One of my favourite Indian restaurants. I love the vibe of the place. It's quite small and has an authentic and almost antique feel to it. The restaurant has been around since 1981, so it's absolutely tried and tested. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great. I've eaten here a few times over the years and it's never disappointed.

We ordered a takeaway from their site. Meal was hot, fresh and tasty. Prepared on time and with a good portion. Highly recommend the lamb chops starter.Very good meal.

Twickenham tandoori, an indian GEM. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each one a masterpiece in its own right. I savored rich flavors of their chicken tika masala which perfectly complemented the nan. The King prawn tawia was a revelation, a testament to their mastery of traditional technique. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure every guest had a memorable experience. They don't actually open at 5 its for deliveries, they actually open at 5.30 a little annoying when you're there to eat. I also rang in advance another time to find out if they can change the recipe to accommodate a vegan member of my party and they just hung up on me When the moons have aligned and managed to get some food at the restaurant it is pretty good just the service seems to pretty unhelpful.

I have ordered many takeaways from Twickenham tandoori but tonight really shocked that we found a piece of metal and a hair in our takeaway tonight. Phoned the restaurant and all they could say was because we ordered via Uber we need to complain to them. Utterly disgusted with the response and the lack of seriousness that has been taken to this issue. Guys this is a real environmental health issue - take it seriously please. Update 30/12 in response to TT response. The hair is most definitely brown/black and the wire for clarification is silver! When I phoned I did not ask for fresh dishes or a refund and have not asked this from Uber either who have a record of my correspondence and have assured me they are going to investigate this issue, as you so vehemently directed me to them on the night claiming it was not your problem. The one thing in the food industry which is paramount is alien objects in your food, you guys failed on this, please recognise, take accountability and address. I don’t want refunds or alternative dishes, I just want to make sure future customers do not have the same repulsive experience we did.

We've tried Twickenham Tandoori many times before and always liked the dishes. However last time will be the last time. When finding a metal wire (seriously!) and a hair in the takeaway, we gave them a ring... they said it wasn't their problem as we had ordered through Uber! They implied we were making it up and said it had nothing to do with them. The atrocious customer service was really the worst. They ruined a Christmas Eve meal with not a single apology but rather an argumentative chap showing no care to reputation or health and safety *edited in response to Twickenham Tandoori... to suggest we were asking for free dishes is outrageous and lie! The hair is definitely dark brown / black but don't worry if you want to dispute who it belongs to because we've kept both the hair and the wire to pass onto environmental health. We were regular visitors of Twickenham Tandoori. Your response is shocking.*

Walked in for table with a group of people in a match day, some of the group were late but still refused to serve us. After 5 minutes of unneeded rudeness, we were escorted out like a bunch of teenagers. After living in twickenham for nearly 29 years I’ve never seen such a shocking customer service since McDonald’s was on the high street.

A good "classic" curry house. Not surprisingly it's usually pretty busy. Well worth a visit.

The food here is so good that I can fault any dish and would completely recommend you visit and try out this place out. Ordered food online, arrived late cold and instead of king prawn korma, I received chicken korma. I called them only to be spoken very rudely and the phone put down on me. I thought I would try somewhere new, very disappointed. Can't believe how rude they are.

Great food, so it’s a real shame I won’t be returning due to their awful customer service. I called to let them know one of our dishes had not been delivered, and was told it wasn’t their problem and the Uber drive had probably eaten it! When I told them it also wasn’t my problem, and ultimately it’s their restaurant and reputation so they should send another, they shouted at me and told me they weren’t bothered if I returned to their restaurant. This is not how a customer should be treated, the staff need to review their attitudes.

Been going here for years yet tonight left me feeling slightly ripped off. It pains me to write this as I have had many a decent night here. But some of the old school techniques of scrapping the extra few quid out of a punter has raised its ugly indian head again. First of all a dhansak is a dhansak regardless of the pan it is presented in...and you insult me by a load of rubbish in explanation so you can charge me an extra £3... Then on closer scrutiny of the final bill you charged me £6 more for a starter... Bolt onto that the service charge based on the above figures you attempted to rip us off an extra £10+ .shame on you. Food is good don't get me wrong, and life is difficult for any business, and that includes mine so your not unique. So when I go out with my partner to spend my hard earned money I certainly don't expect to have to check my bill....i trusted this establishment, but I now have my doubts, back to the old days of examining the bill for the hidden extras.. Shame on you. Check your bill folks....and don't be afraid to question it....

Tasty food, great service and nice atmosphere. The team accommodated us despite being very full prior to a game at Twickenham. They were all friendly and treated us like valued guests, were always prompt with attending to us and checked in throughout to ensure we were happy with our food. The curry was the highlight and was super tasty. The fit out is charming and creates a nice atmosphere. Definitely top of my list when I’m next in Twickenham! Highly recommend.

This Tandoori Restaurant is located in a beautiful part of Twickenham. The previous night we ate in another restaurant close by which was not a very enjoyable experience. The Twickenham Tandoori Restaurant is probably one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever eaten in. We were brought poppadoms with a lots of delicious dips. We ordered a variety of dishes & a few onion bahjis. The food was absolutely fantastic, packed with flavour & had obviously been cooked from fresh ingredients. We ordered beers which were ice cold & not expensive. The owner came out & sat with us for a while. Have to say this is one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. The quality & flavour of the food, the ambience, staff were exceptional & this is not an expensive place to eat!

From the moment I asked for a table for two on a very busy night the waiter quickly found a table. Two Ice cold Cobras appeared we ordered our food Which came without any fuss from the Warm fresh poppadoms and great sauces to the very tasty curries my wife and I had ordered the lemon rice is the best I’ve ever had like I said Great food Great service great place Very happy customers James and Sally Date of visit 22.06.23

Have been coming here for quite a few years now. However, the staff are getting more and more hostile and are just a bit unfriendly generally. Annoying when a service charge is forced upon you. Between two of us we had two mains, two naans, a side, a rice, four poppadoms and two pints which came to near enough £60. It seemed very overpriced for what it was. The food wasn’t too bad (a chicken rezella and a chicken balti jalfrezi) but wasn’t worth the money. I’d probably return if pushed in the area, but certainty wouldn’t go out of my way. Also beware of their ‘special’ overinflated prices in their match day menu if there’s a big game on.

Food and price was alright. However, dine in prices by item are different comparing to menu online. Not saying they are wrong for doing this, but there is no way for customer to reconcile if the bill was correct.

We’ve been coming to twickenham since the 90’s This is always a great place to dine if you can get in. Really good food, quick service and great lads too What’s not to like.

Tried this place on the off chance, actually I got recommended it, so I tried it and, I’m glad I did, the owner and employees are very nice people, the whole meal including the dinning experience was extremely pleasant and the food was wonderful, I don’t live in Twickenham but I will be back again very soon. Very busy as it was Valentines Night, despite that the service was very good, the food was excellent one of the best meals I have had in an Indian Restaurant ( Chicken Korai ) Thank you very much, we will be back very soon.

So disappointed. We should have forseen the service we received where our welcome.e was to be "shooed" by a member of staff through the window . Another member of staff then ushered us to a table. Poadoms were quickly delivered with dips. Mediocre food was served. Serviettes were dumped on the table upon request. Water was eventually served after four times of asking . Staff were extremely abrupt with us. I have never experienced such behaviour . We are business people and two are hospitality managers and were flabagasted at our treatment So imagine our shock that the restaurant adds a £18 service charge stealthily Needless to say we opted no opt from this. We shall never be returning and certainly will be recommending that others avoid Twickenham Tandoori

Just had a take away from here. Fantastic service, very helpful making sure food was vegan. Food was so delicious, very fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this place for a great curry.

Disappointing because it was closed. I have had Twickenham Tandoori recommended to me a couple of times by friends who eat there on rugby match days. We had a booking for lunch on 27/12/22. Unfortunately the big rugby match at Twickenham was cancelled due to the train strike. I totally understand that, on what was consequently a quiet lunch time, they decided not to open. That’s sensible. However, we received no notification that the place was not opening. As well as missing out on what I’m told is a good curry, it also inconvenienced us as we were meeting people there. Of course we just went to a pub down the road (and had horribly dry fish & chips) but I feel that Twickenham Tandoori should have contacted us to inform us they would not be open. Anyway, I do hear good things & I shall certainly try the restaurant out next time.

Six of us went for dinner last week at the Twickenham Tandoori and it was really enjoyable. The food and service was excellent and everyone had a great evening. To be honest, it’s not the smartest restaurant around but I quite like the retro look as it reminds me of eating out in the 60s and 70’s! Overall it was good very good and we look forward to returning in the new year.

Traditional British Curry House in good location on the very pretty Church St. Booked a table for 8pm on a busy Friday evening and although starters arrived quickly, we did not get our mains until 21:30. Management did accept that this was too long and a few round of drinks was provided. Food was good.

Food was very bland. Bad value for money and awful customer service. When only half our food got delivered I had to deal with an incredibly arrogant man who went about lecturing me on how it wasn't their problem. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Went with my family good food but the bald waiter old man with glasses hit the glass hard at the table and nudged / verbally rude to my daughter and son of 8 and 6. He needs to get sacked.

Wow 5/5 nice restaurant we had family dinner there everyone were nice friendly too.. Restaurant for my wheelchair was very tight on entering even though it was tight I found a way to get though their door the food was value for money etc.. People were also nice I would recommend this place.. Nice friendly food brilliant to.. We were allowed to bring our own birthday 🎂 cake which was nice and take food home aswell... I've been going to Twickenham Tandoori with friends and family for more than 10 years now. The food is reliably excellent, the atmosphere is typically buzzing. This is where people want to go on a Friday night after they've been for a few drinks further up Church Street. In summertime you can dine in the picturesque street outside, in wintertime you're cosy indoors. Well served by excellent staff. I will keep going to this place as long as its doors remain open. It is fantastic and I love it. I'm most certainly not alone.

Extremely poor customer service and experience which negates any food quality

The menu wasn't marked with allergens. The waiter was happy to help but said the samosas are gluten free which, from my experience at other restaurants, knew usually aren't so was doubtful of his input in general. Hygiene was a BIG concern as the waiter serving us was constantly picking his teeth with his fingers while walking around the restaurant. He also picked his nose after a vaping break outside :(. Not very appetising, I must say. He also decided to ask me to show him my phone to compare to his phone (which is from the same brand), and touch me on my shoulder which I felt was strange and I didn't feel comfortable with. The biryani and tandoori were really good. I would give the poppadoms a miss as the oil they're fried was old.

On of our favourite local spots, amazing food, great service and they always make you feel at home. We almost never go to any other restaurant for Indian cuisine.

The food here is really good. The waiting service was nice - however we went on a night where it was not too busy and the staff stood over our table for a while and it was quite uncomfortable.

Ordered 2 poppadoms and got 4. Ordered 1 beer and a small coke, got 2 beers, sent one back and got large coke which is more expensive. Sat and ate poppadoms, waiting to have our orders taken. 30 mins later, we were still waiting. Found a waiter and gave him £20 for what we had and left. Absolutely awful service, on a night when they were not even particularly busy, thursday!

We are new to area and wanted to try something new. We sat outside. The service was slow but eventually got drinks and pompodoms. The main order was 45 mins later. No napkins, incorrect orders. However the worst was the mains. We ordered a bhuna, rogam Josh and jalfrezi. All 3 were incredibly salty. Not a extra taste of salt, like a pot of salt had been spilt. I've travelled the world and it's the worst Indian I've ever had

A fantastic little venue that is really cosy and houses some fabulous artwork of Sylhet, Bangladesh. It’s charming in appearance and serves some excellent tasteful dishes. I really enjoyed my time there and loved the friendly staff. It’s a real treasure that’s a great find in the heart of Twickenham.

Sorry I think the food is very average. I had a madras that tasted like Pataks jar. I honestly wish I hadn’t eat there..

Visited a couple of weeks ago on bank holiday Monday. They had only just opened so very quiet. But within 10 minutes of us being seated there was a constant stream of motorcycle delivery men filing in to collect takeaways. The staff were so busy dealing with them, the service at our table was sporadic and rushed. Food was ok but definitely wouldn’t return. Just felt like we were eating in a takeaway. Restaurants really need to sort this out

A great atmosphere, food was incredible, service brilliant.....lost a couple of stars as a waiter at the end of the evening hacked, spat on the floor and wiped it into the carpet with his shoe! I don't believe he thought it was quite so obvious. Unbelievable let down for such a great restaurant.

Popped in early saturday evening as we fancied a curry after a day out walking in Twickenham. Served quickly with starter and drinks, main course piping hot and very good along with one of the best nan breads i've had. Would visit again.

Slow service on an early Saturday evening Sat at the front of the restaurant. Drinks took ages , starters were great. But mains were cold on arrival and over an hour to arrive. We had been forgotten ? Second drinks never arrived , so cancelled them at the bar when we finished the cold mains. Motorbike couriers were constantly in and out of the front door , it was ridiculous. Cold night so constant draft. Disappointing and poor customer service

Excellent curry here, depending on what you have of course. The Balti Dhansak is very good. Service is good and the staff are friendly. A smaller restaurant so can be a little cramped, but worth it for the food!

Really good food, good service, good value. I recommend the Bengali fish dishes which are absolutely delicious.

Very poor meals for 2 out of four who ate. Some staff very off hand and rude. Do not go if you are not prepared to wait while they service the many takeaway customers. Certainly wont be going back.

This has been a go to place in Twickenham for over 20 years that I have lived in the area. The food is consistently delicious and very tasty. Well cooked and not too greasy. The waiting staff are always very attentive and helpful. It was good to see how busy they were as we should all support local businesses ans help them thrive once more in the community.
