The service was not good, and food was okay but not really great. The seating area was cramped therefore it felt comfortable.

Excellent service! Food was high class, and too nice for me as I'm use to standard curries. If you like curry visit here.

Attitude of staff members was completely ridiculous for a ‘fine dining’ restaurant. Ismail in particular was not hospitable nor was he apologetic of the long waiting time and poor service of the restaurant. When our food finally arrived 30 minutes late the butter chicken was completely cold and had barely any flavour. The naan bread was brittle and hard. They didn’t even give us ice for the drinks when I requested ice, I was met with a sigh and eye roll from Ismail the staff member. Seating was very uncomfortable and very close together which made the overall vibe very congested and unpleasant. When time came for dessert Ismail took an incredibly long time to take our order (almost 30 mins) after our food finished and then took another 15 mins to bring our desert out which was just a brownie and ice cream. Over all I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant as it ruined our whole night and the worse bit about it was that we were not the only table that suffered with this bad service almost everyone in the restaurant was displeased.

Booked here for husband’s birthday! Couldn’t fault a thing, everything excellent from staff, food and decor ! Highly recommend and I’ve just rebooked for my own birthday!

This was my first visit to this restaurant, along with two friends. It serves relatively traditional Indian sub-continent fare, but presented in a very modern style. Their food is cooked extremely well, with everything having the right texture and taste, with a variety of both these things on every plate. The menu is reassuringly focused on just a few offerings, but covering all the types of meat , fish and vegetables you could wish for. There are very tasty little surprises served before, between and after the courses. The staff are very pleasant, and the dining area is beautifully decorated and very intimate. It's not quite fine dining, but it's very close to that, and a very big step above 99% of other Indian sub-continent restaurants. Will I go again ? YES !

We had the 7 course taster menu and it was utterly superb. The dishes were stunningly presented and tasted wonderful, interesting and varied. The waiters were lovely and did a fabulous job at making a birthday seem special. Thank you.

The "Journey Menu" turned into a car crash! A really shocking and disappointing dining experience. We booked a table for six people on Friday 13th December 2024 for our Christmas Night out. What a total disappointment... We asked for the menu when we arrived only to be told that our food had already been ordered and prepared by the chef! We weren't aware of this until the waiter told us. After challenging this a number of times, we were told that the chef had already got the food ready and we were booked on a "Journey Menu" and we couldn't order anything else... As it had taken some of the group more than an hour to get to Coventry, we decided to take what was on offer. We had looked forward to enjoying a meal at Turmeric Gold based on its excellent reputation and previous visits throughout the year that we had made, but unfortunately, this latest experience fell far below our expectations. Upon arrival, my party and I were eager to order several dishes from the menu; however, we were informed that this wasn't possible without any warning or prior notification as our food had already been booked! This was really annoying and frustrating, as it limited our choices significantly. We felt that the overall dining experience was compromised and poor value for money. Not only did this inconvenience us, but it also made us question the management and preparation of ingredients at the restaurant. We would have appreciated some advance notice of the unavailable menu when we made the reservation as we were forced to quickly make alternate decisions without the full menu options that we had hoped for. The availability of menu items plays a crucial role in customer satisfaction, and a more proactive approach would have greatly improved our experience. We left without leaving a tip or paying the service charge, something that we normally do, six, good all year round customers left extremely disappointed and possibly never to return.

I would like to share my experience with what I thought would be the best Indian in Coventry after reading the reviews however I was disappointed. First of all as we were seated we were served Pappadoms and other various appetisers which we never asked for and believed they were complementary as the waiter never informed us that these appetisers were chargeable. We were a group of six and when the bill was provided all of the items which we thought were complimentary we were charged for and when we questioned this we were told there was a service charge 🤔 Food was ok however small portions and nearly £17.00 for a chicken madrass which had no spice and was mild. I eat at many Indian reastaurants across the country and this one was by far my worst experience in coventry. Your prices are extortionate and please stop trying to deceive the general public by serving appetisers which are chargeable. I would not return here there are much better restaurants in Coventry.

Came upon this quaint restaurant by chance on a Tuesday evening. The food quality was truly outstanding. Actually, the best Indian meal I have had. All staff were so kind and attentive. Excellent value for money.

Highly recommend this restaurant - food and service absolutely top notch. I eat a lot of curry, both homemade and in restaurants and this was some of the best. Also the service was superb which is sadly lacking these days in some restaurants

I would say this is one of the most fabulous Indian Curry restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at. Service was polite and timely with food coming out at the appropriate time. Delicious food with little extras along the way. Atmosphere is cosy and pretty. I would travel to come here again.

Went on Saturday, 19th of October 2024. Excellent food, service, menu and interior decor. Generous portion sizes. Loved the little complementary side dishes, never received so many. Other restaurants need to start offering high quality complement side dishes to compete with Turmeric Gold. Will be returning next time we are in Coventry. Thanks to all at Turmeric Gold for the memorable experience.

What a great find. Fantastic friendly service, diverse menu with some very different dishes. Lovely old Tudor style interior and not too noisy or crowded. We had tandoori grill and a South Indian lamb dish. The lamb was very tender and tasty. Not too expensive either. I would recommend.

Fantastic food to start with poppadoms cooked fresh best I've ever tasted Chicken tikka absolutely delicious .was our 25 years anniversary the lovely waitress/owner heard us and gave us a sparkling cake. First time won't be the last Lovely staff food amazing atmosphere fantastic 10 out 10

Excellent food, excellent service. I was undecided on having the Tandoori platter of Lamb Rawalpindi, so the ingenious waiter suggested a Tandoori Platter with a side of Rawalpindi sauce. Best tandoori I have had for a long time - Restored my faith in restaurant curry.

Me and my partner went for the maharaja experience meal. Just to let some know, for this meal you'll be seated cross-legged, If you are a large person you may not fit under the table. Staff were great and very accommodating, very helpful. Food was ok, mango duck was so spicy my partner struggled to finish it and said she couldn't taste the mango. Citrus beef is just an overcooked steak with mango slices on it. Green korma goanese was by was the best dish, really lovely. All the sundries were very nice. It was quite expensive for what you got for the maharaja meal, however the ambiance is lovely. Plus there will be a 12% service charge added to your bill, fyi.

I think possibly the best curry I have ever had. Every dish was cooked to perfection and intensely flavoursome. Chef needs full compliments. Waiting staff do as well. Often overlooked the service was welcoming, efficient and professional from the moment we stepped through the door. Would highly recommend trying here after this visit.

I had yesterday, without a doubt, the most expensive indian meal I have ever had and probably the best solo dining experiance I have ever had. I went to Tumeric gold on Spon street, it's a charming little restaurant. When I arrived I was the only diner, but it was early in the evening and it soon started filling up, they gave me a shot of mango and yogurt as a palate cleanser. Took my order and promptly delivered popadom starter with various dips. While enjoying this I got complementary mousse bouche, which were not only a delight on the eye but tasted fantastic! The main was recommended to me as I wanted to avoide creamy dishes, not only was it beautifully presented it was spicey, fragrant and well balanced. All through the meal the staff were attentive, thoughtful and pleasent. And at the last they bought out, what I thought was a tiny mint, until they poured hot water on it, it then unfurled into a hot moist towlett, this was served along with an apple sorbet shaped as a rose. All in all 10 out 10, will eat there again once my bank balance recovers!

Very nice curry, great flavours and presented lovely but quite expensive. Have had similar quality currys for much less cost.

I'm visiting a Coventry and this restaurant was recommended by a colleague as the best curry restaurant in the area. I turned up without a reservation and in my gym kit but was treated incredibly well by the staff, from a small complimentary drink on arrival to great service. It's really well decorated and has a lovely, relaxing ambience. The food really is excellent, and I wish I'd saved room for a pudding. Highly recommended 👍

Coming from an asian background I am particular about the food I eat especially from an indian restaurant and I find Turmeric Gold hits all the nails on the head when it comes to the wow factor, beautiful setting, delicious food and great service.

Fantastic tasting food and very nicely presented. The staff were super friendly and gave us a lot of complimentary snacks. The peshwari naan was the best I've ever had too!

Beautiful dinner. The food and wine were very tasty and gorgeously plated. Beware the naga infused chicken though - it was wonderful but it really isn’t for the faint hearted! And they pulled out all the stops - complimentary amuse bouche, hot towel, palate cleanser at the end, and chocolates with the bill. Highly recommend

Myself and the Wife came here on a Wednesday night, considering we are both well travelled and I've also lived abroad we were shocked that we were in agreement that Turmeric Gold was the best restaurant experience we have ever experienced. They really go above and beyond like we hadn't seen before, we saw them go table to table and give 3 or 4 fancy complimentary dishes each! Something you don't expect anywhere. The food was amazing, and also presented really nicely. Customer service was 10/10. We told them upon arrival that it's our wedding anniversary and they decorated with a banner, celebration decorations and a free chocolate cake with a sparkler at the end. Cons: It's on a street where there are a few bars/clubs so Friday and Saturday night it may be rowdy in the area.

I've been here twice recently, and I think it is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to.

We went to Turmeric Gold many years ago but not in recent times. But my daughter wanted to try it so we went with her and a friend. I wasn't sure what to expect but knew it would be more then we usually pay! So was it worth it? Positives: the decor was lovely especially in a medieval building. The staff were excellent attentive without being over the top. We received a complimentary mango lassi & amuse voucher. Excellent 👌! The food was amazing! My tiger prawn starter was delicious (Though my daughter's scallops looked a bit meagre!) The main was beautifully presented. I had the South Indian chill chicken. Not the greasy curry you find in some cheaper places. It was more than we usually pay but we're left feeling satisfied not over full. There is a 12% service charge we weren't aware of. And my daughter, who used to work in hospitality felt it would have been nice if the tap water came in a iced jug! All in all we were, all 4 of us, more than satisfied with meal. We will definitely return & hopefully bring other friends too. Maybe for a special occasion rather than just a meal out! Oh and a last plus I was more than happy at the way myself was treated & catered for as a disabled customer!
