We booked for High tea the food was excellent service friendly just what Six Bells needs we will definitely be back well done

Went with grandsons and both times the food was excellent. It was served hot and with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend.

Myself, husband and 2 younger children called in while out adventuring last weekend. We all had a breakfast which was lovely, very tasty. Tea, latte, hot chocolate and a soft drink, all very nice. Lovely cafe, lovely staff, couldn’t fault it. Would definitely recommend and return.

We stopped here after cycling from Cardiff to see The Guardian. Recommended if you're cycling this way. The best coffee I've had in a while, snacks and food as well, reasonable prices.

I went with my grandson and we both enjoyed are meals. They were hot and presented well. Coffee was the nicest I had for a very long time. They were very polite and happy. The place is spotless. Everything about it made for an remarkable day. You can judge a place by the cleanliness if it's toilets and these was of 1st standard. We will definitely be returning.

Ty Ebbw Fach has recently reopened with new owners. They're extremely friendly and helpful. I had a homemade quiche, so tasty!

You will not have passed here by chance, but you must make the effort. First travel towards Abertllery in South East Wales and find signs to 'The Guardian'. The Guardian is a huge metal figure in the shape of a coal miner. It stands in commemoration of a mining disaster at the Six Bells Colliery in 1960, when many lives were lost. Do walk right up to the figure from the car-park, as it is more awe-inspiring the nearer you get to it. Once you have viewed this monument, go to the café just next to the parking. A wide range of home-made food is available throughout the day and the service is warm and welcoming. We only stopped for tea, but the cakes and pasties were delicious. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

I called In Ty Ebbw Fach for a Coffee after visiting "The Guardian" and It was lovely Inside too. It was super clean Inside and the Staff were friendly. It had a lovely atmosphere. It was a nice day outside to so the window was open letting In some cool air. I only had a Coffee so I cant talk about the food but the Salad looked nice. I will be visiting again In a few weeks so I will make this place somewhere to sit down and eat Lunch. I noticed It had FREE Wi Fi too. If your passing then do call In. It Is really worth the visit. I am certain there Is some kind of Museum Inside as you walk through the door. I will look better next time. All In all Its a lovely place and the Coffee Is good.

Great food, lovely staff, very helpful

We visited for Sunday lunch, myself, my wife and my mother. We all had the garlic mushrooms to start I had the veggie option which included veggie sausages potatoes roasties and a good selection of veg and stuffing with as much gravy as we wanted, my wife and mother had pork. I was the only one to have a sweet apple pie and ice cream. Couldn’t fault it, the staff were excellent and would definitely recommend to anyone.

The fish cakes are amazing. Friendly atmosphere and kind to my daughter. Will definitely be returning soon.

Have been being to visit Six Bells for a few years, but always seem to skip it. Had promised my Australian wife we would go there, but two days later than we did, as the weather was nice, so went on spur of moment. Thank heaven, rest of week weather was awful. The Guardian statue was awe inspiring. Went in the TyEbbw Fach - immediately was impressed. Clean, tidy, good decor, lovely food, pleasant staff and didn’t break the bank. Would well recommend.

First time I'd visited this cafe although I'd heard good things about it. I called in for a coffee after visiting the Guardian again. It was quite full but the surroundings are very pleasant and comfortable, and the staff very friendly. The lemon sponge cake was amazing. I will be visiting again.

Went here recently for a vegan afternoon tea, and was absolutely blown away! We booked in advance and went as a group, and were treated to some absolutely delicious treats! Sandwiches, tea, scones, iced custard slices, cupcakes - we were thoroughly spoiled! I'll definitely be back.

We visited on Friday with friends from Newfoundland, Canada. Bacon sandwiches were excellent and the custard slices were absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and entertaining.

Cozy, very friendly bistro. We had hot chocolate and cake which were good. Unfortunately there was no chocolate cake, but we had enough calories with the Victoria cake

This is a very nice small local cafe with nice staff and service. The drinks were perfect and the cake too. Usually they happen to have Gluten Free cakes but we arrived too late.

Our first visit to Ty Ebbw Fach, a fantastic place to eat, the food was excellent and very reasonable, my wife and I are Vegan which was not a problem, (plenty of Vegan options) the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful, looking forward to our next visit.

Took my parents down today for lunch, they had never been before and I must say our lunch was absolutely yummy, my father commented that it was the best meal he'd had out in a very long time. Staff are so friendly, I highly recommend this hidden gem.

Me and my Husband visited here today and had the best sunday dinner with a home made nut roast! The owner was very friendly and made it completely vegan for us along with our plumb crumble with cream! Very pleased. Really good food for a decent price, lovely atmosphere will definatly be going back and defenately reccomend to anyone!

He tenido muchas comidas, incluyendo té de la tarde y el domingo a mediodía. La comida siempre es perfecto. Vine aquí para el té de la tarde para una despedida de soltero y fue perfecto. Fantástica comida y un ambiente encantador. El personal es siempre muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar. No se olvide de probar uno de los postres aquí si vas para la cena y el almuerzo. . Las tortas son caseras. increíble! ! Hay también un pequeño museo dedicado a la minería (campanas de desastres 6 a la derecha cuando se entra desde la calle). Esto merece la pena, así como un paseo al memorial de tutor (a unos 3 minutos a pie de la cafetería).

Late Mother's Day treat for myself and my mother off my daughter in law and grandsons. Fabulous welcome and service, the food was fresh and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were also very good with the children, they loved their hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and their surprise chocolate lolly pop. Will definitely be back.

8 of as went to this place for afternoon tea, it was a late mothers day treat, i must say it was one of the best afternoon i have ever had. my 2 granddaughters came as well, my daughters and my 92 year old mother, so there was 4 generation having our tea. the sausage rolls were home made, as well as all the cakes and scones, they were all beautiful, the was plenty of tea and drinks available for us all,and then came the home made ice slices. they was lush. the staff and owner was very helpful and friendly and the whole place was child friendly aswell. They even cooked home made chips for the two little ones and didnt even charge. the amount of food that we had was amazing, and was given bags to take what we didnt eat home. All this for ten pounds each. we will definitely be returning, because we must try there lunches out aswell. I can only thank these people for a wonderful and great afternoon tea.

We had a very personal service for afternoon tea. The people at Ty Ebbw really care about their customers. The whole place is pleasant, clean and airy. A great place for meeting or just eating/relaxing. For vegans there is a special service which is outstanding. Scones, custard slices, sandwiches with pickle, cup cakes, the list goes on. Thoroughly recommended.

We came I today for a pre arranged Vegan afternoon tea. We had a beautiful selection of sandwiches with vegan cheese, hummus, and lots of salad. And cake wise we had homemade scones, homemade iced slices and vegan cupcakes. How wonderful to be able to enjoy a completely vegan afternoon tea. Such amazing attention to detail and wonderful tasting food. So excited to have this in our area. Thank you!!

Lovely meals and small miners museum remembering the Six Bells pit disaster

Great friendly service, fantastic, stunning foods and cakes. Laima has made many birthday cakes for my family and will continue to do so. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Especially as they've just been tipped as the top 5 place to eat in Blaenau Gwent.

Just popped in after a visit to see the guardian and so pleased we did,everything was just brilliant from the food,drinks,cleanliness,staff.We are definitely returning.

We are regular visitors for Sunday lunch and other meals and the food is always first class, using fresh produce and well prepaired. The service and value for money is excellent and have already booked for Xmas day 2018.

Came here after visiting the guardian sculpture nearby. Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, friendly service and good well cooked food. I wish I could say this for many of the much more expensive cafes I've visited in recent years. Can recommend without hesitation.

Been here a few times and the service and food is always excellent. The premises are spotlessly clean, and modern. I recommend the afternoon tea with homemade cakes, and the full English breakfast with good quality ingredients including free range eggs. You will leave with a very full belly, and can walk it all off with a stroll over to the Six Bells Guardian afterwards!

8 of us went for breakfast as our works do. The cafe is really nice with plenty of tables and chairs and an amazing menu with lots of home cooked products on show to tempt you. We all had the large breakfasts which was plenty. You get a choice of tea or coffee and fried bread and toast. For a small extra charge you can have both. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff working there. The food was all fresh cooked and it was delicious. Great cafe great food great staff. I highly recommend the place. They even did three take out breakfasts for a couple of the tram how could not make it.

6 of us visited here for the Xmas dinner and sleigh meal x the meals are lovely and fresh and plentiful x the sleigh meals were fantastic with cakes n treats n sandwiches with home made chips x Xmas dinner was lush and the vegan roast n gravy was delicious x all went happy happy girls and full x thank u laima xx

Laima and staff can't do enough for you. I've been to this place many times and always thought it was a fab place, however, when myself and family booked a private party for Christmas Eve breakfast I was more than delighted to see all the little extras Laima had thought of. We had a colouring table for the children and pancakes in the shape of Rudolph!!! A fantastic start to our Christmas celebrations, so good in fact, I've booked for Christmas 2017!!

Laima, Brian and staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The place is always spotlessly clean and tidy and there is a wide variety of home made meals, desserts and cakes on offer plus daily specials. They offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes including desserts and cakes which is brilliant for those on restricted diets. They also do parties, afternoon tea etc and the place always looks lovely with fresh flowers and bunting. Highly recommended!

Both the atmosphere and staff at The Cafe at Ty Ebbw Fach are welcoming and give the place a familiar relaxed feeling. In my experience service is very prompt and "always" cheerful, seriously I don't know what they do to make their staff so happy, but I wish more places would do the same. The difference between a server that has a face like thunder and one that is smiling goes a long way, in my opinion. Whether visiting for a quick or large bite, the menu is decent but doesn't overwhelm you, additionally a blackboard outlines any items that are also available the day you visit. Overall prices are reasonable especially since the quality of the food is very high. Finally if you have the chance to have a Sunday dinner at Ty Ebbw Fach, do it! You really won't be disappointed.

We booked a coach party of 22. We came to see the amazing statue to the lost miners at Six Bells. We arrived late so they'd had to redo some of the orders. We were all served promptly. The food was hot and plentiful. Lovely desserts and we had wine and beer. The prices are amazing. A very clean place with an outside area with table and chairs in the summer. We will definitely be going again.. Thanks to the owner and staff.

The staff team were amazing ! Attentive,thoughtful delivering the very best in customer service ! We went for afternoon tea for my friend Laura's baby shower.We paid £9.99 which I think was excellent value for money.Everything was fresh and home made.The choice of sandwiches was great,the scones with jam and cream were fresh from the oven,custard slices were heaven sent and the sausage rolls WOW !!! The pastry melted in your mouth fresh from the oven of course ! I had three lattes all with an extra shot and an espresso.All was beautifully presented and delivered perfectly.The only child in our group was given gifts from our hosts and lots of positive attention lavished upon her ! The staff here felt like friends and they certainly deliver the very best afternoon tea in the whole of Wales ! Thankyou I will be definitely be back for more afternoon tea and will be booking for Sunday lunch ! They also do parties,themed parties,children's parties ! Visited this cafe again today - we couldn't book for Sunday lunch as they were full! This is a great recommendation that local people use this cafe/restaurant frequently. Nevertheless we were warmly welcomed in for drinks and cheesecake between Sunday lunches and a 'Baby shower'. happening later that afternoon. We had great food and drinks- the malteser cheesecake was a great hit.Incidentially the cupcakes and main cake for the baby shower was very professionally done. We loved the 'peas in a pod' It was the owner/managers birthday -so no time for her to relax. I wish I lived nearer- I would be there every week

Lovely Prosecco afternoon teas - good valley for money. Good selection of sandwiches, with fab freshly cooked scones while you are there, and also lovely custard slices and cup cakes.

Lovely afternoon tea for baby shower, very friendly atmosphere and tasty food with endless tea and coffee.

A realy good welcome awaits everyone here, learn about the Six Bells mining disaster and then move into the bar and restaraunt where you will find delicious home made food. Large portions of very good food. you may need to book early as this place sometimes have full bookings as it is very popular with locals as well as visitors.

Came here today after seeing the Guardian had a lovely veg sausage, egg and chips the chips were cooked just how I like it nice and crispy and decent portion, all the staff were friendly, and and happy and also lovely to talk to them as well x

Went to Six Bells today to see The Guardian miners memorial sculpture, something I think everyone should see, humbling but truly an amazing work of art and a real tribute to the miners who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy. A friend who had been there fairly recently recommended we call to the cafe opposite the car park which we did before the walk. The staff were so welcoming and you could really feel a great sense of community there, we didn't feel like outsiders. Now the food, started with a lovely cappuchino, followed by a really nice brunch, great value for money. For dessert, wimberry tart and custard, just like your gran would make, beautiful. My partner had an all day breakfast followed by snickers cheesecake and cream. Stunning. The place was spotless and nicely furnished with wood tables and leather chairs. I just wish this place was closer to home. Don't miss if you are anywhere near.

Myself , and partner , went for Sunday lunch. Amazing welcome ,food and area. I go for coffee and snacks on a regular basis because 8f the cleanliness of the place. We had our meal outside. This area was SO clean. IMMACULATE !!!! The service was excellent. THE FOOD well , we both loved it. Cannot fault cooking quality or amount. Plenty for two hungry people. The main meal we chose was beef and there was plenty of other choice also. Such tender meat. Also , ALL items home made. No sign of aunt Bessies here!!!! THE DESSERT OMG! My partner had rhubarb crumble. Loved it ! I had HOME MADE raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. AWESOME. Best I have EVER tasted.We were informed that Christmas day is fully booked! IN EARLY JUNE? They DID find a place for us at Christmas. In fact , went to a lot of trouble to accommodate us. YAY.To conclude , everything was so special we were getting prepared to sit OUTSIDE ON CHRISTMAS DAY wearing boots , coats , scarves etc. just to be there. This place is THE BEST. If in the Abertillery/Six Bells area, even if you are not visiting the Guardian a visit to the Ty Ebbw Fach is well worth the effort.It is housed in the former pub The Coach & Horses where I spent many hours in my formative years, I have called in on a few occasions and each time the welcome and the food have been 1st class. A huge plus is that they now have a licence they are stocking the excellent bottle conditioned ale from their neighbours the Tudor Brewery.The coffee, bacon/sausage baguette are excellent and superb value, the home-made soup worth a visit on it's own and the corned beef pie wonderful.The stroll to the Guardian finishes off the day in great style.
