Twisted Ginger in Hartlepool

We had a great dinner, food was delicious. Thoroughly recommend the hanging chicken! Waitresses very friendly and professional. Lovely decor and atmosphere- will definitely be back!

It was my wifes birthday so I booked a table for two for Suday lunchtime at 3pm . We arrived at 3 pm very hungry and ready for something to eat. Imagine our total surprise to be greeted by a waitress saying " Sorry we have no food left !!! " she said they tried to get in touch with people but we hadn`t left a number ( I wasn`t asked for a number when making the reservation ) Now I don`t think i`m wrong in thinking that a restaurant should cater for the amount of reservations they have. We were left at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon trying to find an alternative ! To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. This is NO WAY TO RUN A RESTAURANT.

our friend suggested here as she said it was beautiful last time, we arrived and staff sat us to a table it wasn’t that busy considering it was a friday night. We got our drinks and our glasses smelt really off like dishwater but anyways we got our food within 20mins my burger was on the smallest wooden board known to man everything just kept falling off the plate, it was incredibly greasy i tried to pick it up and it just slid all over, the chips were like bricks and my friend said there nothing to what they were last time, the waiter asked if we would like any dips so we said yes not realising we would be charged £2 for ketchup and mayo!!! So strange as she the waiter could of stated this, we got 2 courses so choose a desert we both got sticky toffee pudding… the menu should of stated what was inside as i just presumed it was sponge and toffee sauce but i was so wrong it was full of raisins/sultanas,Didnt complement each other i thought. Maybe we hit this place on a bad night or chefs changed but i really dont think i would return :(

This was the third visit and will be the last !!! Again very poor service only 2 staff front of house , waited 40 minutes for food and certain veg missing from some of our plates , the I assume manager was washing plates while customers waiting for plates to be cleared we gave up trying to get desserts a shambles !!

We ate here last Saturday as a group of 6 adults. We had pre- booked a table for 7:30 but when we arrived it was utter chaos with no free tables, dirty tables, food on the floor and only 2 staff on front of house trying to take payment for meals, serve drinks, clear tables and serve food. Utterly ridiculous. We were asked if we wished to sit upstairs and have drinks until our table became available so we agreed. After 20 minutes nobody had even asked us if we would like a drink so we went down to try and order them ourselves. It was still carnage and we ended up moving tables and chairs ourselves to create a table for 6 and helping to clear dirty plates and glasses. The waitress could not have been more apologetic and appreciate it was not her fault, but management or owners of this establishment need to realise this level of hospitality is totally unacceptable if you wish customers to return. We eventually got to eat at about 9pm which was far too late and we had to try and push our taxi back. The food was very nice when it arrived but the total chaos has somewhat put us off.
