Crafty cocktails and very helpful staff.

First alchemist I'd been to and it was lovely. Not very adventurous with my drinks, but it was great to see them all.

Lacking in customers and atmosphere. It's OK and the service is outstanding.

We had a great evening, food was tasty, cocktails were as expected - well presented. The only thing - music is very loud, usually I am not against, but speakers are not well located or smth - music is really bothering.

From beginning to the end an exceptional experience, Daniel, Greta and Alex made our visit feel like a unique experience. Not my first time here but this time was beyond my expectations. The food was delicious and full of flavour, the drinks were quite a performance and the service was the final touch. I recommend it 100% to anyone that want to have quality and quantity from all points of view.

The Alchemist Old Street is the nicest of its chain. The venue appears very elegant and refined, the soft lights and music create a true club effect. The menu is very varied for all tastes and for most of the choices there is a vegetarian option. Personally I chose the bao with chicken which I got in the plant based option, really delicious!! As a side dish I opted for the radicchio in peanut cream, delicious. But now let's move on to the fun... the drinks are really quality and presented one by one by the waiters. I recommend taking the ones with the eye symbol next to them in the menu, as they will come with a small show attached; the real gem of the place! Finally, I renew my compliments to all the staff of the restaurant, truly professional and attentive; special thanks to Magda who took care of us. ❤️

We were attracted in by the little beer cart outside the entrance: it was wonderfull!! The staff the food the vibes, the cocktail and oh my God the oysters drinks were such a treat!! Everything exceeded our expectations of just having a little moretti beer in the sun and we ended up having cocktails food and shots. Well done to the knowledgeable and emphatic staff Magda, Sach and Seb! It was so good we went 2 days in a row! And we will keep coming! Thank you

Great and fun drinks - entertaining to get them from the great bartenders! We used to like their food, but I would recommend you stay away from it. It's really a very nice bar. Grab a meal elsewhere. It was flavourless and not fresh at all. We thought their smores cookie would make up for it... but no, even worse. Though, again, it's an amazing place for drinks!

While we researched this place in advance, we were fortunate that it was located right across the street from our hotel. The atmosphere was fun and the uniqueness of the cocktails, and certainly how they were presented, made the place all the better. If you're in to craft cocktails, we would for sure recommend.

It was surprisingly quiet on a Saturday during the day then it picked up in the evening . A wide variety of cocktails with very friendly customer service. Food was tasty too and the dj was really enjoying his set.

Quirky Shoreditch bar handy for after work get togethers near Old Street tube and convenient for many bus routes. Cocktails, beers, meal and table nibbles on offer many with unusual serving options. Not too busy so fairly easy to get a table if you arrive early. Tasty tempura prawns!

We got here for after dinner drinks. The atmosphere is modern hip with a really great DJ spinning. Cocktails were perfect!!

Quiet night, one member of staff hardly working, all others not working at all. Sat for 15 mins without any kind of acknowledgment, tried at the bar, nothing. At least I was out of the rain for a time. Very disappointing - I’ve enjoyed other Alchemist locations but won’t be trying this one again any time soon.

The man, the myth, the Miko, the highlight of the evening has to be him. Charismatic and super informative, started the evening off with engaging menu debrief and great recommendations! Food was amazing and cocktails too, was awesome to also see the dynamic between colleagues as they interacted with eachother and us as a table, really great experience ☀️

the general manager, took the time to congratulate me on my promotion by reserving the best table in the house and arranging a special appetizer platter with a note of encouragement. Her personal touch was greatly appreciated.

Greta, our server, made my graduation celebration truly special by organizing a surprise toast with my favorite champagne and presenting a personalized card signed by the staff. Her thoughtfulness and professionalism were commendable.

Absolutely terrible experience i am a vegetarian and have been since birth due to religious purposes and i ordered mushrooms and i was given chicken i did not realise and ate it until i was told it was chicken would never go back here again The waiter said no you ordered chicken i said why would i order it if i’m vegetarian and have never eaten it and he was very rude

Disappointing, expensive and poor service . We had the bottomless brunch- should have been £45 but ended up costing £55. The brunch is one small dish and i was starving when I came out. The portion was so small. Very slow with drinks I waited 30 minutes without a drink so not really good for bottomless. But they added £168 service charge to the bill. overpriced, poor value, rubbish service and would not go back. Do not recommend!

Great cocktails and excellent service

Legend by the name of I sinni... long hair served us... and looked after us... and recommended for us. Especially amazing vibes here. Loved every second and felt like I was the only customer despite how busy it was. Fantastic experience and amazing customer service.

Food was below average, drinks overpriced and to top it off they weren’t able to operate the bubbles or the other mechanics for the drinks - the whole gimmick! Very disappointing without this.

I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of The Alchemist Old Street who looked after my daughter last evening after she felt unwell following an after work gathering with her friends. A special mention should be given to Conner and Jesse who took the trouble to call me about my daughter's condition and took care of her until I could pick her up. They have demonstrated grieat kindness and professionalism. Very much appreciated!!

The staff were so good in difficult circumstances. You could see they were doing their best to try and give everyone a good experience. However 20 minutes to order a drink on a bottomless is not what you pay for! So the bottomed is awful value for money but every staff member was so helpful informative and kind. They were running around to make everyone's day special! Mad props to them. Have the brunch. Don't bother with the bottomless

A wonderful place! Great atmosphere, nice vibes. Luigi, the most attentive server we’ve ever had, was great. Tasty food. Drinks were as advertised - a cool show and unique. Catered to my coeliac excelenté. They knew what they were talking about. Truly, they are the alchemists!

We visited London for our annual appointment for our son's at moorfields eye hospital, when looking for somewhere to feed our family. We bumped into the alchemist not too far away from where we was staying. Wow! The food was EXCELLENT and the cocktail was WOW WOW WOW! Not really a drinker (but was celebrating some GREAT news medically) was recommended a cocktail by our fantastic waitress Retza (who after asking why we where celebrating came out with the most divine brownie and ice cream for our children) and was not disappointed. We have very fussy children when it comes to food but they devoured it all, thanks to her help 😊 I would highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area or visiting the old street area of London.

Great bar! Food and cocktails were all amazing! Service was exceptional and all of the staff were lovely, particularly Greta who looked after us for the evening. Couldn’t recommend more highly, had a fantastic evening!

This is a really good place for a date. As it's got some sort of intimate atmosphere and also a bit of entertainment with the drinks. But you can also spend some time with your friends here as there are a few big tables. The cocktails are nice and not expensive considering you get a show with a drink. The nibbles I had were stuffed peppers with the cream cheese. It was very nice, but the portion is a bit smaller than expected. Overall, it is a lovely place to go with someone for a drink to make your eve a bit brighter ✨️

Lots of great cocktails have been taken off the menu and they didn't have the Christmas cocktails food was good service was good and they gave us a table in the bar when they needed the table back

We booked a table of 7 for boozey brunch. We picked this bar due to the 7 drink options and beer choice. When we arrived they didn’t have any beer and had a missing cocktail. With some back and forth with the manager they finally agreed and added a different beer and said they could do the cocktail without some ingredients. When ordering food they then didn’t have any halloumi either for the veggie dishes. After the boozey ended we stayed to get more drinks. The photos attached are the esspresso martinis received. Never have I seen a cocktail froth that big. I asked the staff and she said they shake it more than other places. So I asked for a replacement and she gave me the other photo with liquid missing. Half the drink was gone 🤣 it was £12! Terrible. The final straw was the bill came and they had added £70 extra to our bill. Which we only realised after paying so asked for a refund. They must do this all the time! Would avoid at all costs

Lucky to get a table in a Friday evening. The drinks menu is amazing , the making and presentation of their cocktails is beautiful. Enjoyed the drinks .

We ordered a drink, it came in a very thin glass that broke when I put it on the table. They didn’t want to replace the cocktail and were rude and said « what if you did it on purpose »…

This place is truly fascinating, unlike anything I've ever experienced before. The cocktails here are exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend trying them.

The drinks were served in fun ways and had fascinating combinations of ingredients, but overall a tad too sugary for us. Felt like the menu was more suited to a younger crowd.

Lots of theatrics and great presentation, very interesting combinations of ingredients, we definitely enjoyed our experience but felt most of our drinks were way too sweet.

Kareen is the best chef in the kitchen, make sure she’s cooking up your food. The French steak sandwich and the Korean friend chicken burger is TT

This is a great cocktail bar option for the 30 years plus crowd that prefers a classier less crowded option for a late night cap. Great drinks and music that you can still hold a conversation.

Cocktails were fun but it wasn't busy at all and only managed to get 2 in an hour and a half, felt very slow

As with any Alchemist, the drinks are brilliant and it's always hard to choose which one you'd like to try. Apart from that, other services are available such as nice toilets and multiple plugs around if you're in need of charging things as your phone.

The restaurant itself is very nice, the staff are lovely and helpful. I went here for a bottomless brunch and I would recommend it is good value for the drinks you get. The food was alright nothing wrong with it but I just didn’t like what I got.

We did a cocktail making with Matteo. He was very professional and good fun. We all had a lovely time and hugely recommend the cocktail making for an occasion. Well priced and good drinks!!

It was my second time going there, first time was amazing so I had to go back. I love the atmosphere, great service, live music THE COCKTAILS are the only reason why I love it so much ahahah There is an outside space if you wanna smoke & for me it’s definitely affordable. I recommend it 👍🏽❤️

Good cocktails, but waiters play with dry ice cocktails as if they are children's toys. The waiter with curly long haired brought over a cocktail with dry ice that was shaking and fizzing violently; the cocktail spilled all over my gf and now she still has burns from the dry ice, seems like they take a lot to heal. Train your staff properly!

Don't come here if you want to talk during your meal. Think I need a hearing aid after 45mins in possibly the loudest place in London.

My ticket got lost. They would not give me my Jacket until the end of the night because I am a black British male. The manager literally said she will call security to ask me to wait outside if I ask for my Jacket again. Just for asking 👀. I waited patiently. Would not recommend for a multicultural company party. Less than a star.

4-17-2023 – Late dinner. They were ready to close (their kitchen) and I needed a place to eat. Drink - The Popsicle. Quite a production/show making the drink (see videos) Eat - KARAAGE CAULIFLOWER & PAN-FRIED CHICKEN GYOZA – Both were excellent. A huge selection of very interesting drinks and small bites. Definitely recommend!

Went in for a group cocktail making session and it was awesome!!! The curly haired dude that took us through the session was amazing and made the whole session much more fun! Thanks for the phenomenal experience 🙌

Great service and inventive cocktails. The sec on the peach was one of the best cocktails i’ve ever had. If you like sweet drinks that have a mild alcohol flavor, you’ll really enjoy it. Color changing one was also very good. Expensive but worth it if you’re willing to splurge a little.

Amazing service and food. The cocktail menu is so long and fascinating! We had troubles choosing in a good way, because we wanted to try everything. The waitress explained the menu well and was very attentive. The vibes of the place were really cool. There was a dj. We didn't order a table in advance for 7pm on a week nignt.

We had such an unpleasant experience. It took quite a long time for us to order drinks (we could only order them after we asked the waiter) and it took even longer to get our drinks (we waited 30min for our drinks, even though the table that came after us got their drinks after 5min). We also asked the waiter for some wipes as our table was dirty. He only got back after 15min and also wasn‘t necessarily comforting. The presentation of our drinks (after we eventually got them) was great, but the taste was horrible. The drinks tasted like diluted Tequila to the extent that it was not even enjoyable. The worst part was when we got to pay. The waiter (another one) told us that we have to pay £36 and asked if we want to pay separately (he even asked us what 36/3 is). After we paid, we saw that the total amount was £35.44. Even though it was just a few pence, we were shocked that he just rounded up the final bill without our consent. We left the bar completely disappointed and decided not to come back anymore.

Came here on Saturday and brought my family that visited me from back home. What an experience! We were served by very charming Alex, he was super fun! Great recommendations on food, but the main bit was amazing cocktails! So many flavours and different effects, just wow! My family was blown away. Thank you team for great experience!

My friends and I stopped here for my bday lunch on 12Feb. The food was great, drinks were amazing and the service provided by Gio and the rest of the team was outstanding. Two of my friends wanted their fish cooked longer and the team was very understanding and responsive. Highly recommend it :)

From the moment I first contacted them, their team was incredibly friendly, professional, and responsive. Not only did they provide top-notch customer service, but the quality of their products/services was exceptional. But what really stood out to me was the overall atmosphere of the business. It was clear that everyone there was passionate about what they do, and they all worked together seamlessly as a team. Their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is unmatched, and it was truly a pleasure to work with them.

We had the chicken basket for lunch. As expected, this is a place for drinks and not food. The food is average and the coleslaw was tasty.
