Ordered food to pick up this evening and it was amazing! The ramens were fantastic and the tempura prawns were huge! Really tasty food. Will definitely be coming back/ordering again.

This is a fantastic Japanese restaurant - perfect for lunch. We liked it so much that we went two days in a row, and could only wait a week before going again! I recommend their Bento Boxes, which are generous, well-priced, and very tasty! Try their temaki handrolls, too - delicious!

The food is amazing! Beautiful to see and delicious, that’s why I could not post any pictures as it went away very quickly! Staff super kind and place super clean! Lovely

This place is great……very quiet and unassuming but the food is brilliant. Probably underrated by locals as clientele were pretty scant, they should wake up and realise what is available on their doorstep!! Cannot recommend enough.

My husband had been here before and really rated this place. But this was my first time And I loved it. I ordered sashimi and an eel Nilgiri. The food was superb. The tuna was cut a bit thick for me and I would probably order the sea bass next time but then I am very fussy re sushi. The sashimi had surf clam and octopus tuna and a really good fatty salmon. The black sesame mochi icecream was wonderful and a nice end to the meal. I liked the brown rice green tea too. Service by a lovely lady with a smile. Nice atmosphere. I am really looking forward to going back. Judging by the reaction of the other customers to their food I think they felt the same!

We were huge fans when Umami first opened on Dorking high street. Superb standard of food, good service and a tasty style of cuisine for a reasonable price. When prices started to increase, we visited less but still maintained the quality of the food was fair for the expense. Unfortunately, our last visit this evening has finally cemented our view that the visit would indeed be our last. We both opted for katsu curry, one chicken and one pumpkin. The food came out super quick - almost too quick, which leaves you thinking 'has this dish been on the side keeping lukewarm?'. While the chicken dish looked like a fair size, the portion of pumpkin was not worth near the £10 price tag. We spoke to the server, who took the dish to the manager. Instead of taking accountability for the feedback from a customer, the manager sent the server back to us to deliver the message 'If you would like more pumpkin, it will be charged extra'. To that end, we ate what was on the plate, paid and left. What a disappointing ending for our love with this establishment - you have lost two loyal customers due to poor customer service by the management.
