Ordered 2 chicken Biryani and 1 kappa biryani today. The chicken biryani was ok but the kappa biryani was very bad and had a nasty smell. It is salty and not even had a piece of beef in it. It is the worst food that I had ever had. Just tell your chef to learn how to make food. The whole food was thrown in the bin. I contacted the restaurant and they told they will call me back. I waited for their call before posting the review but now they are not even picking up my call. Completely bad behaviour from a Kerala restaurant. This is unacceptable.

My kizhi porotta order arrived cold and wrapped in aluminum foil. Despite requesting a resolution, the establishment failed to address the issue, citing busyness as the reason for the subpar service and questionable food hygiene. This response was unsatisfactory and demonstrated a lack of customer service.

The food quality was disappointing and did not meet expectations. Additionally, the staff's behavior was not customer-friendly. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I ordered a chicken biriyani and beef biriyani,but pieces was not too much only one or two pices were there

The food here is absolutely amazing! We tried different types of dishes, and everything was incredibly tasty and well-prepared. The staff were friendly and provided great service. However, the toilet was a big disappointment—poorly maintained, not very clean, and the door wouldn’t even close properly. If we had seen the toilet first, it might have put us off. Definitely worth visiting for the food, but the hygiene in the facilities needs serious improvement.

It felt greasy and not as flavorful as I expected. The Kerala porota was also a letdown—it was very hard and tough to eat, not at all the soft, flaky texture I was hoping for. It didn’t match the usual standard you’d find in other places. Overall, I was not impressed with the food, and I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration and improves the quality.

Ordered Lamb Roast and there was hardly any meat all full of bones 😬 Chicken 65 full of batter and double fried 😣 Fish dish was OK. Staff were very friendly. Won't return here, and will discourage anyone from eating here - worst place I've eaten in Leicester.

Worst food , ordered paratha, fish moli , chicken 65 thru uber eats, dishes were utter waste, not at all tasty, half of of the food went into the bin,Also paratha which was served was sure for frozen one, not freshly cooked, Rang the hotel to inform about the paratha, the lady staff says paratha they serve is always freshly made , not frozen, however the food which we received was not freshly baked, she also said if u r not satisfied with paratha, next time go for Appam, Would not recommend food from here to anyone

Worst restaurant. Had a take away on new year. While eating home within 5 minutes of packing, the biryani looked like a left over rice with chicken pieces. No flavour no quality and my chilli chicken tasted awful, it's just chicken pieces in tomato sauce. Worst restaurant. I don't even accept the food for free

The lamb and chicken biryani was spectacular!! Good portion size and authentic flavor. The second time I tried the porotta, idiyappam and beef roast. It was great as well.

It’s a decent place. Food here is alright sometimes it’s great sometimes it’s just okay. Service is good and the ambience and atmosphere is the worst part.

I was somewhat disappointed with today's meals, as they did not meet my expectations and previous experiences. The long wait was challenging, especially since we were looking forward to reliving our fond memories of Kerala cuisine. We hope to see improvements during our future visits.

I ordered a lamb biryani today through uber eats took 1 hr for delivery and it was like rice mixed with lamb curry and had excess oil couldnt eat it.

We went by the reviews of this restaurant and to our surprise were totally disappointed Ordered fried rice which was filled with cabbage and totally below restaurant standards ordered Beef roast which was ok however the quantity does not reflect the price and way too little parottas were fine overall does not live to my expectation of the reviews that reflect for this restaurant

Worst experience. The quality of food and service is really bad. I couldn't even finish the chicken biriyani. Asked for a glass of water , she gave me a plastic disposable glass for hot water. The hand wash area looks dirty and smelly.

I ordered biryani and lime juice for myself and my friends. While the lime juice was amazing, the biryani was a huge disappointment. It was full of oil, like it had been soaked in it, and the spices weren’t mixed properly. Unfortunately, it upset all of our stomachs. I strongly recommend reducing the oil content to avoid potential health issues for customers

I've visited this hotel multiple times and have always enjoyed the food. The beef fry/roast and Kerala porota are excellent. The portion sizes are decent as well as the price. The service has consistently been good. Parking can occasionally be a bit challenging.

I've been ordering from Ustad Hotel via Uber eats several times now, and it's quickly becoming one of my absolute favourites. My regular order is their fish curry, which is simply to die for. The fiery red and tangy flavors are perfectly balanced, making each bite an explosion of taste. The kappa they serve alongside is the perfect accompaniment, complementing the curry beautifully. The consistency in quality and the rich, authentic flavors have me coming back for more. I can't wait to explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!

We been there last/every week..and the food was so disappointing especially the chiken biriyani..better we boil some chicken and rice at home..they always have the same excuse as the shef just got changed... thinking every time they got new customers.. all-over the food is so horrific ..we hope the management might understand the value of food and customer service...this is not a negative comment but.. we hope they keep the standard...

Although the entrance is small and somewhat hard to find, the spacious seating area occupying the entire basement is a pleasant surprise. The food is tasty, and the service meets expectations. My only critique is the portion size; when we ordered the fish curry, the fish portion was smaller than expected, and it would have been better if it included at least two pieces.

Worst service ever. I would have put 0 stars if possible. Had to wait 1hr 20 min for lunch on a Saturday because the staff forgot we ordered food. For mandhi, they said they can give extra rice if needed and never told it came with a price of 4 pound until I got the bill. Have some integrity guys. This kind of service is not going to take you anywhere.

Today I visited with my family, overall I've got a positive feedback. Even though at the weekends it is a bit rush, and it's worth waiting there food. The staffs really managed the crowd and treated equally. Especially that guy and ladies at the front. They even recommended food according to my taste and my whole family loved it. I went with friends and it was very delightful. The mandi was delicious with flavourful rice, chicken curry was delicious and a coconut based vegetarian curry was also perfect. We got the lamb biryani which was fine ( it is rare to find lamb cooked well when eating a biryani). Also, I was very surprised when we got the bill which was a lot less than I expected. Drawbacks were that it was very warm inside and that I had to carry my pram down the stairs

Tasty Kerala dishes. Ordered several dishes and all are delicious and come with good quantity. Price are very affordable for all foods that ordered. Atmosphere is good as this restaurant is in basement and some issues with mouldy smell from carpet due to rain water. But they are maintaining well to clear it. Very friendly and hardworking staff.

Yesterday I visited with my family for dinner.The food and service was so good with proper attention and the guy recommended me the beef items and fish polichath, it was a good visit. The avocado and strawberry milk shake was so good. I want to visit in the future and will definitely recommend my friends and family.

Disappointing I recently dined at this restaurant and ordered the beef curry, which turned out to be a major disappointment. The dish was filled with bones, making it difficult and unpleasant to eat. Instead of tender, flavorful beef, I encountered poor-quality meat that was tough and lacking in taste. This, combined with the excessive bones, left me feeling frustrated and unsatisfied, even others dishes which we have ordered also. Overall, the quality of the food was far below expectations. I recently visited Ustad Hotel in Leicester and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Despite the promising menu, our order was messed up right from the start. We ordered kizhiporotta, porotta, noolputtu, and mint lime, but instead of idiyappam, we were served appam. Replacing it took an eternity, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The service was incredibly slow, and the waitress seemed disinterested in her work. To add insult to injury, the mint lime was served warm, and when we requested ice, we were told they didn't have any. Overall, it was a frustrating and unsatisfactory dining experience.Also, there was a foul smell in the dining area.

This lack of basic amenities is unacceptable, especially for a regular customer like myself. Overall, this visit to Ustaad Hotel Leicester was a regrettable experience, and I will hesitate to return or recommend it to others in the future.

I had a recent visit to ustad hotel with my family. It was really very very bad experience. Only the lady staff who had good customer service. And the two guys especially the guy who sitting in the billing area he is so rude and I waited for my bill for a long time and he is showing off. Don't go with kids. This hotel is not for kids friendly.

Staff are all really nice. However food was below average, no real taste. Decent portions. And it took circa 45mins to 1hr to come. Won't be returning again sadly.

I had ordered food from just eat at 9 pm from this hotel..after an hour without ant updates I called the restaurant and they said it will be ready soon, I called again at 10:15 they said they have sent it already.. just eat app showed throughout that food was not ready.Ultimately the hotel lied and the food never arrived! Recently I had revisited the place for dinner and the food was even better, I was with my friends and tried different dishes which was realy good and we liked the chicken biriyani! The staffs were really good as well recommending their special dishes. Will revisit soon.

The food was average (for me): I tried the Beef biriyani and my wife tried Fish Biriyani, we both did not like it. The beef roast and porotta combo was impeccable, really liked it. Tea was just good. The customer Service: Off the 3 people served us, the 2 lady staff was very polite and caring. But the guy who served us right from taking orders till issuing the food receipt has the worst customer service ever with complete unprofessional attitude. He was constantly asking personal questions including visa status and all!!! After we finished the food, we were expecting the bill to be served to our table (almost all restaurants does that) We went to the till and waited for the bill almost 10 minutes!! This included him to talking in his mobile to his friend (i guess) offering discount and stuff. Suddenly after that he left the counter while i was 'still' waiting there with my wife. he went inside the kitchen and came back but did not even bothered to come and issue our bill also, he went to other customers and just spent some time there even though other staff was there to take orders. Then he came back again to the till and spent around 3 minutes in the computer and finally issued the bill and again went to a different conversation of card and cash payment (i don't even want to mention it here, it was were i made my mind i am not visiting that restaurant again) which took another 5 minutes. I am frustrated about all those was because we drove around 1 hour 30 minutes surviving hard evening traffic and just because our time was wasted there, i could not catch the movie booked for that at the correct time (missed first 20 minutes of the movie) I have been here 1 time before and i had very similar experience of waiting 1 hour to get the food that day. But they promised the next time when I come, we would make up for that. Believing that, we planned our EID lunch at this restaurant and I must say my complete day just got SPOILED because of the customer service and food also was not up to the mark. I am really sorry to say I will not be visiting that restaurant ever again!!!

I had a really bad experience from here. It took ages from them to deliver food to the table. Because of that I missed my train. Even if the food is nice or not, when the service is not upto it then no use. Anyway I’m not gonna visit this place again.
