Travellers Rest in Caerphilly

We hadn’t been to the Travellers Rest for a few years but visited for dinner on a Wednesday night and were impressed. Very cosy and well presented pub with log fire burning and even Butcombe Beer on tap. We were found a table quickly despite not having a booking and the restaurant being very busy. Food and service great with a varied and enticing menu. Overall a great experience, will definitely return.

I joined the Vintage Inn app and was delighted when a £10 voucher off £40 pound spend came into my inbox . Three of us had lunch at the travellers rest ordering specifically off the two course lunch menu. We also had a bottle of wine for £20.50 and there was a supplement of £3 for chicken total £71.50. When the bill came our guest wanted to pay so I quickly paid it so she didn’t have to . It wasn’t until we got home I realised we had been grossly overcharged . The bill came to £8845 and I paid £96 with a tip.with £10 off We had been charged full price for the two courses which came to £98 hence £88.50 (£10 off ) . When I rang to query the bill I was told the £10 could not be used with any other offer . Why didn’t they explain that before we paid ? I paid £25 over the top with a £10 off voucher . In theory you will always have to pay full price for the food which negates any offer you are given . I am applaud to think that other pensioners will be caught out in this way ! Always check your bill and read the small print before you pay !

Must be the best pub building in Caerphilly the fires are absolutely amazing so relaxing sitting in front of the fire with bar snacks and drinks see pictures:) Staff are amazing great service so friendly and make you feel at home. Menu as changed quite a bit now and the bar snacks 3 for £12 are delicious Plenty of.parking

Darren is always a pleasure! He's not only friendly and welcoming but also has a great sense of humor that makes every visit enjoyable. He consistently provides excellent service, and the food is always fantastic. A lovely guy who adds a personal touch to the dining experience!

A perfect impromptu meal out mid week! Even though we had not booked, we were warmly welcomed and were seated in a great spot. A listed building, this is a very cosy but also very stylish pub. The lighting inside and outside is very pretty and there is a lovely atmosphere here. The staff are really attentive. Corey was so friendly and helpful, all evening. The food was delicious! We will definitely return soon!
