We went on vacation, from Bilbao Spain, and they recommended this restaurant to me, our surprise was so great that we ate and drank without stopping🤩🥩🍻, Cristina and her husband's attention was 10, the food was delicious 😋 fair prices for being in England, and the atmosphere is unmatched, I recommend it 100%, we will definitely go again, Thank you for such excellent attention from the entire Tuga Copos work team 🤗🤗

This restaurant is the paradise for Portuguese people it’s so tasty and so good the Lapas are great the best Portuguese restaurant in Bournemouth if you have a good big group the food arrives in 10-20minutes if you’re a medium sized group 10-15minutes and two is 5-10minutes and the person who brings you the food is so so friendly

Poor food ( mixed grill was over salted and overcooked, fish was overcooked outside al almost raw inside) Friday night, and hardly any tables taken no atmosphere at all, other than the overly loud televisions.

Best Portuguese restaurant in town. Excellent food, fun and efficient service and reasonably priced. Love their garlic octopus and meat/prawn skewer combos. My 2nd visit and its been fantastic both times.

Love this place! We have been multiple times and mostly with large tables of 13 people +. Everytime, the food has been fab. The service has been outstanding and the kids have always been welcomed with open arms! This has quickly become our go to spot!

Strange place. We only had a drink because the atmosphere was not encouraging to eat there.

Hearty portions, mainly consisting of meat, seafood and fish. The attention of the waiters was at times hard to get but overall a good experience. Food all came out together and the card machine didn't try and give a suggested tip amount

That was a disappointed experience to say at least. First of all, me and my bf we weren’t even greeted from the waitress, while she saw us standing by the door for a while. When we took our seats, the waitress came and she didn’t even bother to explain us the menu since it was the first time going to this restaurant and trying Portuguese food. However, we understood that maybe is the language barrier. Continuing the cod and the rump steak were both very dry and tasteless. The sides chips and rice were cold and stale. Lastly, I wanted to try a dessert so maybe it will save the night but they had only two options..and I went with egg pudding. The worst of them all unfortunately. Again it was not fresh. Very bad experience in total.

Hands down one of the best Portuguese restaurants I've been to. Lovely atmosphere. Amazing food and excellent service. João was taking care of us and everything was excellent. Definitely recommend.

This is an amazing restaurant with perfect food as well as service I always feel welcome here for me and my family, the food is freshly done served nicely and amazing taste. Is my first choice to celebrate any big or small celebrations. Manager and stuff are very welcoming always happy receive us and polite I highlightly recommend it

Unfortunately it's not possible to give 0 stars! The food is absolutely tasteless, being Portuguese and having eaten Portuguese food all my life Portuguese this is most certainly not! The staff are incredibly rude, I usually never comment on bad food I simply don't return, but the food was so disappointing that I felt I had to speak up, after speaking to the waiter, a few minutes later the "manager" goes to the table behind and days "what about this tables any complaints" which was an absolute dig at what we had just complained! So we called her over and said what we had said to the waiter instead of just apologising which would have ended the discussion all she said were excuses such as no one else has complained or that's how other like it when I told her she shouldn't say that to customers she rudely said at my age I don't need any advice, which shows absolute ignorance because advice in a business should always be welcome it's then up to the business to take it or not.

The B&B where we were staying recommend Tuga, wow what an absolute gem, the staff were lovely and the food was plentiful and really really tasty, I would definitely recommend to anyone

Old little gem in Boscombe. Atmosphere is traditional but sorta run down but the food there is pretty top notch. Octopus salad was great, super fresh, probably the most tender octopus I've had in a restaurant. For mains I had the mixed skewer and it came with some rice/ potatoes/ chips. The skewer was great, steak cooked rare to medium-rare, prawns had a lovely char, vegetables were juicy and the sliced sausage a really nice flavour. Portion sized are large for a regular person - even the octopus salad which is 6.50 AND a starter could definitely be eaten as a main. Only thing which I had minor issues with were the sides to the mains. Potatoes were lovely, fries were on the soggier side unfortunately, rice was very dry. Also had their caramel flan, typically flans don't have a hardened underside so I don't know if it was a mistake or deliberate but it reminded me of a basque cheesecake. Flavour was good but texture could've been improved by straining the flan mixture to remove bubbles. But overall great experience.

Ribs were extremely salty, fries cooked in burned oil, steak ordered as medium rare has been served rare. TV adverts are playing loud in the background makes it all unpleasant experience. Not planning to visit again.

Absolutely loved visiting Tuga Copos,greeted warmly on arrival,friendly and welcoming atmosphere,lovely food,generous servings,as we had a group booking we had sorted out our order before we arrived,but we were able to have drinks while we waited for the rest of our group, we payed for our own meal which was easy,would love to go back again 😀

Great "bacalhau na brasa com batatas a murro" and "Carne à Alentejana", but the service is extremely unprofessional. Someone has to teach the lady a few basic manners.

Nice little Portuguese restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. The food portions were large! Only two choices for vegetarian mains. I opted for the vegetable spaghetti dish, which was very nice. The rest of my party are not vegetarian, and they enjoyed the meat and king prawn dishes. Our table was a little too close to the one behind us, which made leaving the table a little tricky for both parties! Very reasonably priced menu.

I went to this place because it had decent reviews but now I wonder how is this possible. Summarizing: my daughter and i ended up vomiting all night. The moment I entered the door it felt off, the environment was smelly and extremely warm, then the lady that received us wasn't friendly at all,. The place seems to lack good standards and class and the hygiene could be better. What are those greasy hot plate stands? Why not a towel? Also the chairs need replacing. Very disappointed with this restaurant, it doesn't provide you with a positive Portuguese experience at all, we are so much better than that.

This is a favourite haunt of mine whenever I venture down to Bournemouth. The food is good, the staff are friendly, they have Portuguese beers, and Portuguese Fire Water for those brave enough. I've often seen plenty of Portuguese families in there which is a good sign as to the calibre of the food, and it feels more like you've been invited into someone's home for dinner rather than gone to a restaurant.

The food was excellent. Service with a very friendly and helpful staff, and the food arrived as quickly as it could. Prices are fair - we had bread, starters, mains and loads of guaraná, paying £77 for 3 people. Couldn't fit any more food into ourselves, and left properly satisfied with the experience. Will return when next in the area.

Lovely restaurant with authentic food and friendly staff! Would recommend to anyone who loves Portuguese food. Main portions are quite large especially after having starters. Perhaps it would be nice to have 2 choices of portions (regular & large) with different prices on the menu :)

Not my favourite atmosphere, good to grab a coffee

We ordered beef espetadas and pork stew. The espetada was amazing but I didn't like the pork stew. It was like a boiled pork in a bay leave gravy. The octupus salad was great, it's my favorite and super affordable. I preferred Agua na Boca rest. but unfortunately they have gone.

Staff not recetive not smiling. Good portion of food but the Sangria very small jar. We asked for a starter and same starter came with the main plate but they could tell us because we could choose another starter.

Fantastic food, I've been twice and had the Madeira beef stew and has been delicious both times. They have these palenta fried things that you can dip in the sauce. Yummy!

Amazing experience food was lovely and service really good.

Wasn't sure what to expect but we are so glad that we stopped. The food was probably the best that we have eaten in a long time for the price. We had octopus, which was so tender that it put a lot of high price restaurants to shame. It had the feeling of a real family restaurant, and with a little imagination, the ambience transported us to warmer shores. Warning. If you only want small portions this isn't the place to come!

The best place to eat, the staff are very friendly and also the food is really tasty.

Everything was very good, tasty and cooked with soul, the staff did everything quickly and well. Yes the portion size is impressive each of us failed to finish our order even though we tried. In general, if you have a choice of where to go to eat well and you have not tried Portuguese dishes before, you will not regret it.

Overall it was good, service and food. The only part was that the staff wasn't aware of some dishes not being available on the day (being sold out). Good portions and fair prices.

I’ve eaten in this restaurant on Sunday the 17th of April and it was amazing. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and big portions and the price was good. I will visit again.
