Tung Kong in Greenwich

I moved to Eltham 5 years ago. After going through all the local Chinese takeaways we finally found our Favourite, never have looked back since.

Ordered takeaway via Uber Eats. Whilst delivery was a bit later than hoped the food was great. Just what you need after a hangover. Chicken chow mein, sweet and sour balls and chicken satay were highlights. We did think the rices (special fried and egg fried) were a bit pale looking, much prefer a golden hue than brilliant white! But would order again. Better than recent reviews would suggest.

The whole meal was unedible. The crispy noodles were soggy and blunt. The satay chicken was ok until the taste of chicken came through and was off. The roast duck was not roast it was like boiled with all the soft fatty skin and in no way or form was Chinese style. The whole meal tasted blunt. What a waste of £32.. if people putting 5* reviews liked this they have not eaten good food.

We order from here all the time and the food is usually brilliant, but I really don’t know what happened today. 2 potions of cold, old chips that were very dry and l had been refried. Cold ribs with very thin watery sauce and all the flavour congealed at one end of the container. The egg fried rice we were not going to take any chances with eating, was barely warm and had a strange texture. Luckily the Chow Mein and chicken balls were of the usual standard, as was my sons sausage in batter. Really disappointed as we usually love the food from here, but has put us off. Just Eat have been great and are refunding us for the inedible items.

The food was cooked fantastically. My whole family enjoyed it. I even ate something i have never tried before and it was delicious.

Excellent service, food was hot, tasty and delivered quickly, which is rare on a Saturday night. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food, quick and polite service. Can't wait to order from here again. I dislike sweet and sour but this place is the only one to make it so tasty and like actual sweet and sour rather than vinegar.

Everything was delicious, restaurant staff were very helpful on the phone with delivery times! Everything was cooked perfectly, and the portion sizes were generous balancing the cost. I'm not going to rate the delivery time due to there being traffic caused by an accident, thus it was late but the cause is reasonable. Would order from here again! :)

great meal (4 dishes all perfect fifth one (chow mein) over cooked , had that slightly burnt taste ) never had a bad meal from here before so I take it as a blip . Looking forward to next meal from Tung Kong

Best satay ever proper chunky chicken breasts lovely Chinese

This takeaway has gone down hill badly since it reopened as the New Tung Kong. The food was bland and tasteless with a metallic aftertaste. Do not order from here - go elsewhere.

Well they use to be good they kindly rang me and told me I’d get a refund because I accidenti ordered twice that day , and I still ain’t got a refund from what I done , so now I’m going to have to go through my bank or even go through a court to get it back , stressful and the food wasn’t even that good

We have a takeaway from Tung Kong once a fortnight. Most of the time the food is full of flavour, arrives on time and hot. The food is better on some days than others, the menu online isn't always the same as what they have in the kitchen and you end-up with a different dish. We have found the right dishes for us and stick to them, otherwise you can be a little disappointed, ask them to make some dishes more spicy, they are very good and flexible. Their own website is very easy to use and cheaper.

Food is disgrace! Places like this should not exist! Overpriced rubbish! Save your money and time people and avoid

What a disgrace this lot are. We wasted an hour in Boxing Day taking orders from our family which we placed for collection with Tung Kong. My poor partner had already left in the car to go collect our food when I got a text through just eat, saying they’d cancelled our order. No explanation and wouldn’t answer the phone when I called the restaurant. We were all left hungry and so very angry. Awful way to treat loyal customers. We won’t touch them again after this. China Rendevouz has much better customer service and food. Highly recommend them instead.

exceptional food but waited 2 hrs with no courtesy call or sorry i was rude to delivery man and of that i am sorry but had cooked food for my family iwas just turning the lights out and going to bed will probably not use them again

We ordered from this takeaway twice recently and found the food to be of a very good quality. Being Chinese I am very picky with Chinese takeaway but my family and I really enjoyed the food. It was tasty yet did not have the usual overload of MSG taste. The meat for the special fried rice and special chow mein was in small pieces which was nice and tasted fresh. My only criticism is the seaweed which had too much sugar in it. I’ve ordered it on two separate occasions and found that the seaweed is the same. They need to stop adding so much sugar. I think it’s sugar, it was in the form of crystals so it was either sugar or MSG. It literally covered the whole box of seaweed and I was unable to eat it. We also ordered a mushroom omelette (not very Chinese, I know) which was tasty but it was missing something such as beans sprouts. Had it contained beans spouts, it would have added a crunch element that would have lifted the dish. Now that we know, for future orders we will request beans sprouts for that particular dish. Apart from that the rest of the food that we ordered was faultless and it is definitely our new go-to Chinese takeaway from now on. Would highly recommend plus they deliver which is a added bonus.

Food was almost 2 hours late due to them sending it to the wrong address but he was very sincere and the food was amazing!

First time ordered. I got black bean and beef and sweet and sour Hong Kong. The beef dish had loads of green pepper chunks so it felt really healthy to eat, even though I did end up bloated. It could have a few more black beans in the dish though and a bit more spice.

My nightmare arrived on time , it was bland meat was over cooked sweet and sour was sickening and watery. Ordered beef but received something wich looked like batter. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The worst take away I have ever had. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY .

I only eat starters, 1, you didn't read the notes that was left. 2, the prawn toast was soggy. 3, the satay chicken was dry and like the note stated sauce separate .(IN A POT)!!! Not impressed poor standards. Prawn toast is unedable. , and who likes dry chicken. Going hungry tonight . A lot of money for nothing nice,...............

Turned up 20 minutes late. Asked for plain noodles, they gave us special fried noodles, asked to make the black bean beef not spicy and it was the spiciest I've ever tasted! Food didn't even taste good, will not order here again.

After working a 12 hour shift we ordered late and it's one of our favourite places but the food was poor quality. Curry sauce was like flavoured water. Food was very late and we were disappointed

Excellent food excellent service

Our first time ordering from here and we were very pleased. The wonton soup was delicious; the crispy aromatic duck was well cooked and the garnishes well presented; the king prawn vermicelli was well seasoned and not greasy at all. Moreover, everything was piping hot and the food came 20 minutes early which was fantastic. Will be ordering from here again.

Simply put ......order ...go ...get asap ..... Clean great food .. simple test . Special fried rice ..no grease at all in the rice and meat within just juicy and fresh .... Chick curry .. no floating goo on top .. good taste and flavour .... And the main test for me ... spare ribs ......... DAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMM So to wrap up .......BOOOOOMSHANKA ...I thank you ...

Nothing special....chicken balls were as small as nuggets. .chilli beef didn't taste of chilli at all....pancake rolls were sticking to the bag so fell apart. ..wasn't worth the £33 I paid..disappointed

We love chines from here but were disapointed with the fish ans Chips. Chips were nice but the cod was flavourless and the batter was chewy. The battered sausages were also full of grease. Will continue to use tung Kong for Chinese but never again for fish and chips

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! Delivery over 30 minutes past stated hour wait. Beef was so over done with ginger that we were unable to eat it. Tiny portions and no rice with mains. So very disappointed and will never order from them again!

Ordered from here via just eat as I fancied fish & chips & my partner wanted Chinese food. Impressed! Food was delivered hot & 10 minutes early. Cod was huge & tasty. Batter was a little soggy but I like it like that. Dumplings were lovely. Will order again & it's so handy that they're open on a Sunday (proper fish & chips is often hard to find for delivery on a Sunday)

Some of the food was good. Any dish with chicken didn't look or taste like fresh chicken, more like frozen pre-cooked. All very uniforrm and square. Wasn't ontime although only 15' minutes later that predicted.

Lovely Chinese food. My only complaint is the Sweet & Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style, it was really spicy for some reason. Other than that, all was perfect. I definitely recommend this place.

First time ordering from this restaurant and I'm pleasantly surprised. The food was really nice and flavourful, I would say it's probably one of the better ones I've ordered from around here. Delivery was only about 5 minutes over what they said and the food arrived hot. Will definitely be using them again.

What a lovely discovery this place is. The fish and chips where delicious. Couldn't fault it at all will differently​ being ordering again soon.

It was a Friday night, so expect delays. Food good, but this time the sweet n sour sauce tasted odd....too much like ketchup! Still wouldn't put me off.
