Upper 5th in Hackney

Wasn't sure at first as considerably quiet for a London rooftop last week however, we got over that pretty quickly, settling into a great sofa area all to ourselves with unobstructed views and the staff could not have been friendlier! So much so, having obliviously left the bar some hours later, a lovely young barman chased me out of the building to return my (new Mulberry) sunglasses! Can't comment on food however, having already been at Jin Bo Law (not remarkably welcoming!) i can confirm the prices are totally reasonable for London. Hidden gem? I think so & would definitely recommend. Ps Big thank you to all the staff for putting up with us and our matching dresses and for changing the music! x

Looking forward to a visit to the Upper 5th, on arrival we were eventually shown to our 'reserved' seating area, drinks were ordered and after a 30 minute wait part of the order arrived after a further 15 minutes wait we were still waiting for the rest of the parties drinks , needless to say we cancelled the remaining order and left. Certainly not a good experience and will not be returning

Very rude staff and poor quality of food! One member of the staff (a girl with long black hair) gave a horrible attitude to us! We kindly asked if we could be seated somewhere else, and she asked us to leave the place if we did not like the table where we were seated!

Definitely not worth it!! We were sat in a corner with very little view (although we were able to watch the football). The venue lacked finesse the prices charged were extortionate for what it was and we definitely expected more. The staff weren't dressed very well although the customer service from Chris was very good. The food was mediocre, no quality and lacked flavour. Wouldn't return at all!

Absolutely Horrible. Looks and feels like the idea for a ‘Rooftop Bar’ came out of nowhere and they went ahead with zero knowledge on how to execute it. Great space but unfortunately shabby furniture and atmosphere, staff have no idea what they are doing, we were asked 5 times if we had set up a tab, undrinkable wine, everything is served in what looks like tea-stained plastic scratched glasses. Food in a cardboard box and that was just as bad. Tasteless and unseasoned cheap food. On the way out saw the chef take out a pre-made supermarket style pizza and was cutting off the plastic packaging to cook. Will never ever go again. And the fact it was a business meet up made it more embarrassing.
