Good food, good prices, poor service

Had lunch today. Times sharer excellent value at £17. Good food and service. Thank you

After walking in with friends, we mentioned we had more friends joining and where seated. When our friends joined bearly 30 seconds later they where screamed at and after trying to explain that we where seated there they swore at us and refused service. We were polite and apologetic but we're told to leave for no good reason, which is horrible because we have been regular for quite some time and time square is one of the only places that has wheelchair accessible and our friends where a little late because of the chair. If you are looking for a decent place to spend with friends care free, look elsewhere. I have seen that there's been a reply to this post by the owner and I stand by what I have said and if anything please don't take just my word for it but look at the most recent reviews before this and you'll see a similar reoccurring problematic pattern shows.

Unfortunately disappointing - not a place to feel good Despite the bad reviews, we wanted to see for ourselves and came with the plan to grab something to eat. Unfortunately, we were disappointed when we ordered the drinks: the service was unfriendly, and when we said that we were still deciding whether we wanted to eat, she became downright rude. When the drinks were served, she took the money straight away - for us it felt like being kicked out. Interestingly, we did not observe this behavior among other guests - apparently people treat guests differently here. When we saw that food was regularly being returned to the kitchen and that charred toast was even being served at neighboring tables, it was clear to us: We're not eating anything here. The cleanliness also left a lot to be desired - the toilets were in desperate need of cleaning, and there were dirty napkins lying around under the tables and in front of the counter. Conclusion: Unfortunately we don't recommend it - neither for the service nor for the hygiene.

Amazing friendly staff, great atmosphere and tasty food

The only good thing is the seating outside. The service is weird, picking the people who are to be served first, who will be treated better. We ordered coffees, the wrong order came out and the person serving got quite defensive when we explained it was a mistake. Coffee tasted awful but that maybe due to quality of water.

Service was poor at best, food was mediocre. Not a very welcoming atmosphere.

Cannot say I sampled the menu as only visited for a few drinks on a Saturday afternoon session. My friends are super fussy, but they loved the vibe and customer service too. Would defo return - keep up the great work

Charged 16 pounds for two wines, one large, one medium. Both so cheap and nasty neither of us finished our drinks, (different types) what an achievement for a pub!. This all in what is a fairly dingy environment! Won't be back

Phoned and booked a table for 9 people no problem. Arrived at the bar to be shown to our table - a small both which would realistically sit 6 adults comfortably. We asked to be moved and were told the pub was full of bookings and this was the only place to sit. We asked for more seats to be told by the rude waitress that she “couldn’t magic chairs out her jacksy”. Our group decided to leave as the customer service was disgraceful. We understand people might be having a bad day but don’t take it out on the customers!

Esta fue una experiencia terriblemente pobre. Yo y un amigo decidimos ir a cenar a este establecimiento. Estábamos sentados y esperamos un tiempo considerable. El bar en el establecimiento nos dijo que era servicio de mesa solamente. Nos dimos cuenta de que el bar era una vergüenza, forrado con gafas sucias, pero un sábado en Glasgow pensamos que nos quedaríamos. Ningún servidor se acercó a nosotros durante al menos 20 minutos, así que preguntamos si las cosas estaban bien y si podíamos pedir bebidas. El servidor llegó y sugirió que nos fuéramos ya que habíamos tenido demasiado para beber. No habíamos bebido nada, pero nos alegramos de irnos después de esta mala actitud y nivel de servicio. Tuvimos una buena comida en otro lugar y definitivamente no volveremos.

Would definitely eat here again we were there 12.30 ish before the cinema so nice and quiet hence the 3star for atmosphere staff were friendly too

had another fab day here always when In city centre come here here so comfortable friendly n good craic which bar staff especially Denise brill defos gotta do the sharing platters but all food fabxxx

Very disappointed with here been here a lot over the years hadn’t been for a few months and me and my friend came in for dinner hungry after been out all day shopping when we came we didn’t get a very warm welcoming from the guy behind the bar we stood at the bar waiting to be served didn’t see that there was a sign at the start of the bar saying no service at that bit but the guy behind the bar told us 2 mins and served other people and left us standing there then my friend said we had been waiting and he’s serving other people and we have been there waiting for him to say no service at that bit which he could have told us instead of telling us 2 mins!! we ordered food and drinks starter and a main and 2 drinks we had been shopping all day so we said we would sit down and then the girl said we would have to go back and get our drinks it was cocktail so we thought we would sit down until they were ready but the guy took the other customers drinks over so why 1 rule for us but then other customer drinks were getting took to the table that was fine didn’t say anything we got our starters which were find our mains i got balmoral chicken I took 2 bits of mash and 1 bit of chicken and the chicken was pink inside it wasn’t off the bacon it was pink blood inside I told one of the girls and she made a face the way i took it she agreed it looked pink we ordered curry sauce with my friends food which was brought out after her food was nearly finished she got refunded for that and the other girl came over asking about my food telling me the other girl said I said I just didn’t like it which I never i told her chicken was pink and I couldn’t eat it it made me feel sick and put me off having anything she wouldn’t refund me saying i ate it which i only had 2 bits of mash and when i seen the middle of the chicken put me right off I was out all day shopping and was looking forward to a nice dinner I got no food and nothing but a horrible cheeky attitude off the girl who basically called me a liar. I work in hospitality and i know what it’s like dealing with difficult customers and we certainly weren’t been difficult I refuse to eat raw chicken the customer service was absolutely awful and the customers next to us said the exact same thing i’ll be phoning first thing in the morning and putting a complaint in I’ve never complained about nothing in my life but the service i got from in here was vile !!!! just adding this in as I also posted a review on their facebook page and it has been deleted and I have been block

Went in here for breakfast - staff very nice and attentive, it's really just the food quality where it severely lacked. We ordered smashed avocado on toast - we're convinced that the ingredients of which were picked up across the road in the Tesco. The bread was maybe in toaster for 2mins, the avocado was flavourless and had the same uniform consistency of ketchup - exactly like the small avocado dip in Tesco, and the eggs didn't taste fully cooked through. My partner ended up leaving hers after a bite - I finished mine as I was starving, but ended up feeling sick for the following few hours. We had coffee too, which was incredibly weak, as if they had reused the grains. Again, staff all very friendly and I'm sure that the pints are grand - but don't go here for food.

A favorite pub of mine for lunch, brunch or a couple of pints; today I ordered 3 breakfasts and after a 40 min wait had to remind the waitress who on checking told me the order hadn’t went through, I asked to cancel the food and was given a refund. However I told the waitress I had paid by card and she subsequently reimbursed another customer for my order but in cash. The pub only had about 12 people in and we were the only ones waiting for food so can’t understand why the order wasn’t tracked better. Also I can only describe the overall demeanour of my waitress as ‘nippy’ This was a hugely disappoint experience and given I had work colleagues telling me of similar experiences at a recent night out in Times Square I doubt I will be back again.

Estuve en este bar por primera vez con mi padre para tomar algo después de ir de compras. El servicio es inexistente, usted permanecerá en el bar durante siglos, incluso cuando el bar está muerto de piedra, viendo al personal del bar hacer todo menos servirle. Jugarán con sus teléfonos, charlarán entre ellos, juguetearán sobre hacer papeleo, CUALQUIER COSA excepto servirle. Nos fuimos después de una copa, no había espíritu navideño en este bar, la mujer que llevaba la camiseta Grinch gruñó cuando le pregunté si alguien estaba sirviendo. Me sorprende que este lugar siga abierto, posiblemente el peor pub en el que he estado durante mucho tiempo. Es muy revelador que murió apedreado el 23 de diciembre a pesar de tener el mercado de Navidad justo fuera. Habíamos dejado Sloans ya que estaba tan ocupado que no podíamos conseguir un asiento dentro, un bar maravilloso, personal amable y acogedor, gran vibra. Salimos de Times Square para ir al Scotia, cálido bar acogedor, tuvimos una gran noche. También me pareció extraño que Times Square no tuviera whisky de malta, la mujer del bar sugirió Glayva en su lugar. No volverá, pub espantoso sin ambiente y un servicio increíblemente pobre.

Absolute disgrace of a pub, the barmaid working last night (the Saturday before Christmas) couldn’t care less about customer service. Her attitude is awful and didn’t see her engage positively with any of the 10 customers while I was in. Instead she sat chatting and drinking with her pals in the corner. Needless to say our group (which made up half the customers) left. No wonder the place is dead, God only knows how this place still survives in this day and age.

Service was slow to non existent staff were rude on their phones and generally not interested. I recognise it's Christmas time but it really wasn't busy!!@

We have been in a few times food lovely and warm but then another visit the food was cold We were in Saturday 14th December both took the turkey after waiting half hour it came looked lovely but I had to ask them to heat it as it was cold came back ìn 5 mins still cold if it was put in the microwave they must have just put it in for a second because it was still cold could not eat much ruined our meal my friend only ate it without getting here's warmed she and I were hungry and looking forward to a turkey meal sadly we didn't. I like my food hot they couldn't even warm mine up right that's not a lot to ask.

La primera noche tuvimos una cena temprano aquí, el pastel de carne fue el mejor que he comido mi otra mitad tenía scampi y dijo que estaba delicioso. Al día siguiente llamamos por la tarde y tuvimos una comida compartida que de nuevo fue excelente. Sin duda recomendaría este lugar

Hermoso pequeño pub, pero lo que lo hizo fue el personal, tan servicial no consiguió su nombre, no tenía comida, pero lo intentará la próxima vez, útil para las tiendas

Not a great experience, ordered a pizza to share and the kids sausages and chips, the pizza dough was still raw and badly undercooked you couldn't even pick it up the whole thing just fell apart and there was a puddle of oil on the top of the pizza. The kids sausages on the kids menu says sausages but it was cocktail sausages which is highly misleading so my daughter couldn't eat the when your saying on your menu sausages that's what a customer expects not little cocktail sausages their completely different, I quietly said to one of the waitresses about my concerns and her response was quite rude and dismissive she said you've had the food for some time but it had only actually been ten minutes I was waiting to get their attention, when I tried to speak about the kids meal she cut me off and walked away not good customer service at all in the end they took the meal off the bill but the overall experience wasn't great so I don't think we will be back and I don't normally leave reviews but the waitress has annoyed me and lack of customer service.

He estado aquí un par de veces para beber, la primera vez para comer. Es muy extraño cómo se manejan las cosas aquí... Servicio de mesa para todo. Está bien, si tienes más de un miembro del personal. Nunca lo hacen. He sido testigo de esto al menos 4 veces. Siempre me siento fatal por la única persona corriendo haciendo absolutamente todo. De todos modos... La comida era normal. Tenía antojo de pescado con papas fritas, ¡no era esto! Pescado muy flaco, en realidad dejé la mitad. Mi compañero tenía el pastel de carne que era mejor de lo que pensamos! Lamentablemente esa fue la última. Mi suegra tenía la hamburguesa de pollo que ella era buena. La camarera era encantadora! Muy servicial y servicial.

Lamb burger was great but pasta was disappointing. Real beer was advertised but they didn't have any...

Came here for a drink and meal bit of a mix up with meal but can't fault staff sorted out very quickly food was fresh and excellent would highly recommend 5 star Fowler clan

We went for breakfast and it wasn't good at all. I asked for smashed avocado with poached egg but instead served with some jar green sauce that looked like avocado and poached egg was not even cooked !!

The experience left mich to be desired. When we were sat, they took over 25minutes to take our order or drink order. "OH, I thought your order was already taken", our host was our waiter and only worked with one other person, the resturaunt was slow. On top of that, food took a while to come out, when it did, the food for the rest of my party was edible, not good, not great, not enjoyable. My food, was not edible, I was served rotten lettuce in a side salad ordered, thankfully, the waitress offered to take it off the bill. The vinegarette was not good either. I ordered the Cajun pasta. The serving size was alright, the taste was just a bunch of spices, no cream, no butter, no wine, no fresh element like an herb, it looked microwaved, the sauce was watery, overcooked bell peppers and onions. It wasnt pleasent at all. A party memeber ordered the Chicken club, the chicken was dry, hardly any condiment on the bread, and they forgot the tomato. Had our server checked on us during our meal, we could have expressed our issues with our food, but they only showed once we were "done". Lack of service, and poor food. Skip this place, it's not worth the Euros. I hope Scotland has better while visiting.

Sat outside HOWDY'S on Times Square, which is a Country Music themed bar. It was a nice day to sit and watch the world go by. There was a country musician playing inside the bar, and it sounded really good. The the atmosphere was good, service excellent. Not sure if they serve food. Recommended.

The atmosphere, the style, and the food were simply great, I recommend it wholeheartedly if you are passing through Glasgow!

Food was good and one of the staff friendly, but that's the slowest service I have ever experienced. Over 1.5h after coming and still got no dessert. Took forever to be seated and place the order. Place nearly empty. My understanding is the waitress placed an order and it was delayed by the kitchen. However it doesn't leave a good impression on the business.

Dinner as a couple. Very abundant dishes and with top products. Small menu but with enough variety. Prices £17 per person. Attentive and pleasant staff.

Super friendly staff, excellent food at an excellent price. Very satisfied. Only comment would be a sign saying order at bar would be nice. Still very impressed overall

Perfect lunch...burgers and macaroni cheese with bacon. Cold lovely beer and today it was good to sit outside in the sun...

Service was very slow and food was awful. I had a buttermilk fried chicken burger - it was burnt, greasy batter and barely any chicken, then it was so greasy I was sick when I got home. Staff did not ask how the food was, otherwise I would have explained this at the time. Would not recommend going here

Good pub grub nothing special

Had pre drinks in here and food before a night out . Staff are amazing food is amazing . Only reason i have gave 4 star was due to the fact is i have been in here before with my wife and child and was told it was fully booked when it was empty . So bit gutted with that one before .

Says on own website is dog friendly inside at bar area. Is 100% NOT dog friendly inside! Turned away at the door because they serve food everywhere now. You can be dog friendly and serve food inside, loads of pubs around glasgow do it

Have been to times square on numerous occasions, but was very disappointed with my meal today. (Are you under new management). Chicken was dry and the white sauce,which I usually love was very bland. Husband's king prawn linguine was also a disappointment. Prawns were tiny, better used in prawn cocktail and the sauce looked like it came out of a jar. Also if I wanted to order at the bar I would have went to a witherspoons. Last but not least, we always enjoyed a nice quiet meal here, music was far to loud for the afternoon. Couldn't get out quick enough.

Ambiance from the outside is very appealing. That's why we decided to stop there. Ordering at the counter: difficult. The waitress, if she communicated with us at all, only mumbled. Cider ordered, beer received. Unfortunately, the food was just as bad as the impression at the counter. Toast on the club sandwich was charred and mostly inedible. Chicken bone dry. Burger bun also charred. But the fries were there Comparison quite good. Overall, the behavior of the staff was very untypical for Scottish conditions. The warmth that you would otherwise receive was completely missing.

FOOD: We can highly recommend calamari and waffle fries. DRINK: Guinness! That says it all 👌 SERVICE: Friendly. Very good. AMBIENCE: Irish, with an American touch (lots of screens).

Food here is usually great however on Sunday we had a 16:30 booking for dinner. After waiting to be seated and given menus we were still left sitting for 30 minutes with no drinks or site of anyone coming to take our orders. We’ve been a couple of times before and have had severs forget about us. The lack of staff and organisation isn’t worth it, won’t be returning

Visited yesterday and the pub was extremely busy. Due to this it was table service only. Staff tried their best however service was very slow and a little chaotic. Drinks were missing and orders messed up. Kevin the waiter was very helpful and sorted out our issues quickly. The manager also was very apologetic and came over to our table to speak to us which was greatly appreciated. Great pub and customer service from staff under extreme pressure.

Incredible location and excellent venue for sharing a pint with friends

We went to Times Square on 17th May for a meal, I had steak pie, it was disgusting, you would need a saw to cut the undercooked meat so I only ate a few small pieces, there was only a few bits of meat in a dish full of gravy served with French fries and peas. I complained to the manager and his answer was he would speak to the kitchen. We weren’t even offered a free drink or something off our meal, shocking management. We definitely don’t recommend and won’t be back.😡😡

Food and drinks were first class, but asking for containers to take away unbeaten leftovers we were charged 2 pounds each for 3 containers to take our food away, totally out of order for food we have already paid for, bad show on glasgow, shame on you

The dining experience was exceptional from start to finish! The crispy onion rings were delightful, perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of seasoning. As a vegetarian, I often opt for regular cheese on my burgers, but I completely forgot to request it this time. Surprisingly, the vegan burger I ordered was so flavorful and satisfying that I didn't miss the cheese at all! Each bite was bursting with savory goodness, and the texture was spot on. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. It's rare to find such a gem where both the food and ambiance exceed expectations. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a delicious meal with top-notch service!

My partner and I had booked dinner in advance on Saturday as normally it’s busy however it was the quietest we had every seen at that time, we were seated and menu provided, we usually have the same food so meal choice was selected in a few minutes, other tables arrived, a 4 and a 2 who were asked if the were ready to order drinks, we had not been asked! Then the waitress took both their orders, we sat waiting with menus closed so she knew we were ready but still she hadn’t approached us, she looked over at us several times and walked past, we waited 25 minutes and left the restaurant. We frequently go to this restaurant and have done for several years but won’t go back, the place was empty and from what we could see there were 3 waitresses but no one came near us. Very disappointed as it was our go to place when shopping in Glasgow city centre.

Ok, previously I liked this bar. However recently when I attended, I wasn't asked to check-in with track and trace, my table wasn't cleaned or sanitised after the previous guests, both girls serving didn't have their face coverings over their noses. I then waited almost an hour for my food which was 'not warm' when it eventually arrived. All in all, really poor service

This is an over priced Glasgow pub with very poor service .My husband ordered steak pie chips and beans to be told 10 mins later there was no beens ,so he asked for just chips but got veg . 7 people in the hole place with 4 staff .Never be back 😳

We just went in here for a quick bite to eat. Our food came quickly even before our drinks, we had to ask twice where they were and the second time they said they would bring them over, but once pulled I could see them left on the side while someone else was being served. So halfway through my meal I had to get up to retrieve them. Club sandwich was good.

Food lovely and service good but waited 45 mins for our pudding.had to ask for it twice and when spoke to someone about it she said do you want it.then apologised saying it didn’t go to the kitchen

Guys, I'll be honest. I'm annoyed. You're closed, and you didn't turn website bookings off. We booked a table for 19:45 on 03/03/24 leaving us with not many options to eat out at places which require a booking at 8pm on a Sunday night. We hoped for something special, and we chose you. Our last meal in Glasgow together, and we had to go to wetherspoons or go without anything. Hope you're proud of yourself. 1*.

Lovely waitstaff and excellent food, the crispy babybells are a must! A strong cocktail menu, and you can order any classics that arent there. The lemon bon bon and mai tai were delicious, and the cajun salad was the best salad ive had in a long time! Will definitely be back, would reccomend to anyone.

Food is really good and staff is really nice but they don’t have ingredients to make some of the drinks on their own menu. And they didn’t have Togo boxes. Also their men’s bathroom is filthy.

We took a walk into town and had a lovely lunch and couple rose wines and lager. I had chargrilled chicken salad and my husband had chicken wraps with fries. Big portions and very tasty! Great atmosphere, attentive staff and great price! What more could you ask for😊

Just before Xmas, the place was heaving. There was a Constant stream of diners asking for available tables despite there being a clear notice on the door to confirm the restaurant was only accepting diners with prebooked tables!

I went with a friend to eat here I recommend the steak pie. It was melt in the mouth delicious .The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful . I'll definitely be back .It was reasonably priced .

I was in today for lunch and ordered the Christmas lunch , well what can I say supposed to be trimmings, no pigs in blankets, no stuffing, no Brussels , but a burnt Yorkshire, I wouldn’t rate it as a Christmas lunch to be honest , gravy tasty. But wouldn’t recommend disappointed

Not been here In ages (no reason) but nice to see the game has been raised In Here and held , met the Gm on his first day just over a year ago and he’s definitely made changes for the better. He actually remembered the conversation we had all that time ago, must of made a impression lol , anyway had a sharing platter it’s huge, tasted fresh & hit the spot, had some baby bells too oohh I could live on these, great drinks too BON BON was the wife’s choice ,banging am told , I had the Bakewell tart sour yes bloody please is all I’m saying, big choice of beers, wine reasonably priced for city centre , great to see the place really busy and staff of which was many all happy to help me and the Mrs out on our wee date night.

Been in a few time on sub-crawls, great selection of beers on tap, popped in the other day for food with friends, and WOW Food was awesome potion sizes are huge but In A good way, great value for your money, the guy in glasses behind the bar knew his stuff made us a pumpkin Spice espresso martini and a cucumber margarita (had a couple) , good mix of music too, will be back.

The manager is so rude I feel sorry for the staff who work there Where shall I start we ordered 2 lagers waitress was lovely no problems. Ordered 1 more beer and a water shame the Barman when he got to the table dropped the drinks all over the table and my wife’s jacket was covered in lager. Waitresses were so apologetic and said don’t worry it’s sorted I asked if the could dry the jacket somehow as we had a table booked elsewhere no problem they said. They then brought 2 beers and said it’s ok don’t worry and we are sorry. Now time to leave and said could we have the bill And to our shock full bill except the one beer we didn’t want. Said to the bar staff this isn’t really acceptable and what about the coat and dry cleaning bill cost cost £200 by the way and stank of lager and was still wet. Sorry need to call the manager here comes one of the most most rude obnoxious person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting his words pay the bar bill and send me the cleaning bill I said how do I know u will pay it answer I will tonwhich we said we are not paining the £17 and walked off he ran to a police man crying his eyes out long and short he can do what he wants the laws on his side enjoy the £20 I gave u maybe use the £3 to learn manners

Just be aware when ordering of the cocktail menu as the price is says isn’t correct !! Just add another couple of pounds on to each drink !! Apparently it’s old menus,, we did question how can this be correct but basically it was a big tuff luck, we spent a good bit of money between food and drinks,, unbelievable how the think this is acceptable!!

Great place for a drink, not so much food

Atmosphere and attitude of staff very lacking. More a dingy drinking establishment thank nice restaurant. Food not hot, had to send back but it really put us off eating there, decided to get a takeaway from local place.

Had steak pie beef very tough , needs to be cooked longer not enjoyable . Stated chips with pie however it was French fries- these are not chips . Sorry but wouldn't come back for food
