Trouvailles in Redcar and Cleveland

Nice little unique place for tasty vegan, vegetarian and other food. The scone options are very good if you just want a quick snack. Plenty of other food to choose from. Very nice coffee and the chia latte is lovely. Staff and chef are friendly and welcoming.

We called in to Trouvailles restaurant yesterday afternoon and had a wonderful meal. We requested dishes from the evening menu but we phoned ahead the day before and they were kindly flexible and accommodated us. We had the chickpea, cashew and coconut curry which we definitely recommend you try and also for dessert, orange polenta cake with icecream and sticky toffee pudding. I don't often say a meal was perfect but that one really was. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return to Truvailles to try some more of their delicious food.

I booked Trouvailles for my retirement party and it was perfect. Michelle and Graeme took plenty of time discussing the details and what I menu for my party. They produced a wonderful selection of cakes, scones and tray bakes including some special gluten free choices as requested for some of my guests. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a party.

Friendly staff, excellent food and lovely surroundings. Had starters of soup and bruschetta, very tasty and fresh. Lasagne and enchiladas were indulgent, very tasty and had great accompaniments. Shared the beautifully rich treacle pudding and ice cream. Will definitely be back again.

The Sunday lunch I had today was fabulous. All the food was freshly prepared, vegetarian/vegan and had a unique taste with a gravybthat was a marvelous compliment to the meal. Wonderful and a return visit is planned.

Friday night, curry night - BOOM Really tasty. I should have ordered 2 as my wife annoyingly kept stealing mine. 😘

Just called in for a burger. The flavours were delicious , the best burger I have had that I can remember - pre and post turning vegan. Staff very friendly and the chef is totally committed to providing great tasting healthy food that can be amended to individual dietary requirements. Thank you for making me feel very welcome

Called in for lunch. Food great - imaginative menu, well presented and tasty. Atmosphere good. Vegan options not labelled on the menu and waitress not briefed on what was (although checked quickly the item chosen was OK). Cakes to take home - if any were vegan, they weren't labelled. This must reduce sales as customers are not always comfortable asking. For vegetarians this is a great place, for vegans it probably is but it's not clear enough! Covid - staff not wearing masks and we weren't asked to do NHS track and trace.

Great to have a big choice of veggie meals. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had a mixed platter for two as a starter and had a great choice of main courses. The wine was also very good. If you want a really good vegetarian meal out, this is the place.

We were looking for somewhere to have a ‘nice coffee’ and stumbled across this hidden gem of a place. We were all struggling to choose on the menu from so many brilliant options and it was only when we asked a question that we even realised it was vegetarian/vegan. We had a number of different meals ranging from nachos and pizza through to a ‘too big to close’ wrap. All were absolutely delicious. Prices were reasonable as well at around £6-8 for a big portion. The service was excellent and extremely friendly. We loved it and will be back. Couldn’t fault a thing.

We went to Trouvailles for breakfast and it was so good we went back the next day for lunch. All the food we had was delicious and we took scones away with us to eat over the next few days because it's so rare to find vegan scones and even more rare to find ones that taste this good! Michelle and Graeme and their staff were lovely and welcoming, We really enjoyed meeting them. We're not local but next time we're in the area we'll definitely be back!

The young couple that own the restaurant were so friendly and helpful. My wife and I had the Thai soup which was delicious and very filling. My Mam had the vegetable soup which was equally good. The gals were too full for the wraps we ordered, but we took them away for later. Scrumptious! My bean burger was outstanding as were the sweet potato wedges.

Travelled from Darlington specifically to eat here. It was well worth the trip. Will come again. It is quite rare in this part of the country to find a vegetarian restaurant let alone one as good as this. The owners are welcoming and chatty without being intrusive. It deserves to be busier than it was on our visit. Hope this is just temporary due to covid.

Nice and quite spacious, this find is a must-visit. I am not a vegan vegetarian, nor require gluten-free, however, that matters not as this place has much to offer in superb food choices and drinks for a varied diet. Great place to meet up with friends and take morning coffee, breakfast, or lunch. Fresh cakes, tea cake, scones for a high tea is pretty good too as much as the excellent savory options. I liked all the choices I have made so far and found everything to my liking over several visits. The staff was courteous and engaging working in a very relaxed atmosphere. Melanie and Leandra were very helpful with food information and service. Occasionally it's nice to have healthy fresh options if you want to eat out and this is an ideal place to do so during the day. As yet I do not believe this place opens in the evenings.
