Great food and very friendly and professional staff

Paid nearly 40 quid for 2 meals. They were the mix box. Forgot the coleslaw that we paid for. The box was full of rice. Minimal meat and minimal juice. NEARLY 20 QUID A MEAL, FOR A LARGE BOX OF RICE, AND VERY LITTLE MEAT. CRAZY!! It was all very DRY. Didn't taste authentic at all. Not happy at all!!! Actually can't get over how much rice there was, compared to everything else! I'm gutted!!! Sick of going to these places, and them being less than unsatisfactory! If I want some curried mutton/chicken etc, I will just make it myself from now on. Mine blows these out of the water!

Called in for lunch after a trip to Crystal Peaks. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious, I had mutton curry with rice and beans. Portions were really good - I ordered a medium and still finished up taking some home in a takeout box. Will be going back!

My order has not arrived at all! I would like to know where my order is?

Delicious food however non of the stuff i wanted was ready and brown stew was rather dry as no sauce/gravy was poured on my meat or rice

Won’t be ordering from here again. First & last time. Mutton come & was FULL of bones & ordered a large too. Rice was very sloppy, couldn’t eat!the dumplings were so hard & dry! Ordered over £40 worth of food for it to get wasted.

My go to place for brown stew chicken, always 10/10.

Food is fab,nice to have soul food close by instead of driving into town or city road. The lady behind the counter is sooo nice xx

Food was very bland , had to add my own salt and abit of curry powder to the mutton , it tasted alright but very very bland , this is the 2nd time my food has been bland

Walked past today going to the shop and my 5 year old daughter said mmm something smells good, we had to pop in and wow we was not disappointed the lady on the desk was very friendly and welcoming, give all the kids a colouring sheet whilst we waited our orders got home and the food is amazing tastes delicious!! Will 100% be back!! Thank you tropics!!

Very dissapointing we want to support local business but the order turned up very late was cold the portion size very small for the price half the order was missing attitude of restaurant staff member who messed up our order was very poor .. would not recommend don't waste ur time or money what a shame!!! we were really looking forward to finding a good carribean restaurant ...this is not it !!!

Second time ordering. I had the peppered steak and it was fantastic. Forgot my dumpling though. Still 5 stars though.

I ordered food from Tropics on Saturday and it was 10/10! I had mutton, rice & peas, plantain and a Fried dumpling - it was so delicious and the staff were so friendly too! The shop was also very clean and a really nice atmosphere to sit in and eat too - I am definitely going back next week to try the jerk chicken which I heard is good too. Well done guys so glad to have a great fresh food spot nearby.

Service was friendly and the shop was clean and modern. Unfortunately, the servings were stingy. Food was nice enough, with a homely and comforting style. But it didn't standout or have any "x-factor". The worst thing though is the meagre servings. The large lamb came with 5 small, bony chops. And the large chicken came with 5 tiny chicken wings. The rest was just padded out with rice. The lamb was well cooked, but chicken was overcooked and dry. And seeing as though it was supposed to be a chicken STEW, there was barely any of the "rich, brown gravy" that it was advertised with. I also expected more spice and exciting flavour. Whilst there was some complexity of flavour, it was all quite subtle. Still nice, but when the menus says something is "spicy", I expect at least a bit of spice. Instead there was no detectable heat or strong spices at all. I wouldn't come again.

Although flavour was good. I had 3 very small cutoff pieces of chicken. Everything else was rice and gravy.

Food was beautiful although did need warming up. Dumplings are the best we've had. A bit cold but generally lovely.

Food tasted grate would definitely order again and not bad price compared to other Caribbean places. Luv it

First time to try this, my partner loves this type of food. Only 3 stars as it took a long time for food to come to the desk when we arrived on time. Staff were friendly. Fried chicken was tasty but a little dry. The brown gravy stew was not a stew like it said on the menu, but it was very tasty. For almost £30 would have liked a bigger portion. We first ordered the chicken mutton but they said they were out of stock. (Gutted). But 3 stars as the food did taste good.

Pleasant staff, clean restaurant & the food itself tastes good. However there’s a lot of bone, minimal meat & minimal gravy for the rice etc. Also found a small (what looked to be an eye lash hair) within my Mutton.

Hardly any gravey with my mutton fried chicken was dry. Dumplings was like bricks. Food tasted good but small portion for what was ment to be large. Lumpy rice. My Mrs cooks better fried chicken mutton maybe not. Maybe I'll try again but won't be in a rush.

Amazing authentic food and lovely atmosphere! The brown stew chicken was delicious!! And the fried dumplings 👌🏼😋 had to order an extra one after my son ate all of his dad’s dumpling and kept asking for more 😂

Came here for the 1st time on Saturday and had the Mutton dinner and it did not disappoint. The flavours were on point will definitely be making another visit

This place came recommended and did not disappoint. The Atmosphere was great! The menu had all the classic options so of course I opted for my favourite, curry mutton with rice & peas, steamed vegetables and dumplings. The food was delicious so will definitely be coming back for more!!

Drove over half an hour just to try this place and was not disappointed! Food was delicious and fresh! My fussy 7 year old cleared the plate and asked for more!! We sat inside and was such a nice vibe staff super friendly will definitely be going back!

Went for the Chicken Soup, was flavourful! Can’t say a bad word about the place it was nice, nice layout inside the shop too!

Very expensive for the scabby little amount you get served - I ordered a large portion which cost £12 as a basic rice/peas and mutton - my mutton “the bit I did get” was fatty, grisly, boney and chewy and not cooked thoroughly enough at all - I also paid for extra sides of dumpling which was overcooked and plantain, and I only got three scabby little pieces of planting - a tin of pop also cost £1.50 I tried some stewed chicken as well, and that was nothing to shout home about Really poor value all toll at £15.50 Overall, it was ALL SUB STANDARD rubbish food and I will not rush back if at all I ever order or eat from there again….. It’s not the Jamaican or Caribbean food, it’s trying to me I cook better myself at home My advice is swerve it

Food was beautiful! I went for the curry mutton with white rice, steamed veg and ackee and calaloo. I highly recommend 👌🏽 Staff were really friendly and helpful too. Looking forward to my next visit already.
