This location is absolutely stunning with a lovely beer garden and incredible views. However overall, we just did not have a good experience here. The service time was very long even though the place was practically empty and the food was lacklustre. It’s a real shame as it has so much potential.

Wasn't sure about going here after seeing the reviews, but had an excellent meal (chicken) in a stunning setting with friendly service. Don't really know what I could complain about! The food took a while to come, but was 100% worth the wait.

We ordered the Aberdeen Angus burger, it tasted not bad, should be better than what was commented in the first review of this restaurant, so we guess that the restaurant might improved the food quality: the burger bread was warm, the cheese was melted, the beef was fully cooked although it didn’t look like Aberdeen beef, not too oily, the chips were not grease, everything was fine. Good service, Peter is a nice and funny guy. More importantly, the view is lovely! We love the view, the mill, and it’s producing electricity!

The two stars are based on food alone. Beautiful spot, rented some stand up paddle boards, lovely. Bu the food is over priced and disappointing. My friend ordered the pork roast and the vegetables looked boiled to death. I had an ‘Aberdeen Angus’ burger that was a reformed frozen burger with the texture of rubber. Sorry guys, but it’s not hard to make a good burger!

Came here for Mother's Day with my family and the experience was pretty poor. We had a midday booking, and yet there were a lot of things on the menu that simply weren't available / sold out: two choices of our main courses (the duck course, fish and chips...) and even the wine we wanted was not available. If you're going to market yourself as a great place for Mother's Day, why not have your stock available, rather than having to apologise every time we picked something? The live piano was a nice idea, and we weren't even the closest table to it, but it was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation - it's a grand piano - shut the lid! The last straw was the slow service, from an understaffed, overworked and under-experienced team. Certainly not an experience I wish to repeat.

Visited with an ember (similar to an 'old flame' but not so hot) with her new paramour for a catch-up and an exchange of 'life so far' Since my last visit, many large TV screens have been installed. Rugby was being shown and the volume was high. The beer and the company were excellent, but intimate conversation was difficult.
