I walked past one day and noticed the cheese toasties looked good. So yesterday after running and lifting weights on the downs I had my excuse to eat one. I had a blue cheese toastie which was delicious. I could have done with some green salad as a contrast, but even without that I had no trouble eating the whole thing. Today at Cheddar I made the mistake of ordering a toastie again. It was nothing like the Two Belly experience. No more cheese toasties for me until I come back to Bristol and visitTwo Belly again!

Following my earlier, somewhat average, review, here's another about a Two Belly offering. Missing the usual scrum-diddly Sunday roast at the nearby Beaufort Arms (it was Easter Sunday), we were strolling down Whiteladies Road at rather a loose end. We hung a right to enjoy one of TB's truly massive range of unusual bottled & canned beers and ciders and was tempted into a cheese toastie each. Mine was the rarebit-with-ham and if you are looking for two slices of sough-dough bread, full of melted cheese-and-ham, hot and fatty and crispy, washed down with an unusual beer or cider, while sitting on a seat, overlooking the footfall and traffic of Whiteladies Road, then look no further! Very filling, very fatty and very savoury! So filling did I find the first of two nicely presented slices that I elected to pop the second in the neat little doggie bag I was given on request - although I have to say that eaten cold, some hours later, it had lost most of its charm - my advice? Eat it all up at the first opportunity!

I popped by F&N the other day, when I learnt that TB's van was going to be parked in the back yard, presumably in an attempt to make up for the recent decamping of Danny's smashburgers a few hundred meters in a southerly direction... Had chips with a scrape of raclette at £8. Now don't get me wrong - the idea of somebody selling cheese, who knows what they're talking about, who is knowledgable and friendly and local, seems to me to be an attractive idea. A visit to the shop up Whiteladies leaves nobody in any doubt that they sell a fabulous range of excellent cheeses, in first-class condition. However, a box of chips, with three small slices of pickle doing their best to masquerade as garnish, with a topping of raclette - regardless of how genereous and good-quality the raclette was - doesn't work for me. It's too plain & simple. A choice of relishes/extras/sides - call it what you like - would make all the difference. Kimchi, maybe or some traditional picalilli... something to add colour and zing to what otherwise is a lot of brown carbs, topped with a lot of brown dairy... I'll say it again - the raclette was generous and tasty - no doubt - but it needs something else to make the box of chipsNcheese different enough to be worth eating, never mind the price. As for the venue, F&N remains an enigma - the staff are super-welcoming, friendly, hard-working and energetic, but they have the odds stacked aginst them - a venue that looks exactly like the garage yard it once was, with one hard-working loo between everybody... the recent move of the long-standing brewer to a brand-new set-up south of the river, allied with Danny's move, making you wonder what is about the organisation that prompts so many people to move on after doing their best to contribute, until seemingly, they've had enough...

So knowledgeable and informative, I ask lots of questions and nothing was too much trouble. Today, I made a purchase of a whole truffle Baron Bigod and oh my, if you've never tried it, please do.... Delicious, creamy, tasty and rich 👌 I'd love to come for an evening cheese and cider tasting too, a wonderful idea.

Lara & Dom are lovely folks. I ordered a beer & cheese gift box for my husband’s birthday and he’s delighted with it! We haven’t sampled the goods yet, but have no doubt that it will be delicious.

Two Belly is fantastic. The service is great, the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They have a great range of cheeses, meats, beers, ciders. Deffinelty worth a visit. I highly recommend their Monty and kimchi toastie! They also do special event evenings, I have been to a sour beer tasting and a cider tasting where all the drinks and paired with a cheese that complements them.

We've been here a few times and keep coming back. The range of beers in the fridge at the back is extensive and it's great to be able to look through them in your own time. The owners are really interested and informative about the cheese and meats. It is lovely to sit and relax and watch the world go by.

I heard about this eatery a few months ago & couldn't help associate the name Two Belly with the worst sort of cheap caff, along the lines of Gut Busta and so on. Pleased to say that I couldn't have been wronger! The place has a pleasant and gentle vibe and if you like cheese bread and beer (and there can be few who do not... Good Old Yeast, eh?) you must do yourself a favour and visit Two Belly. OK it's a bit dear, when you compare prices with supermarket offerings, but to do so is to miss the point. What you are paying for here is the very best cheeses, kept properly and served just so - and a range of beers that if you took your time giving each offering on display the thought they properly deserve, could take you an hour or so to decide exactly which one you want! My and a cheese-mad chum dropped by one Sunday recently and shared a "cheese counter" - 9 slices of cheeses, served up with pickles and bread - and couple of glasses of beer to go with. Can honestly say I was in presence of beauty for an hour... and I don't mean my chum!! The cheeses were in great condition, nicely chosen to give a good range, and served at the perfect temperature; the beer - a saison and an export stout - were a fabulous accompanyment. We paid £20 each and taking into consideration the quality of the cheese and the beer, I would say that cost constituted good value, albeit at a cost I am likely to save for a treat - I'm looking forward to the next excuse to visit!

Visited Two Belly on the 3rd of October. After spending 5 minutes outside reading their menu, we finally decided to go in. A cute little cheese and wine shop on Whiteladies road, which also serves food. Our waiter, who unfortunately I did not ask for his name, was wonderful. I had been studying the menu for about 10 minutes and still hadn't made up my mind. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave very detailed advice. After going with his recommendation, the "Kimchi and cheddar toastie" and the special of the day, which was “Gouda and caramelised onion with paprika” we patiently sat, ready and excited for the food to arrive while sipping on a glass of their house white, cold and crisp. You could smell the toasties before they arrived, four thick slices of golden crispy sourdough, filled with gooey cheese oozing out. The first bite exploded in my mouth, the contrast of the crunchy thick fresh bread and then the generous portion of melted cheese, with the pickled Kimchi was a delight from heaven. I was surprised by how well the kimchi worked in the toastie, as I wouldn’t normally pair Korean flavours with cheese! Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Will be back soon to try their Stilton toastie!

Really great selection of Belgian beers you can't find anywhere else (think rare sours and darks alongside more familiar brews) and some great American IPAs. The prices are fantastic- it's no exaggeration to say you pay double for some in other places. Oh, and there's cheese, but I think the other reviews covered that pretty well ;-)

Amazing place with great hosts, a wide selection of delicious cheeses, cured meats, and beers both local and from around the world. Been a few times now and is always a good time. You pay a premium (it ain't Tesco's finest cheddar after all) but you get quality like you wouldn't believe that is well worth the price. They also run awesome events with other local businesses on a monthly basis, so worth checking in every now and then.
