First visit to this cafe on Stockport Road. Overall, a very nice experience and would recommend. Lovely eggs florentine although could have done with an extra slice of toast for the price. Unfortunately no cakes or pastries today so went with a bowl of lentil soup which was excellent with lovely sourdough bread. Sadly no loaves of bread to buy though. Customer service was reasonable although could do with a bit more friendliness (which is the case for 80% of cafes & restaurants in this country!) and stops me giving 5 stars. Make your customers feel important and welcome guys!

Trove have lost it. Been going here (Levenshulme) since they first opened. Went on Sunday, they have 3 single cakes in the cabinet at 12noon. We wait for a table even though the place is mainly empty. get sat down 5-10 mins later and we're told there's no bacon or sausages. OK, we'll manage. So we go back over the menu then place our order. Eggs florentine. 5 mins later waitress returns: sorry there's no cavallo Nero for the florentine. We can serve it without and won't charge full price. Ok can we have the french toast? sorry no french toast today. Maybe get a sign outside to say all you have is eggs and bread then we wouldn't have bothered waiting for a table and being drip fed the news that you have no food. End result: sat in a cold cafe with over salted over priced scrambled eggs on burnt toast. I'd put my last bad experience here down to chance. Honestly, can't see myself ever returning. Manchester is full of competition and places grateful for the customers.

Called in for Sunday Brunch yesterday. No idea about choices in the area, Trove was just the nearest suggested result on a Google search. Friendly staff ‘squeezed’ us in at a busy time (I think regulars might pre-book). Excellent food, attentive service. Was a bit cold - well, we are all saving on the central heating. Bought an almond croissant at the counter as we left for on the way to work today. All lovely, thank you.

Not sure where the review is for the Ancoats store. But well rude staff. Blonde woman serving coffees this morning was awful. There were a few flat white orders in front of mine, she was clearly getting flustered as nobody was taking so I stepped up even though last on the list and she slammed the coffee down, huffed and gave me a dirty look. This isn’t London or Berlin. I miss the Manchester I grew up with. Usually go most days out of convenience, I won’t be back.

I used to come to TROVE on daily basis for my morning coffee which is good but not excellent, the staff is usually friendly. Today I came with a friend, ordered food, had our drinks but waited for at least half an hour for the food. After an hour we got kicked out and were told we had to leave before even finishing our food that came late. We were told that the table was booked for others. They didn't even nicely suggest that we move to another table, they weren't sorry, they didn't tell us from the beginning that we only had an hour to stay there. So food is very expensive for what it's worth, service is mediocre and takes an eternity, the staff is rude and not nice and on top of that, we were told that we had to pay with the card because they didn't even have a change and again never sorry for any trouble or inconvenience that they may cause to the customers. When I suggested to the staff that they could have nicely told us to move to another table instead of kicking us they told me that of course 'IF YOU WANT ANOTHER DRINK YOU CAN STAY'. Meaning you NEED TO PAY IF YOU WAWNT TO STAY. I read other reviews and realized this has happened quite often recently so personally I won't be going anymore and I won't suggest to my friends to go to TROVE. Unfortunately, some people care more about making money than keeping customers which is not smart in the long term.

Have eaten here a few times and always been very happy with their food/service. Today we got kicked out after an hour because they said they had another booking for our two seater table. We had a very young baby with us and we were not told when we arrive we would only have an hour. Our food and drinks had taken a while to come out so we were still eating when we got told we needed to leave. We spend £23 over the hour and would of happily stayed to get cakes and more drinks. What a shame this has put us off for the future… will be going a few doors down from now on, which is were we went after. Places are turning into money making machines rather than looking after their returning customers. I would advise you ask how long you have the table for if you go here to avoid being kicked out early…

The coffee… oh my goodness. Best I’ve found in Manchester. I love how they locally source all ingredients and even the tomato sauce is home made. The food and cakes are exceptional and the staff are so friendly. We visited towards the end of service and were treated to some bread that was not sold that day and it was genuinely the nicest bread I have had. We traveled 30 mins to take my mum to the levenshulme branch and it was worth every minute.

We were stopping in the Travel Lodge not far away from Trove and wanted breakfast so visited the cafe. Nice surroundings, modern light and airy in an up and coming area. The staff were very pleasant I ordered a decaf cappucino and due to me having a cold I was very quiet and they missed the decaf. As I couldn’t drink it my husband did and they knocked it off the bill. My husband had a bacon butty with egg and sausage and I had scrambled eggs on white sour dough with black pudding. Lovely soft scrambled eggs. Very impressed, good portions. The bill for the two breakfasts came to £16.00.

Trove looks great, and the food is OK, however, the service and portion sizes aren't great. It's clearly popular and we had to wait for a table, but it almost felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff behind the counter. The man who took our order was pretty miserable with no enthusiam at all, and not at all helpful. The female waiting staff who delivered the food to our table were lovely, so it wasn't all the staff. Another negative issue is the menu, which is pretty confusing. They offer some really interesting vegan food, but then with side options of bacon and black pudding which seems really strange, and we weren't clear initially if these were vegan options too. The portions are pretty stingy for the price you pay, and non of us felt full after eating. The cakes and bread were absolutely amazing. I wouldn't bother to eat there again, but I would buy bread and cake to takeaway. There's clearly demand for a creative cafe like this in the area, and I think they need some healthy competition to improve their service and portion sizes.

Went in here on spec, having lived for years in Ancoats but moved out a few years ago and curious/sceptical to sample the sprouting of new hipster venues. If you like space and don't want to hustle for a table, it's just not the venue for you. The food we did have was excellent, with the Merguez breakfast: two long, fragrant, spicy Merguez saugages served on sourdough with dukah, labneh, pickled parsnip and a herby sauce, with a fried egg, is simply of the best things I've ever eaten. Because I'm a hungry horse, I usually wolf down my food-can't help it. But with this dish, I made sure to savour it. We will definitely be back. Staff were pleasant.

Eager to see what the fuss was all about, I came here for the first time last week and coffee and toast here recently. I was surprised that I had to wait fifteen minutes for both items to get to me, even on a busy Saturday, but tried to push it to the back of my mind, wanting to give the place a chance. Soon afterwards, I had a niggling feeling in other ways that everything else felt a bit below par. First of all, I thought the coffee was fine, slightly above chain standard, but not much. I also got no apology for the wait and no 'How's everything?" whilst I was eating. The other thing is that, in common with a few other reviewers, on my visit there's a weird atmosphere going on. I felt this was partly due to some customers (perhaps regulars, perhaps the big spenders) getting more attention than others but what I found really surprising how unrelaxing the place is. Tables are very close together, which would be fine if Trove was bigger, but it adds to the tension, as well as seeing a queue of people by the door eager to get your table. Forget about lingering here for a few minutes after you've finished supping your brew (and I really do mean lingering for no more than five minutes) and I agree with someone else about the 'My daddy is richer than your daddy' clientele. All in all it was a relief to leave there (after I squeezed past the queue in the tiny space by the till).

We read some of the not so good reviews ( there weren't many!!), after our visit and these may have been from people who visited at a weekend. As always I will be back when I can truly enjoy the food and the setting and pretend I am cool enough to be in Trove.

Finally made it to Trove, lovely decor and friendly staff. We had the mergueZ sausage and fried egg on toast... good flavours but a bit heavy handed with the oil. The preserved lemon was a bit overpowering but that could be me

Thoughtful, high quality stuff. Never disappoints. Brilliant bread, crackin' coffee, beautiful baking and creative cookery, all crammed into a tasteful utilitarian designed spot in the centre of Levenshulme. Crying out for something like this in the Heatons...

Myself and my partner come to trove often, we often make a special effort to get here because the coffee is just so good. The food is incredible, the service is always friendly and the cake... wow. Such good vibes from this place, if you’re considering a visit, treat yourself, you won’t regret it!

Trove is an amazing little cafe in Levenshulme. Everything about this place is spot on. The decor is minimal and tasteful. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there is aways a really nice atmosphere. But the food really is the star of the show....

Nice place to pop in for a quick a warm drink in a cold city! We had three spiced chais which were tasty but awfully disappointing in portion size, for £2.20 you'd expect more that a few sips! The cakes however we very generous in...

Trove have managed to make a classic even better - elevate it to heights where other chefs/restaurants mostly fail. Classics are classics because they already offer a great combination of flavors/textures but in my opinion Trove’s Eggs Benedict with caper hollandaise, bacon and sourdough can...

Realmente un buen café, pan, tartas deliciosas y genial platos. Yo vivo localmente y vienen a menudo oculto.

This is a great place to have in Levenshulme when you fancy treating yourself. And now they have the extra space it is easier to get a table. Highly reccomended.

We went one Friday evening and had a great night! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious - bread, pickles, crab and roasted cabbage, merguez sausages and salted beef all washed down with the most delicious jam and gin cocktails. The only down side was not having a bigger stomach to keep on eating! The employees are also lovely, we couldn't have asked for nicer service! Definitely worth catching the 192 to experience. Thank you Trove! We'll be seeing you again very soon....

The food at Trove is consistently delicious and exquisitely presented. The owners and staff are always friendly and attentive. It has a cosy atmosphere - always a gentle hubbub of conversation- just right. We have eaten here over the last 3 or 4 years and still always look forward to it as a special trip. I'm happy to say Trove is now our local, having recently moved to Levenshulme and we hope it will always be there.

Trove is a nice local place, but on our visit the service was poor. We ordered the 'cronuts' for £4.50. After 20 minutes we asked where these were - not much of an apology, and 20 minutes later we were served two extremely overly deep-fried donuts -it was really offensive that they thought it was OK to serve these to us and then charge us £4.50. You can pick these donuts up in a supermarket bakery for 60p a bag. They had clearly been in the frier for over 15 minutes which is disgusting - I'm not sure what they were trying to do to our arteries.

Trove, without a doubt makes the best sourdough bread in Greater Manchester but eat-in options are great too! Please bring back the avo to the vegan breakfast and we'll be back for our weekly brunches :), the kale hummous is just not the same! We miss avo so much! Also there was a holiday version of sourdough (with spices like apple and cinnamon) that was absolutely amazing, but never seen it since the holidays. Would love to see it again!

Me and my partner always go to Trove. It's close to where we live and we love it. The eggs Benedict is amazing. Cooked with true perfection and it's never failed us and we've had it lots of times. The service is fantastic too and the staff are really attentive. Never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for a table and we have never felt rushed at all to finish our food. Also do really nice latte's. A hidden little gem in the heart of levy. Thank you trove for your excellent service :-)

Trove was one of the reasons my little family moved to Levenshulme! We go all the time with our three year old. The cafe has a super trendy look, but isn't stuffy or pretentious because of the chilled out service. The food is really very good. They serve some wacky contemporary dishes alongside traditional English brunches. I challenge anyone to find a better eggs benedict in Mcr! Nighttime cocktails and small plates are also worth a trip to Levy for. Prices are extremely reasonable, too.

Much like the reviewer below, we've also been visiting Trove for a while and loved sharing one of our favourite Manchester eateries with family yesterday. We had an assortment of dishes, which were expertly prepared as ever. Highlights included the vegan breakfast and charred aubergine & tahini open sandwich. Cakes for pudding were a necessity, of course. What a delight to see Trove flourish in the time we've been going there - from a husband and wife team to an independent empire with an Altrincham outpost - without ever compromising the quality of their produce. A wonderful place, and a real asset to Levenshulme.

I've been visiting Trove for a good while, and though the service has always been hit and miss, I'd say it's now officially lost it's charm. Better places are opening in Levy and Trove is getting left behind. Some of the previous staff were genuinely lovely, but I've been in and witnessed the owner herself hinting that people leave when they're still chewing their last mouthful! It used to get very busy and tables were in demand but there are politer ways to do this. Also, one staff member was very keen to share that some of their wedding cakes are decorated with food foraged from the nearby country park. Rinsing resources that should be able to be shared by the community is shameful, and for highly priced cakes sold for profit is even worse. I hope the service improves here. I miss how good it once was!

Forget Chorlton. This is one of my favorite places in Manchester. The food is not only good and inovative but also cheap. Service is the best. I feel incredibly confortable there. The staff is very friendly and they make a brilliant coffee.Dont get me started on the bread. Their sour dough is to die for. I'm a big fan of everything trove come up with.

So pleased to have had the chance to visit Trove finally after my friends constant pleas! My chums were right. This place is brilliant and luckily they knew well to go early as it does get busy. We all had a delicious brunch and the coffee is the best I've had for a long time. Managed to save space for cake too.....couldn't resist! The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and informative about the menu. Everything is baked by Trove (they have their own bakery nearby) so I left armed with some gorgeous sourdough (and more cakes!). Will definitely be back again.

So many reasons I love this place. I visit at least once a week! Poached eggs always perfect, excellently crafted coffee, sourdough and other delicious breads made in Troves own bakery down the road, along with their cakes and pastries. Relaxing atmosphere, excellent staff who always make you feel welcome and looked after, even when it's busy. Cannot recommend this place enough. Top of my list of coffee houses!

The old mill on Redhill street is beautifully refurbished and Ancoats Coffee Co held such promise with glass doors , indoor and outdoor dining space, twinkling fairy lights I chose outside in the lovely Mancunian sunshine to enjoy my cake and fresh orange drink, unfortunately this is where things start to go down hill, firstly cash is not accepted in this establishment, plastic is king, my cake looked like an appealing Madeira on its plate, I think it would have given the lovely refurbished bricks a run for their money, hard is too soft a word but not as hard as the seating, I think I am well padded in the posterior but These chairs WOW they were made of a galvanised material so to be expected but couldn’t you have invested in something soft to sit on ! One visit is enough for me. Not a

I’ve had a breakfast and evening meal here within the last month and I couldn’t speak highly enough of the food, service, vibe, value for money and overall experience. I had an amazing banni blue cheese burger most recently, which was absolutely fantastic, the blue cheese was complimented perfectly by a sweet onion chutney! My partner, and friends, all had a roast which also went down a treat! Strongly recommend a visit if you get the chance!

Nice relaxed space. Great cuts of steak, fresh and flavourful sauces, crisp hot fries, nice wine and cocktails. Brilliant gluten free options. And all very reasonably priced - steak, chips, sauce, and a glass of wine gave me change from £20! Well worth a casual lunch trip.
