Tasty Wok in Lancaster

I was pleasantly surprised, I don’t usually like Chinese takeout in Lancaster because the last and only time I got one I was ill for a while. Not the point, I digress. The food at Tasty Wok was delicious, very fast to get the food and we got really good portions for quite cheap. I will definitely be back. Thank you Tasty wok

Ordered chicken with mixed vegetables in oyster sauce. There wasn't one piece of chicken in it, just vegetables.

Got takeout here Really nice chinese food that was surprisingly cheap Definitely come with a party of 4 or more They do have two menus, one for chinese people and one for non-chinese people. Needless to say I ordered from the chinese menu

A busy restaurant ideally situated for supper after the cinema.

Make sure you’re there with someone who speaks Chinese, otherwise you’ll get a different menu which is very much less authentic😅

Great food especially recommend the beef brisket noodles.

Called in for lunch and was very pleased with the experience. We went for the lunchtime menu, which was excellent value for two courses. The hot and sour soup was delicious and the chicken wings crispy and tasty. My beef main course was tender and savoury and my husband enjoyed his chicken dish. Lovely china tea to accompany the meal. The lady who took our order was friendly and helpful. Thankyou for a filling, tasty and reasonably priced lunch!

Not the best Chinese in town, ordered sweet and sour chicken which wasn't the nicest but their pork dishes were better. The prices of the website don't match those in the restaurant.

My wife and I visit Lancaster on average every month. Tasty Wok is always our first port of call. Great service excellent food, strongly recommend hot and sour soup. Both food and drink vary fairly priced. Well done Tasty Wok.

I was most disappointed. An order was placed at 16.30hrs. We waited 90mins , no order only to find that they had cancelled the order leaving a disabled friend without a meal. It's sad as the food is good but there attitude is poor.

Order never arrived and I was still charged for it! Pre order via uber eats to arrive between 6pm and 6.30pm it was accepted and said it was preparing and estimated time was 6.05pm time passed still no food it's now 10.10pm and still not got my food I spent £40 I have disputed this with uber eats and they are not helpful at all. I would not use uber eats or pay up front first if you are going here!

Excellent quality food! We've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant for some time and we've found it! Had a takeaway, the food was well prepared and obviously used better quality raw materials. Delivery was prompt and cheerful. 5 stars!

Tastey Wok, is exactly that, very tastey food. I like the atmosphere and the menu is varied. I had salt and pepper wings, which were delicious, crispy succulent and packed a taste bomb in your mouth. Then, beef chow mein to follow, beef was so tender and tremendously morish. It also comes with a free drink and a small basket of prawn crackers a nice touch. The price was only £9. as it was the special lunch menu. I'd thoroughly recommend, this restaurant and its always my go to destination when I travel to Lancaster. Sorry there's no photos but my battery was very low.

Good value for money with good portions and tasty. The only issue was my friend ordered the Special Curry and speciffically requested NO PORK. Although most of it was out, still he found bits of pork. He is unable to eat Pork as it doesn't agree with him.

The food never arrived. Rang them up and they said they would get another order out. After this we waited outside for 40 minutes in the rain, rang them up again and they said they didnt make the food and wouldn't send it out.

I have a serious allergy to Peppers but this Chinese really takes my allergy seriously. Finally I can eat Chinese Food again. Delicious, huge portions and perfectly timed delivery with Uber Eats. Yum

I’ve been back up north for a week and with a craving for good Chinese food I feel I hit the jackpot. I picked from the szechwan section and I was not disappointed. Super tasty, hit the mark with flavour, freshness, texture and balance of flavour. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to taste the rest of the menu. The pork belly with chilli was out of this world and XO fried rice I’d leave my wife for if I had one. Thank you very much.

Tasty food, good menu choice, attentive service.

The food was very delicious and they delivered it quite quickly. Too bad that we were visiting from out of town and staying at a hotel because we would order from here again. Only downside was that I had to go to an ATM to get cash as they didnt take credit cards.

My first day off in eight days lead me to needing a feast. Due to hours it has been a week since my last meal. With my belly out of hibernation the onslaught of food was about to commence. I had walked past tasty wok everyday for the last week and knew my partner would enjoy it there. A good sized menu with lots of vegetarian options. I started with a hot and sour soup with tofu. Not too hot considering the name, but plenty of flavour.The vegetable curry was nice. Again, not too hot, but portion size and quality was excellent. A good amount of vegetables. Enough to fill a plate. Of course rice was an option too, but rice is rice. Not much to review. I got a couple of sharing dishes for the table. Luckily the better half was full from her black bean beef, so I had to eat both A big plate full of Pal Choi in garlic sauce. Messy to eat and delicious. Bean curd in a satay sauce is as my other side dish. A main meal in itself. Beautifully cooked tofu. A flavoursome sauce with vegetables and a little chilli kick. We had to finish with a banana fritter. I used to hate bananas, but the last two years, my taste buds have gone mad for them. A great end to a delicious meal. Soft bangs in a thick and crispy batter and smothered in sweet sauce. A me fit for a greedy pig eyes and all cane to forty two quid. Definitely worth a visit.

I always head here,for lunch every time I am in Lancaster. The food is great, I normally order,the chicken and sweetcorn soup . It's so tasty. The place is handy just round corner from the arcade full of shops.. The bus stop is there to.

Have used this Restaurant before but won't again ! I had the Singapore Vermicelli with a curry sauce, it was totally bland as was the sauce and 3/4 of it was left ! I was not impressed !

So glad we booked in advance for our party of 6 as the restaurant is small and was full. We all had the special offer menu (4 courses for £13.90) which was enough food to feed an army. The hot & sour soup was delicious as were the mixed starter & main dishes. Would definitely recommend this place & will definitely return

I went here the other night and on the whole it was a good experience. There had a fixed price menu of 4 courses for £13.90 which comprises of do it, mixed starters, a main with rice and a pudding. Most of the food was lovely except one of the ribs on the mixed starter was not properly cooked so my friend left most of it. The rest of the food was lovely. There was a small hiccup on payment as we were not told only one card can be used per table due to card charges for the machine, really don't agree with this as I know how much is charged and the tip would more than cover this , also I have never been told I can't split a bill with friends on different cards and I eat out a lot so this did put a dampen on otherwise a nice experience. The staff eventually let us split the bill over two cards but it took a lot of persuading

stayed in Lancaster for one night, we have eaten here before and once again the food was excellent and the people were really nice, washed down with a few beers and the cost was reasonable.5 *****. (the set meals are exceptional value)

Good food on our visit to Lancaster.

The starter was excellent, the main course was very good and the service was extremely quick. However for the price of a bottle of diet coke, I don't expect to be served a bottle 4 months past its best before date!

Showed up today around lunchtime and the place was empty. Dont understand why because the food was amazing. Thank you so much! You deserve a lot more attention than you have.

Reasonably priced, tasty food. Very plain decor and wasn’t busy which I don’t understand as the staff were lovely, even got entertained by their 2yr old son who was so cute but not intrusive. An hour later walked past our waitress in the street and she made a big effort to acknowledge us.

We took advantage of the special offer. Soup, a mix plate of appetisers, main course with either boiled or egg fried rice, pineapple fritter or ice cream with a glass of either red or white wine, all for £13.95. There were 4 choices for the mains and all choices you’d expect.All the dishes were served quickly and were all hot. The chicken and sweet corn soup was delicious with big chunks of chicken. The mixed appetisers were amazing, prawn toast, spring rolls, crispy rib,a wonton and seaweed. We shared the two main dishes, crispy shredded beef and sweet and sour chicken. More than enough for us. Pineapple fritters were the perfect finish to a really delicious meal.For some reason, the Tasty Wok never seems busy. I must admit the decor is minimal, the room spartan so there really isn’t much atmosphere but it’s a shame, as this really is a reasonably priced, delicious meal out.

Worst Chinese ever, worst restaurant ever, worst delivery ever worst, worst working staff ever! We gave them 5 different chances and all 5 times gave us different and wrong orders and they were shouting at us that we made the mistake of not communicate correctly with them! they dont even know how to speak English-language!!

Various types of menu and food. Even though the restaurant is not an authentic chinese (based on the fact that it is fusioned between chinese and malaysian) but the taste is not bad and i really like this restaurant, especially with polite, friendly and smiley staffs.

Looked good on trip advisor', so as we had plenty of time traveling back. To the Isle of Man, decided to have a small banquet for two, hot and sour soup really good, hordurves slightly greasy but tasty, main courses meats slightly over cooked, fried rice met expectations.

The best Chinese meal I've had in Lancaster. The staff were attentive and the food was not only delicious but great value for money too.

Before today, I had never had a takeaway from The Tasty Wok. I chose the restaurant based on the reviews online and was not disappointed. I was arranging a Chinese New Year party and wanted to pre-order a takeaway for 7 families (25 people). I called in initially to discuss if this was possible. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and listened to what I wanted. I called in a second time to give our rather large pre-order and asked if the meals could be bagged by family. Our party was today. The food was delivered on time, bagged exactly as I had asked and most importantly was delicious and piping hot. There were no complaints from anyone. The staff had also given us a large portion of chicken wings and 2 large bags of prawn crackers all for free. I would not hesitate to recommend this takeaway and most certainly will be using them again in the future. Thank you to all the staff for some fantastic food and helping make our party a success.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Lancaster for a couple of nights this week and stumbled across this Chinese. The fact they were offering 4 courses and a glass of wine for £13.95 was good enough to get our attention.

I have been to a few Chinese restaurants around the country and although this one is like a cafe as someone pointed out the food we had was the best tasting , sweet and sour pork, chicken curry, Singapore rice and chicken and peppers in black bean sauce done to perfection. Some seem to pour loads of salt in but these dishes are so far the best I have had . Plus there are some good pubs very close with live music making it a good night out.

I stumbled upon this place by pure luck, having been working nearby and needing some lunch I popped in. The service was good, the staff pleasant and the food was very good. I had beef in black pepper sauce and the salt and pepper mix (chips, mini ribs, beef, pork and king prawns in salt and pepper seasoning) I would definitely go back.

I have an appointment in Lancaster twice a week and have my lunch here on both days each week, there’s no where else in Lancaster where you can have a 2 course lunch with a can of soft drink for £7.50, I always find both the food and service amazing, definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful food, staff and time here

Ordered takeaway from here for the first time and enjoyed their food more than our usual Chinese! Our building isn’t on a map so people struggle to find us. However, they called and managed to find it okay thanks to their fluent and clear English. They also arrived when they said they would (ETA was 1 hour) Will use again. Give them a try. :)

I very much enjoyed my meal here. Good sized portion of food and very delicious. Staff are polite and the resteraunt itself is warm and inviting.

The Tasty Wok is in the centre of Lancaster. It was advertising 4 courses plus a glass of wine for £13.95. We got there at 6.00pm (offer finished at 8.00pm). The appearance is that of a café rather than a restaurant and at one stage we were the only people in there! The food and service however were fantastic.

Lost count of how many times we've been here. It's our go-to place for tasty and comforting Szechuan food (we like it spicy!). Excellent options for vegans - particularly recommend the tofu in hot chilli oil and the Chinese leaves with vinegar. Make sure you ask for the Chinese menu. Great if you are into authentic Chinese food! The atmosphere can be a bit lacking sometimes and often the restaurant is quite empty which I've never understood, but the food is really really good. Staff very friendly and attentive. Sad to be leaving the area and no longer having this as our local!

Came here tonight for a quick take away after work and it did not disappoint, didn't expect such good quality with it being take away but it really was beautiful. Ribs where cooked to perfection with plenty of meat on them and the special curry was jam packed with high quality Ingredients.

I ordered a delivery from here today and there were a lot of good points such as quick delivery time , good portion size, very nice flavours and lovely delivery lady , however there was a big problem....too much fat on the meat. I ordered a beeg brisket curry and I had to use my hands to pull the fat off the meat as even for brisket it was way too much. Everything else was really good so it was such a shame. I will still give them another chance as I may have been unlucky.

My wife and I had Sichuan dan dan noodle, fish head hot pot, and deep fried squid. All dishes, especially the first two, were delicious and flavorful with a nice balance of Chinese spices and umami (partially from Sichuan soy paste 醬, I guess). All dishes on the menu were also very reasonably priced.

Great authentic Chinese food, best tasting in the area.

I think tasty wok is the underdog among Lancaster Chinese restaurants. The atmosphere feels a lot better ever since the renovation. Food tastes quite premium overall. Some authentic dishes are added to the new menu.

The restaurant was very austere uninviting and cold I had to keep my coat on throughout Staff were pleasant food good and reasonably priced Having no wish to return due restaurant being so uninviting we decided to order a takeaway yesterday evening This was a disaster It arrived one and a half hours later and food had to be reheated as it was barely warm Some of it was "OK" some edible Would not recommend Tasty Wok

There has been a few Chinese restaurants opening up around Lancaster recently and this is hands down the best one.

I tried Tasty Wok when I visited my friends in Lancaster. They have two menus: one for the normal Chinese dishes (like Sweet & Sour, Shredded beef chilli etc) and the other one for real Szechuen Dish. We have tried dishes from both menus and they are absolutely delicious! Strongly recommend for people who are looking for real taste of Chinese food. Their portion is very generous even the Chinese starter (Chicken in chilli sauce) we had was enough to share between two people. The beef clay pot was piping hot when the staff served it to us. My favourite dishes are salty pepper squid, chicken in chilli sauce (the cold starter), pig intestine and pickle soup and the beef in clay pot. I live in London but I have to say some dishes we tried here are better than the one I had in China Town.

These guys on onto a winner. Nowhere like it in Lancaster. The place during the day is full of Chinese students eating REAL Chinese food. The menu is split into English/Chinese food and Chinese/Chinese food. I had the sea bass; a full fish with head, tail and bones. My sister had pig stomach soup. Both delicious. This is REALLY good food. The service was great although a little overwhelmed with so many people The place doesn't have a drink licence so we rocked up with a Aldi bag full of beer and wine. A great night. Definitely go again.

This is a small Chinese restaurant which is a little bit different. Went for the first time yesterday and were greeted by very friendly staff. We were encouraged by the fact that there were three tables occupied by Chinese customers, always a good sign in my view. The menu contains all the usual items plus, and this is the little difference, a good selection of items probably aimed at the Chinese customers. Items such as pigs intestines and pepper soup, and fermented vegetables. Both tried and both delicious! In fact all the food was delicious and a long way from the average Chinese restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a great little find and we will undoubtedly return, easy to recommend.

Decided to try this new addition to Lancaster, and glad I did. Service from entering was very good, the menu had all the usual chinese dishes one would expect and is fairly priced. The food was of good quality with plentiful portions which was served freshly cooked.Certainly better than a lot of chinese restaurants. A welcome addition to Lancaster.

We ordered delivery from them tonight. The staff were very nice over the phone. Everything is well priced and tastes amazing. We ordered the salt and pepper squid, the roast pork in black pepper sauce, and egg fried rice and all of it was absolutely delicious. They even included a nice chinese knot as a thank you gift with the meal. Will definitely be coming back (especially to try the bubble tea)!

The place was clean and the food was delicious although we was waiting quite a while to relieve after ordering. But take into consideration there was around 10 of us. Prawn toast delicious as was the bbq ribs. I would recommend and also go back

Really enjoyed this meal at the Tasty Wok. We had the set meal for 2, and they kindly swapped one if the dishes out as it was not liked.

We were disappointed to find out that our go to fish and chip shop had shut down, however delighted to find our new favourite Chinese!

We have now used Tasty Wok 3 times and again we're not disappointed, this was a Monday night at 20.00 and the meal ordered earlier arrived on time.

I went here the first week this place opened and the food was quite nice. I would say however service was very slow and I hope the tam learn to gell together the longer they are open. It is odd that a chinese does not have a alcohol licence and a lot of people like to have a drink with their meal so they may end up disappointed. I will try this place again but will give it time to improve the service element as that's what is let it down for me.
