Upperthorpe Fish Bar in Sheffield

Usually the pizza and garlic bread is amazing from here but today it was flat as a pancake, doughy and very overly greasy. The rest of the food and the delivery driver was great though. Will order again as hoping it's a one off.

The experience was good; The staff namely Ali has been so kind. He confirmed the food being served is completely Halal. We highly recommend visiting their restaurant if you are visiting Sheffield.

The fish was amazing and very flavoursome.

Do not be stung like I was. Regular cod is sardine sized. If I wanted a mini fish special, I'd have ordered that instead. Batter is very anemic and retains much of the oil, unpleasant. Chips were the only good bit. Can't argue with the curry sauce.

Amazing food would highly recommend to anyone

I went to the “fish and chips” category and selected 2 large cods. Apparently that means no chips so I was left with 2 fish. I then phoned up and the man on the phone was extremely rude by not even letting me finish my sentence to say that no chips came. This is clearly a common call so he just started saying “you order 2 cod, 2 gravy”. So I ordered 2 portions of chips after this along with £4 delivery = £12. So, maybe just make it clear that ordering fish & chips does not include chips

Had a few things ,the cod roe was so overcooked and thin it was like a crisp , the chicken kebab was ok but small ,chips were very dry and the tomato garlic bread came with cheese on, which I didn't want . All in all not good .

The meal as always came before the allotted time, this time though after many many meals with this Delivery Restaurant, it was really disappointing, I know things cannot always be right but was really put off, sorry , but their we are !!

The chips were cold n refried and fish was way too oily. This was my second order as I was very happy for the first time. This shows that they are not consistent in their food quality

Wasn't the best tonight, and we go a lot. Chips didn't seem cooked properly. They were fresh and hot but undercooked for the first time. Won't stop us going!

Can't help but feel like I'm always ripped off when I go here. What I pay is never the price on the board, I'm always given "extra chips" but what I get is never enough so I dread to think what a normal amount of chips is from here. The guy that works there is always smiles but then adds 20p more onto the card machine than what he told me or substitutes a large fish to 2 small fishes and "charges me the same" even though I'm not sure that benefits me. Won't be going again, which is a shame because if they were just honest and decent about things I wouldn't have to many complaints other than their prices being a bit high.

Chips were greasy, some were undercooked, and they didn’t taste as good as usual. Fish and rissoles were great as always. But the chips need changing if we’re to keep this as our regular!

Ordered 2 large Cod and chips One Cod was perfect the other overcooked Chips were dry crispy and delicious I contacted the shop and I was greeted with nothing but pleasantness, the gentleman couldn’t apologise enough, a refund was immediately offered plus a discount on next order What a lovely genuine gesture much appreciated Thank you so much Oh and Thankyou to the lovely delivery man so pleasant and polite

£8.60 for this (fish, chips & small beans) sorry but it's far too expensive. Nearly £10 for 1 person 😐 I definitely won't be eating here again. The food wasn't hot and most of the chips was crispy. I wish I'd gone elsewhere, such a waste of money.

Ordered on ubereats for a few people at work, arrived on time which was good and order was all correct so no complaints there, we ordered a mix of things, fish, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, gravy, sausage, saveloy, chip butty & chicken and mushroom pie. Chips were quite soggy on arrival which wasn’t great, they tasted pretty average too although food was hot, a colleague had to throw their mushy peas in the bin though as they were so watery and they said fish was a bit greasy. I ordered the pie and gravy, pukka pie wasn’t bad but gravy could have been better, it had not been mixed correctly as there were all lumps in it. Also don’t understand why on ubereats the fish special comes with a choice of sauce e.g. peas, gravy, curry but the pie special and sausage special come with literal sauce as an option e.g. tomato ketchup so you have to pay extra for gravy. Overall pretty average.

Worst fish and chips we've tasted in Sheffield. Fish batter soggy inside chips half cooked. Food ended up in fish and chip bag it came in and then in bin.

Ordered previously on Just Eat leaving me happy overall. Decided to order direct this time to be left somewhat disappointed. Food should have arrived around 12:40 after phoning at 12:56 (16min after delivery time.) Was advised that it would arrive in 2min at 13:08 food finally arrived 28min later than scheduled. Place your order through Just eat or other just not direct as the service is slow. Food was all there which was good. Chips were warm, fish hot peas could have been better as was quite watery and not much flavour. On this occassion not the best yet would order again.

First time I’ve ordered from them and very happy. Far better than a previous chip shop I had ordered from and will be ordering again as food was quality.

Put an order in waited nearly an hour past delivery time to call and ask where our order was to be told it was on its way. Not even 1 minute later received a txt message saying order cancelled and refund issued. Absolutely disgusting why take orders if you can't fill them, wont bother in future, but reading other reviews seems we had a lucky escape with people saying poor quality of food.

Me and my friends came for lunch. We got a take out. The man serving us was FANTASTIC, he was lovely and so was the food. We felt welcomed and will return. The curry sauce was to die for - all the sauces are made onsite! If we could give it 10 stars, we would.

The cheese was gone off on my chips and cheese tasted like feet the pie was undercooked and the crust in the pie wasn't cooked fully the sausage was ok I cant complain about that

By far, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The guy with the turkey teeth was seriously acting like a psychopath…I didn’t know asking for a medium fish instead of a small could anger someone so much. Kept asking me if I’ve read the menu then shouting and pointing….didn’t even get a chance to order and I’m glad I didn’t. No surprise the shop was empty!

Order placed 3 hours ago, no updates on the app or the decency to ring and let me know it would be late. I had to ring myself and was told my order was on the way only for it to be cancelled 10 minutes after. I’m starving and £12 short. It’s an abomination. Thanks kids are crying now.

Everything was excessively greasy. It all tasted wierd the batter was inedible. All went in bin even cats turned their nose up at the fish. Also don't see why you would offer to deliver when so far away, I should have used Google maps to check the distance. Lesson learnt never again

Half cut sausage is not a small sausage not for 1.10 anyway ...shocked me that, also chips not bad although bit too brown so not fresh, i asked for no salt, not no viniger but thank you, I've also a mince an onion pie when I asked for meat and potato, since there wasnt an option for All Stake. Safe to say I'll not try this one again in a hurry

Food from here is always excellent and delivered quickly however this time I was let down by the pancake roll being replaced by extra sausages. Would be fine if I wasn't a vegetarian and so unable to eat them - at least my dog (and girlfriend) are happy!
