days in a row - that’s why their restaurant was empty compared to other places which were very full. Just because of this ridiculous price decision, I won’t be returning.

Excellent food, both quality and quantity. We loved the Gobi 65 and the Dry Paneer in particular. I loved the salted buttermilk too and had 2 of these, after finishing off with a masala soda! Was very full and satisfied and would go back again - I've already highly recommended this place to friends. It's not a surprise it's always busy :)

Worst hot & sour soup tasted in my life.It tastes like they make that from knorr soupy noodles soup packet.They don't make their product they serve readymade soup to customers.

We had veg crispy and daal baati, and it was well prepared and amazingly tasty. We wanted to try more but full in 2 dishes as quantity is quite generous. Had such a good food after long time. Waiting to try some more items from the menu next time.

Amazing Indian Food. Just as good as in India. And the Swaminarayan Menu is huge and tasty at the same time. Many restaurants serve this type of food but is bland or not as tasty but Vaghaar made me say WOW!!

Very poor service, they waited on several tables so arrived before we did and got their drinks too, we were visibly waiting and we both had our phones out. Worst was 10 minutes after a large group entered they played loud music so you had to shout to speak to the person opposite, don't they know music is supposed to be in the background, it's a restaurant not a night club The food is nothing special, more of a let down. The chole with massive chunks of pepper and onions isn't very north Indian, and parts of the puri was raw.

Very slow staff to begin with, they served people who arrived after us first and kept roaming around. Food looked presentable but tasted average. Chole bhature had red and green peppers and tasted more like jalfrezi. Was very excited to order puranpoli but it tasted like frozen ones. Bhature were doughy and undercooked. Masala lemonade was too sour. I wouldn’t visit again as it’s not worth the money and poor service.

I was looking for the Indian Kathiyavadi and Punjabi food Place Then I Found this place after that we decided to Vist this place and I was There and see the first time the Name of Restaurant why is Vaghaar but they Disrcibe perfectly and I was see there full meaning and I was surprised and there is male and female staff which they always serving with smile 😊 and Proving the food hot on perfect time bcz I told first staters and then main course that same Pratap provide us so who looking for Best Food in Kenton Harrow . I Strongly Recommend this place .

I recently visited vaghaar on kenton Road and, unfortunately, found the service to be quite very slow and was possibly due to it being fully booked out. Despite the restaurant being busy, food was served in individual dishes rather than all came out together, so the wait was longer. Which affected the overall dining experience. The food was great and very delicious, but the slow service made is less enjoyable. Would like to go back when this is sorted.

Food prepared early, not good , not going again And not cheap

This is a must visit place for indian food. The staff here is super nice and friendly. The company has changed their staff so don’t believe the reviews of bad service, it was in the past. Must try: ringan no oro, lasaniya bataka, Sev tameta and Roti 🫓

The service was very formal but friendly. The restaurant was quite noisy, the music was loud. I had two dishes, the surti undhiyu and vegan kolhapuri. They were ok. Not mind blowing but freshly prepared. A big too oily and could have slightly more salt to bring out the other flavours. Also the portion sizes of the main gravy dishes are ridiculously small compared to their very high price. With these prices the portions should be shareable size but they are not. However, I do recommend this restaurant. It is relatively very good.

Pratap was great; he did an extraordinary job making sure we were at ease. He ensured we felt welcome. I would definitely recommend going to Vaghaar anyone wanting authentic Indian food.

Thank you pratap and yesha, I went 5 times and all time great authentic pure taste i experience.I had an amazing experience at Vaghar! The authentic Gujarati flavors were spot-on, especially the punjabi and the richly spiced Dal-baati, vagharelo rotlo & many more. The traditional Gujarati Thali was a highlight, offering a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy dishes. The warm ambiance and attentive service made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend Vaghar for a true taste of Gujarat!

I also ate dal bati. Bati is not good. It's not cooked properly and the size was too small. I ate dal bati in many places and i know the size. This one is really the worst.

(Worst) I came from Birmingham to London...to just eat Daal Baati with my friends and I had the Worst Experience at Vaghaar As I want to share my Experience to everyone. We ordered Dal Baati , 2 naan and Paneer Butter masala. I don't know exactly what was the issue but what I observed , As they were in hurry to close the restaurant. They severed Daal big Bowl so at least 2 person can eat easily....and 4 baati which looks less than size of one onion Baji. I don't know what's the combination of huge daal and very very small size Baatis even the baati was totally raw...not at all cooked properly. Make sure of all these things after visiting the above restaurant.

This place is AMAZING! I am scoring it a 10/10! Every single thing I ordered I LOVED! My only issue was - I wanted to eat more but I simply could not !! Damn … Even without non veg - simply brilliant fresh food out of this world … portion sizes so generous too! I hope it never changes ! Only wish they were closer to where we live! Return visits 100%! Thank you to the lovely staff too and management who was quick to include his staff as part of a great experience… LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY FOOD !!! Knocks every other restaurant out of the hemisphere ;))))))

We have visited resturant travelled all the way from Leicester as heard about lot but disappointed with services and foods we ordered crispy Bhindi and other starter . BHINDI WAS OVER SALTED Similarly main got Dal bati and paneer paratha. Paneer paratha was over salted. Both occassion we mention but they said this is our standard receipt and deny to change. And other foods are OK salt vise. Really over hyped resturant. There are .any good option in London then Vagaar.
