Al hospedarme en el hotel por un par de noches tuve una experiencia de primera mano en el desayuno y la cena aquí. Debo decir, sin embargo, a diferencia del hotel, no estuvo a la altura de mis expectativas. Había un grupo bastante grande para la cena y no estaba tan ocupado. Estaban fuera de stock de algunos artículos, lo cual es inevitable, supongo, pero no hay ningún intento de tratar de solucionarlo o una disculpa. Yo mismo y algunos otros comimos una hamburguesa y papas fritas, que no fue la más difícil de sacar y fue, de lejos, la peor hamburguesa que comí, la carne era muy gomosa y recocida y no era lo que esperaría de un restaurante como este. No me preocupé por quedarme allí con un grupo de trabajo durante unos días y esperaba que el desayuno lo compensara. El desayuno en sí estaba bien, había problemas de stock nuevamente (o simplemente el hecho de que no habían cocinado lo suficiente) a pesar de ser razonablemente silencioso. La comida era bastante normal. En lo que respecta al servicio, que era bastante normal también, entre esperar en el bar durante bastante tiempo, y en cuanto a la comida estaba claro que no tenían suficiente personal, especialmente porque el mismo personal dirigía el restaurante y servía detrás del bar. . En general, el lugar se ve bien, pero no esperes una buena comida o servicio a los precios que cobran, recomendaría comer en otro lugar en el centro de la ciudad.

Muy bien decorado, bar / restaurante / sala de desayunos mixtos con una buena opción tanto para la cena como para el desayuno.

No había estado en este restaurante desde que abrió por primera vez, pero definitivamente no esperaré tanto esta vez. El restaurante es realmente agradable, se puede ver que han gastado algo de dinero en una hermosa zona de asientos. Lo mejor fue la comida, felicitaciones al chef! Tuve la terrina para comenzar y cordero para main, los cuales fueron perfectos 10/10. Esta visita fue con mi familia y ya he reservado para volver con mi pareja.

I have never been to this restaurant despite living locally, i have tried most of what Cardiff has to offer so it was time for something new. It looks like a lot of money has been spent on the bar and restaurant and the results are stunning. The important bit, the food, this was probably the best meal I've had in some time. We sampled a few different starters between myself and family and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly, especially the terrine and squid.The main was divine, perfectly cooked steak, real chips, what more do you want? 10/10, if i could I would give more.

Tired, I didn't want to go out for diner, and I had a good experience yesterday in my previous hotel. Then I ordered a common dish : double burger with fries. At the end, too long waiting time with only 15 people in the dining room, cooks throwing the food away (open kitchen), burgers overcooked (normal stayed long minutes under the heating lamp), ... You will find much better on the streets of Cardiff. I do not recommend it.

Had a meal here as part of a package deal with the Mercure hotel it's in. Good food, especially the soup, lovely quiet atmosphere and really appreciated the great service from Luis and team. Thanks!

A really good dining area with a simple but attractive seating are for a quiet drink before dining. Nice to be up high and overlook the city. The head waiter had clearly been informed of my wife's allergies of being gluten and lacto intolerant. He told us he had discussed their menu with the chefs and could offer various amendments to sauces etc. Fantastic service and thus made our dining experience that much better. Great food and wines to make a most enjoyable evening

First class food and service. Buffet lunch had an amazing choice of hot and cold meals. Favourite was the prawns which were perfectly cooked and succulent. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

Just back from an excellent lunch at the Mercure Holland House Urban Bar. The food and service was first rate with the chef agreeing to make my wife a special dish. I have used the hotel many times before and often call in when visiting Cardiff as the bar is a lovely space to spend a few hours. I have also hosted business clients as the bar area is spacious to allow for privacy if required.

The prices are so high ( dbl Kraken rum 10.5) . Staff haven't got knowledge about spirits. Coffee serve from dirty coffeemachine and grinder. Lights and temperature was good.

While the menu looks like it offers standard classics, the food is made in such a way that it transforms what could seem like run-of-the-mill bistro food into beautifully presented and genuinely tasty meals. Staff here are all too happy to help if you have allergies/dietary requirements, which is impressive.

We have difficulty dining out due to a very restricted diet due to serious illness. We were attending the hotel for a weekend function and emailed ahead with a list of foods we were allowed. The lovely sous chef Raoul emailed us a menu specially put together from the foods we were allowed. A 3 course prix-fix menu so very good value. It absolutely delighted us, so enjoyable not having to worry what was in what we were eating and all plated and served so beautifully it would not have looked out of place in a Michelin Star restaurant. So upset that my phone doesn't seem to have saved the lovely photos. There was a delicious sauce and flavours balanced. The best meal we have had out since having to start following this SCD eating style 5 years ago. Thank you soooo much, this made our weekend. Waiters were so helpful and attentive too. If we come to Cardiff again we will be back.

I enjoyed a glass of wine during the late afternoon and relaxed in what was to become a brand new peaceful and tastefully decorated bar and restaurant. The server was excited to tell me of the proposed changes coming to the hotel in early fall. Based on my stay there and the food and service afforded me at breakfast that day, I would be confident in stating this new restaurant will be a huge success.
