Food quality and portion size was very good. Lovely atmosphere. Staff were attentive. We had the roast dinner which was delicious.

This is the third time I have visited this place and the third time the menu was limited to next to nothing. The only difference this time was we booked a table in advance for a simple roast dinner. On arrival, we sat in a nice area. We ordered drinks before we were given a menu. Then when I requested a choice of roast, from the menu, we were told they had no Roast dinners! The whole point in booking the table was to secure a roast dinner. I ended up with Hunter's chicken which I have to say was dry and pretty awful. If I hadn't have ordered the drinks, I would have left without ordering at all. This place is so frustrating and I certainly won't be giving it another chance.

Great place for a meal and a drink, and good quiz night on Tuesdays.

A really enjoyable lunch with excellent food and a nice friendly atmosphere! Service was quick, staff were friendly! Can thoroughly recommend the chicken burger, although I didn't have it, I had serious food envy!

Tables nicely spaced, plenty of comfortable seating to choose from.

Ate here with friends who live in Newbury at the weekend. Great, friendly welcome. A good choice of beers and ciders and a really good menu. Bonus our friends had a voucher too. Excellent service. Good food at good prices. Brilliant atmosphere in the restaurant too. Would definitely eat here again when we're back in Newbury visiting friends.

Very good meal excellent ambience

Came in was greeted by a very friendly waitress who sat me and my daughter down she was very polite excellent with my daughter and sorted her some colouring and spoke to her about it. She then asked about allergies and took our drinks orders and gave us the menus. She was so polite it was like having dinner at a close friend's house and the starters came out very quick but we're really nice my daughter had halloumi sticks and I went for the sticky chicken they were excellent. Then for mains I had the beer battered fish and chips my daughter had the macaroni cheese and garlic bread my daughter ate all of it which must of been good as she ate both courses leaving nothing for a 8 year old thats a big deal the excellent waitress we had made sure I had all the condiments for mine and got me another drink again excellent customer service. We decided to share a pudding as we wanted to try it but were full from our 2 courses we already had so shared the salted caramel and biscoff sundae the lovely waitress grabbed us 2 spoons and joked with my daughter I've put extra biscuit in there as she heard my daughter telling me how much she likes biscoff and she was sharing with dad l. It was really nice and made daughter really happy she was really nice dad my daughter said when we were leaving and asked if we could come back again soon. So I didn't catch her name but I want to say a big thank you and when I return I'd like to leave a tip I didn't have cash on me this time and the card machine didn't give me a option but if I was running a restaurant I'd want you in my team for sure.

We were shown to our table after confirming our booking. The waitress was very pleasant and gave us time to review the menu and order. Our food came in good time and was very nice indeed. Excellent quality and a good portion size. We will be returning.

Nothing not to like! Good food and drinks, efficient and friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere and clean. Competitive prices, too!! 10/10. Our new 'go to ' place.

We came here for my grandsons 10th birthday. There was 10 of us in the group, ervice and the food was really good. Craig looked after us all ensuring everything was fine. I would recommend and definitely be coming back again.

We booked for a large party for Sunday lunch. We ordered a mixture of food including Sunday roasts. The portions were generous, good quality and good value. The service was good and the manager was very accommodating. I would recommend eating here. I will certainly visit again.

The service from start to finish was absolutely brilliant, we had craig ( maybe Craig cage) as our server lovely bloke, got us everything we needed. Food was absolutely beautiful from the presentation, temperatures and portion was just lovely, we were a table of 10 and all our meals and sides came all together.

Lovely little pub, food was really good and well priced. We had 3 courses and all of them were tasty and well presented. Craig was our server; he was really attentive and polite, as was the guy who brought out the food. The lady behind the bar was also warm and friendly. Overall a great experience, would definitely visit again.

Meal for 5 amazing food. Great portion size. Nice to find service with a smile again with craig. Paul behind the bar gave me a great surgestion on a non acholic beer.

The manager was polite and accommodating. The new lady behind the bar was great. She explained everything and apologised as she was new but she was fantastic. The food was delicious! I had the kebab and my partner had the sirloin steak. A great experience!

Fabulous food as always Very friendly helpful staff And an overall lovely atmosphere

This was our 2nd visit in two days, on a short break weekend. Fell across the pub as it was opposite our hotel. Atmosphere was friendly, staff helpful and we could not fault the food. Mixed grills were superb with everything perfectly cooked and piping hot. Fish and Chips and a 3 meat roast on the 2nd day were also perfectly cooked. All the meals were generously proportioned for the price. We will be back, particularly as the pub is dog friendly.

Always good pub grub, great with kids even the ones who are chaos. Food was lovely. And the staff were lush.

Welcome was excellent, service was excellent and food was excellent.

It was a very busy evening as there was the special offer of 30% of grills but Georgia , our waitress was very prompt and efficient and friendly and we did not have to wait long. We always get good service in the 2 Watermills, Newbury and we are usually served by Georgia. No complaints at all thank you.

Nice friendly, relaxed atmosphere

The Food was amazing (better than our last visit a couple of years ago): The Rib eye steak was delightful and everything about my meal infact. Our server was superb, polite and just on hand for anything we needed. Thank you and we will be visiting again soon

My mum hired some of the pub out for her 90th birthday party. Very friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff. Only had a buffet but couldn't fault it. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you but don't mither you while your eating. Decor is stunning and the food is beautiful.

Arrived without booking was shown to a nice table by the Manager. Elouise the waitress arrived to take drinks order. They were delivered efficiently. She then returned to take our food order. Food was delivered hot. Nice time between courses.

We were greeted in a friendly, but professional manner, at the registration desk and promptly shown to our table. Or dietary requirements were requested and suitable menus provided. Service was efficient and not "pushy", and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The personnel attending the table were friendly and helpful. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Been here many times food is great however came this time, sat at my table for 20 minutes many staff have walked passed and started but not asked for my order ended up paying for just the drinks and getting a kfc, appaling service

My friend and I were given a lovely welcome when we arrived and we were shown to our table straight away and given the menu, we were waited on by a very polite and friendly waiter who took our order for drinks and food

It nice to go into to a friendly and warm pub the meal was very nice and didn’t take that long to come considering it was Christmas day the staff were excellent, we were a party of 13 and all had an excellent Chrstmas dinner thank you all so much.

When I booked my reservation online, I couldn't do the food pre-order. My sister came to your restaurant on the 3 December and when she left she collected a paper version of your menu, I completed it and she returned it. I received an email saying no pre-order of food was taken so when I called the restaurant they said they didn't have my paper order either. Anyway, they rectified the situation and when we arrived on 26 December for our meal, it was totally outstanding. The food tasted delicious and the service from Suzie was excellent and she was very attentive, albeit extremely busy buy always had a beautiful smile on her face. So thank you Suzie

A great place to visit, food is always amazing

A regular monthly visitor with a group of friends. Service varied a bit twice 5 star once 3 star food is I think good value and tasty. Caters for vegan/ vegetarian, but I am not either. There is a good atmosphere for a family oriented establishment.

My boyfriend and I came here on 16/11/24 when town was busy because of the Christmas market and we wanted to eat dinner somewhere nice and quiet. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant section and were served by Suzie, who had excellent service and really made us feel at home. She was serving quite a few tables at the time but consistently checked back that we were enjoying our meal, if we needed any more drinks or sauces and things which we really appreciated. Thank you Suzie! The food was perfect and we really enjoyed our evening! Will definitely be coming back again.

We met some relatives here for a pre Christmas lunch. The Christmas Turkey carvery was very tasty, great stuffing! We had a well positioned table and the service and food was superb. Shout out to Ruby and the team for making our Christmas lunch special

We come as a multi generational family, in our 20’s, 30’s, 50’s and 80’s every week on a Tuesday for the quiz. There is always a friendly welcome from staff and a warm feel to the pub.

We enjoyed our meal here ( often eat here) . I have to say the staff were all excellent, way above what would be considered average and a special thanks to our waitress Ruby who went above and beyond looking after us without intrusion. Great food, top service and a super smile Thank you so much

Staff were polite and prompt, food was great and did not take long to arrive. I will suggest that it would be nice if the small children play area inside the family area be reinstated, as we were with friends who had a 2 1/2 year old who required something more to do as he got told off for running up and down by the bar. Had our staff Christmas do hear and although the staff were amazing and the price was also very good the main and dessert really let it down. My starter was amazing. I had the patè to start, the main was OK but nothing really to wright home about. It was the tartlet. But the cheese cake left a lot to be desired. This might just be personal preference for my friend and I and a few other co-workers, but it just didn't sit right with us, and the sauce was very bitter. But the drinks were amazing and the atmosphere and staff were very friendly. So, as a chain, I would say this wasn't their fault at all.

Due to the storm they had water issues but still managed to serve everyone and even kindly gave complimentary drinks even though it was out of their hands. Staff were fantastic, service was brilliant. Most definitely recommend and we will be going back.

Popped in after we did some shopping for Sunday lunch . Greeting by very friendly staff who found us a table as we hadn’t book one . We had a lovely Roast Beef dinner with a good selection of fresh vegetables and homemade Yorkshire pudding . The meal itself was piping hot and delicious ! Finished off with a dessert . Definitely recommend going here for Sunday lunch . All the staff that served us were polite and accommodating . Thank you , we will be back!

After having been let down with a booking on Saturday evening at The Plough on the Green, we called The Two Watermills to see if they could squeeze us in at the last minute. They were full but told us to come on up. On arrival, we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who took us straight to our table and introduced our waiter, Paul. The food was lovely and hot, and the service was quick. Food MUCH nicer than the Plough!! I was really impressed with the change in this place as a couple of years ago it wasn't so great. A huge thank you to Paul, who was friendly and efficient . He couldn't do enough for us. A real credit to The Two Watermills. Definitely will be back very soon!!

Been to the twowatermills a few times with friends and family, always chose this place to go as its very friendly food is amazing and staff very attentive to your needs. For a great atmosphere would definitely recommend.

Have started visiting here and enjoy this comfortable pub. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is really good. I especially love the gammon and fish and chips. Suzie (looked after us tonight) and the rest of the Team provide a great experience.

Myself, partner and two of our kids including a 6 month old, just had the most lovely meal! Only made the booking 40 mins prior to visiting. So accommodating, staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, the service is fantastic! We had a Sunday roast (we had the beef) and it was perfection… probably one of the best roasts I’ve had eating out. The countless times I have been to various pubs/restaurants that charge an absolute fortune for a Sunday roast, only to be disappointed by the quality and taste! Nothings beats a home cooked roast… but this was spot on!! So tasty! The atmosphere is really lovely and cosy and they have lots of little Christmas events coming up! Great place for the perfect family meal, kids and dogs welcome. 10/10
