Turkish Meze Bar in Tendring

Came to Harwich for a couple of days break with our two daughters (12+15) and was looking for somewhere to eat between burger and chips and posh restaurant. Turkish Meze bar came recommended on Google so we opted for that and we were so glad we did. The service was warm, friendly and accommodating, the menu choices were authentic and exciting (to the point where we ordered practically all of the hot and cold meze starters because it all sounded amazing). We were right though because the food was beautifully presented and delicious, everybody loved it including my fussy kids !! Decor basic but spotlessly clean ( more important in my opinion). Highly recommend this place for great food, exceptional service and excellent value for money.

Absolutely wonderful team working there. The hostess/waitress was charming, accommodating and very knowledgeable. They make their own chilli sauce from a traditional family recipe and it is delicious! The food was 😍😍😍 too!

Fantastic restaurant if there was more stars to give I would! The waitress was brilliant, the food delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful, if you have not tried this place. You should! Thank you for such a lovely time!

Found this place after ferry from Holland last year. Liked it so much we came back this year on our way to Hook of Holland. Food was great and particularly liked friendly service by Kimba, a real asset 😃. We’ll be back next time.

We came here as a family of 9 and was very well looked after. The service was brilliant and the food was lovely and definitely hit the spot. Excellent all round

I attended tonight with my brother who is vegetarian, we asked Pauline who was very attentive to us what we should have and we had the most delicious mix of hot and cold Meze! Totally recommend to anyone in the mood for brilliant service and amazing food!

As always meet was over done. Meet and dips previously frozen and defrosted. Oil levels high. We'd previously swayed away from this establishment returned tonight and was equally disappointed.

Kimba the waitress introduced herself,greeted us and showed us to our table,the food was very good and the place was clean and tidy,the service was excellent and she is by far the best waitress we have had in any establishment

Order a takeaway here food is delicious however when went into the restaurant the waitress I think Pauline was her name was rude and look like fed up , don’t know who messed up our order the chef or waitress will not be coming to this again and don’t recommend sit in and eating

Баранина смачна, соковита і м'яка))) Креветки в паніровці, перший раз їв такі смачні креветки . Окрема частина це десерт. Це мега смачний шоколадний торт з морозивом. Бісквіт не забитий, повітряний і соковитий. Окрема подяка офіціанткі, дуже привітна і приємна людина. Рекомендую відвідати )))

Great dinner in this restaurant! Entered with 15 persons which was not a problem for the waitress and kitchen crew. Great food and very efficient and friendly service! We will be back.

Excellent quality components masterfully prepared. Delight for the senses. Iskander is amazing! Don't ask for Ayran though , they don't have it.

I had an excellent dining experience at Turkish Meze Bar in Harwich. The food was delicious and prepared in a traditional way. It was also very affordable, and the waitress was friendly, even giving us complimentary pita bread with dips. The restaurant is also very child-friendly. I highly recommend the köfte, lahmacun, and chicken shish kebab. 5 stars!

me and my family come to this restaurant for a birthday meal not too long ago. The food was lovely the chefs where fantastic with out special requests was a lovely atmosphere except the waitress. i’m not aware of her name all i know is i over heard it began with P. She was rude a bossy and not someone i want handling our food. She demanded to sit where she wanted not where we felt comfortable (this is normal to some restaurants but there was no signs on display and we where already seated. seen as there was no one else in the restaurant then us at the time we thought this was quiet rude). The food was lovely but we won’t be back while she is there. as well as that she was not happy when we made changes to our food and got moody with us and sighed when we edited it. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars but i feel the waitress had ruined our experience so we now use the other turkish just down the road.

I’ve been working away this week and stumbled on this fine restaurant, the staff are incredible, the food is outstanding and prices are excellent considering the current climate, the restaurant wasn’t busy but food orders were consistent, like me lucky people who chose correctly in my opinion, I ate here 3 times and was blown away all three times, the taste is straight out of Turkish paradise, the restaurant is well lit and blended with traditional and modern touches. Get your friends and family and come have a treat, you won’t be disappointed I’m sure 👍🏻 Get the ‘Lahmacun’ for an extra treat 😋

Bright and lively meze bar. Food presented well and kofte especially tasty. Nice range of drinks and plenty of different food options. Service was a little slow to be honest but very friendly.

Sehr gutes Essen (einmal mit Lamm, einmal vegetarisch). Besonders hat uns gefreut, dass wir um 21:30 Uhr noch im Restaurant essen konnten. Und der türkische Tee aufs Haus war eine nette Geste!

Ended up here after a meal, sounds crazy, but a meal was booked for our family and my daughter was so upset with the food she refused to eat. We have allergies, anxieties and autism... Visiting the area I Google, gluten free local. And randomly this place popped up .. I took her and we walked there ... I can honestly say they were amazing, explained allergies and they went through what she could have and mixed it about... She was comfortable, we were able to get take away and went to the beach. She thoroughly enjoyed it ! Put the biggest smile on her face. I can not be any more thankful for the patience and time you took.. probably seems normal for you but for us it meant so much. When we visit Harwich again, we are coming back

We verbleven maar 1 nacht in Harwich en kwamen dit restaurant bij toeval tegen en dat werd een culinaire verrassing. Erg aardige bediening ook nog. Zeer aan te bevelen, ook voor vegetariërs.

Waited nearly an hour and a half only to receive the wrong order! Response from the restaurant was not good enough!

The best Turkish food I ever taste and good price

Chef friendly and helpful as was the waitress. She did slow as the evening progressed though. Food good but nothing to go wow about. Friend said that their takeaway is brilliant.

Never again. For a change I ordered via their own website, first mistake did not notice delivery was £4! On Just Eat it was £2.50 where I usually order from. Food went in recycling box, chicken shish was edible, Lamb shish very chewy, and the donor meat unedible, being a bit of a foodie expert I could tell it was not fresh and the fat and oil in container was a good sign of being reheated. My second mistake, was about to leave a review on their site but noticed I had previously left one again with bad food. I always allow one bad meal, everyone has a off day but it's now been 2/3 unacceptable meals therefore I will stick to my usual place of Dovercourt Grill. £25 wasted tonight.

Had a takeaway from here. Very tasty- prawn cocktail was delicious! Hummus very good and chicken shish was filling! Far too much for two people!

Went here recently after having a takeaway a few months earlier, which was very nice. Decided to sit in and have a meal, very nice would recommend the place to anyone, the reason for only 4 stars and not 5 is due to the wait time, we weren’t in a rush, for a change so this didn’t bother us. Think the wait was due to the amount of Just Eat deliveries they have going on, good on them for being that busy, but be prepared to wait, we felt it was worth it.

Good service from the Italian waitress, good Turkish lager and the food was great. Will definitely go again.

Had a wonderful evening at this restaurant, lots of extra touches which were unexpected. Service was very professional and friendly. Food and wine were delicious and reasonably priced. Excellent value for money, can't wait to return. The owner of the restaurant even took us home as our taxi let us down. He was concerned for our safety....... the whole experience was beyond my expectations. What a fabulous restaurant 10/10 A huge thank you to all the staff.

The two of us had a lovely meal here, with a couple of hot mezes to start and 2 x chicken kebabs for mains. The food was well-presented, with authentic flavours, and good portion sizes. Our waitress was charming, and we expect to return again.

Five of us visited this excellent restaurant last night, anticipating a great meal, and were not disappointed! Right from our very warm welcome, right through to our dessert, the whole visit was exceptional, starting off with complimentary bread and dips. The food was all freshly prepared, and beautifully presented, and the accompanying Turkish-bottled red wine (which I remembered from a previous visit), was perfect! In summary, an experience to be repeated.

We were welcomed on arrival and promptly shown to our table. The restaurant was quieter than expected but it had no right to be having been served fantastic food with a smile. Warm bread and dips provided at no extra cost. The dishes tasted fresh and full of flavour. Turkish music complemented the atmosphere for a great meal. I really wish these guys well.

Went to Turkish Mere Bar for wife birthday on 7/10/21 make us very welcome. The food was amazing and so was the beer . Friendly staff and very good value . We will be back soon or having a takeaway keep up the good work...

It would be fair to say I was apprehensive about this place, but reviews were excellent and there were not a lot of other choices available. I needn't have been worried - absolutely superb food and great value.

Popped in by chance for quick meal. Pleasant environment, friendly waitress. Seemed popular with the number of customers and take-aways.

One of the best kebabs we've had. Homemade doner, homemade bread, delicious mixed meze. This is our go to place for food when in Harwich.

Ordered food last night. The chicken kebab was yummy and perfect, however the doner wrap was a huge disappointment. Even the chips delivered did not have any salt tasting totally bland.

Had our first take out this evening - absolutely delicious. Kebabs full of flavour with tasty rice and sauce. Meze and pitta fantastic and Baklava to finish. Everything full of flavour and fresh. No idea why we took so long to try this. If you're missing your Mediterranean holiday this will give you a fix!

I didn't know you could go in and order. Very glad I did. After a short wait, a gorgeous authentic Turkish meal enjoyed safely in the comfort of our home. Meat was tender and freshly cooked, bulgar rice was beautiful choice of dips amazing Turkish flat breads absolutley gorgeous. Great value and one of the best meals we have had throughout the various lock downs. Will definitely be back very soon! :-)

Just had a takeaway from meze bar . I always enjoy the food but i really enjoyed it tonight . I would recommend the half a pounder beef burger and the wraps it was delicious . Thumbs up

Food arrived late and was cold. Bread inedible. One of the drivers untrustworthy so will not order when they are on.

Takeaways from here have been consistently excellent. Always ready dead on time and delicious meals. The food is just like we had on those Turkish holidays! I can strongly recommend. Eat-in restaurant closed for Covid, but I imagine the food is just as good as...

Nice food, however I was missing chips with my quarter pounder and chips meal , been trying for 30 mins to call straight to voicemail Not Happy .
