Very nice restaurant , the food is original and the wine list very assorted. Beautiful place, for couples or for friends ( and for business too).

I had a superb meal in this very pretty restaurant in Haggerston. The atmosphere is warm and inviting ; the service is attentive and efficient without being in any way intrusive. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to recommend an excellent wine. It is the food that is the star attraction. I had read a glowing review of the chef in the Sunday Times and was curious to experience his food for myself. It was a high quality and tasty meal. I will definitely be back !

Had a terrific dinner at Two Lights in London the first night after arriving in that city from a long flight from Australia. The food was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive and we were able to chat with the manager and discovered we had mutual connections through his previous work in Pulp Kitchen in Canberra. The restaurant is a great little space with a good vibe, the clientele was mainly young and engaged and the food was high quality. Dish of the night was the ray. Would definitely visit again if our travels take us to that part of the world in the future.

I was in London for work and my UK team booked Two Lights for a private dinner. It was the best meal I had the entire week (and I dined at several other very good, buzzy restaurants whom shall remain unnamed). The chef at Two Lights very nicely created vegetarian versions of a couple of the set menu selections (like removing anchovy from the veg plate's dipping sauce) to accommodate me, but overall everything was simple, balanced, and perfectly delicious. The use of really fresh ingredients and a deft combination of delicate, but wildly flavorful herbs made me stop and consider each dish I was served, contemplating what the chef might've used, wondering if I could recreate it at home. For the record, I am now obsessed with pickled chanterelles. It was also lovely to see gnudi on the menu, and prepared so perfectly (something I have tried and failed to do at home). It's such a delicate alternative to gnocchi or pasta (don't get me wrong, I love those too). I regret not being able to stay for the dessert—I'm pretty sure that decision is going to haunt me. They also have a wonderful selection of wine and several classic cocktails, the space is warm and inviting, and the staff were the sweetest. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic experience at this cute and quirky neighbourhood delight. We enjoyed several small plates with our tomato water martini / red wine, then attempted to smash our way through a tender and flavourful pork chop // fried chicken w/biscuits. Everything was divine and we wobbled home in a comatose state. Fab service, chilled vibe, GORGEOUS FOOD. Well done team!!

In my opinion, and with my experience of many restaurants in London and around the world, Two lights was rather pricey for the level of fare that was on offer. Yet Another restaurant that does ‘sharing plates’ which is very popular in London at the moment and is getting quite dull. It was very adequate. The pigeon dish was good but not great. The clam dish with chorizo tasted like it had been overpowered by the extra paprika added and wasn’t enjoyable. The highlight was a small but very well selected wine list. Don’t go for the cocktails, they were poor.

I was really impressed by this place. Although the menu seems a little short, I found it hard to choose what to order! The wine list is much longer, and you can tell that they've put thought into the menu. I got a Sauvignon Blanc which was one of the best I've tasted, and my friend got the skin-contact 'orange' wine - an absolute must try if you go here, with a delicious sweet smell almost like candy. The waitress suggested ordering 2-3 small plates to share, then a large plate each - we went with 1 small and 1 large each, and even though I was starving that was more than enough. For starters we had the beef tartare, which was incredible and I could've eaten loads of, and mussels on toast, which wasn't really my thing but still good. Then as mains I ordered the buttermilk chicken and my friend chose the wood pigeon. Hers was presented really beautifully and she really enjoyed it. My chicken didn't look quite as attractive (I'm not sure it's possible to make fried chicken look elegant anyway?) but tasted amazing, and the portion was huge! It came with 3 different gravies: regular, chilli or sunflower seed. I didn't try the chilli one, and I wasn't a fan of the sunflower one, but the regular gravy was delicious and went really well with the chicken. There were also biscuits and butter on the side (in case anyone was wondering why biscuits are being served with chicken, it's an American place so their 'biscuits' are basically scones without sugar). I would've loved to have dessert (the white peach granita looked really good) but we were too full! Food aside, I was really impressed by the service. All the waiters were genuinely lovely and very attentive, clearing away empty plates and glasses ASAP but not hovering around. The place as well is very pretty, with plants hanging around the small bar and fairy lights laced around the bottles displayed in the window. We got there on a Wednesday evening before 7, and although it was quiet to start it filled up nicely with couples and small groups of friends. I didn't see any vegan options and only a couple of vegetarian options, but the waitress did ask us right away if we had any dietary requirements so possibly they're able to cater for this on request. The menu changes often, so it's somewhere you can come back to a few times and not get bored. I'll definitely return soon and have recommended it to all my friends in the area!

Loved this place, great and attentive service (like a level above for this type of restaurant - all the staff come and clear all plates at the same time). All the food was fantastic - just wish we could have had room in our bellies to eat it all! Particularly enjoyed the crab chip and the phenomenal duck dish! 100% can't wait to go back.

I visited two lights with my partner as we live very close by. Ultimately were left a bit disappointed - especially with the “two lights ham” which we thought was similar to something you would buy from the supermarket for a picnic, for a starter course price, this was really poor value. The artichoke was quite fun with the dip but the mains were not worth shelling out for. Otherwise nice place with good service, but we wouldn’t recommend as there are many places close by that offer better bang for your buck (The Frog being one of them)

Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service in Kombination mit echter, weil nicht gespielter Weinkompetenz / sehr erfreulich! Alles in allem ein wunderbarer Abend 3 Gänge / super lecker / super satt/ super happy. Shoreditch at its finest :-)

Excellent food and a well run restaurant with great staff and top service. small plates to share made a great way to start the meal and then we ended up sharing the mains too....good deserts and a varied wine list to cover all budgets. you’ll find many places like this now in London so we are spoilt for choice, I wouldn’t say the best but definitely one to remember if we are in the area again.

The cocktails are nice and the food is fine. The decor and vibe is great. But..... There were at least 6 staff hovering around us. It's so off putting. We were sitted next to the door, literally 2 floor staff standing beside us the entire time. They tried to clear our table twice before we were finished. It wasn't even that busy. Less than 2 seconds after putting down my fork someone was trying to take the plate. Just felt rushed the entire visit. Disappointing, definitely our type of place.

What a great experience! We had so much fun experiencing dish after dish of Ghanian cuisine (the menu that night - it varies). It was lovely getting to know the many people from all over who came together to share supper and wine (and liqueur!) while supporting Doctors Without Borders. Early in the evening we gathered in the parlour and got a chance to introduce ourselves to our fellow guests while the host and her sous chefs were finishing up the cooking. We then shared a large table and dish after dish came out of the kitchen. More than enough for everyone to get their fill. It was a lovely experience and I hope more people will be lucky enough to experience it, too.

This restaurant has set the bar for how Caribbean food can be made, with a twist is how I would describe it The food is made with... love. Took my wife who has never had Caribbean food and she absolutely adored it. The ambience was great, food and drink was on point with presentation a big thumbs up. I would highly recommend.
