My sister and her husband took me and my wife here for a meal I have to say the moment we walked through the door we were impressed. The pub atmosphere was amazing very chilled and relaxing and everyone was enjoying themselves. We went through the bar to the restaurant,it was immaculately clean and very spacious it the way it was laid out. The food was beautiful and excellent value for money. The staff were amazing very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the bit of banter. It was more than obvious that they take great pride in what they deliver and by doing so create a pleasureable experience for everyone. It's one of the best places we have been and we are definitely going again,and I don't say that very often and I would highly recommend anyone to visit even if it's just for a drink. Thank you very much for a great experience.

Fantastic Sunday Roast. Beef just fell apart, plenty of vegetables including my favourite Cauliflower cheese also plenty of extra gravy. Desserts, I had waffles ice-cream & caramel sauce, other Desserts including Apple Cobbler, chocolate fudge cake, sticky toffee pudding which we're all enjoyed by our group. Staff Amazing and all at an affordable price. Would definitely recommend and will visit again soon.

We didn't book but the landlady squeezed a group of 4 of us in. The food was delicious. The atmostphere abd decor very pleasant The staff very professional and service exceptional. We only found this little gem recently. Give it a go you won't be disappointed. Booking is recommended though.

This is a very busy little pub/restaurant and with good reason. the food is first class,. The service is extremely friendly. As soon as you arrive, there's a sense of community and as a visitor you are made to feel that you also belong. I don't feel that "The Hobby Horse" needs ANY more accolades from me but I have to give credit where it's due. Top place for food, great atmosphere, lovely staff, reasonable pricing and an overall wonderful experience. We'll definitely be going back - can't shout about it enough (in a great way!). Lovely food and the serving staff are very kind and helpful. Very good value for money. Happy to recommend this pub but would advise ringing to book well in advance as quiet busy especially on Sundays.

Chose this place to celebrate a birthday. Will 100% be back, has instantly become my favourite local restaurant. The only issue is getting through to book can be a little tricky.

Staff very welcoming, great food & service.

I haven't eaten here yet but it's had a great renovation job and the place is excellent now. The pub still retains a typical bar atmosphere thanks to great owners and staff. The restaurant is separated from the bar and all in all it's a quality family place these days.

The sharing platter for starters was huge, nice variety too. I had Chicken Diane for main course and my partner had the fish and chips. Both meals were delicious and large pertions too. Sadly no room for dessert.

Been here quite a few times & will keep on returning. Went for a Family Easter meal at 12:30hrs & went straight to our table after ordering drinks at the bar. Service was very professional & very quick. The food was also served very quick & was absolutely beautiful. Can't fault anything at all & I Dion't think we've heard anyone who's had anything bad to say about tis place.. Thank You So Much X

went here tonight for my grd-sons 9th bday meal,as this was where he wanted to go,a party of 12,3 kids(7,9&9 tomoro lol) 9 adults,everythg from booking to arriving was faultless,the staff are so friendly they are like friends,the young girl who served us was faultless and a massive credit to the whole experience,she was so polite,attentive and nothing fazed her,our whole experience was 100% when they call you by your 1st name you know your at a happy place.x

Fabulous food and service very friendly staff

Quirky local pub amongst terrace houses, with a small bar and separate restaurant. We visited for Sunday lunch, which is not easy to get right, but we weren't disappointed. Very good quality meat and vegetables, all freshly prepared and interesting desserts to follow. Friendly, efficient service and a reasonable bill means we'll definitely visit again.

We have recently found the hobby horse this year. We were told that they hired a new chef and boy is the food good. We’ve been there for lunch a couple of times and the food is always on point. I would suggest you make reservations as it gets full really quick. There’s a wide variety of food on the menu to taste and enjoy. On this day We had burgers and chips. As you can see they were delicious. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent friendly pub whether you have children or just close family. I took my mother there for a lunchtime meal, as a sometimes 'picky' eater she in her element. Excellent beef roast dinner and magic starter. She is looking forwards to a return match! The Sidoli ice creams were brilliant and all for a reasonable price. Shall definitely be returning. Thank you for a cracking lunch. Highly recommended

Called in on the off chance of a table being available and we were in luck!!. Highly recommend The Hobby Horse, we've had a few lovely lunchtime meals now and all have been cooked to perfection. Great portion sizes as we do love our food!. The staff and owner give excellent customer service and nothing is to much trouble for any of them. We're going to book evening meal this week and looking forward to it already.

First visit to the hobby horse for a drink in the beer garden. Beautiful pub inside and out and spotlessly clean especially the toilets, we've booked our first meal there next Saturday evening and looking forward to it 😊😊

Lovely, friendly staff who were very accommodating when we turned up unannounced on a busy afternoon for Sunday lunch. Food was served quickly and tasted absolutely delicious. Veggie options available, great lager, nice decor and beer garden at the front of the property. Fab!!

Just the other evening myself and my wife went to the hobby horse to quietly celebrate her birthday . On arrival the pub was very busy. We went to the bar area and informed the staff that we had booked a table for 20:00. We ordered drinks at the bar and shown to our table. The waitress was very polite and helpful and gave us our menus. We both ordered soup of the day ( leek & potato), my wife had the gammon for her mains and I had the hobby burger. The soup was very tasty with a hot bread roll and butter. Our mains were huge in quantity and plentiful . My wife had the Belgian waffle with ice cream which she enjoyed. We had a friendly conversation with the owner( Emma)? And we were made to feel very welcome . The total cost with 2 large glasses of rose wine and 2 pints of lager came to a very reasonable £60.00. On reflection we would definitely come back again in the near future. Overall I would rate the total experience a very good 8.5 out of 10. Well done .

If you want an exceptional Sunday lunch and very friendly staff and most of all good price then you need to give the Hobby Horse a go, guaranteed you will not be disappointed. It's been a long time since I last visited here, I was pleasently surprised how nice the pub is these days. Newly refurbished and it looks lovely! Very welcoming, fantastic service and the food was really good! They catered to all our needs , even cooking a vegan curry specially for my wife as there were no vegan options on the lunchtime menu! I would definitely recommend The Hobby Horse to anyone looking for a family meal or a drink in their cosy bar by the Woodburner!

We had a Christmas meal tonight 22nd and food was lovely couldn't fault it very friendly and welcoming atmosphere

Thank you to Emma and her team for providing us with a lovely Christmas meal. Their was a large group to cater for but the staff and service was amazing and we were all sat on individual tables in our family bubbles which was very reassuring. The food was lovely and the portions were great and I would recommend others to try. Well done all and look forward to returning in 2022.

Very good food and friendly service would go there again

We stumbled upon this place driving around during lockdown. We finally today got a chance to have lunch there. It’s a very comfortable publ like environment. The food was awesome. I can’t stop talking about the potato and leek soup I had for lunch. We also had the steak and ale pie and the fish and chips respectively. We are definitely thinking about making this place our local as the staff were very very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice.
