Sambuca in Hartlepool

First time since the new layout enjoyed our meal and staff sre the best.

Fab 👌 beautiful food, great atmosphere and the staff are exceptional. The main waiter who served us was hilarious, he was very friendly, and a credit to sambuca.

Great staff & lively clientele. Food is excellent for Hartlepool but do bring your own defibrillator if you’re not used to the profane levels of refined carbs typical of the local Teeside cuisine.

£29.95 fillet steak , no mushrooms, onion rings, tomatoes, steak and sauce only! Chicken dish, no veg available, 3 x 2 course kids meals, no dessert offered. Plates cleared when still eating, and three near misses knocking drinks over

1st time in Sambuca's... Absolutely beautiful meal Steak done exactly as I wanted it, Partners meal was excellent, as were the meals our 2 guests had. Serving staff were impeccable.. Will be going back

Walked out ..that's a first. Staff asked us what we wanted to drink..I said a drink menu would help. Ordered drink had to say again what we wanted lady served us was rushing. Had to correct dink order.. Then received drink order, and she rushed off. Wrong order. Caught their attention and told them..that order was wrong..no apology..then wine that was wrong whisked away by another staff member, most probably to whoever it was for??. It wasn't massively busy, and had only told staff member what I we wanted to drink a minute beforehand.. We walked out because of the rush that staff member was in, thinking if they can't get a simple drink order right, we didn't fancy getting a meal order wrong.. Manager come over to ask if everything was okay I replied no ..and we walked out. ...we have had some great meals in here in the past ..but the attitude of server and rushed service was not good..thankfully the wine that was not ours had not been touched by us and god know who ended up with it, as it disappeared faster then a magian pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

We have been surprised by the quick organising table for us. Friday evening and no booking is required reservation. I only visited Harpool for pleasure. Very good and professional service. Thank you again for making my time excellent.

You really can't beat Sambuca for service, quality and value..our favourite place

Been a while since I visited but really disappointed after yesterday’s visit. Quality of food has declined as well as the service.

Absolutly loved the food we brought our family for my partners birthday. He couldnt get enough of the burger and the chicken kiev was outstanding. Kids loved their meals now this is the place they want to go instead of our usual place

Food wasn't great, prawns had a funny taste, staff nice, first time I've been and people had been telling me how cheap it was. I didn't find it cheap, £19 for a chicken and prawn dish with chips, maybe because it was a Sunday, will try again in the future

Excellent service ,food was delicious

Food was great as was the service Music was over the top loud and ruined the vibe and ability to talk to your dinner mates. Lighting was also too bright. They need to work out are they a restaurant or a club. I wouldn't go back on the account of the music being way too loud (and often cr@p song choices)

What a beautiful restaurant. The owner was so lovely, warm & welcoming. He had time to speak with all his customers. His staff were all very professional, polite, courteous & well dressed too.

Bloody great scran, decent price. Bit rowdy in the atmosphere for my typical liking, I prefer dimmer and subtler, had the likes of Ed Sheeran remixes blaring in here but that's just preference and not time ruining. Will for sure be back ✨

We booked for a party of 11 , food was delicious and all served together . The staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them . We had a lovely night for my granddaughter s 21st birthday. Everyone sang happy birthday & she got a free shot . Definately will be returning.

Service was excellent and the food was ok. Nicely renovated inside, definitely worth a visit for a nicely priced pizza/pasta.

The food was decent but the prices they charge doesn't justify what you get. Found the service to be relatively lack luster also. Most likely won't be visiting again.

I love the food here. Service is exceptionally quick. Usually, you can grab a table without booking in advance. Very reasonable prices, too. Update - special shout out to Vicky tonight, who was absolutely brilliant in a difficult situation. She went above and beyond to ensure that my daughter and I were looked after. We have visited this restaurant for many years and never experienced any issues, we absolutely love the food here and the service we recieved was exceptional. A nice little Italian restaurant just a short walk from the Marina. The service was good and the potato skins were delicious. The rest of the food was fairly average however. The restaurant was busy but still had a nice ambiance about it. The waitstaff were very efficient and friendly. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Lovely place to eat out for a celebration 🍾 staff make a fuss of every birthday, engagement, etc. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Can be quite noisy at times but would still recommend.

Our 1st time here for our granddaughter's 18th and it definitely will not be the last! We absolutely loved everything about this place, from the warm welcome to the happy attentive staff & a lovely ambiance and last but most important of all the food was amazing! Make sure you are really hungry when you visit sambuca's because the portions are ENORMOUS and the prices are so reasonable you will wonder if they have missed something off the bill!

Wow, wow, wow. First time I have been to sambuca since we moved to Hartlepool. The food was gorgeous and the staff were lovely. The portion sizes were massive. Will definitely be going back there. Thanks for a great service.

Food was okay nothing you couldn’t cook at home. Atmosphere was good and the staff were very friendly and attentive though.

Been here quite a few times always busy but always top quality food and a great atmosphere. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. Pizzas and pastas are great and they even do a great roast dinner on a Sunday

Always heard great things but it was my 1st visit today, i was in two minds on the sunday lunch or the hot shot parmo, i decided on the parmo and it was lovely. will deffo be back and hopefully try the sunday lunch. great staff, welcoming and friendly! nice atmosphere.

Excellent food and service as usual and great value for money. However, the volume of the music is quite annoying when a lot of their customers are families, friends, and couples that want to enjoy the food and chat.

We did enjoy our drinks and food, the atmosphere was very nice. Only one thing did let it down- we asked for a bill twice (10-15min from first time to another), second time they gave us a bill and left us again to wait (we were ready to pay)...so after 15min we asked can we pay...so it feels very strange, like why they are keeping us waiting? Knowing that they were not busy at all.

Food and Service as always was exceptional. The music was a little loud when we visited on christmas eve, we couldn't have a conversation and the waitress couldn't hear what we wanted to order it was that loud.

It's a great little place n always made welcome. Staff are great n food is always fantastic. Prices are good too. Can't go wrong.

Food was very good and reasonably priced. Beer selection was very poor but cocktails made do for a lunch drink. I'm dropping two stars in service as the waiter splashed sizzling hot sauce in my friend and barely apologised. I'm also dropping a star on atmosphere as I got Whammagedoned during my meal. Joking aside though that sauce was really hot and it should have been taken seriously and reported into the accident book, busy or not.

Walked in around 5pm and were warmly welcomed by the very happy and energetic staff, sorted with our drinks and left to decide our meals, after ordering our meals that were produced soon after, being home cooked by the chefs in the open kitchen see photo lol, thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful and we both chose Linguini Marinara and were not disappointed, tasty with some fine seafood together with a side of garlic bread I'm afraid we couldn't manage desert but never mind we will try next time we visit, soon I hope, had a wonderful bottle of Zinfandel and all in for just over £40 bargain thanks for having us, we were thanked for choosing this restaurant by who i think was the owner he took a liking to my " Old fashioned hat lol" we liked that as there is quite a few restaurants to choose from on this street took a couple of photos including chefs cyas again soon thanks 😀 Bob Vickers

Went here especially as we took a 1 year old it was a very pleasant experience, no fuss or bother food was delicious service was great.

On entering we were made very welcome and offered a table straight away (I would prebook at weekends as I know it gets very busy) the menu is very varied and has different options to suit different budgets, from sharing surf side platters priced at £85 to a nice sized garlic bread at £3. Drink options are also fantastic and suited to everyones taste and pocket. I opted for the cheesy garlic bread to start and the hotshot parmo for main. The garlic bread lives up to the hype of the locals and is outstanding in taste. The hotshot parmo was OK but the chicken was a little dry. Overall this is the best restaurant I've visited in the North east yet and will be a regular customer going forward. Hope to try the sambuca just off the a19 in the near future.

We celebrated my Mum’s 80th Birthday last night at Sambuca’s. We were a big table of 20 people, friends and family members. The staff and manager could not have done more to make sure we had a fantastic evening. The service was 100%. The food was exceptionally good. All guests were served their food at the same time, which was hot and well presented. Great value for money and nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you once again. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Table booked for 5, stuck us on the table just inside doors on left, not really big enough, apart from that, spot on!

We have tried most of the restaurants in the Sambuca 'chain', but this is our fave. Food is consistent, service speedy and the waiting staff and management remember you and are uber friendly. Even during the cost of living crisis, this is our way to enjoy a night out without breaking the bank. An evening steak special of £25 for three courses is excellent value...and it's still cooked beautifully and served by staff who really care.

Was recommended to go there by a friend. Excellent service, wait staff were very kind and helpful. Food, especially the soup, was lovely. We had the dinner special and it was great value for money. Thank you so much.

Great place to eat, always packed.

Ordered beef stroganoff, choice of meat ,chose fillet. Not convinced it was fillet, tasted ,chewed and cut more like braising steak it was not a good meat,was informed by a member of staff that it was a new chef and he may have over cooked it,again not convinced, it was on the table about 35mins of placing order..I'm a regular steak eater .but not here. My partner had very hot chicken ,was tasty although a little overdone on the top, the chicken skin could have been a bit crispy ,it might have been although covered in sauce may have softened it.. The staff were friendly,so tipped.

Would be a 0 star if possible. Overall customer service was was so far below par I thought the waiters were scared of human interaction. Bald manger was a example to follow. I’m regards to the food it was greasy and terrible I only ordered some loaded fries and the portion was abysmal. And they tried to charge for a full pizza and then claimed it was a big portion. Wouldn’t feed it to the dog just paid and left because it was like talking to a toddler who’s scared to ask for some ice cream from all parties. If yous need some staff training on how to have a bit confidence and personality message me back I can help that. 0/10 poor

Talk about not being customer orientated in their customer services approach. Wanted to purchase a surprise voucher for a colleague in hartlepool who works for my company in the area, however, due to living a long distance away I am unable to pick up a voucher directly from them (over 300 miles away!). They wouldn't send in post or email a PDF. Directors of Sambuca I would seriously sort this attitude out as we know how catastrophic such an approach can have! I put down the phone feeling very frustrated and annoyed. It's not hard to post a voucher or email something over, maybe only a few moment out of someone's day :(. Would appreciate at least some sort of response to compensate for this level of service you have just provided me.

Just popped in as early evening after dog walk on the beach and didn't want to be cooking on getting home. Lovely meals for both of us and not really that expensive. Would recommend and will also go there again.
