Terrible, very overpriced food. Staff are very inconsistent with meal deals and prices and seem to see a lot of parents as an inconvenience. Evening meals are whatever is left over from lunch and is often lukewarm and they seem to close when they want (particularly on the weekends). Questionable food hygiene standards - food left out for hours and not much handwashing. We were here for almost 5 months and things seem to be getting worse. I even once heard one of the cooks advising his friends not to eat there as the food is awful.

We had breakfast and a coffee while waiting to see our granddaughter. The food quality was very poor. Over cooked and dried out and it was only 10am. Due to unforseen circumstances it was also closing at 2.30pm. Not great for staff, patients or visitors. I will recover from this experience, however my heart goes out to the staff, nurses and doctors who do use this facility, as they where in the queue like lambs to the Slaughter as their only option as far as I could see for a meal in probably a very long day of hard graft. Cost: 85p per item generally. I had 7 items my with 6. Bottle of coke zero and 2 coffees £16 odd. If the food was of good quality and taste that would of been fine. Don't get me started on the brown sauce!! We noticed a costa coffee once we sat down unfortunately.

Edit update: food still inedible. People on tills opening cartons to check contents as another employee apparently used the wrong carton - handling cash then handling the food without washing. Proceeds to throw away the one of the meals to have a new portion put in a smaller container. Really?! Terrible food, cold and held too long on counter. The only reason it makes money is because they have a captive market...

The food is pretty good for hospital food. Unfortunately though as parents with meal vouchers we’re often made to feel judged by the staff. Some staff and management make no effort to hide their disapproval of this system and act as though the tokens are taken out of their wages. This is a shame as other staff are very friendly and when you have a child in ICU the last thing you need to be doing is fighting for your lunch.

As far as hospital food goes in general I can't say it's the worse but certainly nowhere near the best. The prices here and hospital in general are quite shocking tbh. I really do feel for struggling families who have to visit here during already stressful times What makes it worse though is the miserable staff. They are a miserable despressed looking bunch, quite rude and awkward to speak to. Just ordering food you feel like you are making them go out their way. Which is really disappointing because this isn't reflective of the hospital as a whole or the fantastic work they do here We really won't be going back here during our stay at this hospital. As a chef with front of house experience I understand the stresses of working in hospitality but their people skills leave a lot to be desired.

For the prices I was expecting Gordon Ramsey to serve it. Next to no choice, quality varies wildly. Sausages never look cooked, a good vet could raise the bacon and have it trotting... but the probe says its cooked...food is just dumped into cartons. I have eaten better prepared food in warzones prepared during a rocket attack. Shocking. The ladies serving are the only saving grace for this place.

Staff are always super helpful and friendly mostly.. a bit more of a variety after weeks on the same menu it gets a little boring, however it serves a lot of people throughout the day so I imagine that’s not easy to satisfy everyone.

Poured mushy peas all over the fish which then made it really soggy. The chips weren’t crispy at all. I also had to pay £1 for ketchup which I understand some places charge which is fine but this seemed a lot when the meal itself was £9. Disappointing meal

With hours to kill before catching our flight to Wroclaw for a six days holiday in that most cute of Polish city's we dropped into this bar ,its now called Sable & Co Bar & Kitchen, more or less same layout but a bit bigger, beers were really good we sampled but prices were as expected airport prices meaning inflated ,enjoyed our visit here before we moved on to catch our flight.
