It’s a nice place whenever the owner or his son or there , however whenever they are not the staff always look unhappy and the place is dirty , the cream from the frappe chino tastes out of date and it always gets me I’ll . But when the owner or his son are there , they make everyone feel welcome and cheered up and the drinks are to die for . It’s a shame really .

Popped in for a mid-morning coffee & treat, on a wet, miserable day. Fresh, deli sh flavoured flapjack & delicious Victoria sponge slice. The coffees were hot, tasty, well-prepared and good value. Clean toilets, friendly owner, plenty of space to socially-distance AND they’re dog friendly. Just a shame it’s located in a down-market part of the town centre.

My first visit and a lovely impromptu one, early afternoon on a friend's recommendation, and they treated me. Just drinks. They had lovely ginger and lemon herbal tea, served in a really nice tea pot and cup, and I had a fab skinny decaf latte. All COVID-19 measures in place extremely well. Wonderful staff, choice of food, and drink, with good prices. Really nice decor and ambience with cool Halloween decorations and food too - a nice touch. The food was all properly covered and displayed nicely and looked scrumptious. Lovely music playing just at the right volume. Independent. I noticed there were some electric charging points and I believe there must be free wi - fi. A couple of customers were on their laptops. Really worth a visit. Central Colchester town too.

Large, bright cafe, if you like to people watch either inside or out, this is the place!, window seating. Good coffee, friendly staff, ideal for young mums with prams, and also dog friendly. Was doubting Colchester needed another coffee shop, but this proved me wrong.

Great host. Our room wasn't quite ready so he gave us free drinks until it was. Nice room, very clean. Really comfy bed too. We'll definitely come back

Excellent standard of fish and chips, as often recognised at this place over the years. The food is considerately packaged in boxes to also prohibit chips sticking to the paper. Good value for the mon

So the young girl in glasses who works there is the most miserable person I have met. And this is the face to greet customers!! She couldn’t have been more rude. Ignored me for a couple of minutes whi
