Very nice fish and chips, batter was spot on and not too greasy and the large cod was enormous!

Really gone downhill. The chips were hard and the fish was overcooked and dry. As if it had been kept hot too long. Ended up giving it to the dogs

Wasn't the worst chippy I've ever been to food was ok big portions ,parking is rubbish tho

Excellent food. We had battered sausage and chips with mushy peas and all were excellent (even though we had to drive another 15 mins to our lodgings). Parked just outside on the road. Card is ok to pay with over a tenner I think, otherwise cash. Co-op down the road has a cash machine 😉

Rock hard chips my teeth hurt cash only so don't pay their tax properly. And got order wrong.

The best est Fish and Chips that have ever tried in UK. The fish was crispy, not oily and very tasty. The chips were delicious as well. Would recommend to everyone.

Ordered 3 portions of chips and saveloy tonight and was very disappointed. The saveloy was tasteless and the chips tasted like they had been heated up a few times, hard and not very nice at all

So lucky to have you near home. The best fish and chips place in town. Fish is fresh and tasty butter is light and chips are top quality. Not only very clean but also cute.

Not been here for a few years as there chips always seemed to taste dry, anyway was walking home from town with my son today and decided to give it a try again, very polite and friendly good size portion and tasted lovely, nothing not to like.

Great Cod and chips, especially for an Old’un. Probably best chips in Maldon, many of them. Only disappointment has been the OP rock and chips, couple of times.

Best piece of fish I've eaten in ages - lovely light batter, not greasy and the fish had a lovely flavour to it. Chips were nice and crisp with flavour too. A very pleasant find! Our local (Weymouth) fish and chip shops could learn a thing or two.

Lived in Maldon 6 yrs now..always heard the fish n chips at UK FISH BAR were really good, so last night my family popped to 'Wantz Road Maldon' to try it. Was around 8.30pm Friday 12/11/2021 and I think they close at 9.30pm so wasn't sure how the food would be an hour before closing.. No worries at all..all freshly cooked whilst we waited..looked, smelt and tasted wonderful..family had the scampi and devoured it quickly it was that nice..I had a medium cod and regular chips..my cod could have easily fed 2 ..My son had large cod and large chips..again lovely cooked fish..light crispy batter ..not soggy..great chips..and a large portion of chips could easily feed 2 adults or 3 kids..The chip shop was so clean and tidy..friendly lady serving us and good prices too ..especially for the quality and portion size.. Will definately return there ..10 out of 10 all round for this place. No eat in area but just buy and take it home and enjoy. There's also a nice little pub across the road to it 'The Borough Arms' ..great landlord with friendly staff..pop in there have a drink then cross over the road and buy your fish n chips to take home. 😊

Found this place purely by chance as I'm from outta town. When I'm in the area or near I make an effort to go as it is good. Big portions. Chips nicely done. Fish good too, although last few times I've been, the fish size seems to have been getting smaller for a regular cod/haddock, but still really good. quality. Nice family. Service with a smile sometimes. Not easy to park outside though as competing with residential parking and double yellow lines. Still worth it though.

I drive about 5 miles to get here. Top quality, large portions and lovely staff. Best fish and chips around!

Been using this chippy for a long time, but the size of the cod is getting smaller everytime last piece was less than 2 inches across seriously not happy. We will not be using this chippy again, there are several good fish chip places in town so will be using them in future. Shame used to be a good chippy but not any longer.!!!

Does fish. Does chips. Does sausages. Does sausages in batter. Does savaloys both dry and in water. Does burgers made from some kind of meat, but they taste great. They have gerkins and pickled eggs too. IT'S A CHIP SHOP!!

Absolutely disgusting food!! Never experienced anything like it!!

Food is good most of the time and reasonably priced. Chip portions are massive. A little too big of I'm honest. Tend to only order one portion (wrapped) between two of us. Tend to shut really early without warning if they're quiet so can't always be sure that there open.

BE WARNED, this chippy cuts the Cod down the middle, length ways! so you are only getting half a piece of fish about 2inch wide...total rip off regarding the fish, the chips are good though hence the 1 star.(if you don't believe me, take off the batter and look at the skin)
