Really nice drinks and reasonably priced during happy hour. I would say the vibe of downstairs is nicer than upstairs, the only real negative of downstairs is that it smells strongly of cheese because they're making sauce for tacos

When I first walked into this bar I was coerced into having a drink that I had never had before, When I got settled, I found myself A box of magic into the matrix. Who owns this place who manages this place? Who cares? Who is Alex? Who is Chong?? Come See for yourself, 10 out of 10 would recommend

We weren't expecting to find a new favourite bar when we stumbled on Tropichol in Hurts Yard, but their imaginative and creative cocktails absolutely blew me away - I've never been to a Tiki bar with such fantastic drinks before, and we're actively praying for the day when the delicious pork shoulder tacos that they serve on Fridays & Saturdays are available on weekdays - it's actually a bit scary that a small bar can put out food that's on the level of our other small-plate local faves like Kushi-Ya (Guardian Restaurant of the Year 2023), Iberico World Tapas (Michelin Bob Gourmand), & Taqero. We had some great cocktails from Joey & Mark today - in particular I had an off-the-menu cocktail from Joey - I would actively encourage you to discuss your tastes with the staff here, as to a man they're incredibly friendly & helpful. In conclusion - go to Tropichol! You ain't regret it - I promise 😉

all of the bar staff are incredibly friendly and lovely to chat to, the drinks are very reasonably priced whilst being extremely creative - they have lots of classic cocktails with a unique twist, and also some that i've never heard of before which are equally delicious! the menus are all hand drawn art, the service is always so quick and on fridays and saturdays they serve amazing homemade tacos which are as good as tacos i've had from high end mexican restaurants:) 10/10, love it here, special thank you to joey and mark who served us and made our drinks!

An amazing bottomless brunch! I assumed that the quality of the cocktails would be worse during bottomless but was consistently amazing. The pina coladas and soleros were outstanding and 10/10 would recommend.

The place is nothing short of amazing! The drinks were crafted to perfection, each one a unique blend of flavors that made every sip an experience to savor. The staff were incredibly friendly, taking the time to understand my preferences and making spot-on recommendations. They are creating an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and refined. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just looking for a great night out, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

First time in tropichol last night….. the best cocktails we’ve found in Nottingham! All the cocktails are unique, well thought out smooth to drink. The guys serving were excellent, chatting through the menu with us to ensure we found the perfect drink! The homemade coffee tequila (submarine shots) are a must try when you visit

Awesome drinks, zombie is another level to what I’ve had before. Incredible service, really friendly and welcoming even at peak time on a Saturday evening, couldn’t recommend this place more.

Went here on a whim because 400 rabbits was full and thank god. Best cocktail bar in Nottingham. Joey was so informative and funny, we felt really taken care of. My drink literally came in a bathtub and my friends had alcoholic ice cream on top

We have visited here a few times now. The service is always excellent and very friendly and the cocktails are great. Today we had the bottomless brunch, it was great value for money. The tacos were very tasty and we had many delicious cocktails. The service was quick and efficient, so we were able to have quite a few cocktails in the 90 minutes. We have been to other places that offer a bottomless menu, and found them to be very slow with the drinks, which I sometimes feel is intentional with a bottomless deal. This was not the case at Trophicol. I recommend trying this bar when visiting Nottingham.

I’ve been a few times before for drinks and the cocktails are just amazing. Gave their bottomless brunch a try today. Their tacos were equally impressive and the cocktail selection available was sublime.

Absolutely love this place, really awesome experimental edge to the drinks and new menu. Strong drinks, lovely staff. Great location. Favourite cocktail bar in Nottingham and a hidden gem. (I recommend the banana crusade)

Great independent Tiki bar with all the trimmings. Took a pretty girl for some pretty amazing cocktails and had a great night. The music was chilled and vibey accompanied with great service and ambience, a true tiki bar to get a lil saucy. Cool (mainly rum) cocktail bar where everyone that works there is chill. Relaxing atmosphere and, most importantly, amazing cocktails both taste and presentation are on point. Bring all my friends here when they visit. Even the ones that don't like rum and they whipped her up her request no probs.

Friday 1st March It was a Reggae and Rum night It was a brilliant night Took me back to the Havana days which was a fantastic reggae club in Derby back in the days The venue was brilliant Intimate and welcoming The cocktails were to die I had a Zombie which was fantastic and certainly had a kick to it and was plentiful The music was wicked Let's have more of those nights Well done Linda the dj her son and staff for a brilliant night in the hidden gem that is Tropichol 👏🏾👍🏾💖

What a brilliant place. Went for the first time yesterday....hidden up a rustic alleyway in Hurts Yard, so atmospheric! It was so lovely to be greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome too. The place was buzzing, great atmosphere and special Rum and Reggae night was happening (free entry, brilliant DJ and food available) Loved the unusual cocktails, expertly made and presented....forget the names but I had the smokey one with a frothy smooth top, delicious ❤️and a gorgeous frozen daiquiri just perfect 🍸 Will definitely visit again 10/10 x

Fantastic cozy little Tiki Bar. The cocktails are levels above most bars with really interesting ingredients, homemade liqueurs and freshly made juices. Staff more than happy to answer all my cocktail geek questions too! Will definitely return. Prices very reasonable too.
