Trungs Chinese & Vietnamese in Lancaster

Brought out a ‘chow mein’, which was unlike any chow mein I’ve ever had. Insisted it was chow mein but had a gluten sauce and I saw proper chow mein’s on other tables. All food sub-par.

Second visit in 2 weeks and once again it was really good. Staff are happy and attentive. Everything that we ordered was tasty with generous portion sizes. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and the pleasant music was at a low volume so that conversation was easy. Have made several visits here over the years and always been impressed. Can recommend.

Ordered a collection, a veg chow mien and a veg curry. Plated up to see my curry full of chicken. Rang to advise and requested they deliver the correct meal to me (0.2 miles away) out of courtesy / goodwill. Person on the phone said they don’t offer delivery, I asked to reconsider given the circumstances. I could hear her relaying the conversation to her manager and imitating me in a mocking manner. I told her I could hear her and there was no apology. No offer of a refund. Not worth the stress when you’re hungry and just want a quick easy takeaway; avoid.

Another great meal here The food was absolutely delicious, we opted for our usual, beef with green pepper and black bean sauce, hot and spicy chicken( made hotter), fried rice and Noodles. The best chinese food we have ever had. It had an atmosphere of a lovely family running the place who were really proud of it and made sure everyone was well catered and left happy. Thank you, until the next time.

Great service and food was beautiful as always. We had a banquet for 6 adults which was lovely and our 4 children were catered to perfectly plus the staff couldn’t be more friendly and made a real fuss of the kids.

Terrible takeaway service. Not told some dishes not available on ordering over the phone. Waited in the restaurant for 25 mins after the appointed collection time, only then to be told things we wanted were not available. Then got home and unpacked the food and one dish was missing. I phoned up complained, then went back to collect this. When we went back, we were accused of not ordering this dish. The server was waving the receipt in our face rudely, saying we hadn't paid for it, and was making it look as if we wanted something for free. Shocking attitude. We said we would pay but the manager then came out to resolve the situation. We were told that the reason they were messing up was because they were busy. Rude and inefficient. Lost a regular here, Trungs!

I had never eaten at Trung's before last night - everything was fantastic, and I particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper king prawns starter. Couldn't fault anything and left feeling very happy.

Nice but never open anymore!!!! HAVE tried phoning last week now tonight come here often but impossible to order food china essence now

Well, what can I say that I haven't said already about this fantastic Chinese restaurant. We just love everything about Trungs  >The Staff- so friendly, welcoming and helpful. >The Service - absolutely wonderful, staff are very efficient and remember our order, even though we only visit when on holiday in the area. >The food - absolutely delicious, very well cooked with a great balance of flavours, the best Chinese food we have ever had. We had the crispy duck with pancakes, followed by Beef with Green Pepper and Black Bean sauce, hot and spicy chicken with fried rice and noodles >The atmosphere - chilled and relaxing. Overall another excellent meal. See you again next time we are down in the area on holiday.

Had a meal here for my dads birthday, it was amazing food and we have been a few times now and always the same. Staff are absolutely lovely and really helpful and a lovely environment. Best Chinese food and restaurant in the area! Would definitely recommend!

By far the tastiest Chinese food we’ve ever tasted. Trungs was recommended to us by friends and we were so pleased we went. Everything we had was delightful. The staff were so friendly and full of smiles. A perfect place to eat. 👌

If you want good service go to the Golden Dragon in Lancaster waiting half hour for starter cold plats then waiting 45 minutes for the main meals should have been special curry I think it was all veg curry ardly any meat .they were just interested in serving takeaway's first NEVER AGAIN.What

Whilst visiting family, we thought we’d treat them to a takeaway from what was our favourite restaurant/takeaway when we lived in the area. Trungs used to have really fresh clean tasking restaurant quality food even for takeaway but the food we got was poor, tasteless and unappetising I don’t know if they have changed hands or changed chef but I’ll be in no hurry to return- what a pity someone has let the standard drop.

We haven't eaten in yet, but have bought takeaway many times now. It is always absolutely excellent. We have never had a bad meal there. Friendly staff, excellent food..............can't ask for more. favourites and 100% recommend Chicken Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast, Seaweed, OK Chicken, Barbecue Chicken, Beef Chow Mein. Not had a bad meal in two years' visits.

WOW! that's what we all said, After trying to book a table for last Saturday evening without success because it was fully booked, we ended up at Babar Elephant which we love but decided to make sure we got in this Saturday and it most certainly didn't disappoint. The service is really excellent and nothing was too much trouble, then the starter's arrived, the Mixed starter for 2 is a real plateful that 3 of us shared, aswell as a portion of those highly recommended King Do Ribs..................ridiculously good! Mains included the Cantonese special, the Surf & Turf sizzle dish and the Hong Kong style Duck, we also added a portion of Shredded Duck rice and Chow mein noodle for good measure. In all honesty, the three of us all said the same thing, that was the BEST Chinese food we have ever eaten, perfect in every way. From here on in there's no point going anywhere else and we live in Heysham, My only criticism and it's a small one, please embrace your wonderful culture and make us feel like we're visiting a Chinese influenced restaurant both with the interior and especially the background music, Thank you for a wonderful experience and we'll definitely be returning.

Used to be favourite go to restaurant but after last night our wedding anniversary no longer food no where as good ,wrong food forgotten items and lacking taste needs to improve before we go back

The takeaway was watery.tasteless and cold.very poor.never again will we be going to this place for food again. The so called King prawns were very small.

Went for a family meal for my granddaughters birthday, food was fantastic and so authentic all courses full of flavor and plentiful excellent attentive friendly staff, although they were very busy with restaurant and take aways quickly served and even boxed up the food we couldn't manage to take home, will take some beating

Superb food, best Chinese meal I have had in years, we had the banquet menu and the quality of every dish from the Vietnamese noodle salad, crispy aromatic duck which was plentiful and all the mains were excellent. Our first Chinese meal out since February - and it was excellent. Tables well spaced out, staff wearing face masks - lots of sensible Covid 19 precautions.The meal was excellent. During a very wet camping trip, we thought we would visit this restaurant. We as a family love Chinese food and we were all looking forward to it. We couldn’t of enjoyed it more. The food here was some of the best Chinese food I’ve had (and I eat a lot of Chinese food). We dined in and the staff were lovely and accommodating when it came to the children’s meals. Only not given it 5 stars because I have to agree with the previous reviewer in regards to COVID safety measures. I understand it must be difficult in such a small area, especially with the takeaway.

We visited this restaurant at the weekend as we have done many times previous for an evening meal.We were quiet surprise that there was very little evidence to us making the restaurant covid safe.Less tables allowing for 2 m distancing was in place.Although there was no cutlery or napkin on the tables there was condiments on some tables and we were given the menu in a book form as on previous visits.On entering through the one door we were shown to a table after going up to the bar area and announcing our name.No sanitisation was visible and after asking for this a small bottle of mango gel was placed on the table.At no time were the numerous members of staff wearing protective face coverings and keeping their distance .The bar area was a hot spot of activity from the kitchen,toilets and take a ways for both staff and customers.The size of the area did not allow for one way "traffic" or distancing.Seeing the effort and expense businesses have been forced to adopt to keep their premise safe Trungs has really let its customers down.

We’ve just had a takeaway and it was absolutely amazing. The best takeaway we’ve had from anywhere for a long time. We regularly eat in the restaurant and occasionally have a takeaway and have NEVER had a bad meal, even at their busiest on NYE. Tonight we had hot and sour vegetable soup to start (we shared one), Chicken Lettuce Wrap to share and then Surf and Turf with Ginger & Spring Onion and Stuffed Chicken with King Prawn. There was an unbelievable amount of food and it was all PERFECT. I cannot recommend Trungs highly enough.

The food was beautiful, we werent waiting long at all either. We went on a Wednesday and had no problem getting a table, even though we hadn't booked. The staff were lovely and friendly, nothing was too much to ask. If we are ever in the area again we will be returning!

Went here for a meal with my partner and six friends… Excellent service wonderful sitting in the window with a roundtable so will everyone was able to chat as we waited for our food, middle section of the table spins so able to share food… Little expensive for the drinks and food however the food portion size is large (you get what you pay for) 10 out of 10 for the salt and pepper chips and the sweet-and-sour chicken… Staff very friendly, little bit confusing to find the toilets as they are up a large flight of stairs… Parking is somewhat adequateWould visit again

Booked a table with only 20 minutes notice on a Sunday night. No problem. Lovely welcome and great service. Starters - salt & pepper chicken wings and king do ribs absolutely phenomenal. Mains of surf n turf in sweet chilli & garlic & char Sui Kung bo, again both lovely. Never had a bad meal or take away from Trungs and have used them for over 15 years. Would highly recommend.

Looks like a house on the outside, very cosy on the inside. Very busy even for a Thursday. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. When opening the bottle asked if you want to breathe and its rare I am asked that so was quite impressed . Vietnamese food to eat in or takeaway try midweek I find it to busy on Saturday. I have tried many items from the menu and strongly recommend the crispy beef.
