Turmeric Gold in Coventry

Went on Saturday, 19th of October 2024. Excellent food, service, menu and interior decor. Generous portion sizes. Loved the little complementary side dishes, never received so many. Other restaurants need to start offering high quality complement side dishes to compete with Turmeric Gold. Will be returning next time we are in Coventry. Thanks to all at Turmeric Gold for the memorable experience.

What a great find. Fantastic friendly service, diverse menu with some very different dishes. Lovely old Tudor style interior and not too noisy or crowded. We had tandoori grill and a South Indian lamb dish. The lamb was very tender and tasty. Not too expensive either. I would recommend.

Fantastic food to start with poppadoms cooked fresh best I've ever tasted Chicken tikka absolutely delicious .was our 25 years anniversary the lovely waitress/owner heard us and gave us a sparkling cake. First time won't be the last Lovely staff food amazing atmosphere fantastic 10 out 10

Excellent food, excellent service. I was undecided on having the Tandoori platter of Lamb Rawalpindi, so the ingenious waiter suggested a Tandoori Platter with a side of Rawalpindi sauce. Best tandoori I have had for a long time - Restored my faith in restaurant curry.

Turmeric Gold is an absolute delight! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is beautifully prepared with amazing flavors. The staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel right at home. It’s the perfect spot for a special occasion or just a cozy night out. I always leave looking forward to my next visit!

Fairly standard British South Asian food dressed up. Service was adequate.

Me and my partner went for the maharaja experience meal. Just to let some know, for this meal you'll be seated cross-legged, If you are a large person you may not fit under the table. Staff were great and very accommodating, very helpful. Food was ok, mango duck was so spicy my partner struggled to finish it and said she couldn't taste the mango. Citrus beef is just an overcooked steak with mango slices on it. Green korma goanese was by was the best dish, really lovely. All the sundries were very nice. It was quite expensive for what you got for the maharaja meal, however the ambiance is lovely. Plus there will be a 12% service charge added to your bill, fyi.

We had a lovely meal in the wonderful surroundings of Turmeric Gold. The service was erratic once it got busy, but the staff themselves were great.

We were there for a birthday celebration. A family of 15 .The staff looked after us well. The food was very tasty. No complaints. Lovely atmosphere indoors .

I think possibly the best curry I have ever had. Every dish was cooked to perfection and intensely flavoursome. Chef needs full compliments. Waiting staff do as well. Often overlooked the service was welcoming, efficient and professional from the moment we stepped through the door. Would highly recommend trying here after this visit.

I had yesterday, without a doubt, the most expensive indian meal I have ever had and probably the best solo dining experiance I have ever had. I went to Tumeric gold on Spon street, it's a charming little restaurant. When I arrived I was the only diner, but it was early in the evening and it soon started filling up, they gave me a shot of mango and yogurt as a palate cleanser. Took my order and promptly delivered popadom starter with various dips. While enjoying this I got complementary mousse bouche, which were not only a delight on the eye but tasted fantastic! The main was recommended to me as I wanted to avoide creamy dishes, not only was it beautifully presented it was spicey, fragrant and well balanced. All through the meal the staff were attentive, thoughtful and pleasent. And at the last they bought out, what I thought was a tiny mint, until they poured hot water on it, it then unfurled into a hot moist towlett, this was served along with an apple sorbet shaped as a rose. All in all 10 out 10, will eat there again once my bank balance recovers!

Very nice curry, great flavours and presented lovely but quite expensive. Have had similar quality currys for much less cost.

A really good place to eat, good ambiance. Taste is really fantastic. Customer service was really great and friendly. Would suggest people to visit for some really great Indian cuisines. Must try item is their chicken tikka masala

We had such a lovely time the last time we were here, we had to return! The food is always spot on and the service is brilliant!! There is a great range on the menu with something for everyone and the mini amuse-bouche is an excellent addition!! Nom Nom!!!

Food was far from fresh, average at best and unnecessarily overpriced. The service is good which tries to compensate for the not so good food, but the food was a total disappointment.

I'm visiting a Coventry and this restaurant was recommended by a colleague as the best curry restaurant in the area. I turned up without a reservation and in my gym kit but was treated incredibly well by the staff, from a small complimentary drink on arrival to great service. It's really well decorated and has a lovely, relaxing ambience. The food really is excellent, and I wish I'd saved room for a pudding. Highly recommended 👍

Coming from an asian background I am particular about the food I eat especially from an indian restaurant and I find Turmeric Gold hits all the nails on the head when it comes to the wow factor, beautiful setting, delicious food and great service.

Fantastic tasting food and very nicely presented. The staff were super friendly and gave us a lot of complimentary snacks. The peshwari naan was the best I've ever had too!

Beautiful dinner. The food and wine were very tasty and gorgeously plated. Beware the naga infused chicken though - it was wonderful but it really isn’t for the faint hearted! And they pulled out all the stops - complimentary amuse bouche, hot towel, palate cleanser at the end, and chocolates with the bill. Highly recommend

Myself and the Wife came here on a Wednesday night, considering we are both well travelled and I've also lived abroad we were shocked that we were in agreement that Turmeric Gold was the best restaurant experience we have ever experienced. They really go above and beyond like we hadn't seen before, we saw them go table to table and give 3 or 4 fancy complimentary dishes each! Something you don't expect anywhere. The food was amazing, and also presented really nicely. Customer service was 10/10. We told them upon arrival that it's our wedding anniversary and they decorated with a banner, celebration decorations and a free chocolate cake with a sparkler at the end. Cons: It's on a street where there are a few bars/clubs so Friday and Saturday night it may be rowdy in the area.

Great attentive staff and gorgeous food. A little on the pricier side, but the food quality, complimentary items throughout the evening and attention to detail easily make it worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to dine for a special occasion.

I've been here twice recently, and I think it is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to.

We went to Turmeric Gold many years ago but not in recent times. But my daughter wanted to try it so we went with her and a friend. I wasn't sure what to expect but knew it would be more then we usually pay! So was it worth it? Positives: the decor was lovely especially in a medieval building. The staff were excellent attentive without being over the top. We received a complimentary mango lassi & amuse voucher. Excellent 👌! The food was amazing! My tiger prawn starter was delicious (Though my daughter's scallops looked a bit meagre!) The main was beautifully presented. I had the South Indian chill chicken. Not the greasy curry you find in some cheaper places. It was more than we usually pay but we're left feeling satisfied not over full. There is a 12% service charge we weren't aware of. And my daughter, who used to work in hospitality felt it would have been nice if the tap water came in a iced jug! All in all we were, all 4 of us, more than satisfied with meal. We will definitely return & hopefully bring other friends too. Maybe for a special occasion rather than just a meal out! Oh and a last plus I was more than happy at the way myself was treated & catered for as a disabled customer!

An attractive restaurant on historic Spon Street. Nice inside and pleasant waiting staff, although being sat close to the front desk meant I heard that there were some issues from diners and staff. Food was nice although the three small scallops for the starter I ate seemed less than generous. Main course was a tasty lamb and chicken dish from the a la carte menu. Nice enough with attentive staff, although I have had better Indian food elsewhere.

Food was beautiful, and the service lovely. Really enjoyed our evening here.
