Uni Takeaway in Glasgow City

Had my first fried Mars bar here. You never forget your first. Also great staff!

I have gone to this takeaway four times in April and May this year. On three occasions, it has been shut, although the opening times at the door shows it is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It looks like the business is trying to go out of business! One of the basics of business is to make sure you open the doors. Don't go without finding if it's open. It's a shame, as their foods are really good.

Twice recently I tried to go in for a special supper. Once was a Wednesday at around 7:00 pm. The place was shut, despite showing that it was open from Wed to Sat. The second time was tonight Saturday and again it was shut! Are they going out of business or what? They certainly will if they continue like this.

Worst fish supper ever. Batter on fish all broke up couldn’t even lift the fish to eat it as it just fell to bits

Amazing takeaway with great service

We got a curry at the little curry house and got some desserts while walking up the road from the uni cafe. Lovely homemade ice cream in a funky environment.

Phenomenal. Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Could have eaten it all again! 👌🏻

Food was cold when arrived. The ribs where also under cooked and not very nice. Hong Kong chicken did not have much chicken, more like a soggy batter. Salt and pepper chips where overly salty and covered in to much dry rub. Would never order from here again.

By far the best Chinese food around right now Everything from the spicy chicken wings to the salt n pepper was awesome. Highly recommended & I’m very Fussy!!

Salt and pepper King Prawn + chow mein. Order this regularly. Really tasty and good portion. Also comes in sustainable packaging.

They forgot my fried rice, but they bent over backwards to deliver it to me and we're so nice and apologetic. The food was amazing, in particular the sweet and sour Hong Kong and the fried pork dumplings. Always a great takeaway!

The food was extremely late. When I called the restaurant, a voicemail answered claiming it was closed. Subsequent calls were the same. The customer service from Just Eat was unable to solve anything and when the food did arrive it was subpar and the chip especially were inedible.

Didn't receive the drink in my order

Very bland , tasteless Kung Po beef with very little sauce.

Food was brilliant. Salt and chilli chicken is the best in the area. Chicken noodle soup would be better if it was thin noodles.

Disappointed. The food tastes lovely. I’ve bought from this place before but I normally order, wait and collect straight away. Always loved their food. Still do. I’m reviewing this as a delivery takeaway (that’s what I just had). The food was late. Not too annoyed about that but it was also cold. Nothing was hot. I had rewok the chow mien myself. The started were cold. Just a shame really. I hope they can sort out better delivery because their food is nice. But eating cold just isn’t what you want from a takeaway is it...

Meat in chicken curry was terrible, I was unable to eat it even though the sauce was nice. Food was hot and rice okay. Chips slightly undercooked. Delivery time was excellent.

Fui a la cafetería de la universidad para tomar un helado con mi hija y mi nieto, olí las papas fritas de la próxima comida para llevar de dior uni, no pude resistir una porción de pescado y papas fritas cuando vi los excelentes precios debido a que covid toda la comida se hizo a pedido en el lugar qué delicia fue y el personal fue encantador, he recomendado este lugar a amigos ahora y volveré pronto

Best in the west . If could give 10 stars I would .lovely fish n chips . Followed with there own make ice cream yummy .Great staff very friendly and they care about you and the food they serve us .**********

The worst carry out I have had. 2 of my friends wanted fish and chips . It was a bit late at night but honestly we all said the same. Terrible!!

Love the ice creams from the University Cafe, wrongly assumed the food in the take away next door would be just as good. Soggy undercooked chips, rubbery batter with very little fish inside of it. Smoked sausages are decent, but I guess they don't make them themselves, so can't get them wrong. Friendly staff though.

One of the best chippy’s in the west end with great food and it’s super affordable!

Outstanding! My husband and I ordered the haggis rolls yesterday and holy wow they were amazing! We will be returning again, and again, and again. A tip for anyone who hasn’t been here yet: you can order from here at the University Cafe if you’re looking for a sit-in meal (seating is limited in the actual chip shop). Another tip for anyone who hasn’t been here yet: go now!

Really Good Late but informed Really good delivery driver

The restaurant always has an excuse despite the onvious demands of a Saturday night’s orders.

Wonderful as always. The curry sauce is gold. Cant have enough of it.

Guys. This was disappointing. Pancakes with the duck were all congealed into a big lump . Salt and pepper squid was chewy and over battered and the prawn crackers caked in oil. Not up to your usual standards I'm afraid.

The food was delivered on time and was hot, but it really wasnt up to the usual standard! Salt and chilli chicken is usually fresh and very tasty with fresh coriander but it had none and was very average!

Food was delivered 5 minutes early and was still very hot. Great food and will be ordering from here again.

Consistently incredible food. Would never order Chinese food from anywhere else. Family favourite for many years. Prices slightly higher than before but worth every single penny and more.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls with chips and spring rolls. The chicken balls were very salted and the chips weren't cooked it wasn't worth waiting an hour and 15.

Can't fault the delivery time arrived before the time stated! Very disappointed with the chicken curry ! Less than half the silver tray and barely any chicken in it ! For the price paid would expect a full portion!

The food is delivered on time and it's still warm. The quality is good with a quite big portion. The crispy dumpling and the vegetable are both fresh and tasty. Will definitely order again.

Honey and chilli chicken was very full of honey, prefer it a little more evenly balanced. Rice was cold and the salt and chilli chips were soggy and not very good.

Significantly smaller quantities than they used to be, but higher prices. Food quality still good! Disappointing on portions.

Delicious. Portion sizes are smaller than usual but quality is much better than most.

Order was running 30 minutes late when I called to find out where it was. They said it was en route, but 30 minutes later it had still not yet arrived. Called again and found they had delivered to the wrong flat as they had written the address down wrong. Apologised, bit had to order elsewhere.

Peking chicken wings and salt pepper chips taste very good

Bit expensive relative to the portion size compared to most take- away's. But great quality and Flavours.

Took 1 hour and twenty minutes to deliver food Would not have ordered if advised of this when making order which stated 45 minutes Homewok then added 30mins to delivery time when received confirmation. Then had to phone homewok as even later than that. Will not order again

Chicken was fatty and slimy, would not order again.

Overpriced for the size of the portions, particularly the Salt and Pepper chips, which were also quite soggy.

Good service for making a call for confirming delivery time and the delivery was punctual. BUT the food was cold and tasteless. I really wonder why you got the third place for best takeaway in the Britain...This is the only reason I made the order and the dishes were really disappointing and very, very not authentic Chinese.

Duck was dry, over cooked and tasteless. Chicken teriyaki was lovely, chicken balls were a bit greasy. For £20 I expected more. Usually lovely. Very disappointed will probably not order from here again

Didn't have the main course I wanted so had to reorder and they forgot the dips I ordered.

They had computer problems and I had to ring them when food did not arrive.

Lovely food as always but later than expected and missing rice which was paid for. Obviously could have phoned back but given delivery time decided just to leave it.

Sent me the wrong thing! Only ordered one dish and you gave me noodles instead of rice then didnt answer when i called! I want my money back as i has to order elsewhere!

Had the stir fry three rural veg but didn't enjoy it. I don't think there was anything wrong with it as such, just not my taste. The veg was like super sweet roasted veg with a very sweet sauce, all a bit sloppy and sickly. I would like them to offer a tofu option for vegetarians, but could only see tofu listed with pork.

Hour and 40 mins for delivery of very average food

Very disappointing guys. Chips weren't cooked properly, and therefore had to go in the bin and the delivery driver rang the buzzer (for an extended period of time) even after a written and verbal request not to.

Great food but forgot the lemon sauce for the lemon chicken 😩.

It's always good but tonight was the best it's bern, every dish was great! Salt and Chilli Chicken wings were so crisp, Stir Fry Rural Veg scrumptious and the ribs were to die for! Amazing!!

Poor service over 90 mins for delivery and nothing by way of apology. Food quality not terrible but also not what you would describe as nice.

A real shame, had many good meals from here. But as the old saying goes people never get round to good reviews but always post when its bad. And it was bad. Ordered at 7 20 came at 9.30 . And it was clearly reheated, the crab claws had a odd red sticky sauce on them that looked like it had become dehydrated. Maybe they have a new chef but sadly will not be trying them again. Pity they have some interesting items

The best authentic Chinese takeaway and well worth the prices. The hot and sour soup us everything you want it to be with a good kick. Prawn toast was nice and crunchy, generous portion too, we always end up getting the Choi Sum beef but if you really enjoy savoury things you'll love this, great heat in it too. We'll always come back! Excellent service too!

Whichever chef was on duty for my order needs a Michelin star and an Oscar just for the heck of it. Better than I've ever had there before. deeelicious.

40 minutes late and every bit of it stone cold. Delivered driver said he only got the call 4 minutes before he delivered so food sitting in the restaurant for ages and is now cold and greasy. Garbage. Utter garbage.
