Sin duda uno de los puntos calientes en el mercado del condado. Este vendedor siempre tiene una cola interminable para sus fresas. El personal es rápido y eficiente. Las fresas sabían muy bien tal cual, pero con la capa de chocolate, era encantador.

So gutted this place has been forced to shut because the Borough Market trustees have decided to take away the restaurant licence. Idiot decision in my opinion. Lovely story of vegetables, locally sourced, and great advertisement for Borough Market. Both times we have been and enjoyed the tasting menu and it has been faultless. The signature onion dish is...mmmmmmmm....so delicious! Every course is meticulous in detail and taste. Such a shame that BM Trustees are probably thinking of their own pocket rather than in the best interest of the market. Thank you to Tomas and team for an amazing culinary experience. Wiahing you all the best for the furure. Stay awesome!

Visited for my father’s birthday and possibly one of the best meals I’ve had! Three courses of heaven. Turnips comes at a cost but you need to the price aside, there’s a saying you get what you pay for and that certainly applies here!! Your taste buds will have an absolute party. The staff are incredible. Very friendly and explain every dish to you. Have a question? They will answer it. The setting is very quirky, at the back of Turnips market. Nestled underneath London Bridge you can hear the trains leaving the station which just adds to the charm. The outside heaters mean you don’t feel the cold. Highly recommend Turnips. You have to experience at least once, although after one visit you will want more.

First thing you say is the food here is very good and it’s a really quirky and unique dining experience being in a fruit and veg stall in the market. So why such a low score you might ask? Well, unfortunately there was only one other table of diners so obviously the ambience was not great. Rather than being quirky it felt slightly odd. I would put that down to being the Saturday before NYE. Nobody’s fault. Second issue is the wine. We had the wine pairing and whilst all the white options were decent they were a bit samey. Now the red that came with venison needs a rethink. A very young thin tasteless barbaresco. Just did not work. Barbaresco should but this is far too young to do a very nice dish justice. Service throughout was very nice and friendly which it should be since we were the only people dining. However, as we were eating desert the open kitchen was shutters down with the chefs disappeared into the closed market. Now I understand if you have nobody to cook for then close the kitchen but maybe a thanks for coming or something? It was a 7.30 table so not late by the time-we’d finished. Biggest problem here though is price. £1000 for the 4 of us. That’s at least 1* michelin pricing. Foods up there but the rest is not.

An excellent lunch in an amazing covered-outdoor space. I had the Scallops and the Iberico pork, both of which were wonderful. The Clementine tart and ice-cream dessert was good but not outstanding. All the dishes are on the small side but I left feeling I'd had a substantial and very special meal. The setting is rather fabulous, sitting behind the fruit and veg stalls overflowing with a huge variety of produce. It was pretty cold when I went, even with their heaters but come prepared and you'll be fine.

The first task is to find the place. If you are familiar with Borough Market (near London Bridge) it's easy as this place is based in one of the retailers inside it called Turnips. That was a surprise to me as my friends had arranged the reservation and I hadn't realised the stalls doubled up as restaurants. It's a quaint idea but one that ultimately doesn't work for me. The market is covered and this place is not on the outside but you are still sitting in an half-open environment. As the colder parts of Autumn approach they use gas heaters. This means you are alternating between being a bit hot and bit cold for the whole meal. The trains rumble frequently above and that's not a distant reminder you're near the station, it's very noisy and intrusive. The restaurant is a bit bare bones, there's no cloakroom. We started with cocktails, I'm no expert there but my friends enjoyed theirs. I'm not sure if there was a choice but we were on the a la carte menu. The bread with some form of whipped butter with garlic is excellent. Onions in broth with brioche was also great. The pork main was good. Half a small clementine tart was very good but puzzling as to why it needed to be a half, the accompanying ice cream was adequate. Food was 74 pounds (without service) and portions were consistently too small for me. This place has Michelin star prices without the environment common to the majority of those restaurants. Rioja wine was inoffensive, but I've been to Spain recently and had better for 4 EUR a glass in an expensive city. There were occasional wafts of an unpleasant smell. I thought at the time this was body odour but reading another review it's possible it originates from the drains. Whatever it was, it did not add to the dining experience. The location is an interesting idea with some initial appeal and one worth evaluating but the answer for me is a firm NO, this is not a suitable place for a restaurant, fine dining or otherwise. It might work as a cheap place to start out run like Daniel Rose's original Spring restaurant. This may please those want to go somewhere quirky but for the rest of us there are plenty of pleasant places in London, many with good food, some with good prices.

I am appalled to have had such a negative experience at Turnips. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were met with nothing but hostility and rudeness from the staff. We then at the menu and were shocked to see that the prices were so exorbitant. A bottle of water cost £10! We couldn't believe that the restaurant would charge such a ridiculous price for something so basic. After looking at the menu for a few minutes, we decided that there was nothing on it that we wanted to order. We informed the waiter of our decision and asked to leave. However, the waiter told us that we would have to pay a "no show" fee. We were incredulous. We had never heard of such a thing before. We explained to the waiter that we are in front of him but don't care for the food or prices, and that we should not be charged a fee for leaving. However, the waiter refused to listen to us and insisted that we be charged the fee. We were so angry that we demanded to speak to the manager. We could see the manager in the open kitchen, but he refused to come out and speak to us. After several minutes of arguing with the waiter, the manager finally came out and confronted us. The manager was even more rude and dismissive than the waiter. He argued with us for several minutes, insisting that we had to pay the fee. We finally convinced him to let us go without paying, but we left the restaurant feeling completely disgusted by the experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The food was overpriced and the staff was rude and unprofessional. There are many other restaurants in London that you don't need to settle for this one. I would also like to add that I have read other reviews of Turnips and many people have had similar experiences. Not to mention the loud train overpass. The constant noise of the trains was so overwhelming that it was impossible to have a conversation. I am surprised that this restaurant is still in business.

An awful (and very expensive) experience! My father booked this restaurant as he had been 4 times before, and has always told me how great the sharing plates are. He ordered us both a drink for when I arrived. When I sat down, we realised the menu was totally different to what was advertised online and the sharing plates no longer existed. There was only one meat option which was pork (I don't eat pork) and there were no fish options. The waiter came over and we asked if there was anything he could do, and he said no. So we said we would go elsewhere for our meal (as it was a special occasion and there was nothing on the menu we liked). The waiter told me that we could only finish our drinks if we pay a minimum of a two-course meal (which I was totally shocked at), so we said it is fine we will leave. So he said that's fine and we left the restaurant without finishing our drinks. My father then received a £130 charge on his card. I am so upset about this. We didn't even have one drink!! We were in the restaurant for about 20 minutes and it was totally empty, so clearly the restaurant needed to make money, hence the absurd charge. I will NEVER be returning. Do not go to this restaurant - they will scam you!

Shocking! Booked a table with my daughter. Dined at tuneups 4 times before and they have recently changed from a sharing menu and as we didn’t like the food we decided to leave but were t allowed to finish our drinks and threatened with a £65 surcharge without even ordering anything. We left and then found a £130 debit on my account. What an absolute disgrace!

Turnips is one of the best restaurants in London. I have now had dinner here twice and lunch once. I took a small group here for a late dinner. Everything was outstanding. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Literally excellent. If we had a complaint it is the wine program. The extensive wine list is missing several wines that you expect in a restaurant of this caliber. You expect an English still wine (like Kit's Coty Chardonnay from Chapel Down), a dry riesling from Alsace, gruner veltliner from Austria and a chablis or white burgundy from France. It is a little unusual not to have some or all of those wines on the wine list. Also, the restaurant seemed to be missing a sommelier or dedicated wine steward. Our waiter did not have answers to a couple of basic questions about the wines that were on the wine list. Having ate here for lunch and dinner I can it is almost like two separate restaurants. At lunch you may or may not get an ala carte menu. If you like people watching go for lunch since the stalls at Borough Market are open. It is quite the people watching show. At night for dinner the menu is a tasting menu. The kitchen is accommodating for anyone who needs substitutions because they are pescatarian, vegan, etc. Since the stalls are closed at night the vibe is much more intimate and chic. I would pick dinner for a romantic meeting and lunch for a solo meal or a meal with friends. All things considered, Turnips is highly recommended. I will return.

The pros : original setting, set in a vegetable stall of Borough market, and right below the railway. Onion was the best dish of the set menu. The cons : the industrial atmosphere can become overbearing after some time (particularly the constant noise of the trains). Prices are on the high side. Wine list wasn’t correct vintage wise, but the staff kindly offered us 2 glasses of wine. Service was a bit slow towards the end.

What a gem. Fabulous. I was so surprised walking through a very packed Borough Market just to find this fantastic restaurant. We we're treated to the lunchtime tasting menu . Every bit of it absolutely top quality, beautifully presented, surpassed only by the depth of flavour in every dish. From the generous sourdough with the black garlic butter to what is the best dessert I've had anywhere in the world. Pistachio sponge with a chocolate ganache finished with sharp, sweet black currant sorbet. Simple, humble ingredients, but made to sing by the phenomenal chefs in the semi open kitchen. This will be top of the list of restaurants to re visit when next time we're in London.

Not only they sell different types of mushrooms but they also serve cooked wild mushroom risotto this is a winner dish, there is always a queue in this place so be prepared to wait before getting your food. The risotto costs £7.50.

Avoid this place at all costs. They do not wash their dishes properly so there was grease and dirt all over the utensils. Also heard the poor staff being sworn at several times while I was waiting for my risotto. Risotto was clearly not fresh...

The mushroom risotto topped with mushroom and cheese was delicious. One of the nicest risottos I’ve had in awhile. It’s worth the wait!

Instead of coffee, we decided to have some of the hot juices on offer, which were perfect for a cold day. They were extremely tasty and great for the price. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommended the pressed sandwiches with leeks and red onions. They are so good. Cappuccinos are wow, no need sugar!

Visited with friends looking for a snack whilst going round Greenwich Market . The best cheese and onion toasted sandwich and coffee in a basic setting with inside searing. It was good to support small local businesses and the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

We came across this place in a quest to find an alternative to Starbucks- both in order to support independent retailers and avoid the long queue at Starbucks. Great service, ambience (especially if you like rock music) tasty samples and great coffee. They also do...

First time to Turnips. Coffee good but cakes poor. A burnt chocolate brownie and a bakewell tart with no taste of almond. Most odd.😮 Reasonably priced in fairness but for a treat and quality try the Argentinian round the corner. Lacks atmosphere here sadly. Only...

The coffee here is consistently outstanding. The cakes and pastries - brownies, bakewell, almond croissants - are well above average. The open and closed sandwiches are very good quality - avocado or tomato bruschetta, toasted cheese. This is in a corner of Greenwich Market with...

Unfortunately it was very bad. I told you it smelled like moussaka. There was also a strange smell in the ayran glass. The price was too expensive in terms of performance. I tried it but unfortunately I won't go again.
